We stayed for our family vacation. It was great having a golf cart included with the rental to get around the island without added expense. We enjoyed games on the screened porch in the evenings. Pool was great to cool off in during the day. We fished from the dock. Garden area around pool was well kept. Sitting area with hammock under the house was nicely shaded and provided escape from the sun. Kayaks and paddle boards were great for water fun. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. A/C works great. Location was easy access to beach with golf cart. Upstairs loft was perfect for our 14 year old son. The two queen bedrooms on the main level worked well for my wife and I and our daughter and son-in-law. Nice Weber gas Grill. Great place to stay!

This rental was very nice and we had a great stay. The golf cart made our trips to the beach a breeze. The bikes weren't in that great of condition so we didn't end up using those. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking for a family. The private dock made our fishing very enjoyable as we could come and go very easily. I would definitely recommend this rental.

This is the fifth time we have stayed at this house. We love it. The location is perfect. Don Pedro Island is a small, friendly community with its own beautiful beach. The house itself is great. The back yard is lovely and the pool is such a nice bonus. The fenced in yard allowed us to bring our dog. There is a little gap in the fence in the front so if you have a small escape Artist just keep your eye out. But the yard has such pretty landscaping and plenty of outdoor furniture. When you’ve had too much Sun you can go under the house and hang out there. We love to spend time on the porch just looking out at the canal. Judy and Audrey are very nice and easy to communicate with. House is clean and decor is nice and beachy. All and all, a wonderful place.

First family vacation
Great house and location. It was our first family vacation with our kids and their spouses and our first grandchild. Loved the 2 kayaks, pool and a quick golf cart ride to the beach. My husband loved quiet fishing on the dock. We loved it all!

Island paradise
We enjoyed our stay at Fishtales & Flipflops. The cottage was an ideal location for rest and relaxation as well as aquatic sports and beach walks. The pool and dock were wonderful! ( a couple of suggestions:#1, the golf cart rear step is almost rusted and corroded out completely. Just a matter of time before an unobservant rider slices their leg! #2. The golf cart isn’t holding a very good charge and the battery needs replacement #3. The cabinet with games and books was a mess. We took everything out, cleaned it and tidied the contents #4 we straightened up and organized all the equipment under the house. #5 one of the plastic chairs at the end of the dock is cracked #6 need to store snake detector batteries. We brought some out after a night of chirping #7 stick Dutch cleanser for easier porcelain kitchen sink clean up #8 bike tires found flat. We blew them up and enjoyed riding These were minor things compared to the wonderful family time we experienced in a overall delightful environment!! Ginny Hluchan

I call it my Goldilocks stay…
We were married on this island and have been back twice. This was the best of those stays. I call it a Goldilocks experience - for my nomadic brother it was too big - for my husband - it felt too small - but for me - it was just right. So comfortable - well stocked - ideal location - and appropriate decor. So many are too kitschy or outdated - but this home reflects the surroundings and feels like home. From the kitchen to the bedrooms - you’ll want for nothing - it’s all there! Even straws and a flashlight for late night dog walks🐾. Haha. We loved the pool and APPRECIATED the complimentary golf cart. I can’t wait to come back. I’m going to rebook now…

Love it!
This is the third time we have stayed in this house and we still love it! The area is so secluded. Sometimes I was there only person on the beach. The house itself is clean and nicely decorated. The backyard is so tranquil and pretty and the pool is a great option. The fact that it’s pet friendly with a fenced in yard is perfect for our dog. Overall love it.

Nice place to get away yet stay connected
Beautiful property, quiet neighborhood. Great dock for fishing, nice pool, a few mosquitoes so bring your spray. We had some problems with the golf cart holding a charge so hopefully that’s fixable cause that would have been great to use. We rented a boat and had it delivered, it’s an easy route to Stump Pass or Boca Grande. Beach is literally just a couple minutes and never was very crowded. Hardly no one at times. All in all a great vacation 😀

