This home was very comfortable and had everything we needed and then some. It is a quiet community with plenty of nature.
Great location for easy travel to App State and other surrounding attractions.
Owners are super nice and had great communication. Would stay here again!

The house was ok, not the cleanest. Dish towels hanging on stove very visibly dirty like used and not washed as well as dish mat with food remnants on it. Garbage can dirty inside and when we moved it from the wall very dirty behind it. Just needs a good cleaning in my opinion.

Fully sticked kitchen, cozy living room with fireplace and the firepit was fun. Waled to play a quick 9 holes nearbthe property.

We loved this home and were very comfortable during our stay. Appreciate all the supplies and well kept home. Very convenient whatever you do in this area of the mountains.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Vilas. The house comfortably suited the two of us along with family and friends that visited. We especially liked the well stocked the kitchen. We cooked many meals and enjoyed in the spacious dining area and outside deck.
We loved that the house was centrally located to all the places we wanted to visit.
Mr. Holcombe came on weekends to tend to the very spacious yard. The surrounding deck with a gas fire pit was great for entertaining our friends and making s’mores.
Garage is messy and dirty although laundry space worked well for us. Housekeeping did not do a good job either but we cleaned up and made do. All in all we were very comfortable and would highly recommend this rental.

Twin Falls cabin was just what we were looking for. It was the most well appointed VBRO house that we have ever stayed in. There were a lot of staples that we didn’t have to go out and buy. The side yard was great for playing fetch with our dog, Kirby and playing croquet. My son and his family visited for one of the weekends we were there and there was still plenty of room for all. Thank you to William and Amy for for providing such a great place for us to stay after exploring the beautiful North Carolina mountain area.

We were in the area to look at wedding venues. The owners a super nice. Let us check in early & on Sunday, we left our teardrop in the drive until the appointments were done. The location is convenient & the house could be wonderful. We washed all blankets as dog hair was all over them. Upstairs is hot as there is a window unit in one room but no air in the bathroom or the 3rd bedroom. Lots of exterior rot. Yard could be great. Too much personal stuff everywhere & massive mess in garage. So much potential.

The property was great, superb location! The house is nice and we would absolutely stay there again. Had everything we could want or need to relax and enjoy time as a family.

Very nice property. Lots of room for our group of 6. Location is approx 15 minutes from Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and 5 minutes from Boone. Lots of restaurants within a short drive.
4.8
Really enjoyed staying here with my family. Owners extremely responsive, neighbors we meet were extremely helpful. The road can be challenging if there is a significant snow event like Izzy was in 2022. Close to all 3 slopes, Boone, and mast general stores.

Property was as listed and interior was better than expected. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The location is close to all activities we wanted the do (Sugar, Beech and Grandfather, Boone, Elk Banner and Villa Crucis, Watauga River and the Parkway ) and the hosts were lovely. Thank you for everything!

Very clean, easy to get to, plenty of room and close to attractions.

We had a wonderful stay! The house was very clean and well stocked. The kitchen and bathrooms were all nice and the living room super comfy. Check in/out was easy; the owners were nice and quick to respond. We really enjoyed our time on the deck. The house is nestled in the mountain; we saw deer every day.

Good location. Close to App State.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful home, extremely clean, and great communication with the owners.

Such a great stay. We try to fit a lot into our trips when we come to the area and the convenience of this location allowed us to save time on the road. Centrally located for easy access to Boone, blowing rock, valle crucial and banner elk. Easy to find, easy to access. Mountain vibes without being too remote. A nice yard space which is more rare with mountain accommodations. Neighborhood is right across the street from a fun par 3 course. House is nicer than shown in the pictures. Clean & well appointed saving trips to the store to purchase paper products etc. (we have two toddlers- trips to the store are a daunting task). A miracle for post covid travel where our other trips have been less and less convenient due to removal of amenities. Easily and comfortably accommodated two grandparents, two parents, two toddlers and two small dogs. Will come back for our next stay if available. Owners are super helpful, accommodating and attentive.

Enjoyed our without nights at this property. Owners were very quick to respond to questions/concerns. We found everything to be as described.
Sitting by the fire pit making s’mores was a highlight of our weekend stay.
Highly recommend!

We had all the room we needed and thought it was very comfortable. Enjoyed the kitchen and living room as well as the fire pit!

Very clean. The house makes you feel comfortable immediately and has a great layout. Lot's of deer around. Home also has Blackberry bushes, Blueberry bushes, apple tree and grapes. All in all I highly recommend the property!

Really enjoyed our stay - great house for our family with room to spare. The inside is beautiful and the side yard gave our kids room to play. The home owners were so nice and very responsive. Close to all the Boone area has to offer. Would stay here again!

