About this house rental
Relaxation Central is a lovely lake side home which sits right on the water with a new boat dock and great views in Dunhams Bay in Lake George.
It is a 4 bedroom home with wonderful porches on the bedroom floor and the main floor which look right out on the lake. In the summer grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and sit outside your bedroom on the upstairs porch and enjoy watching the ducks on the lake, or do alittle fishing right on the docks. For early birds take your coffee to the 30 foot porch on the main level or right down to the dock for an up front and personal view of the lake. Evening cocktails and dinner are amaxing on the main porch! There is plenty of room for sitting on the various wicker furniture and or dining at the spacious outddoor dining table. Its a beautiful view of the lake and enjoyable to watch the kayakers or boaters going by as well right from the enclosed screen porch. After dinner watch the sunset from the porch or dock or light up the firepit and cook up some smores! Although there is a smart TV in the livingroom if the weather is good I'm betting you wont use it!
Relaxation Central is less than 15 minutes from exit 21 off the Northway, but a 100 miles away from the crazy lives we all lead. Bring your boat if your have one or rent one if you'd like from the marina right down the road. Swimming is right off the dock and the sunsets are awesome! We have two kayaks and a sunfish which you are welcome to use. We also have a 8 foot round floating sunning tube which is anchored off the dock. There are also a couple of floating tubes and noodles under the house.
If you are visiting us in the fall or winter there are many hiking trails in the area and skiers are within 1/2 hour from Gore Mountain and West Mountain and less than 2 hours from Whiteface Mountain. Hickory Ski Center in Warrensburgh is one of the most original mountains in upstate New York. There are several winter festivals on the lake and if you are a snowmobiiler there are over 100 + miles of trails connected to Lake George, many of which are grommed during the season. Cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas are plentiful in the area.
Take in the local sites or do nothing at all and enjoy a relaxing vacation at the lake! There are 4 bedrooms, one with a king bed and 2 with queen beds and a 4th with a king and a set of bunks.
Part of the house was built in 1895 and was one of the original fishing camps on the lake. We have reclaimed this side as well and this is the location of the 4th bedroom which includes a king and a set of bunks upstairs. It is the only room with has a vented portable air conditioner. Downstairs is a childrens playroom which also includes a pull out double sleeper sofa. This side of the house also has a new bathroom and another medium size dining room which is located in the site of the original camp kitchen. The original camp cooking stove is at the far end of the porch and is often used as a bar in the warmer months. The older camp side of the house does not have heat yet so check with us if you are looking to stay at the house in the cooler months. We do hope to have it heated in the future..
The main house has a full kitchen and living room, a bathroom with a tub shower, and a second bathroom with a toilet and sink. The porch on the main floor has a dining table which seats 8 as well as additional couches and chairs for sitting and eating. There is also a dining room inside which easily sits 6 to 8 and an overflow small room in the back of the kitchen for dining or playing games. The camp side has the 4th bedroom, new bathroom, child's playrom with pull out and the inside dining room in the camp kitchen. Both sides are connected through the main kitchen. There is no door there in the warmer months.
Lakeside living is casual and you'll enjoy your dining on the porches during the early summer to mid fall. There is a barbecue grill for cooking and also a seating area for evening respites. The docks are deep water docks and will easily house a 24 foot boat. Dunhams Bay is a no wake zone so your boat is very protected here. The water is pretty quiet for fishing and swimming too. Bring your poles - we have actually caught a pike right off the dock!

We loved the house and location. The view from the screened in decks is gorgeous. Everything was well maintained and clean. Plenty of life jackets and floaties for the lake and swimming off the dock was a blessing because it was in the 90s the week we were there. We had a great time with our children and grandchildren. I would have no problem recommending this property to friends and family.

Even though the weather was a mixed bag we enjoyed every minute. Hanging out on the porch was our favorite spot, great collection of blankets helped in the cold. By end of week it warmed up and we enjoyed our 64 degree swims. Our hostess was always available if needed, a great communicator. The cottage has everything we needed and more. It is very well outfitted. The beds are comfortable. There were more than enough bedrooms for our family of 6. Stairs were still doable for grandparents in their 70’s but would not work for anyone with mobility issues. Kudos to these owners for creating a welcoming and comfortable vacation home with curated “Lake decor”.

