About this house rental
Comfortable and cozy "Mirror Pond" sits on the banks of the Deschutes River at Mirror Pond and Drake Park in the heart of downtown. It is located in one of the most picturesque locations in Bend. This home has a mountain cabin and cottage feel inside and outside. Relax on the backyard deck and enjoy the sweeping views of Drake Park.
The home has original wood-paneled walls, and the kitchen has the original wood cabinets. You can prepare your meal surrounded by great views. Mirror Pond has two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed and an updated bathroom, with double sink and shower. The second bedroom has two twin beds and shares a hall bathroom with the rest of the home. There is also a sleeper sofa with a 12" comfortable mattress in the living room to allow 6 guests to comfortably stay in this ideal home.
The living room has cable TV, a real wood fireplace, dining nook with picture windows looking out to the backyard and river, and a new deck with barbecue and plenty of seating. With tall ponderosas and one of the city's oldest willow trees by the home, it's a bit like a stay in the mountains, right in the heart of Bend.
Take a walk to downtown over the Newport Bridge, or the Drake Park walking bridge, for a day of shopping or strolling the river bank. Newport Market is just a few block away. You can leave the car in the garage and just enjoy a car-less day in town. Don't forget to bring the SUP or canoe and paddle up the river! It's one of our very few properties on the river.
Please note, if you choose to book with this home, you will be receiving a separate rental agreement that will need to be electronically signed before your stay.
Limited Parking.... NO large Vehicles. Cars must fit in garage or on small concrete pad with no overhang.
**This home has a mini split for AC in the Living Room**
** No Pets Allowed **

Lots of fun on the water, spacious cabin-like home, very clean, easy walk to downtown

This is a great little cabin bungalow right on the Deschutes River! It was perfect for my family of 4. We loved sitting on the back deck to eat dinner and watch the River go by. Conveniently located within a short walking distance into town.

This house was so cute, very close to downtown, and right along the water, as mentioned in the description. I was able to easily communicate with the property manager about questions we had. It was a great experience!

Lovely space & neighborhood, spent a lot of time viewing serene river & pine view from main rooms & deck, beds & bedrooms so comfortable, kitchen had everything needed to cook with (thankful for extra toaster that did work - would toss the other one). Fireplace needs a blanket of ash on the bottom & dry wood are essential to burn well. When/if I come back to Bend this would be the place.

Very clean place with great view of river and drake park. Walk to town. Comfy bed. We would def stay here in this authentic cabin again!

Location, ease of walking to restaurants, quiet. Great to be on the Deshutes River. Comfortable, well stocked. Only issue was needing to keep fussing with the mini split heater to keep it warm.

We have stayed at this home multiple times and always enjoy staying here. It is in a perfect location.
The only complaint I have is the sofa-bed needs replacing.

We enjoyed ourselves staying at this property. Wonderful view of the pond with ducks and geese to watch as well as deer seen in the neighborhood. Great restaurants nearby and close to things we love to do and business contacts to meet up with. This location worked well for our needs and we will most likely stay again the next time we find ourselves in the Bend area. As a suggestion, might it be time for a new couch and loveseat? A bit worn out and uncomfortable.

Great views and location. House is outdated, but clean. Couches need to be replaced many years ago and are horribly uncomfortable. Bed in primary suite was very comfy. Heat/AC is confusing with many dials and remotes available. The split AC unit started making awful noise when we used the AC. It stopped after 24 hours. Management was responsive.

The home was clean and we enjoyed the beautiful view of the river. Great location and we love having a fireplace. The beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet.
The home needs a few upgrades…the couches were dingy and did not look inviting to sit on, the smell of chemical cleaner was overwhelming for the first day, we had to open windows and doors to get the smell out. A natural odorless cleaner would solve this problem. Screen door was broken as well as some window handles.
Overall, we had a good stay, just a few things the owner could easily remedy.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mirror Pond. The views from the home of the river and park are beautiful and we enjoyed watching the many ducks and geese. The close proximity to the many activities and restaurants nearby was also a plus. Thanks.

The view, and general serenity of the place, is off the hook. The place is rustic to be sure, but the beds are comfy and the location cannot be improved upon. Would book again in a minute!

