About this house rental
This historic turn-of-the-century limestone rock home is set in a verdant pecan orchard, inside the city of Fredericksburg and just 3 minutes from Main Street. This pastoral 5 acre property is a "throwback"; what remains of a 30+ acre farm established by German immigrants in the 1800s. Old Ollie the horse, Texas Dall sheep and native whitetail deer graze in a pastoral scene that effectively becomes your own personal enclave (throw out some corn for them if you don't mind).
Experience the bustle of Main Street, tour Wine Road 290, soak in some tunes at Luckenbach, hike Enchanted Rock, experience the Nimitz Museum, or encounter any of the numerous other unique Fredericksburg offerings, then return to this sanctuary. Relax and refuel.
This is a very cool old house with tons of charm, but it does NOT have all the amenities of typical B&Bs. For example the bathrooms are just regular tub and shower combinations. There is no hot tub. There is cable TV, but NO WIFI (other than perhaps the hotspot capabilities of your personal cell phone). There is a flatscreen TV with basic cable and a DVD player.
The house has quite a lot of character and most guests should find it fitting for their needs and expectations if the goal is to tour, see the sights, experience Fredericksburg and then afterwards have a kind of old-world place to relax with lots of "elbow room". If you are coming to see the Hill Country rather than the TV, this could be the place for you!

This place is uniquely beautiful! The stone walls and wooden floors take you back to a time where things were simpler. It’s like going to Grandma’s, with the old quilts, the rod-iron beds and the squeaky floorboards.
There’s plenty of room for the whole family, so everyone can have their own space.
I thought that this place was going to be further out of town when reading the description, but it’s not! It’s very conveniently located just far enough away from the hustle & bustle of downtown Fredericksburg, but close enough that your there in less than 5 minutes.
Great place to stay!

We do Vrbo's all the time and this was the first time we tried an antique house. Overall, it was a good stay with lots of room. The dogs loved the (partially) fenced in front yard, so they had time to stretch their legs.
The back yard fire pit was semi-private, so we used it almost every night. Firewood was provided, which was a plus.
Keep in mind this is not a 5-star resort being that the house is probably 100+ years old. Floors squeak and lots of antiques inside that made me feel like I was in my Grandparents farmhouse (good thing).
Wi-Fi, none as listed. Hit and miss using cellular data. Goes from 5 bars to 2 at a blink of an eye (Verizon). When we got there and tried to open the email for the door code and arrival instructions, it would not pull up even though we had 5 bars, so we sat on the front porch for a bit until a local friend of ours showed up with his truck Wi-Fi. Then we were able to get into the ap. and call the manager who seemed upset with us for calling him. Maybe he was having a bad evening, I don't know.
Great one-time experience, but my family of 7 that I travel with, will go back to cabins/RV next year.

The property was just as described. We had a great relaxing time for thanksgiving and enjoyed the home. Plenty of room to spread out and we had a nice time outside with the fire pit. The animals were a great addition to the overall feel. Very close to the downtown area and shops. Beautiful at Christmas time.

Our stay was wonderful, we had everything we needed and our accommodations were perfect. This property is conveniently close to main street, so it made our travel to restaurants, and shopping easy to get to. I only have one suggestion..I feel like the property needs at least one walk-in shower for those individuals who cannot get in a tub for fear of falling.

We really enjoyed the outdoor space and feeding the animals.

Awesome place for a group of ladies!!! Everyone had their own beds to sleep in. The sheep and Ollie the horse were a pleasant surprise as well. The house could have used a little extra cleaning but that’s the only thing that wasn’t perfect. All in all I’d stay here again!!!!

My sister & I had a great time "social distancing" here! Had plenty of room and near downtown- but away from then general public;). Easy to get to points of interest. Loved Ollie and the sheep(it was a good experience for my dogs-they've never seen sheep/equine). Thanks so much to the property owners for this relaxing place to stay!

We can highly recommend this property. We had some great stays with VRBO and some regrettable ones: this one was a great choice. Charming, peaceful part of Fredericksburg. Great getaway, calm back porch, close to everything. Kids enjoyed feeding the horse and sheep but could stay away if wanted. House is as advertised: cozy, definietly has a style, better than the picures. Thanks for having us here, we may return.

This house is so charming and wonderful. The location is quiet, about a mile from main street. We walked downtown several times and enjoyed the area. And easy drive to Enchanted Rock. The house had everything we needed for our family. Enough beds so every teenager had his own place to sleep and enough space to spread out at the end of the day. The kitchen was large and very functional. We enjoyed the sheep and horse. Just made the place extra charming. Plenty of pillows, blankets and linens for everyone. House was very clean and ready for us. I really want to come back!

Property was very enjoyable - front bedroom did have a little bit of dusty floor. I chose those property due to being a past member of the Methodist Church and was married by monty on 11-1-2003. Colleen was always so uplifting with her music. Miss my Fredericksburg Methodist family.