We absolutely loved our stay in Relaxation Cottage this past Columbus Day weekend despite the not so great weather we had for half of it. The lake house is so cozy and quaint and in the perfect location close to lake George village. We couldn’t get enough of the porches! Mornings out on the porch with a cup of coffee over looking the lake couldn’t get any better. And we enjoyed dinner out there as well. The decor was very inviting too with little twinkle lights that lit up fall decorations both my daughter and I loved. It’s nice to see a vacation rental (we’ve rented a fair share of houses over the years) that is maintained and decor changed with the seasons. The second and third night got pretty chilly so we took advantage of the fireplace and the board games they had there. Kim made everything very easy and responded to any questions I had right away. The house was very clean upon arrival and we had no issues with anything. Thank you Kim for allowing us to stay in your home. I’d recommend this house to anyone for all seasons!

Our stay was awesome at Relaxation Central! Being on the water on Lake George was so fun for the whole family! The swimming and kayaking was a blast. We had an unbelievable vacation at Relaxation Central. The house was immaculate and we were so excited for all the water activities at the dock… kayaking, swimming, fishing…as well as the fire pit at night. We spent most of our time watching the boats go by from the huge screened in porch and there are some great hiking trails very close to the house that we tried to visit daily. The house is close to town for picking up essentials, yet remote and peaceful on the protected cove it sits on. Kim really goes out of her way to make sure any questions are answered, and she takes pride in making sure you have the ideal vacation. I am so glad we had this experience at a perfect waterfront retreat.

This was the perfect location for our family, it was my husband and our 3 year old son and 7 month old son and my mother. The listing was exactly as described. We each had our own rooms, Kim had anything we could need including a pack and play with mattress that my son slept in (life saver). My toddler had a blast in the kid room, lots of toys to keep him busy. We spent our mornings having breakfast on the porch and our afternoons laying on lounge chairs out on the deck. It was a bit chilly to go swimming but if we had, there was a plethora or swim tubes and kayaks we could have used. There are a few stairs to get down to the house but we had no issues getting up and down. The fire pit was a nice touch for roasting marshmallows. Location was central to everything as well, just few minutes drive to the village or lovely Bolton landing, and even the Great adventure indoor water park. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying in this beautiful lakefront house in Dunhams Bay- Lake George was awesome! The house was fully stocked with everything you could need including firewood. Kim was a great host. It was great to witness beautiful sunsets every night of our stay. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We were a group of 6 adults and 2 children (ages 3-5). Wedding was just up the road. Great location, plenty of off road parking and spectacular views of the lake. The older section had toys the kids LOVED!! We had a social gathering after the wedding! Plenty of room and the kitchen was very well supplied.

My family and I stayed at Kim's home for a week in August. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 3 children ages 8-12. We had such a fantastic time on Lake George! First, the house was fabulous..the porch facing the lake was where we ate all our meals and enjoyed the view. Our children spent all day and into the night in the lake..the water was never cold and they loved to snorkel around looking at all the interesting fish in the water. There was even a large circular float that Kim provided which was already anchored in the water! Plus there was a water trampoline available which we inflated and put into the water which the kids loved. The kitchen was well equipped, Super Walmart close by so we only ate out 2 nights. The grill was great and cooking was a breeze. The camp side of the house is super cute and my kids loved the loft style bedroom that had a full and king size bed. The house had more than enough room where we were all comfortable! Kim's communication was more than adequate from start to finish. We also used the fire pit to make s'mores, sit around and just enjoy each others company.
I highly recommend booking a private boat tour with Adventure Boat Tours and Watersports! Ask for Nate as your tour guide. We all got to tube off the boat, tour the most interesting parts of the island while getting a wonderful history lesson, and the kids jumped off cliffs into the lake which was so much fun for them! We will be back! Thank you Kim!!

The photographs on website do not do this authentic Lake George home justice. It is far more beautiful and functional in person. It accommodated our extended family with ease. Everything is purpose-built, comfortable, and easy to use. Best, most comfortable vacation we've had in 20 years. Thank you !!

Location is perfect: on the water on a no-wake bay with an ideal view of the sunset from the porch. The house itself is perfect: roomy, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could want for a relaxing vacation. And Kim is the perfect host: always ready to answer any of your questions. Only wish we could have stayed all summer!

