About this cabin rental
At Having a Blast, up to 20 people can relish both the bucolic beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the luxurious amenities of a five-star hotel. The three-story log lodge, which looks out onto Bluff and Cove Mountains, includes five primary suites with private Jacuzzis and fireplaces, a home theater, a pool table, Netflix, free Wi-Fi and much more.
Let’s start our tour of Having a Blast with the great room. Located on the wheelchair-accessible main floor, this space is large enough to accommodate three sofas. The double-height ceiling keeps the ambiance open and airy, while the fireplace makes the room especially inviting on brisk winter evenings. When you’re not gazing out the windows at the mountains, you can watch a movie on the flat-screen TV. The room includes a library of books and games, plus a mini hand-carved table and chairs where little ones can play.
The dining area is spacious as well. Between the long table and the adjacent breakfast bar, the room seats a small crowd. The kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances, cookware, tableware and plenty of granite counter space so that you can easily host a holiday feast. You can cook and dine outdoors as well. The main level’s rear deck is outfitted with a grill and picnic tables.
The game room makes up much of the downstairs. When you’re not shooting pool at the billiard table, you can play cards at the poker table, challenge yourself at the sixty-game arcade or stretch out on the couch and listen to your favorite tunes on the satellite radio.
Also downstairs is the home theater. Plush sofas ensure that your movie-watching experience is a comfortable one. The 73-inch HDTV with surround sound accommodates 3-D, so if you have 3-D movies and glasses, bring them along. The room also has a Blu-ray player, a library of movies and Netflix. There’s even a wet bar for making popcorn or storing drinks.
The five primary suites are spread out among the three stories. Each bedroom includes a king-size bed with a hand-carved log frame, a stone-surround fireplace, a flat-screen TV with a DVD player and a VCR and a private bathroom. As if that weren’t luxurious enough, every en-suite bathroom boasts a jetted tub along with a shower and a large vanity with a granite counter and plenty of storage. One of the two suites on the main floor is wheelchair-friendly, with grip bars in the bathroom. The two suites on the top floor open directly onto the front balcony, with incredible views of Cove Mountain. In addition, three of the cabin’s sofas open into queen-size beds.
Upstairs includes a sleeping loft with queen-size bunk beds that can accommodate four people. One advantage of sleeping here is that the loft includes an air hockey table. Another is that it opens onto the upper rear deck with rockers. These might be the best perches for admiring the star-studded night sky, except perhaps for the hot tub on the lower deck. Luxuriating among steamy bubbles while owls hoot and crickets chirp will soothe both body and soul. So will a steam shower in the sixth bathroom! You and your special someone can both sit among the twenty-four massaging jets of water while listening to the built-in radio. Talk about pampering!
Given all these luxuries, you might want to spend your entire vacation in the cabin. But then you’d be missing out on the many nearby attractions. The waterfalls, wildlife and wildflowers of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are less than 20 minutes away, while the rides and shows of Dollywood are just 25 minutes from the cabin. Also close by are the Titanic Museum, WonderWorks, dinner theaters, shops, restaurants and more.
One thing is for sure—when you stay at Having a Blast, you’ll, well, have a blast. So book your stay today, before someone else beats you to it!

I’ll be happy to edit this review if corrected. We rented this property so our large group of 18 could sleep comfortably in their own private areas as the description stated it could sleep up to 20 with 5 king bedrooms, 2 queen sleeping loft, and 3 sleeper sofas. Upon getting ready for bed the first night we discovered that the advertised “3 sleeper sofas” was not accurate. Only 1 of the sofas in the home was a pull out and the springs were coming out of it. Also, the queen over queen bunk bed in the sleeping loft did not seem sturdy enough to safely sleep an adult on the top bunk. So now we were down 4 beds we needed and were planning on utilizing for our guests which made finding other arrangements for the 3 night stay very difficult and dissatisfying. The king beds in the bedrooms slept fine but we’re VERY noisy. If you move at all it sounds like you’re laying on squeaky rubber ducks. Most power outlets in the bedrooms didn’t work so no use in turning those bedside lamps on at night. Also, the steam shower in the upstairs loft was not useable as it was missing the knob that turns it on so that was another amenity we were looking forward to using that we didn’t get to enjoy (along with the advertised air hockey table our younger family members were excited about that also was missing completely from the home). The thermostats were locked on 74° so be weary of that if you like it cooler in the hot days. Half of our crew were fine with it but the other half were uncomfortably warm for their stay. Also, upon doing dishes we discovered a full load of dirty dishes from previous tenants in the dish washer unwashed so that was a little troubling as well. The deck railings were loose/rotting in places so make sure to keep and eye on the little ones while outside. Also to note, the walls and ceilings are so paper thin you can be on the third floor and hear the full conversations of people on the ground level floor 2 stories down word for word like they are standing directly beside you. So if you like quiet time or privacy at all maybe this home isn’t for you. I would suggest the owners invest in some thick area rugs to help. Also, if you’re outside on the right side of the house you will definitely smell a foul sewage smell. All in all we liked the layout of the home and the location and it seemed clean enough (besides the dirty dishes) but the description needs major adjustments to accommodate for the wrong bedding/amenity/home features situation.

