About this house rental
This is the upstairs unit of our completely renovated duplex (downstairs listed separately, you can rent one or both). The unit has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The living and dining area are comfortable and have lots of seating for eating (4 at the bar) and at least 6 at the table, plus seating on the patio.
We have Air Conditioning (don't be fooled, you do need it in summer in Newport). We provide bicycles with bike locks and helmets. We have tons of beach gear (beach towels, surf boards, boogie boards, wetsuits galore, sand toys, beach chairs, umbrellas, pop up tents, etc..)
The kitchen has just about everything you'd ever need to cook a great meal for the family and we even include some basics like cooking oil, salt & pepper, starter amount of coffee pods, etc...
The bedrooms are adorned with modern and comfortable bedding that we own and launder onsite (not the gross rental linens that some places use), every room has a TV, every room has AC, every room has a ceiling fan. There are mirrored closets in most rooms and storage for your stuff in closets and dressers.
The bathrooms come with basics (blow dryer, soaps, shampoos, towels, etc..). One bathroom has a tub/shower and the other has a shower.
The patio on this upper unit is super comfortable with a full awning to keep you cool, it has a table with plenty of seating, places to hang your towels, an easy to use BBQ with propane tank (extra in garage in case you need it). Its a great place to spend the end of the day under the awning, enjoying the ocean breeze.
Washer and dryer for this unit is in the garage. Laundry soap provided.
37th Street is a locals favorite. It is quieter than most streets and has less traffic. The curbs are red on our side of the street so no one will be parking in front of your house loading and un-loading (it can be really annoying). We also have less car traffic as it is a one-way street. We are next to the alley on one side of the duplex so we it makes loading and unloading your stuff easier.
The boardwalk starts on 36th street so we are just a few steps from the start of the boardwalk. It takes just a few minutes to get to the Newport Pier on 21st street. Or 2 miles if you want to go the Balboa Pier and Fun Zone.
Just a quick walk across the street is a little playground with jungle gym, swings and shady grass area for picnics. There is a also a full court basketball court.
Take a morning stroll with your coffee just past the park to Newport Island and look at all of the beautiful water front beach cottages.
Parking in Newport can be difficult (mostly in summer and weekends) so you'll be happy to have a parking spot in the carport/garage (the garage door stays up during your stay - car will stick out into the set back so its' really more like a carport). If no one is staying downstairs you can use both parking spots.
Take a look at our downstairs property also a 3 bed/2 bath: Listing number 641842
or rent both units together listing number #1057530
Please keep in mind this is an upstairs unit and if you have a very loud group or like late nights then you might be better off renting the downstairs unit. Noise does travel to the downstairs unit (mostly footsteps). If renting the upstairs unit you must be willing to be considerate of your noise levels including children.
Please do NOT make a reservation if you are coming to party! It won't work out and you will lose your deposit and get kicked out. There are no visitors permitted to come to the house without prior permission from the host.
Host will not issue a refund after stated cancellation due dates for Covid or any other issues. Consider travel insurance.
Guest who books the house must be at least 28 years old and must be staying at the house (no booking for under age kids).

Convenient location, super clean, comfy beds/linens, great host and everything you could need…on top of having the outdoor shower, there’s even a tub & hose for rinsing feet after the beach. Would definitely stay again.

Great location

Great location off of 37th, less than a block from the beach and a block away from the boardwalk. Great place for families. Air conditioning is a nice touch despite us not needing it in October. Parking can be an issue if you have a large vehicle. We had to find street parking which is always an issue in Newport. However, once you park then getting around is primarily by bike or on foot.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for others. Great place if you travel with extended family as the downstairs unit can be rented at the same time.

We came out to Newport with the family for our annual trip.
The property was nice, clean and comfortable...looks just like the photos. It was so nice having the bikes and all the things for beach to use. Lisa was very responsive thoughout our stay. Would definitely recommend.

This property could not have been any better equipped for a beach vacation—bikes, chairs, ez-ups! Wonderful host & communication.

I love it when I arrive at a property to find it exactly as, or better than, described. That's the case here. The property seems bigger than the photos show and it is stylish with nice finishes. Comfortable beds and enough towels. Tons of beach towels and gear. The owner has installed a large awning over the deck which made it easy to sit outside in the heat (or in our case a little drizzle. )
Parking was as expected - maybe a little better. We parked a small SUV next to the other unit's full size minivan with no issues. When we arrived, the area was beginning an unusual cold snap so we didn't go to the beach as much as we'd hoped but we did walk a lot. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you ❤️

This is prime location, quiet and very close to beach. Lisa is a fantastic host. Definitely will come back!

