The house was perfect for our group of 14. Plenty of room for everyone. The house is well appointed and the decks were great for watching the lake and sunsets. The dock and beach area was perfect for all to play and dock our boat. Definitely, we will look to stay at Harris Cove in the future.

Had a wonderful holiday week, including skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, hot springs visits, plus lots of family time with board games and big family meals. This home was a perfect getaway base for our large family of grandparents, parents, and children. The many bedrooms and bathrooms allowed for family groupings on different levels. The kitchen was well stocked, and double tables in the dining area were great for dinners and game nights! We really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend Harris Cove Lodge.
An added plus: the owner Rick was just a quick message away for any questions.
We’ll be back!

The stay was great!! We have stayed at this property before. This time the water had an odor to it and the clean towels seemed to have the same odor-

Perfect little get-away location nestled in the pines with lake views. We absolutely loved every minute! We brought bikes and biked into Ponderosa State Park and in to town every day. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. We can't wait to come back!

This was our second year at this home for our family reunion. There was plenty of room for everyone, great access to the lake with the private dock and very close to town. The owner was great to work with throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

VEry nice 3 story home with 7 bedrooms, 7 baths. Jack and Jill style bathrooms for most of the bedrooms with 2 having their own bathroom. large family/living room with adjacent dining area and kitchen. We had a total of 14 people and did not use 2 of the bedrooms for our family configuration but were available if more space was needed. The drive is a little steep so four-wheel drive with snow tires or studs recommended in the winter. Rick the Owner went out of his way to make this reservation come to fruition. quick and timely communication about potential problems that were resolved with the option of full refund one day prior to the scheduled reservation date secondary to issues with the water heater that was actually not a problem but did let us know there may be a problem with hot water. Even after that issue was resolved he allowed us the option for cancelation in case it was not a lasting resolution. We had all the hot water we could use and more. The bathrooms do not have bathtubs if that is important but not an issue for us. All was resolved with great satisfaction. There is no lake access from this property but overall the rate and accommodations were very nice I could imagine that another 7-10 people could have stayed depending on ages. Large, plenty of room for our family with 3 children and spouses, 6 grandchildren with room to spare. Thank you Rick for the accommodations.

Our large family had a wonderful stay at Harris Cove Lodge. Having 7 separate bedrooms for us and our 6 children and spouses was fabulous. We found the home much more pleasant than we had expected based on the photos.
This home really was equipped to be used by a large group. Each bedroom had a fan in the closet that could be used for air circulation or white noise, there were 2 coffee makers, 2 4-piece toasters, plenty of dishes, pots and pans and, unlike many other places, it was not stripped bare of paper supplies, cleaning supplies and left over cooking essentials left by previous guests.
Rick was easy and pleasant to work with and quick to respond to our inquiries. He was a terrific host!
We stayed in winter and enjoyed a warm and cozy environment in the house with a beautiful view of the lake and snowy forest around.

We enjoyed our stay- the property was very clean and probably better than the photos- which is saying a lot today with other listings on VRBO.

The property was as advertised - no issues of note. Checkin/checkout was easy.
As others have stated, if a winter stay, go with a AWD/4 WD vehicle. Of ours, 3 were AWD, 1 was front wheel drive. 3 went up the “driveway hill” with no problem. Front wheel drive was chained up and still had issues getting up the hill.

This is a well kept home that worked great for our weekend family reunion. The beautiful location and access to the lake made for a great get away. Would highly recommend the location for a large group/family. It's 3 stories and a great leg workout for those staying on the 3rd floor - but the kids didn't mind the climb!

So Many Bedrooms
There are 3 floors and seemingly endless bedrooms in this house. It also has two kitchen tables for seating a crowd. Very smart layout. It is steep to get to the water but that’s typical for Pilgrims Cove. We rented a pontoon boat and the dock worked great. A little tight but doable. It was Kind’ve fun to have a few other homes grouped together. People were very nice and it gave a party vibe to see them on the dock. We’d rent again!

