About this villa rental
Villa Sur is a stunning three bedroom, four bath villa that is 100’ (30m) from Dominical Beach. Surrounded by a large pool and lush gardens, with towering trees over 100’ tall, the villa is a haven for water enthusiasts, eco-tourists, and families that want a lovely beach house with all the amenities. With beds for up to nine, the Villa Sur can accommodate your family and friends, or three couples, or perhaps a reunion of school buddies. Each bedroom has air conditioning, but you’ll end up opening up the screened windows and going to sleep listening to the surf outside your villa. There are excellent views of the beach and ocean from nearly every room in the house
Two of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, and the third bedroom has its own bathroom steps away. A convenient sofa bed in the loft area is great for kids or teens. Of course, linens are provided for all beds, and towels are provided for both the bathrooms and beach and pool use.
The kitchen has all of the expected conveniences, with lovely granite countertops, the appliances you’d expect, and lots of cookware and dishware for fine dining. You can dine inside under the cathedral ceiling that soars 20’ overhead, but we end up dining outside by the terrace for almost every meal. Both tables seat six.
Villa Sur, and its companion properties, Villa Central and Villa Norte, are conveniently located about 5 minutes by car from Dominical. However, when the tide is between low and medium tide, you can walk to Dominical in about 20 minutes on the beach. That’s why we picked this property: you spend less time in the car, and more time in the pool, on the beach, or in the ocean. And you don’t need to have a four wheel drive vehicle to get to Villa Sur; any rental car will do. You have no steep hillside roads to contend with. When you want to dine out, there are great restaurants in Dominical, or 15 minutes south in Uvita, or 30 minutes south in Ojochal (our favorite!) The area is known for having a wide range of cuisines, from fresh seafood to vegetarian meals to Costa Rican specialties.
Excursions can be scheduled through our property manager, YouGetHere.com. Their concierge service will hook you up with river rafting trips, kayak trips through the mangroves, horseback rides to waterfalls,, trips to the Osa Peninsula, afternoons spent ziplining, or nature hikes for birdwatchers. Our villa is centrally located for ecotourism, about 45 minutes south of the famous Manuel Antonio National Park, and 60 minutes north of Sierpe, the gateway to Corcovado and the Osa Peninsula. Whitewater rafting is about 45 minutes away on Rio Savegre, depending on the recent rainfall, with its Class II and Class III rapids. We’ve run the Savegre about a dozen times and it never gets old.
Getting to Via Sur takes about 3 hours on paved roads from Juan Santamaria International Airport in Alajuela (the “San Jose” airport), or 4.5 hours from the Liberia Airport. Renting a car is easy from a variety of familiar rental car agencies. You can also arrange a private shuttle from YouGetHere if you prefer.
To summarize:
● As close to the beach as you can be in Costa Rica.
● No four wheel drive required.
● Privacy and seclusion, yet in the middle of activities, dining, and ecotourism.
● On-site housekeeper and gardener/handyman.
● The option to rent two or three identical villas for large groups.

Loved the house and the location was great. The pool outside was perfect and we would go play in the water at the beach. Note that the beach right out front of the house is not a good place to play since there are large rocks and swift currents in the area. You have to walk a couple hundred yards north to get to an area you can play safely. Waking to that beach on high tide can be difficult.

Villa 3 was a dream. Inside the house was lovely with everything you could want. Bedrooms were wonderful. A bit of traffic noise but was extremely unimportant as the place and location more than made up for it. We walked into town, which took about 15 minutes at low tide. We also had a place in the shade for our chairs right near the pool. Only suggestions might be beach chairs you can take to the beach and a boogie board to play with! Caretakers are right there and were very helpful; nice to know someone is so close. We had a great time. Thanks so much!

The house is lovely, very clean, well kept and the kitchen is well equipped. The pool is fabulous and the pool iguanas and lizards were a constant source of entertainment during our 2 week stay. The beach is steps away and is gorgeous, as are the sunsets. We walked the beach every morning You can walk to the village of Dominical along the beach when the ride is not high but, even if the tide is in there are two short (50m and 100m) inland trails from the beach around the two impassible points. Dominical is a nice little surf town with restaurants and shops. Overall, this was a great house. That said, there are a few things we did not appreciate before we booked. First, the road noise. These three villas are the only ones on the beach which we really liked. However, they are situated below and parallel to the highway - which is only about 50 m away although there is a steep well treed embankment. The noise of trucks (and their air brakes) will disabuse you of any notion of remoteness. Second, this is a 3 bedroom house, NOT a four bedroom house. The fourth “bedroom” is a comprised solely of a sofa/trundle bed in the upstairs hallway between the two upstairs bedrooms. People walk in front of it when going to the third bedroom or from there to the third bathroom. It was hot and humid during our stay and only the three bedrooms had AC. The sofa bed has no access to AC nor anywhere to store clothes etc. Third, the beach has rip currents, although this seemed common to the area.

