This property was perfect for our large family. We had plenty of space for all of our kids and their significant others. The large bedrooms were nice so everyone had a place to sleep. The great kitchen and den areas were nice for gathering and visiting and just relaxing after skiing. It’s is a great location and very nice property.

Well equipment and perfect for our family if 12. We enjoyed feeding the deer.

The accommodations worked well for our large family group. Well stocked and had everything except a grill. Overall the stay was great and we had a great time. Just a few things about the house. There was a propane grill but it wasn't working. The house had a strong propane odor. There was a cleaning fee but we were requested to do quite a bit of cleaning ourselves. I was concerned about the fact that maybe the pillows, comforters and mattress pads were not cleaned between guests. I was under the impression it would be within walking distance to the the slopes but in the winter at least, with kids. it is not. The house was nice and spacious. Nice balcony and pretty good privacy.

We enjoy Angel Fire every year with a large group staying in multiple homes. This was our first time in the Burns Chalet and it was a great house for our 4 couples. Rooms and beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked.

Exceptionally clean and well stocked home. My family loves to cook and there was everything in the home to prepare our meals. The beds were very comfortable and the layout of them home was well suited for the 7 adults. The double living areas allowed for different activities in each area. We’d love to come back in the summertime to take advantage of summer activities on the mountain.

Loved our stay!
Our family - 6 adults and 6 kids (ages 1-14) - had a wonderful stay! Plenty of room throughout the house with everything we needed. Short drive to the slopes; we ate lunch at the house most days between skiing. We would definitely stay again.
Thank you Burns!

Great location
Property was 5 minutes from the slopes. Very clean, easy check in process. House had everything we needed. Beautiful views, deer visited the back deck twice a day and it was so close to the slopes. Perfect location and we thoroughly enjoyed the home.

Spacious and relaxing
This property is spacious, comfortable, nice bedding, well equipped Kitchen, full size washer/dryer available for your use. Very closed to ski lift and slopes. For our purpose for this trip was golf. House is maybe 5 miles from the course. Located in a lovely neighborhood. Lots of wildlife to observe and enjoy

Family reunion
3 bedrooms with king beds for our 3 couples and a bunk room to sleep our 5 grandkids made this home work great for us. 4 bathrooms was a plus. We cooked and ate every meal here, so the kitchen was wonderful with the space and all the cookware and utensils needed. House was very comfortable with plenty of sitting areas inside and outside to spread out.. Gave 4 stars for cleanliness as we found a counter top that was not clean and popcorn under one of the recliners that we vacuumed ourselves. Other than that it was clean. We enjoyed our family time there very much.

Peaceful surroundings in a very nice cabin!
Our stay was very enjoyable. The inside of the cabin was spacious and well organized. Outside, there was plenty of room for the little ones to run around. We saw deer every morning from the back porch. The only improvement that could have been made was: the code to the house was not included in the welcome information. It was completely locked up, so we had to call the property manager to gain access.

Angel Fire June 2021
This property was great and fit our needs very well. Our group had 6 adults, 3 teens, & three children under 4. The bedroom on the first floor was perfect for the family with the 1 & 2 year old. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, saw deer every day.

Overall we had a great time and this is a great house and a large group! Only thing that could have been improved was better cleaning of ceiling fans. We would stay here again

Made us feel right at home!
Comfy home with great location. We loved having two living areas. Our teens hung out in the den in the evening. There were cozy blankets to cover up with and enjoy the fire. This may seem minor but I loved the extra touch to make us feel at home. Kitchen was the best equipped we have ever stayed in. Location was great. We could get on and off the mountain in minutes. I would definitely recommend staying here!

This cabin has all the essentials and more which made our stay complete and worry free..
Will definitely would like to stay again. Cabin is modern, clean, rooms are spacious, and kitchen is fabulous. The outdoor deck is where we spent our evenings socializing and enjoying our home cooked meals. Easily accommodated our family of 8 adults and 3 children. Highly recommended for good family time.

Gorgeous spacious cabin
Our family loved our getaway here. Our favorite things: two fabulous living areas, lots of windows to view the beautiful outdoors, spacious bedrooms, updated bathrooms, and a fully stocked kitchen with SO MANY appliances!! Fully stocked bathrooms with thick towels and toiletries. The cabin had a very “homey” feel- so much so, that it was really hard to leave to go back to our home! We can’t wait to come back again.

