Good Place for a Short Stay

Very nice and clean place

The Kitchen is a bit small for 20 beds, plus the private rooms, and one Fridge for all of it doesn't help either.

In Ordnung

Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend :-) Es gab ein Wasserspender mit gefilterten Wasser den jeder Nutzen konnte. Es gab USB Ladeanschlusse direkt am Bett. Die Klimaanlage. Es gab eine sporadisch eingerichtete Küche.

Keine Fenster im Privatzimmer. Zu Dünne Wände, sehr hellhörig.

Alright for one or two nights

The room is very big, good location

Very small bathroom for so many people, there is no shower pressure and no hot water. There is a terrace but it’s very small and inner, so not very comfy to hang out. Many mosquitoes

Recepcionistas amáveis e prestativos. Cama confortável. Bem pertinho do Museu do Bob Marley. Dá pra tomar café da manhã ao lado do hostel.

O hostel é basicamente um quarto enorme com muitas camas (beliches). Não há boa circulação de ar, há um cheiro estranho que é encoberto por algum perfume de produto de limpeza. A cozinha não é muito limpa, nem os chuveiros. Eu só consegui usar o espaço para dormir mesmo.

Cool hostel with great people

The staff is amazing, the food in both the cafe and the restaurant are delicious and the dorm is spacious and clean.

The music starting at 8 am in the cafe, which woke us up two mornings unfortunately

A good option in Kingston, but difficult to sleep peacefully or hang out

Nice dorm room and beds - not too crowded, air conditioning, privacy curtains, in-bed outlets, etc. Staff was nice and tried to be accommodating even through some challenges. Wifi worked well. The location is great. Cozy common area, but very small.

Metal lockers under the beds are impossible to access without making noise. In a dorm room with so many beds, this means a lot of late night and early morning noise. Also, the door to the dorm room beeps loudly every time someone swipes to enter, and it also is noisy to open/close. They don't monitor their reservations, it seems, so if you book 2 beds together in one reservation, the beds get assigned randomly and no one from the hostel pays attention to adjust it. In other hostels, they usually handle this better. Most of the showers have no place to put anything (aside from on the floor). Annoying form to fill out when you arrive, which requires someone (either you or the hostel) to be logged in to Google to access and complete. Not a lot of common area for hanging out, and what little is there was often half occupied by the staff (doing their own thing, not to interact with guests unless there was a specific question or need).

Perfect location. Safe area. The staff is friendly, helpful and make you feel at home. 5 minutes walk to the Bob Marley museum. Shower great, cleaning everyday. AC perfect in Room. Very good stay here.

Very nice hostel outside center of Kingstown

- Very big and nice room with A/C. Maybe the best dorm room I have stayed in. Always good cold temperature. - Maybe 20 beds, but it was clean - Curtains at each bed for privacy - Power outlet at each bed - Locker under each bed, but remember your own lock - Nice common room and kitchen facilities - 10 % discount in the restaurant next door, when staying at this hostel

- Had my own rental car, as the hostel told me they have secure and free parking. Unfortunately someone broke into my car despite the secure parking. So there is NOT secure parking.

There is a night club on the other side of the wall. The wall was moving with the bass until 2am There was no hot water The wc was dirty They make you buy a lock if you dont have your own to secure your luggage in an underbed drawer Disappointing even for one night

overall, my stay was ok!

Hi there, One of the staff (the big fat guy) was rude, once he did not sell me a drink because he was preparing his meal. He could attend me while the eggs were been cook; however, he took his time to even wash the dishes but didn’t have time to attend me. He made me wait half hour and finally I had to buy it from the coffee shop. He behaves in detriment of the Hostel, he is not polite and he is to loud. Thanks, Paul

Awesome place in Kingston

Awesome place to stay. Good location in Kingston. Dubwise Cafe 2min walk, that has a dispensery as well as the live music cafe (even on Monday playing). The place is cosy, the staff were really friendly to accommodate my needs and changing travel plans, assisted with my questions on my itinerary to blue mountains. Beds are good size and length. X2 Charging plugs, bright light, fully covered curtain. Have lockers.

Lovely vibe and run by super friendly people

What really makes this place are the people who work there - absolutely wonderful! Nothing is a problem and always willing to assist, whether it be local knowledge or re onward journey. Massive thanks to you all for being so helpful! The dorms are spacious and all bunks have privacy curtains which are pretty good when it comes to keeping the light out too but you do have your own light and plug socket. Large 'under bed' lockers provide a safe place to keep bags etc but overall the hostel is secure anyway with key card access required for entry through the main front door, inner door and again into the dorm. It's in great location close to the Bob Marley museum and Devonshire House and it's only a 15 minute walk to 2 large supermarkets. Route taxis stop more or less directly outside (JMD 150 from / to Downtown Bus Depot or Knutsford Express).

Kitchen really does need to be better equipped and there's definitely a need for a larger fridge too. I know from having read other reviews that there can be a nasty smell that comes up from the drain but it's really not that bad but, when it does arise, it could do with being dealt with there and then.

A hidden gem in Kingston!

The property is in a nice area. I loved walked around here and it’s super short walk to the Bob Marley museum! The staff are very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They even helped organise me a driver from the airport and the prices are better then a taxi. Rooms are huge, heaps of personal locker space. Photos don’t do it justice. Extra blankets, towels etc are all free and available. I loved that they had optional activity nights (though I didn’t partake, other guest seemed to love it). Free filtered water is greatly appreciated, thank you and see you in a week!