I really enjoyed the Villa. It was very relaxing and the home provided all of the amenities one could ask for. The ocean is right there! Olny thing it would be nice to have a better trail, it was difficult for my elderly mother in law to get to the beach. Thank you for a great home

Three friends and I celebrated our 50th birthdays and treated ourselves to this beautiful home with a pool right next to the beach. The property managers were excellent to work with and were prompt to reply. We had a chef come and provide two meals which was very special. We also had Laura from rockstar yoga
Come and do a private yoga session with us on the beach. It was a dream! The home is really well equipped and the pool is amazing! We had such a good time and highly recommend this home for your next vacation

We love this property! The home is nice, the AC units in the rooms definitely help because it gets so hot. The private beach is a dream. We love the close access and my kids loved seeing the iguanas hang around the pool all week. We love the location of this house as well because its a short drive to Dominical for food but it's also not far from Quepos which has another great option for food as well. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time in this perfect spot.
Ocean in front of us and pool beside us!
Truly is paradise .
We rented a car and drove to whales Tail, Eco Tamales hot spring spot, Quepos for a sunset cruise. People were friendly and helpful.
Communicating with management team was very easy. Would recommend this beautiful house.

We (My husband and I, and two of our closest friends) stayed at this amazing house from December 28th 2022 to January 5 2023. The house is beautiful, well maintained and is located right next to the beach. It has a wonderful pool and friendly iguanas. During our stay, we walked to Dominical everyday, it only takes 20 minutes to walk there along the beach. The sunsets are amazing to watch. Yougethere is the property manager and is responsive and very helpful. We were very pleased with our experience. We hope to return again!

The home was nice but not 5000 dollars nice. It needed a deep cleaning to remove the paint that had not been cleaned up in the bathrooms on the tile. It also needs a new refrigerator currently is all rusty and doesn't have an ice maker, and the locks on one of the slider doors are broken. which is dangerous as we had someone show up on the pool deck late in the evening. The pool is very nice as the location is perfect.

Awesome Family Getaway in Dominical
Loved the location of the house - right on the beach and minutes away from restaurants, shops, activities and grocery shops. The pool was enjoyed every day and the house had plenty of amenities to keep us comfortable.

Amazing location!
We had a wonderful stay at this property in Dominical. We enjoyed being so close to the beach. We also loved having the pool to ourselves and swam everyday. The property managers were so responsive and helped us to book several wonderful tours during our stay.

Great house great location
We visited for 5 days with our two kids 12 & 8, and it was perfect. The beach at higher tides is totally private and really easy for the kids. Would stay here again in a second.

no surprizes here
As others have said this home was exactly as pictured and described. Easy to find just off the main road. Check in was a breeze. We had maid service every day. Beds were made, towels replaced, dishes done. The BBQ grill was brand new. Security was good and non invasive. The walk to the beach was short and down a manicured path. The beach itself was off the hook! Large rock formations, soft sandy beach, medium sized waves and almost no other people in sight. The pool was very large. The Dominical playa was fun, only about a mile away, with shops and several good places to eat and drink. There was a decent little grocery store just a few minutes away. The town of Uvita was about 10 miles away and had a large Maxi Pali grocery store and several very good restaurants. The one and only drawback is the main house area is not air conditioned. There are several ceiling fans but it does get warm in the house. But there is enough privacy that it's no trouble at all to jump into the pool for a quick cool down. Each bedroom has it's own AC and those units all cooled the bedrooms nicely. We would definitely return.

Amazing beach vacation
Beautiful property steps away from the beach, which is huge and often vacant, and minutes away from restaurants and shopping. Waterfall hikes a few minutes away, and easy access to Manuel Antonio National Park. Perfect spot for a nice relaxing vacation!

Great place to stay!
Excellent location with beachfront and swimming pool. The staff was friendly and helpful, the amenities adequate, house was beautiful, clean, and kitchen had what we needed. Be aware that there is no ac anywhere but bedrooms. My family fully enjoyed our stay here.

Family Vacation
The property was amazing - just as advertised. We walked right to the beach, and had an amazing pool at the house. The area was so nice, with all friendly people. The hosts also helped us find local activities, which all turned out great. I’d definitely return here for another vacation!

