About this house rental
Scandinavian modern lakefront home with dock. Bring the family, boat, and pets! Spacious home boasts lake views from nearly every window, and faces West for amazing sunsets! Walk on the beach, then play in the warm waters of Devils Lake. Ask about current occupancy limits and additional infants.
Brannholm is a 1973 Scandinavian modern lodge featuring cedar walls, knotty pine ceilings, and windows along the south and west sides of the home, providing lake views from nearly every room. The home has new comfortable furnishings, but preserves the fun of the original design's nautical, retro rustic, and Scandinavian details. At 3200 square feet, it is one of the most spacious homes available on the lake.
The great room is around 1000 square feet, with an open floorplan centered on a modern rock gas fireplace. One side has ample seating and 75 inch flat screen TV, perfect for watching sports or a web meeting for a corporate retreat. the other side has lakeview dining for the whole family. The dining area flows into a double galley kitchen, featuring a gas stove and indoor grill, with space for the whole family to cook together. At the opposite end of the kitchen, you will find a breakfast nook, dry bar, and sunroom with extra space for yoga or morning reflection.
The upstairs "guest" bedroom is private, and features a king sized bed with a crib available and a small tv. (Baby gate and high chair also provided).
Downstairs opens to the lakefront patio, where you can fish from our dock or soak your cares away in our hot tub.
The downstairs "camp" bedroom features lake views, a queen sized bed, 2 twins on a bunk bed, and an extra twin mattress. There is also a full rollaway that can be set up here.
The downstairs master bedroom features lake views and a queen sized bed, and a small tv.
There is also extra sleeping upstairs, the great room daybed is a twin sleeper, and the great room futon makes into a full sized bed.
If guests are not sharing beds, please let us know so that we can help you plan who will sleep where; baby crib is always available. Quality linens and Pendleton blankets are provided for all beds.
You'll find the home equipped with coffee, tea, staples, and basic spices. There are also games for all ages, children and adult books.
The kitchen is set up for cooking: toaster, coffeepot, espresso machine, looseleaf teapot, rice cooker, wok, stick blender, regular blender, cookie sheets, pizza pan, muffin pan, cake pans, roaster, casserole, pots, pans, popcorn popper, bread machine, food processor. If you are planning a special meal, we can send an inventory so you know what (if anything) you need to bring.

Use the dock for your boat, or to launch your canoe. We provide 2 kayaks, and life vests. There is a fenced dog run and upper lot where you can play croquet, volleyball, or toss a football. Secure storage is available for your bikes or other gear. A public boat launch is less than a mile away.
The house is all yours! We have prepared extensive instructions and a kitchen map, but are happy to answer any questions during your stay by text, phone, or email.
This home is close to the beaches of Lincoln city, and is on the less populated East Side of Devils Lake for sunset views. Devils lake is much warmer than the Pacific, and is popular for swimming, canoeing/kayaking/SUP, boating, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and wave running. The lake effect gives us sun even when the beach or the valley is fogged in! Most coastal attractions are an easy day trip from this location.
Birds abound here in all seasons. In summer, you'll see hummingbirds, osprey, swallows, egrets, herons, kingfishers, and other water birds. In winter, there are eagles, owls, blackbirds, mergansers, grebes and ducks. Rare visitors may make an appearance, such as pileated woodpecker, or the northern spotted owl.
The Siuslaw National Forest is just uphill from our home, with old logging roads now trails that can be explored on foot or mountain bike. The forest is home to all kinds of creatures, deer, elk, owls, black bear, cougar, and coyotes. Bring a map if you explore this remote woods and keep in mind that the wildlife may venture down the mountain, so keep an eye on the little ones and pets.
There is private parking here for 4 cars in our turnaround. Public transit for Lincoln county is about 2 miles away. Taxicabs in Lincoln City typically go anywhere local for $10. Airport shuttle from PDX once a day, around $40/person. "Like" our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) page to see posts about activities in the area, or to post pictures of your trip. Summer we have a 3 day minimum stay, and Memorial Day, Labor day, and Fourth of July have longer minimum stays.

The views and lake access were absolutely stunning with amazing sunsets. We spent hours on the deck watching nature pass by. The house also has one of the best stocked kitchens that we ever stayed at.
The house had a very strong 70s motif (complete with 8-track player). If this is your style, you will absolutely love it, but it wasn't ours. There was also a bit of wear and tear throughout - sticking sliding doors, leaking shower stalls, wonky drawers, loose deck board nails, etc. Totally fine (and expected) if you're staying at your friend's cabin, but we were expecting something nicer for VRBO prices and the pictures don't show those details.

Absolutely stunning property!! Somehow more beautiful than the pictures. Every piece of furniture and art has been intentionally brought into the home to curate a specific style and vibe. The house is also full of beautiful live plants, which made the space feel even more open and homey. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils and spices we needed, there were plenty of extra towels and blankets, and we had everything we needed to be comfortable. The view from the wall of windows is unbeatable, and having a cup of coffee on the balcony while watching the fog roll in was simply magical. We had such an amazing stay and kept remarking on how much we loved this place. Truly spectacular!!

