Tahoe Getaways made for an excellent stay during a very trying snow storm that saw us needing to extend stays on both sides of the visit. The house was exactly what we thought it was and wanted, and was well supported for the snow storm with shovels and a driveway plow.

We were very impressed with this amazing house. All of the appliances appeared to be brand new and the sleep accommodations were very comfortable. We love the location and would come again!

This property has a true cabin feeling. Cozy but did not have dishwasher!!!
My dogs had to go to ER vet because something in the house made then break out in hives. We had a mega snow storm and he street and driveway were not plowed.

Overall great stay!
We have stayed at Pineland Chalet 3 or 4 times and have always had a fantastic time with our 2 boys (15 and 17). This time we brought our dog which was an added bonus. I am giving 4 stars because some of the dinner plates from the cupboard were stuck together. We had to soak them to get them apart and since there's no dishwasher at this rental, it means dirty plates. Also, we didn't have a new sponge or any dish soap and were only provided with 2 dish towels for the week. When drying dishes for every meal, 2 towels are not enough. I was going to throw them in the dryer, however, there were wet sheets and towels that must have been left from the previous renters and they were sour and made the whole dryer sour smelling. I did call and housekeeping brought a sponge and a bottle of dish soap the same day.

Poor internet
Cozy house. Enjoyed the 5 day stay but suggest you change your internet provider as the internet connectivity is poor to non-existent. It made our stay very frustrating as could not access the internet and had to leave the house just to connect.

Unable to fix for two weeks
I have been renting property at Lake Tahoe for 40 years. Internet and cell service has become more important over the last 15 years. The mountain terrain presents challenges to these services. To be specific the cell service was one bar at best and the wifi service, which is necessary to supplement the cell service kept going on and off all day. Effectively making it very difficult to call or email anytime during the day. To make a long story short Tahoe Getaways could not get anyone out to fix the wifi during the two weeks I was there. Totally unacceptable in my opinion.
The property was really a ski house not an all-season house. Not a great house to rent during the summer particularly with no cell or internet service.

Need newer pots and pans
Outside trash can was full before we got there. Need pest control service. There were big black ants in living room area.

Great location. House was lacking in expected rental amenities such as a dishwasher, stereo system. Furniture was very old and tired. TV was old, poor picture quality and located under the stairwell. Light fixture above the old dining table was literally plug into a wall socket that you had to bend down and turn on by hand. Honestly I have never seen that - even in crappy college apartments. The hot water was turned up dangerously high. It was scolding hot. Instruction said to leave dishes in the dishwasher upon checking out, which of course was impossible as the house had no dishwasher. The dish dry rack was old and dirty. Overall for the price that was charged, this house should have been more modern and nicer. I understand it was during the holiday period and an up charge is applied...but this was price gouging. I have rented from you before. As a company you will need to decide if it is better to maximize rental pricing - seasonally - but offer a poor quality /value - and risk losing my business forever...or provide a more reasonable price/value relationship and secure a long term customer. If the house was priced appropriately for the offerings and condition I would have been fine with it.

Tahoe Getaways staff were very professional and had strong interpersonal skills.
Location was perfect for hiking and ease to the Lake. Also, we greatly appreciated being able to bring our dogs (we had brought portable fencing for them for outside and at night inside). Older cabin with updated bathrooms and kitchen (although, no dishwasher), downstairs flooring and trex deck in the front and a washer and dryer. Friendly suggestions: take carpet out of bedrooms, have dish towels, dish clothes, hand towels and shower mats available. We purchased some because we were staying for 3 weeks. Overall, a very good experience. Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay at Pineland CHalet and would recommend it to others. Location is perfect for those wanting to be close to Sunnyside on the West Shore. The layout was functional and is good for two couples or for families with kids. Would suggest supplying basics like salt & pepper and some herbs, and perhaps oil & vinegar for cooking. Also, a supply of paper filters for the coffee maker which has a specific size basket. Perhaps a tea kettle for making tea as well. Small tweaks which would make it 5+ !! Thanks

We loved the location - moments away from the lake & Sunnyside yet almost at the end of the houses so we felt away from everyone. We could hear the creek across the street & so enjoyed long walks up the road, hearing the rushing water the whole time. Heavenly!

Overall it was good but the stairs leading to the house was covered with snow/ice therefore was very slippery - since the overall conditions have improved around the area, would have expected it to be cleaned prior to arrival. Also the house is for 8 people but there were not enough plates, glasses etc for 8 people.

Had a wonderful time at this Pineland chalet. Perfect location close to Tahoe City, and only a 15 minute drive from Alpine. The cabin was extremely clean, and had a nice balance of a cabin feel with modern touches. The property management company was great to work with. We would definitely stay here again!

The cabin is nicely appointed and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a complete meal. The beds were comfortable and had nice linens, The driveway is steep, and getting to the top probably requires 4wd or chains in heavy snow conditions.

Reviewer Comments:
Pineland Chalet was clean, not overly-decorated (just the right amount of bear motifs!), well situated, and mostly quiet. It's one of the last houses in the neighborhood, with quiet neighbors - except for the add-on construction across the street. After a huge travel day and arriving late on our first night, lights out finally by 12:30 am, we were awakened at 7:15 by electric saws, hammering and boards dropping into place across the street. Weekday mornings had construction, but quiet on weekends. Beds were a little soft, but comfortable, sheets of good quality, kitchen stocked well enough, but dishes and glasses were well out of reach for a 5'2.5" person! Wi-Fi was exceptional. Old construction meant you hear every step, but added to the charm of the chalet. Kitchen and bathrooms were surprising how updated they were, which made for a comfortable stay.

good experience overall - very clean and comfy cabin - had issue with furnace and yellow jacket wasps and both issues were immediately addressed - nice neighborhood with creek, park and close to bike trail, sunnyside and tahoe city - cell service and wifi was spotty but didn't really mind since it is vacation after all! would return in the future...

Enjoyed staying at the Pineland Chalet with my family. House was very comfortable, clean & newly renovated. Kitchen was well equipped. I would stay here again. Be aware that two of the three bedrooms are very small, while the third large bedroom sleeps 4 and can get crowded. So everyone will be spending their time in the common area. Only negative was that there was a very slight smell of smoke in the house. I don't know if this was from prior use of the fireplace or someone had smoked cigarettes. It was supposed to be a smoke free home.

We were very happy with the Pineland Chalet and the rental agency! It was a great little getaway. Perfect for playing in the snow with the little one and the dog in the backyard. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Definitely bring a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The driveway is steep and did get icy.