Exceeded all of our expectations
Fishtales and Flipflops was the perfect haven for our spring break. The house was perfectly sized for our party of 6. The beds were extremely comfortable and the house was well stocked with pantry essentials, games, beach gear, and more. We loved having access to a private pool, golf cart, bikes, and boats. We have zero complaints. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Amazing escape and great value!
Our family of six LOVED our time here. It was such a relaxing escape. We enjoyed every amenity of the property - heated pool, screened in porch, kayaks/dock, outdoor shower, grill, hammock, stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of towels, pillows and linens, lots of games available, sand toys, boogie boards, beautiful scenery, stocked kitchen. The beach was amazing. I could’ve stayed forever. It’s not the most high end rental we’ve stayed in; there are some minor details that need updating but they wouldn’t deter me from going back. It was a very home-y place to stay. Check out is early - 10 am, which was hard with our large family as all towels need to be laundered and put away and there is only an apartment sized, VERY inefficient washer and dryer. It took us HOURS to accomplish that. Plan accordingly.

A little piece of Paradise
Property had everything needed to relax and chill. Location was great and the pool was a must! The property manager was more than willing to help with anything and notified when a vendor was coming to the property. Would definitely book through Judy again. Only reason I can't give a 5 is the cleaning service slacked in several areas. Counter tops were sticky, dust bunnies on the ceiling above the table, outdoor table was black when wiped. Overall great time!

Lovely property
We loved our stay! The property was very clean and had everything you need and more. You can tell owners put a lot attention to details and love in the decor. Property managers and cleaning staff were on point. We loved the screen patio upstairs. We were able to have all the meals outside. Downstairs beautiful set up, outdoor shower, pool, hammock, grill and fire pit. The golf cart available in the property was a great way to tour the beautiful and super private island and got us to the beach for amazing sunsets. Will love to rent again for a longer stay.

Everything was perfect. We enjoyed this house so much. The pool was a necessity every afternoon after hot days in the sun. Plenty of towels and pool toys that the kids enjoyed. We truly enjoyed everything about this vacation and can’t think of one thing that was missing. Loved it!

Had a great time!
We stayed the first week in January. We had a very nice time. House is great, location is great. The golf cart and kayaks were very nice to use. We couldn't believe the amount of shark teeth we found on the beach! They were EVERYWHERE! We even found one in our water shoes when we got home! When we took the kayaks out, we saw dolphins, and a shark! The shark swam under the kayaks, and we were able to touch it! It was a bonnethead shark. We took the kayaks down to the hidden lake. That was fun-a bit of a trip but worth it. The pool was nice, but cold. The pool guy came near the end of the week and said our heater was off...so we didn't swim much. The weather was very chilly, so we had to wear coats or jackets, but it was very beautiful and a good vacation. The transport over to the island is very short, and very expensive. Make sure to bring everything you need, as there is nowhere to purchase items on the island, but it is worth it to not have crowds on the beach. The local people were very friendly. We lost power, but when we called they were quick to respond and got it right back on.

Rainy month in paradise!
My husband and I and our fur kids spent almost a month in this lovely, comfortable home. Quiet but with plenty to do and see, We took full advantage of the pool and kayaks... saw dolphins, manatees and schools of fish swimming past the dock every morning. Our alarm clock was the pair of ospreys nesting in the coconut tree. We ate coconut pudding made with fresh coco from the palm in the yard and I loved cooking in the most fully equipped kitchen we've ever rented. We walked the beach collecting beautiful shells, throwing back starfish and live shells. The furry ones loved the fully screened porch and running up and down the stairs inside. We felt taken care of, from the rental agent to the pool man to the caretaker who came to do some minor repair work. Unfortunately, the weather was abysmal ; we are considering renting again for the same period next year; this time without El Nino!

Just Bring Flip Flops
My husband and I spent the month of April in this comfortable home. It was four weeks of pure island bliss. Quiet, private, and well equipped with every need supplied, including an excellent golf cart. We fished, floated in the pool, grilled out, and used the backyard fire pit. Twice we spotted manatee from the dock. A turtle burrow was just outside the front door, and we even crossed paths with a bobcat in the parking area.
We wanted to book it again for the same month in 2016 but it was already reserved. Hopefully we'll have another opportunity to spend time again at Fish Tales and Flip Flops.