The house was a perfect place for a girls weekend getaway! Lots of space for relaxing and resting. We loved resting on the dock and in the hot tub! Just an overall wonderful experience!

This location was great, and we think that probably back in the day it was fantastic, lots of room, beautiful view, etc. However, the musty smell upon entering was very strong and did not go away. Cobwebs everywhere outside (on patio furniture, all the window corners, bbq grill patio) made those areas unusable. The hot tub was great, very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We were disappointed, and felt that the photos did not present a clear picture of the current conditions.

The positive, beautiful location. Unfortunately I would not stay again. The house and property are in poor shape and need regular maintenance performed. This place is a very well used vacation home that needs some TLC before it’s too late.

Great getaway
Great property. Large home, comfortable beds, great location and lovely views. The vintage atmosphere makes for a very casual comfortable stay. Oversized chairs and sofas made for very comfortable family time in the evenings. The large smart T.V. in the main sitting room was easy to use and my son hooked up his device and we played games all evening. The views during the day are so calming, watching the water and wildlife was a highlight. We saw sea otters, geese, bald eagles, ducks and ducklings swimming around the dock and fish breaching the surface of the water. The binoculars they provided were a big hit for watching the animals. Kayaking the lake and exploring was also a big hit. It was an easy checking in, the owners are wonderfully informative with the manual they provide and the binder in the house has lots of local options for food and activities. Being dog friendly was also a plus for us. Our little dog loved the dog run. It was a little overgrown but its also that time of year where everything is growing like crazy. The trail to the kayaks and the dock was also a bit overgrown. The overgrown trail and dog run were the only things we could slightly gripe about. Otherwise the property is just so pretty with all the plants and trees. I loved seeing the fruiting trees and bushes along side the flowers.

This property needs attention!
The view was stunning and the home was adequate. However we found the exterior to be overgrown making it difficult to utilize the lawn and get to the lake. Additionally the outside shower and gas grill were inoperable. On the inside the kitchen island was broken, ants and spiders prevalent. Outside furniture was not usable- very dirty.

Beautiful view of lake lots of room in house
Was a great place for my family to vacation. I only wish there wasn’t all the spiders and webs on the chairs to sit on and all around windows snd decks luckily spiders don’t scare me but did have a few drop on me on lower deck so didn’t use the deck

3 Years Married, 40 Years Alive
Celebrated our wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday with friends and family. The house is amazing and just our style!
Beautiful when the sun is shining and cozy when the storm is blowing, comfortable and welcoming. We will be back to Brannholm!

Overall good stay
Location was beautiful. Our family enjoyed the dock and lake. Fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding were great. We did feel that the pictures online were older. The yard was quite overgrown, the dog run was almost inaccessible due to all of the overgrown plants. You might want to bring your own pans, as the ones they have are very old, and some of them are rusty and not usable. Overall we enjoyed our stay but wish the condition of the property was better.

Beautiful view
My favorite place to decompressed from a very stressful job. I was sad to see some peed doors on the rugs in the upstairs bedroom. Please be responsible by taking your dogs out frequently or leave them in the fenced yard.

The house was perfect. Great location on the lake. Beautiful decorations throughout. Comfortable furniture and the owners have thought of everything you would ever need. My husband and I visited during not only a covid world but also fires in the region. The owner communicated with me daily and was incredibly gracious to our comfort level of traveling. We had no hiccups at all because the owner was 10 steps ahead of everything during this crazy time. The house is huge and spacious. We will be back for sure. It is close to everything you would ever need. You get the lake and an ocean a few minutes away. Plenty of dining options in the area plus golfing and a casino. Thank you for the memories!

Lake Views but old house with dog smells
This house was stocked with some fun things for family- kayaks and board games. Beautiful lake views and relaxing in the hot tub was a highlight. Plenty of seating upstairs. Stocked kitchen, but old pots/pans. The negatives include the downstairs carpet has lots of pet stains and smells like it! The downstairs bathroom/bedroom threshold was constantly wet (not sure from what) and a tack strip was poking through which three of us all stepped on and drew blood. The dock step is rotted and bowing, not safe for stepping in and out of boat. The upstairs shower joint was spraying water all over the bathroom. Downstairs room missing a whole window blind, so kids were waking up early. No AC, so house was hot and exacerbates dog smell and only two windows upstairs open to allow minimal airflow. We emailed all these things when we first arrived, but never heard back from owners. So we bought a new pan, put towels around the bathroom, bought a step stool and straps to add to dock, and took it upon ourselves to try and clean some old carpet stains. We enjoyed our time, but would not stay here again.

