This modernized, air conditioned, non-smoking, family friendly beach cottage, is part of a well maintained duplex. It's located in the prime, centrally located town of Ocean Beach, San Diego.
The property is well managed and maintained by the owners who occupy the adjacent duplex unit (we share a wall as well as backyard fence), so you can rest assured you are the sole guest allowing for rest, relaxation, and fun.
Our rental unit is ideal for those vacationers and families seeking a place to retreat for relaxation after a day at the beach. We encourage all potential guests to consider what it is they want out of their precious vacation time and make sure that this quieter, non-partying location is a good fit.
We allow up to 2 medium sized dogs with an additional $75 pet fee, but please keep in mind that even the best behaved dogs can act differently in a new environment. They will miss you when you are gone and may bark and howl more than they do at your home. If you intend to spend most of the trip without your dog, please consider if it is a good idea to bring your dog as they cannot be left alone for more than 2 hours. Dogs also cannot be left outside unattended at any time. We live here and have dogs ourselves. We expect that barking is curtailed quickly as we will do the same with ours. Please let us know when you book/submit a request if you would like to bring your dog(s) along.
For our guests who work remotely the home has: Gigabit Ethernet Switch (located behind the TV). 3 available access ports to improve connectivity during work-from-home situations. Average internet speeds of 170+Mbps down, 10+Mbps up. Ethernet cables available upon request.
**There are security cameras on the property. They are exterior and are trained on front and back gates and parking spaces.**
We are close enough to the ocean (1 block) such that you can hear the surf and sea lions at night. Stroll down in the morning with your coffee to check the surf and be in the water shortly thereafter.
This location is ideal for those seeking either a high walk-ability factor or as convenient launch point to day and night adventures allowing for a rich Southern California experience.
Ocean Beach offers a unique blend of energy, diversity, and soul. As the saying goes, 'Ocean Beach: its an attitude not a place'. From hacky sacking, hula hooping, and people watching by the grass flat near the pier, to the weekly Farmers Market with Live Music, shopping, and awesome fresh fare, to the vast offering of dining ranging from fish tacos to romantic fine dining there's something for everyone here and you'll be but minutes by foot to take it in at this rental.
Our unit features 2 comfortable queen sized beds, central AC/heat, plenty of private yard space, a high end kitchen, two flat screen TV's with cable, free NetFlix streaming, and Roku3. Tank-less water heaters allow for relaxing post ocean swim showers, followed up with unwinding in a comfortable living room.
You'll have off street uncovered alley parking that allows for one full sized car, mid sized SUV, minivan, or mid sized Truck which is very desirable in this area. Sorry but no RV's or tandem parking. If you chose, the property is a $20 cab ride from the airport, so if you're looking to stay local, a rental car may not be needed. With cabs, bikes, and the trolley, a reasonably energetic person will fare very well!
We have boogie boards and surf boards, some fishing gear, beach chairs, and an umbrella for your use. There is a shared (with us) washer and dryer for your use on the property. You will have a Weber gas grill with plenty of propane for your use.
If you decide to book with us, we will email you a welcome letter with the necessary information you will need to get to the home shortly after booking. Your personalized contract/pet terms (if applicable) will be attached. We ask that they are returned to us within 72 hours of receipt. We will need you to provide an email address for us to send these documents to you.

This was our first time using Vrbo so we were a little nervous as to what to expect. This place was exactly as described and more! We drove in from Arizona and the directions to the house were absolutely spot on. All communication from the hosts were timely, clearly written and friendly. They provided anything that you could ever need. From the dog bed, towels (for humans and dogs), beach toys, every kitchen dish and utensil you could need, coffee, creamer...absolutely everything was provided! Honestly, the only things you'd need to bring are your toothbrush, paste, body lotion and suntan lotion. The place is clearly a labor of love and so wonderfully decorated. It felt as if we were in our own home. Adrienne and Rich are wonderful hosts and super nice people. They answered our texts promptly and were happy to give us recommendations for restaurants. The location is perfect.. an easy 3 minute walk to the beach (they even have beach chairs that you can wear on your back so you can be hands free!), close to so many restaurants, coffee shops, farmers market and convenience store. The private back yard is so comfortable (we spent a lot of our time back there after our days on the beach). I could go on and on but just know this... If you book dates to stay here, you won't be disappointed. We will absolutely be staying with them again!

My husband, 17 year old nephew, 2 pups and I just returned from a 3-night stay at this property. It was better than expected with ample room for the 5 of us. The hosts thought of everything and had all of the supplies we needed. Enjoyed using the kitchen for some meals, the backyard for the pups, and of course the proximity to the beach. The hoses and shower outside were so handy to get the sand off after our adventures. Thank you for a lovely stay! Highly recommend.

