The house is beautiful with excellent ocean views and plenty of space for our large family. Kids really enjoyed the swimming pool.
Downsides are location and no air conditioning. We knew there was no air conditioning going into it, but just know that the first day you are there, all of the windows will be shut and fans will be off (understandable) but this makes it unbearably hot until you open everything and get the breeze going. Once we got the house cooled off, it was fine the first few days, but the last few days there was minimal breeze so it was still too hot. We ended up checking out a day early for 2 reasons: it was way too hot and the house is over an hour from the airport. I thought it was only 20 minutes from Kona since on a map it looks like Captain Cook is 20 minutes from Kona. However, the house is an hour from Kona because it is in Miolii (this is stated in the listing, I just didn't see it). So the downside of the trip was after driving an hour or 2 to go see something for the day, we then had to drive an hour or 2 back. There is no nightlife within walking distance.
Overall, this is an excellent home and I would recommend it if you are ok with driving a lot and no air conditioning. Tammy was very responsive when we had a few issues the first day. If I were to do the trip differently, I would stay 4-5 nights at this house, and the rest of my time in a hotel either in Hilo or Kona within walking distance of activities.

We were a party of 10, 9 of us aged 18-69,one is 10. The road down(and I mean down!) to the house takes some getting used to and is tricky at night with no street lights, but take it slow and you’ll be fine, worth it for the view! We all had plenty of places to sleep, plenty of bathrooms, 2 kitchens, and a pool! Not a good place for all of us to sit together for meals, but we made it work, Tammy was great about answering our questions and solving a few minor issues in a timely manor.
A small downside is groceries and other shopping is not real close, but that’s about it. Great place for a larger group to have a lot of quality time without the hubbub of a resort or city.

This house did not disappoint… beautiful view of the ocean, sunset, and hillside! I was a little worried about not having air conditioning but the breeze and fans throughout the house were all we needed. The pool was a great touch when it got warm during the day. The house has a great selection of dishes, pots & pans, tupperware, and plenty of beach towels.
5 bedroom (2K, 2Q, 1F/1T Bunk, & Extra Futon in living area) were perfect for my group of 8 and the 3 full bathrooms were a huge plus for everyone to get ready at one time!
House is located about 1h from Kona strip (Ali’i Drive) with lots of shops, places to eat, parasailing, and submarine tours. And about 1h 30m from Hawaii Volcano National Park and Punalu’u Black Sand Beach. The drive both ways have stunning views!!
I Highly Recommend this house and would definitely stay here again!

Only thing you gotta walk upstairs to kitchen… tough on old knees.

This house is very spacious with a beautiful view. Well appointed and very clean.
The pool had a little too much chlorine.
The house is located quite far from the shopping centres and beaches accessible in winter.

My family really enjoyed staying here. I will say it is a little remote so you should plan before going but once we were there, we really enjoyed it. My family is already planning on going back.

We totally enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, spacious house. We had everything we needed- the kitchen was very well stocked. The private pool was perfect and very clear and we took full advantage of it, swimming several times a day. We ventured out to nearby beaches and sites from this “lava land,” like nothing we’d seen! Very relaxing stay!! Highly recommend!

Beautiful home with a private pool and a gorgeous view of the sunset every night. If you want to escape the business of life, this is a great place to stay.

We’ve stayed at other homes in Milolii and this was our favorite! The house was decorated beautifully. Loved the pool, Master bed (so comfy), Master bath, and lanai! Will try to stay here again.

The house is overall beautiful. The neighborhood is very quiet. As stated in the description it is far from town. So plan wisely for shopping purposes. Would recommend to family and friends.

Tammy was an outstanding host. And the house was great! It was a family trip (two family units and grandma) so 5 adults and 2 kids. While the switchbacks to get down the hill to the neighborhood were a tad harrowing at night, the drive was well worth it. We could lounge in the pool and watch the sun set over the Pacific. Gorgeous. The kitchen was perfect for breakfast and dinner, and we did day trips to the beach, volcano, winery, coffee farm, downtown Kona, etc. Highly recommended!

