Great location for our family vacation. We had five adults and two children . I would stay again.

It was exactly as advertised. Needs updating but comfortable for our group of 8. The patio was great and the volleyball courts were not a problem. A few minor mishaps with coin laundry and ants but resolved quickly. The shower in one bathroom was tricky and the ceiling fan vibration in one bedroom was bad enough to turn it off at night. All in all, a good week.

Great spot, just a minute or so walk to the water.
Could use an update, clean and tidy, just needs to come into the 2000s.
Everything you need for your stay is there.

We rented this house for Thanksgiving week, family of 5 with adult children and significant others. 2 bedrooms are private with 2 large, comfortable pull outs. Plenty of room for everyone. The volleyball courts are so close and fun to watch everyone playing. The back patio is the perfect place for morning coffee and afternoon happy hour. Easy walk to the escape room at the Belmont Park, or take the bikes! We decided to make a traditional Thanksgiving dinner in this rental, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. So many dishes, pots, pans and even reusable containers for leftovers. I was pleasantly surprised, as some rentals have minimal kitchen items. We will definitely rent this house again. Looking forward to our next visit to Mission Beach!

Loved staying right off the board walk and hanging out on the patio! Property was just right for our week stay! House was clean and everything accessible! Would definitely stay here again!

We love this little house! Great view and just steps away from the water. Al is quick to respond and always polite.

Overall 5 stars! There were some flying ants that invaded and left wings in the bedroom and bathroom (gross!) but they didn’t bother us otherwise. They disappeared after the first day. We enjoyed sitting in the back porch and watching the volleyball games. Had a couple of neighborhood cats that stopped by for some loving. Could use a second umbrella for the porch as the afternoon sun was strong and it was hard to squeeze 4 chairs with the one umbrella. Al responded instantly with a question about the bikes. Didn’t cook at all except for making coffee. No keurig but the coffee maker worked just fine. Was a perfect cozy place for us!

This was the second time we stayed at this house and really enjoyed it once again! It is the perfect place for our family. We love the location, especially because it is further down on the boardwalk, where is it a little calmer. We even reached out to Al on a holiday with a question and he responded immediately! Thanks again!

It’s nothing fancy, but it’s cozy with vintage vibes and we loved that. There was only one thing that bothered me, the blinds in the front Sun room were broken and when you tried to close them shut all the way they would fall off. It was a privacy concern and it’s a simple inexpensive fix that they should invest in.
Its location is in front of the volley ball courts not far from the inlet to the bay. If you want to go to the ocean you have to walk a little bit down the boardwalk.
It’s a great size which makes it comfortable for families, loved having coffee on the cute patio.
I would definitely stay there again but next time when it’s warmer, we went December 2 for the weekend.

Just a short walk from Belmont Park. Was nice to get away from the crowded area. We enjoyed our stay, and will more than likely be back.

Oceanfront at the end of the beach!
This property is a great location to the beach. My family enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the volleyball players every morning. The property does need updating as its very dated. Parking was great. Overall we enjoyed it and would stay again.

Great Stay At A Vintage Beach Cottage
Hubby turned 70. We had a 3 night staycation with family. (Us, our two daughters, their spouses, and two year old twins). The cottage was perfect for us. It has a large, fenced patio and is at the quiet south end of the boardwalk near the jetty. The volleyball courts are in the sand out front and we enjoyed watching matches of skilled players. Added fun, our youngest made a "Happy Birthday, Mike" banner and hung it on the bushes on the north end of the patio. There were at least 100 people who walked/rode by and shouted "Happy Birthday, Mike!" and other birthday greetings. Made us laugh many times. This is one of the last old beach cottages left on the boardwalk. A bit dated decor, but charming, clean and well stocked. I had a question for Al. He responded immediately. This rental was everything it was promised to be in the listing. I would definately stay again.

Great location but dated
The house was in a great location! However, if you do not enjoying volleyball at 6:30 in the morning this is not the place for you. It was fun to watch during the day but early morning practice was unexpected.
The house was clean however very dated and in some disrepair. The carpet was as others have described, you will want something on your feet at all times. The blinds were missing slats and the outdoor furniture needs to be replaced. We did enjoy our time at the house it just needs quite a bit of TLC.