Perfect place for our 2 families to meet up. The perfect amount of space inside and out for the kids. The pictures don't do the home justice, even better in real life. The table in the kitchen was able to seat 6 of us easily with the barstools and could do more if there were more chairs. The home has most of the cooking basics which is very helpful. The hosts are quick to respond and very helpful. There is a gate for the stairs if needed for babies. Overall a wonderful stay.

The inside of the cabin was beautiful and exactly as the pictures online had shown with updated kitchen, bathrooms, Etc... No complaints except that the owners asked that we not lower the air conditioner below 80 degrees, which is ridiculous in the summer time, except for the upstairs window unit which could be used. The main problem is that the view was not as advertised online. When I talked to the owner about it, he said the picture online had been taken from the top of the road up the hill from the house, which we measured to be about a mile. The view was only of trees oh, the deck was in very poor repair with no rockers or chairs on it except for the lower deck. To have any rockers, we walked down to the fire pit area and washed the bird droppings off the plastic rockers to be able to sit on them and carried them to the deck. The View was absolutely disappointing.

Bill and Amy were wonderful hosts and super helpful throughout our stay. This was my family's first trip to the mountains and we were close enough to be able to experience a lot over a few days (Checking out ASU, Tweetsie Railroad, rafting and caving). My husband and I loved having coffee on the back deck each morning while watching the sunrise. We even had a special deer visitor.

Enjoyed this property, comfortable like home, quiet, soul soothing.

Great location and spacious home. We had plenty of room with our two girls and our dog, Belle. The kitchen was fully equipped and we really enjoyed the various board games when it decided to rain one afternoon. We took our girls snowtubing for the first time at Hawksnest in February and had a grand time. It was only 25 minutes away from the house so it was perfect. Billy was wonderful and made sure our check in went smoothly and answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations on local restaurants. Highly recommend and would definitely go back.

Nice house , lots of space . It rained so we didn't get to use the outside yard or patio much . But it was a nice place to stay

Stayed here with our family while visiting our daughter at App State. Perfect for the 5 of us and our family dog!
House is nicely redone inside. Very warm and cozy. Loved the fireplace, big TV and TONS of board games. Also nice having 4 bathrooms! Kitchen was really well stocked. Most household necessities are provided so you really only need to bring clothes and food!
Kitchen has seating for 6. 4 at table and 2 at counter around the corner. Fine for us, but might not be ideal if you had a larger group.
Owners were very responsive and easy to work with. Would definitly reccomend and rent again!

This home looks older from the outside but it is basically newly remodeled inside. Our family rented for a ski weekend. The location is perfect for being close to Boone and the slopes. The drive to downtown Boone is 10 min or less. Beech and Sugar are 20-30 minutes way. The location feels private. The house had everything needed, including a fully equipped kitchen. The check-in process was smooth and the owners were extremely responsive. We would rent again and recommend for other families.

Can’t say enough good things about the owners!! There was a winter storm watch in effect for the weekend, so they contacted us the day before our stay offering to let us check-in early so we could get settled in to the property before the storm started. The property is approximately a 10 minute drive from Boone, but feels like it is a world away. The house is tucked back off the road a little bit so you really don’t see any of the other homes in the area once you pull up to the house. This definitely added to the feeling of a mountain retreat. There is a very spacious deck, but we were there on a very snowy weekend so didn’t use it. Inside the gas fireplace was amazing! The kitchen is right off the living room and is has everything you could need (coffee maker, toaster, plenty of pots & pans, and more!) Beautiful rock backsplash, granite counters, copper sink and a great pub style table. There is a 1/2 bath in the hall and the spacious master bedroom with comfy queen bed and really nice master bath with large shower and plenty of counter space. Upstairs there is a spacious bedroom to the left with queen bed and the hall bathroom with a tub & shower combo. There is also another bedroom upstairs with 2 twin beds and a half-bath w/ sink & toilet, which came in quite handy. There are plenty of extra blankets throughout the home, but we didn’t need them because the fireplace does keep the house very cozy & warm. We are already planning a repeat visit! Thank you Amy & Bill for sharing your beautiful home!!

We had a lovely time at this home. It’s close to town and local ski and tubing resorts. Property can get muddy when it rains and the roads up to the house were icy when we arrived so I would definitely suggest AWD. Home was clean and the kitchen was well stocked, plenty of condiments and spices on hand. Good communication with the owner.
4.8
Excellent house and hosts! Everything was as advertised. Hosts did an outstanding job ensuring we had everything we needed for a smooth check-in and enjoyable stay!

One of our best vacations; this property is close to everything and you still have that mountain home feeling. Would definitely recommend.