Lots of maintenance issues, like the back railing falling off. Nice place in a good location. Don't expect to cook, the pans are horrible.

Wowwwww!!!! What a great cabin! It has been 15 years since my mom has traveled anywhere other than the devil by non emergency transportation.. with god, we were able to take her on a vacation. Could not have been any better choice than 956 black bear cub way ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for such a phenomenal experience. We were able to have my mom my husband all 4 of my children and my grandchildren and was more than comfortable! Hands down, my best experience in all my years of travel! Again, thank you so much!

The place is just like shown in pictures. The cabin has tons of things to keep kids occupied. Great experience overall, certainly going there again in future.

Very nice
The cabin was very nice and spacious. Furniture needs to be replaced and there were only a couple wash clothes for 11 people but other than that it was great. Team was very responsive when we had an issue.

Great space, but very worn and not clean
We had 3 families of 14 people total. Space and layout of cabin was very spacious. However, when we checked in, there were several areas that hadn’t been cleaned. I had to clean the toilet seat in our bathroom attached to our bedroom before I could even use it. LOTS of cobwebs in the windows, heavy dust on the light fixtures, VERY WORN couches in all rooms, a big piece of tile was missing from the middle of the kitchen floor so it hurt your foot every time you walked in the kitchen, my husband had to switch one of the hall bathrooms flush handles with one of the bedroom bathrooms bc it was broken, one of the dryers didn’t blow out hot air so the clothes wouldn’t dry, none of the remotes were in the right rooms for the tvs so most of them didn’t work…mainly the big one in the tv room so that was disappointing, a couple of the handles were loose and would barely turn the water off in the bathtubs, the big shower with all the jets in it couldn’t turn the temp down so they weren’t able to shower in there…and there was a significant amount mouse poop by the back couch by the window. It was on the end table, back of the couch and all over the floor in this area. My husband did call and give them this list, so hopefully they get some stuff fixed and cleaned around there soon. We still managed to have a great time together, but for the money we spent, and all the things wrong, it was definitely overpriced and quite disappointing.

Would have been Great However!
The location was great, the cabin was overall good plenty of kitchen amenities, dishes, silverware, pots, pans overall good. Have enough towels and linen for every guests. However!!! There are bedbugs in the sofas on the couches in the Theater room. I was the only family member who slept and really hung out in the movie room. My dad did complain of a bite after being in the movie room watching tv with me. My legs were attacked. I also had bite marks on my shoulders and arms. I am a nurse and as I emailed the property manager to inform them that I know bedbug bites and what they look like. I also informed them about the very very worn couches which had large holes in the couches and pillows. Large enough that cotton and the springs were exposed across the back of the couches. If they can handle those matters this would be the perfect cabin for a large family up to 20 and had I not been bitten up which I have photos of I would have given them perfect scores. But please be aware because bedbugs come out when it’s dark and warm, they love moist warm body temperatures. Spraying for regular pest control will not solve the issue. Those couches need to be hauled away to a dump and that carpet needs to be ripped up in the movie room……

Issues
There was trash beside the back door on the lower level and on the balcony on the upper floor that was there when we arrived. The faucet in the handicap bathroom in the middle level dripped continually and was annoying. There were lights out in several rooms but the laundry room is dark without a light! The rockers on the porch have raised nails on them causing a guest to rip a new pair of jeans. The kitchen sink is badly discolored and in need of a good clorox cleaning. There are no hot pads in the kitchen. Makes it difficult to use the oven and the cooking sheets are covered in rust. Several of the sofas are in terrible shape and you sink almost to the floor and almost impossible to get off of. Broken springs it would seem.Several complained that the beds seemed old and lumpy and very worn and very comfortable. Some of the coverlets seem old and worn out. Nice large cabin for a crowd but sure could use some upgrades for the amount of money you pay. Some Christmas decorations would have been nice. Disappointed. Not sure I could recommend it.

Property as described. Well stocked kitchen. Could uae a few extra bath towels for 8 people. The hot tub needs work. Could not turn jets on without kicking breaker. The windows on the dexk could use a good cleaning on the outside. Also the deck chairs are very weathered and falling apart so not safe to use.

