About this house rental
Bring groceries, your fishing rod, beach towels, and a need to chill. (BUT DO NOT BRING YOUR PET. NO PETS ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS.) Everything else will be here when you arrive. Our motto is "Let us provide the rest." And rest you will get! This home has all you need to have a great time away.
LINENS NOT INCLUDED IN FEES BUT A FULL SET OF LINENS AND TOWELS IS AVAILABLE TO RENT FOR A FEE OF $95 which gets left at the house upon departure. Set includes sheets for all beds, bath towels for 6, plus hand towels, wash cloths, and kitchen towels. Housekeeping crew will clean these upon your departure. They're there if you want them but many of our return guests choose to save that money by bringing their own.
Taw Caw Creek is located on the north side of Lake Marion near historic Goat Island in Summerton, South Carolina. Because the creek dates back to the time prior to the development of Lake Marion in 1942, it is virtually stump-free. Lake Marion boasts some of the best fishing in South Carolina and is home to huge catfish, bream, crappie, and record-sized striped and large-mouth bass. BIG catfish are caught regularly from our dock!
Enjoy fishing and water sports on Taw Caw Creek. Bring the boat or jet-ski. There are several convenient boat landings as well as a full service facility, Taw Caw Campground and Marina, right across the creek. For some extra fun, take a short ride down the creek and dock your boat at the Goat Island Resort Restaurant for lunch, dinner, refreshments, and live music. If you like the scenic “big water” of Lake Marion, it is only minutes away.
For a change of scenery, Taw Caw Park is just two miles away and has trails, a play structure, picnic shelters and restrooms..
This 3BR/2BA fully equipped home is tastefully decorated and has a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. It’s perfect for a weekend of R&R and/or playtime on the water. Enjoy the NEW COMFY COUCHES and large screen TV added this fall plus new wood flooring in bedrooms and newly remodeled bathrooms!

The cottage itself was a double blessing, as in our weeks stay the first 3 days were all rain, so we spent most of the time indoors with very comfortable furniture and great TV and Wi-Fi service!
We brought our boat and kept it at the dock, lake access ramp a mile away, and it was a secure location with night flood light at the dock for extra security. Neighborhood were all upscale and friendly.

What a gem this place is! The house is clean and beautiful and has everything you need. Boat slip is right down the road and had a nice dock to park our pontoon. Very nice neighborhood There is a sandy beach to swim at, we fell in love with this place! Cannot wait to come back!!!

Perfect little lake house
The house is very well suited for a family vacation. The beds were comfortable and having two bathrooms is a plus. The kitchen had everything we needed, the living room furniture was comfortable and the back porch was a nice place to watch the rain all week lol. The dock accommodated our 24’ bay boat. We are definitely going to stay again.

Quiet getaway
The house itself was fine but definitely the bathroom connecting the two bedrooms could use a face-lift. The toilet in that bathroom worked but you felt you had to be cautious with the handle. The outside beach area was kind of shabby, lots of debris from the trees and some garbage strewn around. It would NOT hinder us to book again to be sure!!

The lake house
I booked the property for an adult family vacation for 5. It was so nice waking up with our boat tied to the pier and the sun shining. The house was cozy and by the end of the week we got used to the lovebugs which we had never seen before being from the Midwest.Fishing slowed due to the hurricane we were told, but we still had a good time overall. Charleston was an hour and 15 minutes away which wasn't a bad drive. There weren't many places to eat near the house but I like to cook and the grill came in handy. We had a nice fire under the stars too. The yard could have used a little clean up and the beds weren't super clean, but it was comfortable. I would recommend this property to get away and relax at the lake! Thanks to the owners for sharing their home.

My husband and I just celebrated our anniversary at the lake house on Taw Caw and I just have to say we absolutely loved it. The house is wonderful and had everything we needed. The neighborhood is so quiet and peaceful and you couldn't ask for a better location. The dock was perfect for our boat. The owners were wonderful and quick to respond to any questions. There really are no words to fully express how great our stay was. We most definitely plan to return.

Really Nice There ! ! !
I can only rate up to 5 stars? Very few places has a sandy beach for the kids to swim in. That was a perfect idea to build a beach. We had our boat tied off at the new dock- just leave when you are ready! Sweet. I also was trying to rent a place at Lake Marion only to find out that it has stumps and trees in it. (wouldn't want to tear up my boat) Taw Caw is really nice as people are on pontoons, and fishing everywhere.
My grand daughter didn't want to go home. She said we need to live at the vacation home. IF IT WERE MY HOUSE I WOULD LIVE THERE ! (Sorry, no renters)

Great vacation home on Lake Marion
The house is great! Nice open plan with large family room perfect for winding down after a day on the water. The waterfront is a nice clean sandy bottom with gentle slope where we spent most of our time in the water. Brand new dock was great with no worry of splinters. I can say this is one of the best sections of the lake as my family owned a house 5 lots away for about 15 years. We honoured the one year anniversary of my father's death with a vacation to my childhood stomping grounds and the home was a perfect destination. Bass fishing was good and we enjoyed fresh fish for dinner a few nights. You should bring a boat to enjoy the fishing and wildlife that can be found just a short run from the house. a fifteen minute run to the wildlife refuge and you will find the lake just as it was in the 1970's. My daughter got to see her first alligator ( actually several but not near the house) as well as many birds we do not have in Virginia. The owners were very friendly and very responsive even when it took me a long time to return messages. They even called to apologize for the rain and offered a late checkout to make up for 2 days with rain. I will be planning a spring fishing trip and another summer vacation at this house for next year. If you are looking for a place with a wild nightlife, this is not for you. If you want to have a peaceful family type vacation disconnected from life's stresses, this is the place for you. I sent the owners a few pictures of fish we caught and they are welcome to post them.

Beautiful home, and greatest Hostess BETH!
The house is beautiful, and Beth has laid everything out to where all you jave to do is read her instructions. She has placed fliers for all attractions in the area and in Charleston. The maps in the home are excellent for a fisherman, too bad I had already brought one from walmart. Beth is awesome and acted as a tour guide and super hospitable. Quiet neighborhood and beautiful sunsets!
