House is a little dated but well worth the money. Views are spectacular and the property is easy to get to and close to the slopes and downtown.

Great property experience even better owner
This is a wonderful property for families and friends looking to enjoy skiing/boarding but wanting to avoid the separation you have with staying in a resort. We had a few hiccups with our trip and the owner was not only accessible but very responsive with questions and needs and went above and beyond to help us. My only suggestion to those staying (which most people probably know) is be sure to have a 4/all wheel drive vehicle. The roads leading to the gondolas and to the house justify having one. :)) Thank you to the owner and maintenance people for your help during our stay! You were awesome!

Nice but............
House could definitely use some updates (smart tv's, pots &pans, Keurig) but the biggest problem is listing said enclosed hot tub and it's not enclosed. We really enjoyed the house.

Great Stay - Minor Suggestions
My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay here! The house was very spacious and in a fun location close to the mountain. The house had a weird smell for the entirety of our stay (mothball/sewer smelling) which I saw in previous reviews months ago, but was hoping would be fixed by the time we arrived. There were also minor things missing like salt and pepper and some of the kitchenware had food on it from previous renters. Additionally, the hot tub is no longer on the upper deck in a covered area, it is down by the driveway. Photos should be updated.

The twin beds in the loft get really hot, as the window does not open at that level. They need to add a fan or portable AC up there. The twin beds in the downstairs bedroom are uncomfortable and one of them is broken. The downstairs floor smelled of fowl sewer the whole time that got worse throughout the trip. As a result, I got little sleep the whole trip. The deck, living room, and hot tub were nice, but it would have been nice if there was a larger outdoor deck table. I would find another place that has more comfortable twin beds for the single people attending and doesn’t smell.

This property suited our needs. The only bummer was that the fireplaces were inop and the driveway is steep. I would stay here again. Thank You. Paul Thompson

Great place to be during pandemic. Lots of hiking for family of 6. Overall impression of the property was good. Only real problem was the smell of mothballs in the lower level. Driveway was also challenging but manageable. Would definitely book again.

A secluded trip to the 80s in a house that's great for kids.
Haus Bergwald is nested away up the mountain, near the slopes and Peaks Trailhead (while it's only 1.5 miles from town, it's a ~15 minute drive with the switchbacks).
The house is a blast from the 80s, only in good ways. The design, the boombox...all of it just feels like that era. The decor is pleasant and bright.
The layout is awesome for kids. A basement that's perfect for a playroom, lots of bathrooms and a fun loft meant our kids always had a place to play and be loud while the adults could still have relative peace.
The open living room and kitchen space was a huge plus for our large group, in addition to the deck and hot tub space.
Downsides:
- Long trips to Breckinridge (relatively)
- Moths. There were SO many moths. When we first arrived, there was a pungent smell of mothballs in the house. Turns out, there was also still moths and they were everywhere. We captured or killed 30 or so moths within the first evening. They were a pretty decent nuisance at first, but we grew to mostly ignore them. This may be pretty normal for houses there, but it was definitely surprising and unpleasant. I will, however, take them over mosquitos. But yeah, it would be nice if the renters had done something about all of the moths before we came.
- It has a king bed listed, but alas - no king bed in the house. Not a huge deal, but the listing should probably be updated to reflect that accordingly.

Excellent Location !! Great Host !
Excellent location to go with family if you are skiing at Breckenridge. Close to the town and lot of good restaurants.

Great house!
The house was perfect for our needs, lots of room, very clean, well equipped, prompt responses from manager and amazing hot tub!! We had plenty of room for our family of 8 and cooked dinner every night. While it is an older house it has been maintained very well, was clean and very comfortable. As other reviewers mentioned, the driveway is steep and the garage not long enough to park inside, but was still nice to have a place to put all our ski gear. We had a couple issues we emailed the manager, Ryan, about and he responded and resolved them for us quickly. Excellent customer service. The skiing was amazing and our group had a blast. Hope to return again soon!!

Great for large groups
We had a wonderful time at this property. There were 9 of us and there was more than enough room - we didn’t even use the extra downstairs living room all that much. The kitchen was really well-stocked (with a brand-new oven) and there were lots of games and puzzles provided. The location is super quiet but still only 5 minutes from town. Up the hill about a mile there is an access point to the Peaks Trail which goes all the way up to Frisco. And to top it off we saw a huge moose one morning walking through the neighborhood. We would gladly stay here again.

Lovely Mountain House
House was very comfortable, views were beautiful & the owner was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay. Overall wonderful experience.

Spacious house with a very helpful owner
We had a large group of us stay at this spacious house and everything was good. The house was clean and spacious and the hot tub was relaxing after a long day of snowboarding. Some things that could've made the experience great would be updated appliances, a working heater on the bottom floor and a warning the garage is too small for full sized SUVs to fit. I would warn to would be renters to travel with AWD cars only to this house during the winter...the roads are steep and the driveway is even steeper.

Ski Trip
We had a great stay at Haus Begwald, Excellent views from the main living level as well as great sunshine when not snowing. Close enough to town as well as Breckenridge skiing. The home was more than adequate for the four of us. Could have had many more. We had a minor issue when we checked in and the property manager resolved it with in an hour. The only negative is the garage is not big enough for an average size vehicle. Since the driveway is steep that would certainly help in the winter.
4.7
The house was very large, much bigger that what it looked like in the pictures, it was very clean. I think it's a great house for 2 families. One huge disappointment for me was the garage. I specifically looked for a house with a garage and this garage is not larger enough to fit a full size SUV. Making matters worse by not being able to put the SUV in the garage is the driveway is very steep.
4.7
Plenty of room
We had a wonderful time at the house! Plenty of space for our group of 10 adults. Great location and so close to Breckenridge and Keystone Mountains. We would definitely go back.
4.7
The property is great and as advertised.
Kitchen was well equipped for large group and holiday meal. The driveway can be tricky in winter conditions but owner is responsive and helpful.
4.7
Very nice, easy to get to the ski basin
Pleasure to be here, and the hot tub is giant!

Perfect locations and for large groups!
This house was nothing shy of perfect! Very close to the base of peaks 7 and 8. We had a large group of 9 but the house could easily accommodate several more. The 3 bathrooms are all in hallways so they are easy to share. The kitchen has all the necessities that you need. The oven is a little tricky to control, but we were able to cook large meals easily every single night. Hot tub was perfect after a day on the mountain!
Overall we highly recommend this beautiful house!

The Property was wonderful with plenty of space
We had a great time during our stay. The location was fun to be close to town, but far enough away to enjoy the mountains. There is plenty of space for all to enjoy and have fun.