Plenty of Room
We enjoyed our stay but there was some maintenance issues that needed addressed. The space was great 3 floors and the bedrooms were large with their own bathroom. The double bunk bead was also used by the kids. Would not stay there again, I expect when I rent it should be as clean as my house. Some of the furniture was broke and needs replaced the tile in our bathroon was broke and the grout was dirty. We were planning on grilling and the grill was filthy and looked like it was going to fall apart. The location was great and the view was beautiful on the decks.

Our annual family trip was wonderful yet our accommodations were not cleaned as one would anticipate based on pandemic and overall disinfecting. Urine smell the entire time, even though we sprayed daily, very disappointed with lack of maintenance of property!

The cabins location is amazing. The layout is awesome. Comes furnished with all the pots, pans, dishes, utensils you could ever need. I suggest bringing extra garbage bags, dish soap, and dishwasher soap. We only got one of each for 5 nights. We did have a great time but there are a few things that need attending. It was very dusty and lots of cobwebs that need cleaning. The couches are old and very worn, you fall into a hole and cant get out. Made for some good laughs. The heat on the 3rd level did not work, we called for assistance but no reply. We all switched rooms so that each family was comfortable after sleeping in our rooms the first night when we did not hear back from anyone. Check the games, lots of missing pieces and nothing is put back. Honestly we did have a great time even with being snowed in. Just a few suggestions that maybe nobody ever mentioned.Thank you for a wonderful Christmas.

Great Cabin for all ages!
Great accommodations all around, but especially in you get stuck inside for weather or any reason. Had movie theater, standard billiards table, felted poker table, multi-game arcade, air hockey, hot-tub, and two large open spaces for just hanging out.
Also had plenty of kitchen cookware, pots, pans, cooking, grilling, and eating utensils. Had a blender and two toasters. Two full sized refrigerators (both with freezers), plus a second smaller fridge. Dishwasher. Plenty of cups, mugs, glasses, plates, and bowls. Microwave (two I think, movie theater has a small kitchen with full fridge, microwave and sink). Movie theater has Netflix access, plus blue ray player.
Had two sets of washer dryers. Two large capacity hot water heaters. Used but fully functional grill/smoker.
Parking was fine! Could easily fit 3-4 cars directly in front of house, plus a gravel parking lot less than 50 ft from the front entrance. (Gravel lot was never more that half full, and all houses around us were occupied.
One downstairs bathroom has ADA rails In the shower and toilet area, for help with stability and transfers if needed.
Full tub with jets In every bedroom bath.
Has this steam shower, that we couldn’t figure out, and only had hot water, not really significant for us.

Nice weekend
Everything was very clean. The house is large although the walls are paper thin. We had kids with us so it wasn’t a big deal. The furnishings are adequate although outdated. The only complaint is Vrbo/property mgmt was hard to communicate with during the booking process and adding an additional night. Calls were often shuffled back and forth via the two, or unanswered altogether. I would recommend streamlining the process, or skipping Vrbo and renting directly from Jackson Mtn Homes.

Beautiful views and great location, spacious
I rented this property for my friend's Dollywood Bachelorette party and we had an wonderful time. The house was super spacious and it was quiet, but there are a lot of neighbors if you're looking for privacy. It was easy to park more cars than the 2 they insisted was the limit on the e-mail. The house had a lot of amenities - we watched Game of Thrones in the theater and it was awesome! Took off one star because some of the things in the house were old/broken (fridge shelf) and the kitchenware was not the nicest. Definitely wasn't a dealbreaker or big deal though. Highly recommend for a big group!

It was perfect for our needs. We had 19 people and were extremely comfortable.
The property was great! The only tricky thing was driving a church bus up the hill. If you are cooking, bring even the basics. We had to scramble for salt, pepper, and sugar. As far as the cabin goes, the amenities were excellent. We were a small church group and the kids and adults had a great time. We needed a few more towels, called, and they delivered them right away. Truly enjoyed our stay and will choose it again if we have around 20.

Good stay with a few disappointments
My wife and I had a great time with our familes. It was overall a good stay. I would also say the maintenance was quick to respond. The issue we had was the overall quality with how much we spent. The main microwave in the kitchen was completely busted. The front glass piece was removed. The handle to open the microwave door was busted with sharp plastic edges. We had to buy duct tape just to make it safe and usable. Our parents went to reach for some plates and found multiple dishes broken, which again was unsafe. The bedroom my wife and I stayed in didn't have a cable/roku box, so we had to use the one from the game room. But even then it didn't work. Maintenance came to help but said the proper cables werent installed/available to allow it to work. Multiple batteries were out on remotes so we had to go get batteries to replace them. The living room fireplace didn't work. And in the kitchen was overall dirty. There was large amounts of dust accumulated on the light fixture, and there was some kind of filth all up above on the cabinets near the microwave.
The rest of the cabin was beautiful, and again, maintenance was very quick to respond. But for the overall price, we expected better.

