About this house rental
Sixth on the Park is just north of Market Street across from Bicentennial Park - stroll to the Riverwalk! Built in 1996 and fully refurnished in early 2014, enjoy the comfort of recent construction while in the midst of historic homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s. The house has plenty of outdoor living space: a fenced in garden, a screened back porch and a welcoming sitting porch out front for greeting the neighbors out walking their dogs (pets are welcome upon approval). Inside, Sixth on the Park features queen beds in the front and back bedrooms and a bunk bed that sleeps three in the middle bedroom (double bottom, single top).
Extremely close to Thalian Hall and only 6 blocks from the river boardwalk, you can easily walk to everything that makes downtown the place to be: casual to fine dining, hip coffee houses, museums, art galleries, antique shops, the excellent county library, horse drawn carriage rides, Shops of Old Wilmington or the Cotton Exchange, historic tours, Ghosts of Wilmington Tour, haunted pub crawls, Wilmington’s Farmer’s Market (April – December), the Azalea Festival (April), Riverfest (October), the Brooklyn Arts Center, the NC Battleship (take a ferry from Water St.), PPD, Cape Fear Community College, and the new convention center.
Experience the night life and then walk back to the house for the quiet of our comfortable home. If you have a car, there is one private parking spot at the end of the driveway and an abundance of free on-street parking. Wrightsville beach is approximately a 15 minute car ride from the house with Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Ft. Fisher (home to the NC Aquarium) being 30-45 minutes away. The city offers many spots for children: Fit for Fun on 10th Street(ages 6 mo. to 5 yrs.), The Children's Museum located downtown on 2nd and Orange (ages 2 to 10ish), Monkey Joe's, Jungle Rapids, skating rinks, an ice skating house, the list goes on.
Relax and enjoy your stay... Get the best of what Cape Fear has to offer - the cultural attractions of downtown and the not-so-far-away beach!

Our son is based in Wrightsville Beach in the Coast Guard and we came to visit for the weekend. The house was perfect. We had big family breakfast every morning and did a painting night. We walked to town for lunch and ice cream. Everything was delightful. Would definitely recommend!!

The home was just as pictured. Kitchen and bath towels are fully stocked. Property managers are friendly and responsive. The location could not have been better! It was a short 10 minute walk to the areas best restaurants. We would love to return for a future stay.

We spent three months in this house and found it very comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhoods with our dog and met many friendly people. We enjoyed walking down town for coffee or a meal and soon were able to get around Wilmington fairly easily.
We used the back yard as a place for our dog to run. It was blooming beautifully when we had to leave.
We found the managers friendly and were quick to fix a small problem that we had.

Perfect location for a visit to Wilmington. We were able to walk downtown and to the venues for my son's wedding. If you have any issues, communication with the property manager is easy and simple, and they are pleasant to work with. We had forgotten some clothing after leaving town, and they shipped it to us the next day. The house was clean and had everything we needed, especially a washer and dryer.

This fit the bill for us. Very comfortable house with plenty of room for us and a wonderful location that was within walking distance to the Riverfront and to the Brooklyn Arts space where we attended a wedding! Very easy to get around and a lovely visit!

Couldn’t ask for much more in a house for our family. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants/breweries and the river walk. Also, A/c kept us nice and cool during the extreme heat. Would definitely stay again.

The house has everything we needed and the location was perfect. We could walk to everything downtown. A park right across the street was great for our dog to run around.
We were given the check-in information ahead of time. Very easy arrival and departure.

This house it in a perfect location which is by far its biggest selling point. The neighborhood is quiet, safe, an easy walk to downtown Wilmington, a short drive to the grocery and shopping, and a short drive to several nice beaches (we like Kure Beach best). Be aware that the house is on the airport flight path but the noise is mainly during daylight hours and rarely a bother. The property manager went above and beyond in accommodating a last minute schedule change that worked in our favor. The house itself is nice enough. The layout is fine and furniture and queen bed reasonably comfortable (we didn't sleep in the other beds). The galley kitchen is small and awkward but well equipped. The bathrooms are very small and awkward but there are three so you can make do. FYI no bar soap or shampoo is provided. If you visit in cooler weather note that the first floor is cool, drafty, and the temperature generally uncomfortable. Also the water heater is too small. Two of us ran out of hot water once so if you are a larger group, plan accordingly. Our biggest complaint was the filthy floors. We've been traveling for several years now and this is our 22nd long term rental and by far, the dirtiest floors we've seen. It's not uncommon to find floors that need a thorough mopping when we arrive at a new rental, but we had to scrub these floors by hand, changing the water four times (color of coffee) before we finished.
Now that the floors are clean, I would recommend staying here when visiting Wilmington. The house is fine and you could not ask for a better location.

No Surprise Here
Home was exactly as described.
We had a great time with our little family. Park and basketball courts directly across the street were too convenient with a toddler and dog. Neighbors are quite friendly. Morning walks were lovely. Very easy walk into the downtown area for morning coffee or dinner.
Highly recommend

Near Downtown
This is a very nice property within easy walking distance of the historic downtown. The neighborhood is all residential and pleasant.
As a side note, you really should try the restaurant Savorez, which is a five minute walk down Chestnut. Edward Teach Brewery is a nice stop as well, but more like a ten minute walk.