Great for families
We loved The big kitchen and plenty of space for the adults and kids to hangout without stepping over each other. There is a garage but it is not usable by the tenants which is disappointing. The master bath upstairs is very nice however the water pressure is not to our liking but that is a personal preference. I did like how this property came with some of the essentials like trash bags and soap and paper products. I’ve been in others where you arrive and immediately have to go to the store just for embarrassing essentials. The owner and management seem to think of that which was very nice. Place was very clean.

Great house!!!
Thank you for sharing your house with us. Dealing with the owner and manager of the property was so easy throughout the process. The house has a great layout with 3 levels for everyone to enjoy. We loved the 2nd living/gathering area. Plenty of room for our ski group of 8 adults and 4 kids. The only thing we were missing was a hot tub, but we also understand the extra expense that requires. If we return to Angel Fire this house will be at the top of our list to saty at again.

Perfect Angel Fire property for multi-family!
We had our family Christmas here. Three king beds plus bunk room is perfect for multi-family stay. Loved everything about staying here from the fully-equipped kitchen, separate living areas perfect for adults and children, to the less than one mile drive to the ski resort. Owners communicated with me prior to our stay about accommodations and timing of arrival plus she had a Christmas tree ready for us! Everything fully furnished right down to soap! Will definitely book here again when coming to Angel Fire.

Plenty of room and good kitchen
We were 7 adults and 3 toddlers. The kitchen was well equipped, check it before you buy stuff as they keep many extras there. Unlike places we’ve gone and they throw everything out when you leave-so wasteful. There were all the ingredients, for instance, to make chocolate chip cookies but I had already baked some. I know I left an unopened jar of peanut butter and other opened items.
The soap and lotion in the bathrooms were good as were the towels. Two of the bathrooms were recently remodeled and were very nice. Beds were comfortable and we made use of the washer and dryer. There were lots of dvds though we didn’t watch any. There was a jigsaw puzzle suitable for the 3 yr old and an adult puzzle.
The only negative and the reason I didn’t give the property 5 stars was it was very hot upstairs. We were there when they had record heat and my son had to sleep downstairs on the couch till 1 or 2 am when it finally cooked off even though there was a ceiling fan and another fan in the master bedroom. The kids didn’t sleep very well either even though there was a box fan in their bedroom.
The owners are very nice and respond quickly to your questions and the location of the house is great.

"Luxury" Chalet is a Stretch!
Just because it has a new kitchen doesn't make it a luxury chalet. Please fix the ice maker and the large burner that flames out on the stove.
We were happy to hear we couldn't check in early because they were updating the showers, but sad to find out it wasn't the one we were using. The upstairs master has a outdated shower with a broken door and an inoperable jacuzzi tub that wasn't mentioned..
The outside of house was not cut, trimmed or weed wacked in quite a while and had branches everywhere. We had told them we were bringing four small children that had to deal with waist high grass while playing around house.
The outside space was not up to anybodys standards and had to tell kids to keep shoes on while on deck to avoid spinters. Spent time removing loose screws and pounding in nails and screws.
This was 4th of July week.. Wonder if they thought we were staying inside?
Think we're done with VRBO entirely. There's no TLC and the owners concierge has no idea what that function really means.
John, Kathy and extended family.

Great house for families!
We had 3 families with 15 people who thoroughly enjoyed the house. Easy to give it a 5 star rating. Loved the views, gathering space, and kitchen. Everyone felt the beds and sofa’s were very comfortable. Jane had excellent communication with us as we found ourselves on the road during a severe wind warning which was blowing over trucks and trailers. If it’s snowy/icy highly recommend 4WD to get up the driveway unless you want to walk. Had 2 F-250 4WD trucks and a 2WD Explorer. The 4WD truck with the cheaper Goodyear Wranglers easily made it up the snowy driveway where the truck with the high dollar Michelin AT2’s could not. The Explorer couldn’t make the turn into the driveway. Put chains on the front wheels of the Wrangler’s and pulled the Expedition up the driveway. If you need new tires now’s the time! Overall a very relaxing experience and the kiddo’s had fun building a snowman, igloo, and having snowball fights...and skiing of course! Close to the slopes so easy to shuttle folks. We’d rent it again!

Great home for families!
Thank you Burns family for opening up your home to us! This is a great house for families - big open kitchen with everything you need (and some things you didn't think you would need) to cook meals; large windows with a lot of light; large bedrooms; and 2 living areas to spread out and relax. There's also a converted garage space with a Foosball table and room to store ski equipment. A lot of open space outside to play in the snow and close to the slopes.

No luxury chalet.
Heat didn’t work properly. Downstairs bedroom was an iceberg. Dishwasher didn’t clean dishes. Only one functioning bath tub for 4 bedroom house. House in need of major repairs.