Christmas in the Cabin
We had an amazing time. The cabin and the views were transcending. Everything we could have needed was provided. The bed and pillows were so comfy. We will definitely recommend this cabin and VRBO in the future.

Maintenance was lacking. Several things did not work properly including the 24 jet shower which was partially why we picked the cabin. Light bulbs weren't working...jets on o e of the whirlpool tubs didn't work so that was a disappointment.
For the amount of money we paid pet night we expected to not have to deal with these issues.

The views were awesome and loved the three decks. House was great size for 4 families.
Wonderful views and great location. Hot tub, pool table, movie room, and arcade game kept all the boys occupied for 6 days and nights. I would go back again.

Couple issues but the best cabin I've ever stayed in
This cabin was amazing and had an incredible view. Upon entering and figuring out how to disarm the alarm, the family and I spent the next 15 mins exploring all three floors of the cabin, all as giddy as a children. A home theater, game room, balcony hot tub, 5 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, sleeping up to 20, made it feel like a mansion to us.
There were a few issues, though we would absolutely stay here again. First, the steam shower door was broken and would fall off the tracks when trying to close it. I was excited about trying it, but not a big deal. Second, we spent over an hour trying to get the home theater to work to use Netflix following the laminated instruction sheet screwed to the wall as th3re were only 2 or 3 dvd there to use. The previous renters had unplugged the blueray player which deleted the log in information, and the HDMI cable was also unplugged, and one of the blue ray play3rs was kissing the remote . I was able to trace the wires and get it working after an hour, but found it had no sound or internet connection. Finally got Wi-Fi set up and connected but discovered it had a bad hdmi cable after switching it to the one directv was utilizing and all was well. I did send a message request to ensure Netflix worked for the kids when booking as there were other reviews stating it didn't, but I obviously it was not checked which was frustrating.
The only other issue was that the large 3 floor cabin seemed to be sinking in the center as the floor pitched down by the refrigerator and in my bathroom right behind the refridgerator quite a bit.
Overall the issues were minor and our stay great and we were refunded $50 for the issues, so I would recommend this property (Having a Blast) and stay here again. I did have an issue with 2 identical fraudulent credit card charges for a place in town made online totaling almost $500 and only booked the cabin rental online and Ripleys aquarium/haunted house, so I 2ould recommend calling to reserve by speaking to someone over the phone as a precaution.

The cabin was beautiful but it was way to far in the mountains for us older ladies .
We had a great time staying there and the view was out of this world , just beautiful . The biggest problem was the winding roads to get to the cabin . We had a few problems trying to get the tv's to work because mostly we not up to date on smart tv's ! Besides that the ice maker would not work . We had plenty of ice but it wouldn't come out of the door, we had to open the door to get it. We are not ones to complain , we had a great time even without the tv's !!!!

Not as advertised
This place had the size but was not what it was advertised and the overall experience was not good. I booked this place for an Easter vacation for my family and some extended family. The first morning I was woken up at 5am by the neighbor yelling as they got their cars backed up to depart, a few hours later I stepped out on the front porch to see that those same neighbors left trash in front of our unit and an animal ripped it up. Our extended family was coming in that day and I was hoping that we would have cleaned up before they arrived so I called 3 or 4 times to get someone to come clean it up, it did get cleaned later that evening but my family had already arrived. That night we found out that the theater room tv system didn’t work, there was not a dvd selection, all the pool table cues had no tips, the hot tub was almost empty and the only thing operational was the video game. That night there was a party that had vulgar music blaring and people yelling, fighting, etc... adventually the police showed up to stop it. I have spent over 100k over the past few years renting VBROs and this was the only and worse experience I have ever had. I would like a full refund... Being that we only had a few days and I didn’t want to miss out on family time I didn’t complain on the trip other than the trash.

Beautiful
The cabin was amazing, very clean, and spacious, there were a few minor problems such as, air hockey table didn't work, some of the tvs didn't work, a fire place in one of the rooms didn't work as well as the jet tub, the steam shower doors were broke also, again nothing major, over all it was worth it to get the cabin, I'd definitely do it again!

Beautiful Place to Stay
We stayed with a church group of 17 adults for 3 nights. The cabin had plenty of room and lots of fun amenities and stocked well. The only con is it could use more towels for such a large cabin because we had to wash two nights. Will definitely stay here again and maybe spend more time at the cabin. It was a convenient location and wasn't too far up the mountain for travel which is important for us since we were in a church bus.

Best Family Cabin Ever
Having A Blast was perfect for all 14 of us. Everyone had their own suites and we ended up with an extra bedroom because the kids slept in the Theater room. Couldn't get them out of it. Great location and a killer view, especially at night. Next time in the area for a UGA/UT game we will rent it again. Go Dogs