Even better than we expected!
There is no way I could put into words what a fabulous time we had staying at this villa. The accommodations are exactly as pictured. The pool was bigger than I expected. Steve assisted us with organizing excursions. All 3 of them were awesome. The staff on the excursions were professional and did an excellent job of entertaining our family. The beach outside the villa was so much nicer than we expected. The sand was super soft. The beach in Dominical had lots of rocks and was hard to walk on. Steve directed us to a great grocery store 15 minutes away in Uvita. Also, he told us of a place where we were able to purchase super fresh and delicious fish, La Macha, about 5 minutes from the villa. We ate at a couple restaurants in town but chose to eat at home more often than not. The kitchen was 20 feet from the pool, who wouldn't? One thing to note is that the villas are closer together than I expected. I actually appreciated that because there were people close by if something were to happen. We chatted a couple times on the beach or in the backyard but otherwise barely noticed each other. The rip tides can be pretty strong, the waves are apt to be big as well. We traveled with 4 teens. We went to Pineapple Tours and rented 2 boogie boards for $5 a day. Boogie boarding on the beach in our backyard was the highlight of the kids' trip. I highly recommend renting through YouGetHere. Everything was managed well, the staff were very attentive and professional and we had the time of our lives. Thank you Steve! You were super helpful.

Excellent rental
This is our second stay in these houses (there are 3). Perfect combination of quiet oceanfront and close to town. House is accurately described and well-maintained. The caretakers are there every day cleaning inside and out. Highly recommend these homes.

Paradise!
Everything about our trip and this house exceeded our expectations! The house was clean, comfortable and, in our opinion, in the perfect location. Yes, you can hear the highway noise at times but you quickly tune it out and focus on the sounds of the surf and the birds. We walked to town along the beach everyday and loved the charm and food of Dominical. We body surfed and boogie boarded in the waves right below the house and swam in the pool everyday. The pool was the perfect size for the kids and was always warm and clean. The sunset over the ocean each evening was spectacular and we saw toucans fly overhead and iguanas hanging out in the yard. We didn't want to leave and can not wait to come back.

Perfect Home and Location
Loved this rental choice for our family vacation in Costa Rica. The beach proximity was unique and amazing. The rental agency was professional and the house was well equipped. Very close to the village of Dominical for shopping and restaurant options. Larger supermarket is less than 20min away in Uvita. Our favorite dining experiences in Dominical were PorQueNo (nice dinner), Cafe Ensuenos (lunch), Jolly Roger Bar and Rio Lindo Pool Bar (casual bar food). The best part of our vacation were the excursions (ziplining, paragliding, ATV Tour, river gorge and waterfall hike, white water rafting). The rental company can help book any of these tours.

Beautiful!!!
The house and the couple who caretake are wonderful, so are the staff with the company. I took my family of grownups down for two weeks, and it was one of the best trips we've ever had.
I did get robbed the first night we stayed there, BUT, we did not even close, (much less lock) the doors to the patio when we went to bed upstairs, as was recommended by the guy who checked us in and was written in the house's information booklet. When I spoke with the company, the person said "it only happens once" which led me to believe it isn't the first time!
Every other experience here was an utter delight, so don't let this stop you from staying here, just close and lock the doors at night!

Wonderfull spacious house with pool at a marvelous beach
Wonderful, clean and spacious house. Large very nice pool. As described. Few steps to the beach. Can walk over beach to Domical in 20 min.
CON: only 100 feet from main road (34). So traffic, esp. trucks can be heard. The road also limits the amount of wildlife on the property. At other houses we saw monkeys daily, not at this house. Neighbor house on the same property not far away, so you can clearly hear talking and pool sounds from the neighbors.

Great house. So big , open, comfortable and it has everything you need! Grilled local fish. We all loved the pool. We will be back!