Affordable and Unique
The cottage has the roomiest parking (not covered) space in all of South Mission. You can fit a truck or SUV in just fine.
The kitchen has all amenities you need for simple cooking and grilling. The living room can fit a family of 4 easily with TV. If you have small kids, be careful since there is a large coffee table.
There is a covered patio. Very nice waking up in the morning, opening the blinds, and watching the crowd fill up the volleyball courts. The kids loved watching the sand truck smoothing the sand.
Outdoor patio is simple, but it is a nice space for a family of four.
If you like luxury and staying in a comfortable bed with bright white linens, having a large shower and large sink space for all of your cosmetics, THIS IS NOT your place. However, if you want a great location, and dont mind a small shower, small sink, and the typical older style beach property, this is your unit.
PS There is a storage area next to the parking that has coin operated laundry, as well as all the beach chairs, boards, and 4 bikes! Great plus!

Great Property, Needs Updates
The property is wonderful. In a nice location next to the beach and bay. Not a far walk from Belmont. We loved the privacy, as most of the properties are multi-family. Our kids could run around the yard and play in the sand accross the boardwalk without having to worry about botherinf anyone. The only complain I have is the antiquated interior. The water pressure in the indoor showers pales in comparison to the outdoor shower, some of the furniture is disrepair, and the beds were hard as a ROCK. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. It far exceeded a hotel or condo for the same price. We would return in a heartbeat (with matress toppers).

We had a wonderful time staying in this beach house!!
This house is adorable, and perfectly located for quiet evenings on the patio or easy access to lots of fun! It’s a quaint beach house, and loved the old-style charm!! It could use some sprucing up, and more ceiling fans but we were there on one of the warmer weekends for SoCal. We also enjoyed watching the volleyball players during the day, and wondering the boardwalk in the evenings. It’s just far enough down the beach for a quiet and peaceful experience which is exactly what we were looking for!! Thanks to Al for quickly responding to our questions. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back in the near future!!

We loved staying at this property. It's very cozy and the local is amazing.
At this property you have everything you need to fully enjoy the beach life. They have beach chairs, boards to ride in the ocean, and anything else you need to make a stay relaxing and enjoyable. This is not one of those properties brand new but is very comfortable. It feels much bigger than the pictures show. We went with a family of 4 and loved every minute of it.

Great location and plenty of room both inside an out. Looking forward to future stays.

Fabulous!
We had a wonderful time at this beach cottage. Its an original beach house, which I loved. Although not updated, its clean and spacious. Right on the sand. Great for long walks. Only negative I could think of is that its right by the volleyball courts, which can get a little loud early in the morning, plus its in the flight path for SD airport. I suggest bringing a fan to help with that. Overall it was fabulous. Hope to go again. Thank you.

Great beach house
Great location. Older but well maintained. Management was very cordial and easy to work with. Airplane noise was bothersome but became not a problem. Would stay again.

Feel Like Home only @Beach Front
We lived in Palo Alto, CA and we needed a short gateway for a few days. We contacted the owner, Al. He offered a few options. We decided to stay in this unit. After our arrival, the unit and location could not be any better. It felt like home. It was super clear and well recognized with all extra blankets and pillows. The owner's office was just across the street and very easily accessible. Al is very nice and helpful.
We definitely recommend it to any family and will come back again.

After spending 3 weeks at this house it's everything you think a beach cottage should be. The location is great with good access to beach/bay and boardwalk. It comes with bikes and beach toys. Unfortunately it is in desperate need of paint and repairs. The kitchen chairs are filthy and I would not walk on the carpet without shoes on. It was a great getaway but it really needs and update and some TLC.

Comfortable stay
We enjoyed our stay in this home. The location was excellent. It was nice having access to bikes to be able to ride on the boardwalk in the morning. The house is older and in need of some repairs but overall we were very comfortable.
