About this house rental
The Sandbar House, a summer vacation home in Wesquage, Narragansett, overlooks Narragansett Bay and Bonnet Shores with a view of the island of Jamestown and historic Beavertail Lighthouse ( the first lighthouse to be built in Rhode Island). The sprawling front yard, with lots of room for play, is the only thing that lies between you and the beach sand. The back yard includes a private stone patio; a fully enclosed out door shower and changing room as well as a beautiful fish pond. Off the front of the house is a beautify deck that overlooks the beach and includes patio furniture and a gas grill. Swim, surf, kayak, fish, and build a castle in the sand! Play in tide pools and catch a crab or a starfish; walk the beach in the moonlight or gather seashells by day.
The first floor includes a TV Room with a 42” wall mounted TV with sleep sofa and love seat; a sun room, living room, full bathroom, laundry room, and the Sand Bar Lounge; a family bar that has existed since 1970.
The second floor has a large living room and dining room with windows across the front that look out over the ocean. There is also access to the screened in porch and front deck which delivers panoramic views of the ocean and beach. The living room includes a 42” of TV, wireless internet and cable TV. The second floor also includes a fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom & bath, and two guest bedrooms - one with a queen bed and the other with two sets of bunk beds. Both guest bedrooms share a full bathroom. Relax, and succumb to the charm of Wesquage.

Amazing Location on the Water! My favorite part of the House was the Screened in Porch!

The owner and property manager were very responsive. The location and view was amazing. The upstairs of the home was nice, but the basement with the "4th bedroom " was musty, hot, and smelled. Also, there was no door on the room, just a curtain. Therefore, we couldn't use the 4th room which was very much needed. My husband and I slept on the couches. Thankfully it was only a long weekend. Also, the AC units barely worked and we had some issues with the heat which was promptly resolved. I noticed the house is going under repairs, but to pay the amount we paid I was disappointed, and not having that bottom level was a tight squeeze for us.

Lovely older home in a spectacular location right on Bonnet shores beach. So many spaces for the family to gather - inside and out

Sandbar House was the ideal place for our family to stay while in RI for our son’s graduation. Beautifully situated right on the water. The house was spotless and provided plenty of space for the eight of us. The amenities were great, fully stocked kitchen and a nice grill to use. The house was also easily accessible for our guests that needed to be on one floor and not have to deal with stairs. The owner and the caretaker were excellent in communicating and making sure our stay was first rate.

Beautiful location and comfortable space, we loved every minute at The Sandbar House.

We absolutely loved this house. The old school charm of an old beach house with plenty of space and new amenities. The houses proximity the beach is a rare find. The only thing to note would be how strict the neighborhood is. We sat with members from the other side of side of the beach and the neighbors complained to the owner that we had too many people sitting on the beach. The owner and the beach security was very understanding and talked to the neighbors for us. All in all we loved this house and had a fantastic stay.

We have stayed at the Sandbar House for 2 years and loved it. The house provides all the necessary things such as linens and beach chairs, towels. Our favorite part of the home is the screened-in porch! Primary bedroom and living room are air conditioned. The beach is great for kids!

The Sandbar house was complete with all of the comforts and amenities of home. The host and caretaker were always available and concerned about our comfort and needs. The proximity to the beach was amazing, just a few steps away. The house was spotless making our transition into vacation mode easy. We wish we had booked for two weeks. We would have loved to stay longer. I highly recommend staying at Sandbar house. Loved it!!

Second year renting for a golf weekend. Only regret is not staying at the house more. Big deck, backyard on the ocean. H sr the the waves crashing into the rocks. Amazing!

Overall we had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this house. You were responsive and helpful. As a VRBO Owner myself, I noted a few minor suggestions: I think it would be preferable to have the manager reach out to the renter for the access code but it was a minor inconvenience. As the fireplace is non-functioning, that should be included in the listing. Some night lights would be a nice touch as would some extra blankets. I stayed in the bunk room and would have appreciated some lighting to the bathroom at night. The garbage cans outside needed cleaning currently. Definately a 5⭐ experience overall.

The best part of the house is easily the deck and views. The location was great. The house was clean/in good condition. Communication with the owner and manager was good. It looks like improvements are planned for the home. Two nice sized bedrooms. Would recommend for a family with young children who would enjoy bunkbeds. Not sure that the basement sleeping arrangements are truly usable as it was musty. All in all a very nice home with absolutely spectacular views.

The house is steps from the ocean with amazing views from almost every room. It is a warm and welcoming comfortable house. The owners are easy to communicate and work with. The beds, couches, and pillows are all very comfortable. The house is extraordinarily clean. We tried towhee everything down when we arrived and found absolutely no dirt, grime or dust.

The Sandbar was the perfect spot for our group of friends. We were up for the weekend and it was a slice of paradise for us. The water-view and sound of the waves made are unmatched. The house has plenty of space and cool private nooks. Will definitely be back !

Major road construction, outdoor shower not useable, basement had bad mildew smell, not a 4th bedroom; air mattress for 4th bed, mold in upstairs AC, mold in master shower and on 2nd bath shower curtain. Ants in basement, parking limited. Screened in porch not useable in rain because of multiple leaks. Access to beach was awesome; too bad the house is not maintained at all. Paths around property dangerous as rock steps unstable. Hut with beach chairs hard to reach with large tree blocking.

Our 2nd stay, just perfect.

This property is perfectly located with direct beach access and a gorgeous view of Jamestown. We very much enjoyed the living room with this view and the deck off the living room, with comfortable furniture. We were unable to use the downstairs bedroom with the queen sofa because of the humidity and musty smell - this is a problem that changing the type of windows in the room or running a dehumidifier would solve, beyond the suggestions that we keep the curtains closed when the rooms were not in use. Potential renters should know that they'll be asked to feed the koi in the pond in the backyard daily - not a problem for us but it shouldn't have been a surprise. Overall we had a lovely family vacation in this house, which was comfortable and in an excellent location for the beach and shopping in Wickford and going to restaurants in Narragansett, Newport, etc.

This wonderful ocean front home did more than meet our expectations. We were celebrating my daughters college graduation, and she had asked for a family weekend of relaxing and a small family gathering. The location and it's privacy of the beach is amazing. It is exceptionally clean and the house has nice linens and supplies. We had an issue with a toilet handle and they sent someone right over on a Sunday to repair it. The house has charm and you can tell has many family memories which is what we were striving for. We will definitely be back!

This property was beautiful. The views of the ocean and location were perfect for us. the oversized decks were great and provided a lot of room. Bunk room was amazing for the kids. plenty of food options, pharmacy, liquor store, coffee shops very close.
Very clean for a beach house. 1 room had a pull out couch with a not-so-great mattress - but overall the 4 bedrooms really worked for our family. Parking was tough if you had more then 3 cars. The property manager was excellent.

Myself and my family highly recommend this cottage! One of the nicest beaches in Rhode Island and very child friendly. I cannot say enough about the house and property. The family back story about this home is wonderful. If anyone considers this property don't hesitate, you won't be sorry! Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Sincerely Cindy Szymaszek and family

We had a wonderful time at the property. Amazing location directly on the water and we loved our little in-house Piano bar. A very relaxing getaway - We would definitely stay here again!

We spent two nights thoroughly enjoying the deck views, walks on the beach, sitting in the grass and relaxing. Four couples were able to each have their own rom and the house was fully equipped with everything we needed. We’ll be back!!

The pictures do not do justice to this amazing property. The grounds are beautiful and the views are unsurpassed! There are many private nooks in the house. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