The property was clean and comfortable and exactly as advertised. Rich and Adrienne were available by text or phone if we had any questions. They checked in to make sure everything was good, sent us a link to things to do in OB, and let us check in early. It was great! We highly recommend this property!

Love this place and the owners. This is our 4rth year , returning as an annual family tradition now. Friendly to our pets, and we all enjoy the San Diego vibe, Ocean Beach and Dog Beach. Our pets are at home and secure there. There are plenty of facilities to keep up with beach house sand/salt water cleanup so the mess does not build up. Quiet and respectful neighbors and environment all around. We feel welcome and fit in. Really enjoy our stays there!

First and foremost Rich and Adrienne's communication was excellent- veryresponsive. And it's obvious that they take pride in keeping up their home. We used to rent out our beach house and were premiere hosts as well and we got from this host just what we gave to our guests. I highly recommend staying here! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

This property was just as described! The location was absolutely perfect and it had everything we needed for our stay and more! A personal thing for me was I wish the beds were a little less firm but that is personal preference! Otherwise the communication was amazing and all the beach gear worked wonderfully! Would definitely stay here again!

The location was great...walking distance to the beach and great restaurants, and close to so many of the attractions we wanted to visit. This property was an outstanding choice. It was well-stocked with many items we didn't expect. The beds were comfy and everything was clean. The location is a block from Ocean Beach and about 4 blocks from numerous restaurants. The proximity from the beach is critical if that is your main entertainment. The owners supply a great selection of high-quality beach items so you'll have a fairly big load of things to carry for a great day on the beach. I loved that some of us could go, some could stay and we could walk back if we forgot something. You'll have a spacious, off-street parking space. There are so many things to do and see only 10-30 minutes away. Highly recommend!

We had a great week at Ocean Beach! The property was perfect for our family of four and there was plenty of room for our dog to relax and stretch her legs in the backyard. Location was perfect - a five minute (max) walk to the dog beach and to the restaurants in town. The cottage was extremely clean, had very comfortable beds (and soft linens and towels), and the kitchen was well stocked. The beach gear was also top quality. I wish we had had more time. We will definitely try to stay here again when we are in Ocean Beach again!

We had a wonderful time at this place! The property was just as advertised, and we had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The location is hard to beat, and it walkable to many different places in the Ocean Beach community as well as a short drive to downtown. Having the dedicated parking place was clutch! Great hosts, and I highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the San Diego area for vacation.

Cute beach cottage with great location. Very close to the beach, restaurants, and coffee shops. My toddler appreciated the outdoor area. Check in process was smooth and I was grateful the reserved parking space, as we had a lot of stuff traveling with 2 kids. Overall, the space worked well for us for the few days we were there.

Very clean house with a nice fenced backyard. The owner thought of everything that you possibly could need if you arrive with dogs (couch cover, very high fence, even a dog bed). Very good beds, nice bed rooms, fully functional kitchen with Kitchen Aid and Bosch appliances. Highly recommended, especially if you stay for longer. It was hard for us to leave.

We spent our Spring Break (Family w/ 14yo girl and 12yo boy) at Rich & Adrienne's spot, and had a fantastic time! The home is exactly as advertised, Rich and Adrienne are great hosts (feel better, Rich!!), and OB is just amazing if you like cool, finky, and mellow beach towns, in a huge city...
I cannot say enough good things about the stay and the hospitality. Everything we needed was there, and Rich and Adrienne were always available if needed.
We had an amazing time, and will likely return if we can!

We had a great stay at Rich and Adrienne's play in Ocean Beach. The place is clean, bright and delightful. It's in a great neighborhood, walking distance to the beach, coffeeshops, stores, etc. To have a designated parking space was amazing and made the stay less hectic as we were coming and going to events all weekend. Rich and Adrienne were very attentive yet allowed for privacy at the same time. We highly recommend their place and would stay there again.

My family and I were so grateful for this home, the amenities, perfect location and communication. We loved the backyard space, perfect for my 2 year old to romp. The walk to the beach is literally twoish minutes and the home is walkable to lots of amazing food and shops! This home was the best and a rejuvenating getaway for me and my fam.

This property was perfect for my stay with my 2 dogs. The beach was a short walk away. It was quiet and felt safe. Loved having my own parking spot so I could come and go any time and not worry about parking. That is like hitting the jackpot in San Diego.