So Convenient!!!
This one deserves five stars all around. We've always stayed near or on the beach so this was a roll of the dice. This house is very clean and located within 6-7 blocks from Riverfront. There's a lot of great restaurants there. I like to work out and found hills near Front St to run up and down. There's a basketball court right across the street which is very convenient. Grocery stores are within driving distance. Rachel was on point with her communication and our security damage deposti was back in my account within 3 business days of us leaving. I highly recommend.

Great home in historic neighborhood
Our family stayed at this home while helping my daughter look for a home in the area. This was a great home base and was very convenient to all areas of the city. The house was well stocked and I loved sitting on front porch with coffee each morning and watching a neighborhood basketball game at the park across the street. I hope we can stay another visit some time. Thank you for a great week!

Nice house
Pros- The home and kitchen are fully stocked with everything that you would need. The furniture is comfortable and clean. The house is located within walking distance to the Riverfront, several breweries, across the street from a park. Carolina Beach is about 25 minutes away and Wrightsville is about 20 minutes. Out of the two, we would recommend Wrightsville Beach.
Cons - the beds are uncomfortable. You wake up very sore and stiff. We personally were not a fan of downtown Wilmington. Definitely a drug and homeless problem.
Overall we enjoyed the house. Our negative connotation is the city, not the house. We are not fans of Wilmington and will not be visiting this city again.

Clean, comfortable, stylish and great location
The location is excellent - a leafy street with owner-occupied historic homes and a diverse population of neighbors and passersby. All systems and equipment in the house functioned perfectly. The house is nicely renovated and very comfortable. The location is perfect for strolls to the downtown and waterfront area in this very pleasant city.

The Wonderful Wilmington Downtown
Our family group of two grandparents, two adult children, one spouse and one two year old grandchild loved this home. Well appointed, easily accomodating of the six of us, and situated in a wonderfully mixed neighborhood close to everything. We loved the little park and the basketball courts directly across the street, both using these and watching others use them.
This was a perfect family getaway for us West Michigan folk in late winter. The weather was delightful, the local culture compelling, and the home itself a perfect fit for our needs. On top of this the managing agent was straight forward and easy to work with throughout. We shall return!

Great location
We had a wonderful stay at this home. The location is absolutely ideal in terms of proximity to downtown Wilmington activities. Additionally, it was easy to navigate to other attractions such as Carolina/Kure beach, the aquarium, Airlie Gardens, etc. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking and preparing meals. The pictures and description accurately portray the rental.

Close to everything!!!
This home was so neat and clean. It was very close to all the brewerys and restaurants. My husband and I love to walk so it was very conveniently located to all the neighborhoods we liked walking to. Thanks for allowing us to share your home! We absolutely loved staying here...in fact we're thinking of booking it next February.

Great Stay for Ironman
Came to Wilmington for Ironman 2016. Our stay at 6th on park for the seven days was wonderful. The house was really nice and had everything we needed.
We enjoyed sitting on the porch swing during down time. The neighbors were very friendly and having the basketball court across the street was also a plus for more fun times. We spent a lot of time back and forth to town so the location from the house for walking was ideal. We visited the beaches and Arlie gardens which were not to far a drive. We would highly recommend staying in this home for anyone visiting the area. Working with the property manager was very pleasurable as well.

Son's Wedding
My family and I stayed at 6th on Park for 10 days. We were in Wilmington for my Son's wedding. Having the house was very convenient as we had some baking to do. It was also a short walk from downtown.
The home is very clean, comfortable and roomy. It has just about everything you'd need including laundry room. Welcome book, maps etc. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends!

Exploring Wilmington
My wife and I came to Wilmington to explore it as a potential retirement location and to have a short vacation. Sixth on the Park was an ideal location for us, we had off street parking, the park across the street to walk our dog, (they even had a poop bag disposal, very convenient) and the local people were polite and freinddly. We could walk to downtown, restaurants, bars, the river walk and some of the antique shops and getting to Wrightsville beach and out of town was easy on Martin Luther King Blvd or Market Street. The area is beautiful with many beautiful old trees and buildings and many restored turn of the last century homes. The house was spotless and tastefully new inside with all the necessary appliances, my wife was delighted there was a washing machine and dryer. We will stay there again and recommend it to anyone wanting a convenient location to explore the heart of Wilmington.

Sixth on the Park lovely downtown location
We rent a vacation house every year in the Wilmington area, in order to see family. It's three generations staying together: parents, grown children, grandchild, and dog. Usually, we stay at the beach. This past Thanksgiving, we decided to stay downtown, since most of the beach shops are closed for the season, and it's cold. Sixth on Park gave us great walk-able access to downtown. We stayed with our two-year old granddaughter, and walked with her (in stroller) to the Children's Museum (which was fun). Everyone who stayed walked the six blocks to the riverfront, and enjoyed the shops and restaurants. The house is pet-friendly, and we were grateful that our Boxer Lulu could enjoy the holiday with the family. There's even a little fenced back yard, for a dog to explore. The house itself feels new: is exceptionally clean, well furnished, comfortable, and welcoming. There's a porch swing in the front and one in the arbor in back, too. (Tried them both with the grandbaby.) Great energy. Lovely fireplace, reliable WIFI. Management was friendly and easy to work with. We've rented a lot and the "no hassle" aspect of this place was great: comes with real towels, sheets, etc. and a big washer/drier for family needs. The neighbors were friendly. And, it's only about a 20 minute drive to the beach!
