Property has not been updated so renters need to know this & not set higher expectations. Lots of room, basics (microwave, coffee maker, etc.) provided. Beds comfortable, adequate telecommunications. Excellent accommodations for the cost. Property is located close to all needed services but, would not be walkable to historic area.

Everything was perfect, the only suggestions I would have is to have a portable fan for the back porch and the sliding door made to slide easier, we lost 4 nails in 2 days lol

Grandma’s House is Great
This was the perfect house for my parents and their small dog. It had plenty of room and layout was like two master suites each with their own bathroom. The screened in porch was wonderful to sit outside and enjoy morning coffee or evening dinner without worrying about mosquitoes. Nice size fenced in backyard to allow their dog to go outside. The neighborhood was quiet and nice area to walk. We loved the location. It was close to everything...stores, historic downtown, state parks, etc. Even though the pandemic happened during the stay, they had a nice place to stay and felt safe. The owner was very nice and responded quickly to any questions we had. He also provided a new grill during our stay. I recommend this property to anyone coming to this area. We love Deland!

Review for Grandmas Place
Very impressed overall with the property and the entire stay. The property was in a very good location. Quiet community and able to walk daily. the property was clean except could use a little deep cleaning. Called the manager and he was very responsive to our calls. The only problem that we had was that the furniture in the tv room was very dated and very uncomfortable. Looking forward to a staying in the property in January. John and Patsy Sage

It was perfect for us!!!
My college roommate and I stayed here for Stetson's homecoming last weekend. the house was perfect for us! It was easy to find, and only about 1 mile from campus and downtown DeLand. We had plenty of room, the beds were comfortable, and the house was clean. And there here were some very nice surprises for us on the dining room table when we arrived. When I couldn't get one of the lamps to work on our first night, I left a voicemail with the owner, who had someone one out there the next morning to fix it. He was very pleasant, and even share a bit of history about the house. The screened in back porch looked so inviting! Unfortunately we already had breakfast commitments each day, so we didn't find time to sit out there.
We're alreedy trying to think of reasons to return to DeLand soon so we can stay at Grandma's Place again!

Clean, quaint accommodations
The house was very clean, in a quiet neighborhood, and well appointed with everything you might need on a vacation to Florida. Owners were quick to respond to inquires. The house has two large bedrooms with king beds and full bathrooms. There is a queen sofa bed in the living room. The owners also provided a small cot and offered an air mattress. If in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

It’s in a convenient location. The house was a good size. It depends on what your looking for.
The patio furniture and the outdoor grill were unusable due to being very dirty. A lot of the pots and pans were greasy. Hot water wasn’t really hot.

Grandma's Place was what the doctor prescribed!
Couldn't ask for a better place to relax, enjoy nature and feel like home. House was very clean, kitchen was stocked with a good amount of dishes and pans. The King size bed was very comfortable. With also had all the modern amenities available to us. Location couldn't be better - we walked historic downtown, rented a canoe at Blue Spring and a pontoon to enjoy the St John River and Silver Glen Springs. Also visited DeLeon Springs and hiked local State parks. Bill the owner was very responsive to all our inquiries. If you want to have a quite time and enjoy nature...Grandma's Place is the place to be!

Great location, large rooms but the house was dirty.
I liked the convenient location, the large rooms and the price. I left the owner a note explaining that the house was really dirty. We spent the greater part of one day of our vacation washing all of the silverware and the containers that they go in as well as dishes. I spilled a bit of water on the kitchen floor and wiped it up and the rag was black with dirt. We saw popcorn kernels on the carpets. A dirty house is a real turn off for me and I am not a super neat person! Also, I called the owner on Monday but never got a response. I hope he is ok.
The pillow case on the MBR was yellow with sweat stain, Luckily, I had brought my own.