We loved our stay. We had everything we needed to just simply relax and enjoy. The porches were our favorite place to hang out and watch the boats go by. The dock was great and it was wonderful to be right on the lake. The house is delightful and big enough so everyone had space and privacy. It really has the feel of the Adirondacks. Kim is a very gracious host and was very helpful at all times. We can't wait to come back next year to experience the best of Lake George!

We had an incredible stay at Relaxation Central. The location was perfect, close to town but felt like it’s own oasis. There are steps to get to the house, but the view of the lake from the house is unbeatable. The house had everything we could possibly need and more. Loved the playroom and toys for my toddler, such a nice touch. We also had a good time playing games too. We kayaked multiple times a day and some of us swam in the cold lake and used the inner tube. Really appreciated the speed limit in the bay, it was quiet and serene and an easy kayak. Plenty of life jackets for all sizes. Loved the art and decorations - you can tell Kim really poured her love in the house. We used the lobster pot on the last night! The screened in porch was the definite highlight as expected, we made some great memories. Plenty of beds and incredibly comfortable and clean. Kim was readily available for all our questions. We would love to go back again!

This location, this house, is PERFECT.
The house is ON the Lake and the perfect distance from town to be easy to get to, but far enough away to feel a world away. The porch is long ad screened in, the only fully screened porch in the area, which makes perfect spot for a rainy day, morning coffee or just relaxing.
The house has everything you need, and is just so comfortable. In the main house, one King room and one Queen room that share their own porch, read a book, relax quietly, leave the door open at nice and listen to the outdoors .. just lovely.
The Camp side is it's own thing with beds in the loft, then it's own little living room and bathroom.
The dock is great for sitting, launching your boat, or for us, taking out kayaks for the first time. We loved the firepit, and the view of the stars.
This house is everything you need whether it's a bunch of friends or a family with kids, every possible need is met right here.
Kim is a gracious, attentive, accommodating and thoughtful hostess.
Did I mention it's right ON the Lake, which if you're headed to this area is what you want. you can't go wrong here, ,book now .... I promise you'll be thrilled.

We really enjoyed our stay at Relaxation Central. It was clean, comfortable, and quiet and….. relaxing! The kitchen was well equipped. We spent all of our free time on the porches enjoying the view, sunsets and fresh air.

We loved it all - the private location that was close to everything we needed, the new dock for our rental boat, the responsive owner, and the absolutely lovely house. The house had plenty of room for us and our young-adult children. We boated, kayaked, fished, swam, played guitar by the outdoor firepit, grilled steak, and relaxed on the large screened-in porches overlooking the lake. Each room in the house is unique and decorated very nicely with lake house charm. The house was spotless and easily felt like a home away from home. I can only hope we can go again next year! The property would not be suitable for anyone who has trouble on the stairs due to many steps from the parking to the house and from the house to the lake. The property owner is wonderful to work with - we absolutely loved our stay.

This property truly is beautiful. The covered porches are a major selling point. We spent so much of our time on the porch overlooking the Bay. The house is fully equipped with everything you need. It is easy to just make yourself at home. Kim is great with communicating and always available should you have any questions during your stay. We highly recommend this property for a family vacation.

Kim’s place was wonderful. The home overlooked the lake and it was such a beautiful view. It was also super clean, spacious for 6 people and decorated nicely. The home had everything ready for us and it was easy to check in. It was close to grocery stores, restaurants, and hikes. Kim was really responsive whenever I had a question and explained to us where everything was. We had a wonderful time and cannot wait to go back again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The porch is fabulous and the house is on a beautiful and quiet part of the lake. We loved the dock and the kayaks.The owners were great to work with and always responded to our inquiries quickly.Renters should note that there are a number of stairs to get from the driveway to the house., which could be an issue when bringing belongings in and out.

This is a beautiful home right on Lake George. We went in the off-season (April) but the location is close enough to everything but a far away for some tranquility. House has a dock right on the water. Screened in porches outside the bedrooms and main floor. Great to eat/hang out/sit & read. Plenty of room for a family gathering. We didn't use the whole house. TVs allow you to watch your own Netflix, Amazon, DisneyPlus, etc. I would gladly recommend or stay here again. Kim is a great host!