This is our favorite beach rental to date for multiple reasons. First and foremost, it's location was ideal for our young family... 5 or 6 houses from a fairly unpopulated strip of beach, across the street from a park with a playground and full court basketball, and a less than 10 minute drive from Balboa Island and Pacific City in Huntington. Secondly, Lisa is a very detail-oriented and responsive host. She accommodated an early check in and was available locally to address any concerns. The house itself is an excellent balance of being stylish but "sturdy" for kids and beach traffic. It is also next level in terms of the amount of beach gear it offers. From nearly a dozen wet suits to close to 10 bikes to half a dozen quality beach chairs, we didn't need to bring any of our own equipment, which even as locals, was much appreciated. We look forward to our next stay!

My family really enjoyed everything there was to do. We rode the bikes, played in the sand and water with the wet suits and beach toys and enjoyed the sunsets with the beach chairs. It was a very short walk to the sand. The home very clean and had beach towels and everything we needed. Lisa explained everything well and was great to keep In Touch. It was the perfect weekend relaxation we needed after spending the week at Disneyland. I would highly recommend it!

There are so many great things about this rental. The location is amazing. It is located on a quiet street about a one minute walk to the beach. The boardwalk is just one block away and provides great access to the Newport Pier. The unit is very clean and comfortable, with plenty of room for the 6 adults on our trip. The bikes, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, surfboards, wetsuits ect. are a game changer. It was so nice not to have to go and rent all those items separately. Lisa was great with all communications. We hope to be back someday!!!

Thank you so much for the rental this past week. Location was fantastic and we appreciated all of the amenities you had. We got a lot use out of the bikes and the surfboards. Having the kitchen fully stocked took a lot of burden off me.

The pictures don’t do this place justice
This property is the perfect location! One minute to the beach and boardwalk or bike lanes. We had a car and used it but could have done without it. The supply of bikes was great. We did have to stop and pay to have a repair on one bike but worth it having had access to them our whole stay. We rode to Balboa Island, we rode to dinner, we rode to the Wedge, we rode to Huntington Beach, we rode to shopping. We used the boogie boards and wetsuits every day, we used the beach chairs. This place has it all and makes the trip amazing. There was a little noise downstairs but the owner was quick to check in with us. I say the photos don’t do it justice because they make it look smaller than it is. We were six women and it was perfect for us.
Thanks for a great stay!

Perfect Beach Getaway
This house was amazing! So beautifully decorated and great kitchen. The layout is perfect for a group of friends that want to be close to the beach and food. The patio is set up for success for a grill out and it comes with bikes to access and all the beach equipment needed. Literally two blocks from beach so great! Will definitely be back.

Fun in the sun ☀️
This is a beautiful, clean property with updated decor and lots of extras. TV’s in every room and fully stocked kitchen (but we didn’t cook). There were lots of beach items included, including a fleet of bicycles. We loved using them down the boardwalk. Lots of restaurants nearby and grocery stores, too. We thoroughly enjoyed our girls trip and I would love to take my family back.
I would not recommend this for littles or really active kids, as there are sound “rules” and the sound does carry. Overall, we loved this place!!

The location was perfect - so close to the beach, plus a grocery store, several restaurants, and coffee shops were within walking distance. My family also loved the wetsuits, boogie boards, and bikes.

December Delights
Had a great time in Newport with some family from out of state. Enjoyed the bikes, boogie boards and wetsuits. The home was clean and well stocked. It was super helpful that all of the beach supplies were provided including the cart used to pack all of the chairs and towels needed for the day at the beach.
Super easy check in process and the owner was very responsive if we needed anything. We will look forward to another trip to Newport and a stay at the property.

Located about 30 seconds from the beach, this vacation rental was ideal. We loved the bikes, the beach equipment, and especially the location. The property manager was easy to work with and very helpful. We loved that this is just past the boardwalk so you have privacy and less traffic. The rental was clean and convenient. A dream just a walk away from the beach with all you need for the perfect weekend!
The listing was amazing! Lisa not only provided a lovely/clean space, but also everything/anything you needed. Complete with a binder of hidden gems and amenities (bikes/chairs/sand toys). My group traveled all the way for Minnesota and felt right at home. Definitely an annual listing for us!

Lovely Experience!
Our stay in Newport Beach was fantastic. The house is beautiful and bright and has everything you need! The location is an easy one minute walk to the beach. Lisa was very communicative and met us at check in to say hello and show us around. She continues to be available during our stay and even mailed us some items we left there. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Newport!

Great stay!
We loved staying here. Super comfortable home in great proximity to a fun beach. It has everything you need for the perfect beach vacation. Lisa was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We were there during a heatwave and super grateful for the AC in every room. Plus, with the windows closed it was very quiet inside despite the noises outside. Loved the comfy beds and the amazing shower. We are anxious to stay here again!