Great week at Payette Lake
We had a terrific vacation in McCall Idaho at Payette Lake. The home was exactly as portrayed in the photos on VRBO. It accommodated our family of 19 perfectly. Every family had their own area and the great room was just right for everyone to gather for meals and games. We loved the McCall town, the lake and the scenery. We will definitely be back. The owner was terrific to work with and answered all of our questions promptly.

Great get away!!
This property worked wonderfully for our large family of 15. The house was very clean and showed no sign of wear. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes altho a little light on silverware. The bedrooms were separated on 3 floors which gave space to each family group and peacefulness for a sleeping baby. The only difficulty we had was the steepness of the driveway even with 4 wheel drive. The weather created ice on the driveway making inexperienced (in snow) drivers more difficult. The neighbor helped us out. I would love to come back especially in the summer.

Our winter family getaway.
This beautiful home was as advertised ; spacious, clean, handsome and well-stocked. It was well suited for a large family gathering. Temperature variation was specific to areas in the 3 story house but not difficult to overcome. Perfect base for snowshoeing across the street and sledding. Because of Covid, we did not venture to town but no real need to. Warnings about having all-wheel drive to get up the drive were right on:-) We were pleased. It was everything we expected and will visit again.

Pre-Christmas Family Ski Trip
Our family does a Christmas trip every year (5 children, some married with Children). The size of the house was good. We had a hard time with the heat regulation. Some of the bedrooms were very hot, 2 were freezing. We needed to wash the sheets after the first night because they smelled sour! We found out after we left that the host does not clean the bedding only disinfects! My husband, son-in-law and daughter all came home sick...luckily with colds not COVID. The host, Rick Spaeth, called screaming at me and then my daughter because we had washed the pillow shams (we had lain our faces on them. I also got nasty text messages saying how we were stupid morons! During a pandemic the bedding (ALL parts of the bedding) should be washed.
His treatment of us was so unprofessional and disrespectful!
Dealing with him turned our wonderful trip into a nightmare!

Terrific Get Away for a small group
We enjoyed a lovely get away at this lodge right on the shore of the Payette Lake. The home was well appointed. 4 star instead of 5 regarding cleanliness, since a couple of the guests remarked it wasn't 'super clean'. Yet, it is obvious that this place is well taken care of. The owner was a gem to work with.
We would highly recommend this lodge for your family gathering or small group get together needs.

Overall great location for family fun. It is a steep walk down on paversteps and a gravel driveway to the shared upper platform looking over the lake. Even after driving to the lower parking area there are 21 more steps down to the upper platform. It is not easily accessible for the physically challenged. More steps down is a lower platform and dock and then more steps below that is the small beach/lake access. Having a washroom off the lower platform is a great addition.Beautiful but obscured view of the lake from the house decks. Suggestions - add trash cans and mirrors in bedrooms, especially those without connecting bathrooms. Add a table and umbrella to the upper deck. Empty garbage shed cans - they stayed filled to capacity. Thanks for a great stay.

Enjoyed our stay
Everything was pretty much as portrayed, so that was all good. Only thing that could have been better was a larger beach, but we went to the north shore. Rick was very easy to get along with. Thanks

Wonderful Big house on a big hill!
The rental process was a breeze, Rick was very accommodating with the boat rental as well and even picked up a new tube so the kids had a blast tubing all day! Although because it’s a pontoon boat it doesn’t go super fast for pulling a tube but we have young children who didn’t seem to mind.
We only ended up with three families instead of our original four and therefore had lots of extra space to spread out for sleeping arrangements and bathrooms. This rental with easily accommodate 4 families! Everyone agreed that was the best part of the rental.
The only drawback was the short hike down to the hill to the lake. Once you’re down to the beautiful deck and dock it’s fabulous, but if you forget something be warned you have to hike back up to get it! We learned quickly and packed a cooler with snacks and drinks and just camped out all day on the water. Down at the shared deck/dock there is lots of shade and sun and a bathroom for your use as well, so at least you don’t have to hike back up if you need to use the facilities!
Overall excellent rental, and we will likely rent again next year!