Excellent villa - perfect vacation
The house exceeded our expectations – it had everything advertised and more. The house was well equipped, nicely furnished and well maintained – thank you Rolando and Nora.
Stephen settled us in and organized two tours for us which were excellent – kayaking in the mangroves and snorkelling on Cano Island.
The pool was perfect - just steps from the patio door. We enjoyed the daily show as the iguanas paraded around the pool (and occasionally fell in but they can get themselves out). On our last day, we were joined in the pool by a water opossum!
The beach was lovely and we enjoyed watching the waves from our lounge chairs by the pool. We could easily walk to Dominical in 20-25 minutes at a leisurely pace regardless of the tide though it was a bit easier during low tide. There was seldom anyone on the beach by the villa. In fact, most of the beach to Dominical was sparsely populated.
We really enjoyed Dominical as it wasn’t packed with tourists – just surfers who we enjoyed watching as they surfed. The restaurants were seldom crowded and everything felt relaxed and welcoming. There are vendors by the beach but we were never hassled and felt free to wander about looking at their wares and chatting. One day a vendor pointed out a sloth in the trees just above the vendor’s stall.
We spent a day in Manuel Antonio and we were so relieved to return to the peace and quiet of Dominical after the hectic, noisy, commercial environment at the entrance to the park. In fact, we realized upon our return how safe and comfortable we felt in the Villa.
The restaurants that we enjoyed the most in Dominical were Café Ensuenos (order a batido frozen con aqua y banano – fantastic!), Del Mar Taco, and Café Mono.
The best feature of the villa was the location. We didn’t need to spend 15 minutes driving down a winding road from an isolated house in the hills to get to the beach or to services - we just walked on the beach to Dominical.
The only drawback was that we could hear traffic noise as the road is just behind the villa. However, it wasn’t intrusive because there was also sounds of the surf, birds and insects.

Perfect location!
We spent a week at the villas #2 and #3. This was our 3rd year at the properties - and we will be back again next year! The location to town is perfect - no need for a car, just walk the beach or grab a taxi.
The homes are set up perfectly for a group - and the pools are great!
The caretakers did a wonderful job keeping the properties clean and addressed any questions we had.
Thank you Neil and all of your staff for making the trip another amazing one!! See you in 2019!

lovely!
My family stayed here the week between Christmas and New Years. The house and setting exceeded our expectations. Being right on the beach was a huge plus for our girls. The beach was lovely, dramatic, and practically private. We enjoyed having our own house so much more than staying in a crowded resort with tourists everywhere. Our favorite tour was the Jungle ATV tour, an adrenaline rush for all. We also made the long journey to Corcovado, which was well worth it. We ventured out every night to different restaurants. My favorite was Sabor Espagnol in Uvita -- on a dirt road in the jungle. Citrus in Ojochal was already tasty, as was Por Que Non in Dominical. We also appreciated the security guard on duty at night. You need a 4 x 4 to get around. But if you have an big SUV, the parking is tight FYI. We really enjoyed our stay -- luxurious, relaxing and beautifully tropical.

Far exceeded our expectations....
This was our first visit to Costa Rica so were very apprehensive about our accommodations. Much to our surprise it was exactly as portrayed in the listing. A gorgeous place with wonderful people. We went for a much needed vacation. One just for some rest and relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The people that we met were some of the best folks we've ever met traveling. The house was amazing.....very spacious and included all the amenities that you might need for a great vacation. The pool provided a great place for relaxing. The ocean just a few steps from the house was beautiful. We will be going back to Costa Rica in the very near future in hopes of purchasing a home there!

Perfect Week!
This beach house exceeded our expectations. We had 6 people in our party and plenty of room - never felt crowded. The pool area with our visiting iguanas was so relaxing. Daily beach walks started our days, followed by must do adventures. Zip lining at Hacienda Baru was a great time, and the horse excursion up to Nauyaca Waterfall is a must. All of the people we met on our trip were so friendly - can't wait to return. I highly recommend this location if you prefer to travel on flatter land. We were constantly on the go, and as much as I loved the houses up the mountain, it was easier for us to be beach side. Favorite restaurants were Fuego (downtown Dominical), Jolly Roger (up the mountain so head up while there's daylight), Phat Noodle (downtown Dominical), and PorQueNo. Dominical is such a beautiful area and well worth the drive from San Jose airport. Costa Rica is truly Pura Vida! Randall and Mary Morgan

Best Vacation Spot Ever!
When we booked, we thought there would be tons of houses on the beach. Wrong! These were the only three in the area. Dominical is the best place to be. Not touresty, just a laid back surfer vibe. We hung out with the "locals" and they made us feel like one of them. We visited other regions while we were there but they were crowded and full of tourists. We had the entire beach to ourselves everyday, just a few feet from our door. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Exceeded our expectations!
Our stay here has exceeded our expectations. From the moment we checked in, we were impressed with everything. Steve met us at the property and gave us the lay of the land. We were pretty tired from travel and it was late so we ate and went to bed. When we woke up, we were shocked how close the beach and water was to the house. If your standing in the pull, you could throw a rock and hit the ocean at high tide. The house was super clean and had a well equipped kitchen that met all our needs. The beds were comfy and the property has plenty of towels. Through out the week we had cleaners and landscapers constantly perfecting the grounds and night time security. We felt very safe here. The location is perfect and close to so many things. I highly recommend this or any of the three properties on this space. We hopefully will return in the future. Thanks!