Great place for any large family!
We loved the place being so close to the ski resort! We had 3 families and each of us had our own floor. The house had so much room and had everything we needed in it! Great kitchen for cooking too. The kids enjoyed the bunk bed room too. We loved everything about this place and will definitely be coming back! Thanks for letting us enjoy your home! It’s beautiful!

Wonderful for our family ski trip!
The Burns Chalet was a wonderful home base for our family's ski trip! This was our seventh year for our large extended family (16 of us now!) ski trip. What a great place this was for us! We were concerned about the snow (lack thereof) and decided to drive to Red River to ski (which was a great decision!). But this sweet home was worth the trip to/from Red River and a fantastic place to "come home" to! The kitchen is great! The living areas (and two TVs, comfortable sitting areas, etc.) were great for our large bunch. The rooms are well-arranged and have either their own bathrooms or bathrooms nearby. The downstairs "mud room" is handy for leaving skis and equipment. A great place! And Jane's communication and helpfulness is top notch! A great experience all the way around!

Great Multi-Family vacation home!
Skiing in Jan 2018 was less than desirable, but the Burns Chalet was a perfect get away! We had 3 families; 6 adults and 6 kids (11-4). The Burns Chalet had plenty of room for everyone! There are a lot of stairs, but we were prepared for that and it was not a problem! The kitchen was very well equipped and made it easy to cook for a crowd! Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were adequate. Would definitely book this property again!

AMAZING!!!! A HOME not just a house!!!!
This home is beautiful! Not only was it in the perfect location, and perfect size but it made us feel at home.
The fact that there were spices to use, dishes pans, wine classes, games, etc.... made this house a HOME!!!!
Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will let others know of your property and when we all return again we will look you back up!
This is our first VRBO experience.... you have set the bar VERY HIGH!!!!

Found home clean and well appointed, Beds were very comfortable. Probably would not rent again due to too many stairs and with our physical issues a little difficult; arthritis, knee issues etc. Would recommend to friends; very enjoyable.

Perfect Family Get Away!
Our family stayed at the Chalet over a long holiday weekend for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. There were 10 of us total, and we had plenty of room to cook our meals and play games with space to spare. We spent most evenings either on the large patio taking in the views, or in the living room with the screen door open listening to the hummingbirds.
We are a big cooking family, and spend most of our time in or around the kitchen. This kitchen has been updated and has all of the cooking utensils and bakeware we needed. A plus for us was that the kitchen is centrally located in the house and opens onto the deck. We will definitely be back!

Nice, but lacking, just depends on what you want
We rented this house for 5 nights over Spring Break, there were three families total that stayed here in the home. This was our first time to visit Angel Fire and overall, we felt the home was just ok, pictures were a tad deceiving in our opinion. First off it does have plenty of space, the kitchen has been re-done, and the mud room on the bottom floor is nice to have. (The home is 3 levels, fyi, so if you aren't used to the altitude, it can be a little taxing) We spent right at $4,000 when all was said and done for 5 nights and looking back we felt for that price point the home was a little lacking in our opinion.
There is a bedroom on the first floor which is nice and has it's own bathroom, there are two bedrooms on the 3rd floor with 2 bathrooms which is nice, the Master and a room for kids with bunk beds. My wife and I had to stay in the bedroom just off the kitchen on the 2nd floor. A word to the wise, this is the smallest room and it has no TV. We are used to watching TV as we go to bed and couldn't do this on our trip which stunk. Also, speaking of TV, my wife is a Fox News junky, that is her favorite channel. Well the home doesn't come with a cable package that includes Fox News so I asked the homeowner to add the Fox channels and for 5 nights it was $25, that seems really steep to add just those channels for 5 days. Anyway, back to the bedroom, future renters do NOT choose this room if you have a lot of luggage or have a child that uses a Pack-N-Play or playpen. There is very little extra room in this bedroom so with our Pack-N-Play in the room we had to keep some of our luggage right outside the bedroom.
The couches per my wife were "gross" and the carpet was "gross." They both were just old and needed replacing. Now in the Den there was a new leather couch which was nice, and in our opinion, the best room in the home.
You will need 4x4 to get into the driveway if there is any rain or snow, fyi. Oh and the Wi-Fi is slow as others have said, sometimes it was quicker to get off it and just use your cell signal. One cool thing is the deer that came up at dusk and dawn every morning, especially the 10 point bucks.
Overall the property was clean and maintained, but we probably wouldn't choose this home again for the price point, but would recommend it for anyone looking for lots of room, close to the lifts (3 minute drive) and that dont really care about how 'nice' it is.