Little quaint cabin on Mirror Pond, across from Drake Park. Downtown is a 5 min walk. But the cabin has not been well cares for and is sadly showing its age. But it is clean and well stocked

This is our second vacation at this cabin for good reasons! The home is in a quiet neighborhood with a very kind and friendly neighbor, it is surrounded by huge trees and a waterfront view with access to Mirror Pond. We were there during 100° smoky days and the air conditioning and fans kept us very comfortable. The bed is so comfortable and the house provides everything we needed.
We could paddle board right from the gated back yard. The view and sound of the Canadian geese landing in front of us is a favorite sight. We biked to downtown everyday in the cooler mornings, it only takes a few minutes.
We will continue to vacation in this home every year as long as it’s available.
Highly recommend!

We have stayed at this home multiple times and will keep coming back. Perfect location on the river. Great for paddle boarding and floating.
Only complaint was the pullout bed on the couch, it needs replacing. It didn’t come our well and is well past being good.

What a great place to stay! Close enough to walk to Old Town, and very peaceful with Mirror Pond views. Everything was very clean and the fireplace was great for during our rainy stay!

It was comfortable and nicely laid out for 2 couples. A beautiful location with a lovely view of Mirror Pond. Firewood was provided for the fireplace which was needed to comfortably heat the main room. The kitchen was adequate but there were no hot pads.

Wonderful accommodations, clean, comfortable, great view of Mirror Pond and Drake Park. The house had a cottage feel and easy to relax in. Definitely would stay again.

We thought the cabin was even better than the photos display. The kitchen is small but a very functional layout and well equipped. Mater bed was comfortable, good water pressure, nice towels and linens. The view and the water fowl were amazing. Eagles, cranes, geese and ducks almost always in view. Very quiet.Clean and comfortable updates while keeping the original woodwork and hardware from late 1940's? Wood burning fireplace was wonderful and really warmed the 2nd bedroom behind that wall. Living room lighting was a little dark in evening ( dim lamp lights) so bringing a reading light would help. Nice large flatscreen TV in living room. We were not there to watch TV but we did find the Bend Broadband selection was even worse than what we had heard. The garage was a great option during the winter weather. We have a small suv. The ski rack with skis on our car did fit in the garage but literally not 1 inch to spare. Lots of firewood in garage. We hope to visit again. A very nice vacation home for all seasons!

This was a lovely place to stay - close to downtown, easy access to skiing, big fireplace, and the unexpected pleasure of watching a wide variety of ducks out the big picture window. Birdwatchers...we saw Buffleheads, Widgeons, Ringnecks, Wood Ducks, Merganzers, Golden Eyes...

Beautiful view. Very clean, peaceful. Comfortable bed. There is a mr. Coffee full pot coffee maker. Fortunately they left coffee beans amd a grinder because I brought k cups.
We stayed in winter and would love to come back. Just across the river from pine tavern and downtown. Good spot for 1 couple or girls night as 2nd bedroom has 2 twin beds.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was exceptionally clean, very nice fireplace and plenty of room for 4. The location made our stay perfect. Close to downtown. There was one hiccup, during our stay we were not told about the water lines being worked on in front of the house, so there was no parking and had to park and walk a couple of blocks, plus the water was off for several hours. There was a door flyer in the house when we arrived that the water lines were to be completed by the end of October, which that obviously did not happen. Not sure if the owners new this, but certainly should have known and informed the occupants. We definitely would reserve this vacation spot again!

Location was wonderful. House was clean and in good shape for such an old building with beautiful views over the pond and the fall foliage and even saw a deer nibbling grasses in the backyard. Two suggestions for improvement: rework the wall in the garage to allow for more room to park a full size SUV (obviously that wall was put up to create a work room space which no longer needed), and for a few $$ upgrade the TVs to "Smart TVs" to allow guest to use their streaming services for movie watching. Best regards, Jim & Carole Vasquez

You cannot find a better location in Bend! This house is in a lovely established neighborhood just across the river from downtown Bend. It has a great back patio and you can literally walk across the yard, open the gate, step onto your paddleboard and cruise the gorgeous part of the Deschutes called Mirror Pond. 2 close by bridges allow a short walk downtown to the cute shops and, oh so many, fun micro brew pubs. Evenings on the deck at sunset are sublime.
All of this is worth having despite that the house is very dated...could use a few new kitchen tools and new twin bed mattresses. The queen bed was super comfy and the place was clean. The management company was very responsive when we had an issue with the TV...sent someone over to solve the problem at our convenience. Overall, a great place to stay!

Very comfy older family home - well cared for over the years. Only complaint would be restricting entry til 4 pm when the property is ready. Seems odd