Priced Right
Loved the location! Property and landscaping is beautiful, could use weekly landscaping and blowing of entry patio and walkways. Second floor could use air conditioning, too warm in the peak afternoon hours and if you are cooking...well, you get the picture. Temperature highs for the week of 22-26Jun forecasted upper 60s, yet inside on the second floor felt more like upper 70s/low 80s. Future occupants should consider insurance due to covid19, owner policy listed as no refunds. Misunderstanding and communication about the property's current condition is not listed and very unclear, subjecting occupant to unnecessary stress and owner replying back "we are already aware of property condition." All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed beautiful Devil's lake.

Relax on the Lake
We were in desperate need of some off time and this was the perfect place. Looking out over the water, changing every moment, was a great tonic. Watching the various birds come and go was really fun. The weather was mostly lovely for this time of year and the couple of stormy days were an enjoyable contrast. We highly recommend Brannholm!

Brannholm House
The Brannholm house is so much more than we expected. We absolutely loved all of the details of the house. The home is so peaceful and relaxing. Being right on the lake, you can hear the ocean waves from the back deck. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year.

Perfect for a big group; right on the water
Exactly as described with breathtaking views. Our only regret is not staying a few extra days--and not renting a boat for the dock.

Lovely home perfectly positioned on the lake
We had a group of 6 adults and 4 kids (and 1 dog..) and had a fabulos stay at the lake house. It is laid out very well for a comfortable feel and couldn't be better positioned on the lake view wise. The open flow was great for our group size and the 70's vibe with original appliances was a joy to experience. We appreciated the kayaks, dog towels, lake towels and extra kitchen items they supplied to make the days full and easy going.

Devils Lake House
The house was huge with incredible views. Access to the dock and kayaks were a definite draw. Sunsets from the dock were fabulous. There was more than adequate space for all 11 of us and the retro (original) decor was fun.
The 5 page contract and the labels for every object were a bit daunting and detracted from fully enjoying the home. I understand the caution when renting your home, but the long list of don’ts and the fear of doing something wrong dampened our ability to relax and enjoy.
When cleaning up after ourselves, we noticed a lot of dust in corners and under furniture. With everything so particular, that was a little surprising.
The home and view were great but would likely not rent again due to the inability to fully relax and have fun.

It was very comfortable and relaxing.
You are right on the water. In the morning you wake up to the water birds breakfasting right outside your bedroom window.
Great place to relax and close to everything. Heather and John are wonderful hosts and have provided most anything you could need.

From beginning to end this was a great experience!
The online reservation system was easy but what it even better was the owner was that the owner was very responsive with answers. The house was perfect for a large group and had an amazing view. It was well supplied and if you forgot just about anything they already had it there. Great stay and would return.

Nostalgia of the ‘70’s’
The place was a throwback of the ‘70’ and the view was stunning! Very clean and the beds were super comfy! Every bed has a beautiful Pendleton blanket. Minimum of two dogs allowed and has a dog run! You will not be disappointed! The owners were very down to earth and so easy to talk to. Definitely will rent this place again!

Had an amazing time at this lake house! The place looks great and having the dock right on the lake is amazing. The owner was really easy to work with and they keep their place in tip top shape. The kayaks are also a nice plus!

I really dont know where to begin with this review but PERFECTION comes to mind! From the moment you walked in you felt that great care had been taken to ensure that your stay would be fantastic. I am not lying when I say it was a MASTERPIECE of 70s architecture and design. I dont know if they meant it to be or not but even the appliances were... shall I dare say it, vintage but worked like a charm. Everything was labeled and a kitchen map helped you through the large very well equipped kitchen. The front living space was a wall of windows which looked out over the lake - breathtaking! The bedrooms had Pendleton blankets and a entertainment closet which held books and games for every taste! Pets? No problem! Although there wasnt a large yard there was a dog run that was really lovely and large for your pets. Also available were pet towels, toys and even dog food for your pet! WOW! The outside was just as lovely with chairs and even kayaks for use.Unfortunately my husband ended up in the hospital the day after we arrived so we were unable to enjoy this truly unique gem but hope to come back to enjoy to fullest potential. Side note ... there was a filmed being filmed next door and people could not have been nicer or entertaining. We all enjoyed watching Fading Flowers being filmed :)Thank you for allowing us to use this beautiful cabin on Devils Lake!

The house is big and very kid friendly! The lake is amazing and we spent every day kayaking or taking a short trip to the ocean. Kids has a great time catching little fish...wonderful memories! The downstairs bathroom has a little water leak problem and had a tinge of mildew smell. The carpet to the bedroom from the bathroom was always wet. The dishwasher upstairs leaks so we had to keep a towel under it every time we ran it. Otherwise, we enjoyed the house and the fantastic location!

The view of the lake was amazing! The house was very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen. Having a dog run was very convenient and the boat dock was perfect for fishing. I enjoyed Kayaking daily and when it was rainy we enjoyed the large kitchen table for puzzles and games. We will be back!