Great space for several family members, Great to have everything needed in house, washer/drier etc.
Check out the water entry 100yards towards the ocean ( by Marine biology research house) Avoid the beach (Google says nearest beach is 1.2 miles away) This beach and the occupants is less than inviting. Plus why go there when everything you need in the ocean is right infant of the house.

Home was beautiful. Great to have the pool. Tammy was easy to talk to and get a hold of. Beautiful views of the ocean and sunrise and sunset.
Down side was driving. Be aware you will be driving everywhere you go. At least an hour in any direction. Also no inside stairwell. Stairs get pretty slick in the rain. Really not a house for elderly people.

Pictures do not do this property justice. It is so beautiful, spacious and secluded. We loved our stay. Just make sure you have a rental car because you definitely cannot walk anywhere from here, and it's about a 12 minute drive down a windy road to get to it. But that's what makes it so special and beautiful. We were apprehensive about the no ac, but once you open all the windows it gave the most comfortable Hawaiian breeze all day and night and we did not even need ac. The pool was also very nice and there were a bunch of towels and toys. We had a great stay.

Very kind, flexible and responsive for a family that has a lot of needs. The home is large, plenty of room for everyone. Very nice lanai with an oceanview. We enjoyed the view so much, we didn't spend much time in the house. Close to ocean fun. We took our SUP and had a great time.

Communication with the owner was excellent from the very beginning. The information about the house that was provided was clear and very helpful. The checkin process was a breeze. We found the house to be very clean and well furnished for our stay. Having kitchen and laundry space on both levels was perfect for our group, just mind your water usage and you won’t have a problem. The views from the lanai were gorgeous. We have been to the Big Island before and wanted to stay outside of busy Kona and this location was perfect for us. The location is about an hour to Kona and 75 minutes to Volcano National Park. We did not mind the drive at all. We will certainly rent again if we return to the Big Island. Mahalo to Tammy for a great stay!

This property was great for me and my family the house was very clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. The only downside is that it is very far from everything but that’s a good thing if your looking for some peace and quite.

We traveled from Alaska looking for a place where our whole family could relax without having to worry about exposure to lots of other people. This home was absolutely perfect, located in a quiet neighborhood with expansive views of the ocean and the leeward side of the island. The pool was a great size for our kids to enjoy. The home is beautiful and spacious. We could spend days just relaxing on the lanai, watching for whales and dolphins, and swimming to cool off. The sunsets were amazing and the beautiful and secluded beach at Homomalino Bay is just a short scenic hike from the end of Miloli'i Road. The hardest part was having to leave!

A very comfortable house about 1.5 hour south of Kona. House is well maintained. Kitchen was well stocked and fun to cook in but make sure you stock up on groceries on your way to the house. Closest grocery store is about a 20 minute drive away. Enjoyed watching whales from the deck. Pool was very clean and perfect to cool off.

Tammy was wonderful and the house was great. It is a bit off the road but a wonderful quiet place with lots of room for family.

If you like quiet and an absolutely amazing empty remote beach (10min drive +15min walk), you are for a treat, as the house is in a small village outside of the main road, in the middle of a lava field, overlooking the ocean. We love being outside of the resort life, so it was perfect for us. As one of the reviews mention, the first grocery is probably 40 mins away, so just be prepared (you can buy delicious local oranges, lemon, bananas and avocados on the way down to the house though!)The water supply at the house is scarce as it depends on catch water, a good reminder on how water is a very essential ressource. Tammy was very easy to communicate with and solved a small hiccup fast and very professionnally! We would totally recommend this house - total change of scenery that we enjoyed thoroughly.

The location is perfect if you want to be away from all the hustle and bustle that comes with vacationing in Hawaii. The house was more than we expected and we thoroughly enjoyed the place. A wonderful place to stay.

Great house, great location ... awesome communication with the owner

This home was better than expected! Wonderful home with lots of room for everyone. Great communication with the owner and property manager. A few hiccups that were remedied quickly. The only issue when renting this property would be the neighbor who is a “nosy Nellie”. She was always questioning the kids where they were going, where they were fishing, minding everybody’s business- even at 5:00 am! She even had the nerve to come over to tell the kids to be quiet before quiet hours. Nevertheless- this home is wonderful and a great place to unwind.
