About this house rental
Guests can enjoy private beach access over the dunes and a beautiful heated saltwater pool exclusive to the two units of the duplex. Pool area, large back yard, beach access with outside shower are shared by the guests in the two units of the duplex.
The owners use the property 'Our Place in the Sun' throughout the year so it is upscale with all the comforts of home. In an effort to keep our home in top shape for all of our guests, we require a 4 day minimum stay in the off-season and a Sunday to Sunday 7-day stay in the summer.
Front and rear balconies provide water views from 4 of the 5 bedrooms with ocean views available from the 2 king rooms and waterway views from the 2 queen rooms. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the table and 2 bars provide seating for up to 14 with additional table seating for 4 on the oceanfront porch. Flat screen TVs are in every bedroom. This property is perfect for families getting together for a reunion, holding easily up to 14 people. Bedroom 1 is on the 3rd floor and boasts a king bed, large bathroom with jetted tub and marble shower, chair with pull-out twin, large oceanfront balcony with swing. Bedroom 2 is located on the 3rd floor and has a queen bed, large bathroom, and beautiful waterway views. Bedroom 3 is located oceanfront on the 1st floor with a king bed and seating available on the oceanside porch. Bedroom 4 is on the 1st floor waterway side and has a queen bed. It shares a full bath with Bedroom 5 which has a twin over twin set of bunks and a twin trundle. The living floor (located on the middle floor) has a L-shaped sofa with a pull out queen sleeper where one child can sleep comfortably on the L while two sleep in the pull-out bed.
Exclusive to this unit are a private, outdoor hot & cold shower, a top of the line gas grill, a paddleboard, multiple boogie boards, beach chairs, beach umbrellas, a beach cart, sand toys and pool floats.
During your stay you will receive a welcome bag from the owners with paper towels, napkins, laundry pods, drier sheets, dishwasher pods and other goodies to make your stay more enjoyable.
Wireless internet is available throughout the unit. Each bedroom and the main living room boast flat screen TVs with premium cable packages. There are multiple dvds available for both children and adults. There is also a CD player with bluetooth capability and multiple CDs.

Let’s just start with, WE WILL BE BACK! Everything about our trip made it a 5 star experience. Countless core memories were made by all and this was the perfect first experience of the ocean for our kids. The house is immaculate, and literally the only item we couldn’t find were chip clips, which was fine… because we ate all the chips. Great views, responsive hosts, and heated pool. What more could you need?

Our stay at this oceanfront home in Carolina Beach was fantastic! The location is unbeatable, right on the beach, and the house itself was clean, cozy, and very well stocked. Even though we were there during Tropical Storm Debby, we still had a wonderful time. The host was kind, helpful, and responsive throughout our stay. Honestly, I almost don’t want to leave a perfect review because I don’t want anyone else to discover this gem! We want to keep it all to ourselves. Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful stay at Fun in the Sun . The beach views from the were incredible with easy access to beach. The hosts attention to detail for their guests was evident throughout the property which makes this place exceptional . Everything you need for a beach vacation is included --towels, linens, beach towels, chairs, sunshade, beach toys ,games , boogie boards , blown up pool floats, all super organized. Well equipped kitchen and welcome kit with some household essentials. Everything was top notch and hosts communications exceptional to ensure everything was in order. We can’t wait to come back !

"Our Place in the Sun" was the setting for my family's wonderful annual hang. Although it did have some minor issues, like ants and a clogged showerhead, I am overwhelmingly grateful... On the beach; ocean views; nighttime family hangs on the balcony; daytime hangs in the living room watching the Olympics & playing Euchre; Texas hold 'em on the dining room table.

We really didn’t know what to expect. The photos on the Vrbo site looked nice, but it was much more than expected. The house was beautiful, the pool area very nice and the beach was great.

Everything you need is included--towels, linens, beach towels, chairs, sunshade, blown up pool floats, hand soap, detergent. It's show up and enjoy! Great location, perfect set up for our family reunion. Games included! Cooler, grill. Couldn't have asked for a better beach situation.

This is an exceptional home! The beach front views were amazing. We even had the bonus of an amazing blood orange moon rising over the ocean. Spectacular to say the least. We have rented many homes but this one stands out from the rest. So much thought went into making visitors feel welcome and greatly reduced how much we had to pack-toilet paper, dish soap, laundry detergent, beach chairs and floats for everyone even little ones. Our stay was relaxing and memorable. A wonderful time together as our family is spread out from Michigan, Virginia and North Carolina. We would rent this beautiful house again.

Our visit was a family wedding and reunion of folks from all over the country. The duplex was extraordinary. This is the best equipped rental property we've ever stayed at, and we do a lot of family group vacations. This one should be featured in the VRBO ads--it was great.
It is a duplex and part of our stay another family shared the pool, but the residence is nicely divided for privacy and we found no difficulty sharing. Parking was adequate for 4 vehicles (and pulling in tight could even squeeze a 5th in a pinch if the vehicles are small).
We loved the pineapple theme--it felt very tropical and was a nice twist on the usual seagull/ocean waves motif we find in so many beach houses.
The place was as clean as we've ever encountered and the blackout curtains were good for those who wanted to sleep in.
We hope to have a return visit soon!

This place has everything and more!! The host are simply amazing. They obviously love hosting and it shows. 14 people stayed comfortably had space to gather together and get away from each other. Beautiful location area and home. You could not ask for more or better. BEST IVE EVER STAYED AT!!!

A beautiful home to spend our family Beach vacation. This 3 story Duplex had Everything we needed, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of beach towels, the Best well equipped kids bunk room, very nice pool area and direct beach access that we were able to watch the Summer Thursday fireworks. What a fun location to spend your holiday. I hope to come back soon.

This house has it all, from wonderful hosts to anything you could need in the kitchen. The location was perfect, the beach was never crowded! We had beautifully weather, but if there was a chance of rain there was plenty to do in the house to keep us busy. The kids loved the pool, maybe more than the beach! We decided to visit Carolina Beach for our annual family trip. We always book a home that is oceanfront with an elevator and this was hands down our favorite rental. My entire family was pleased with not only the cleanliness of the home, but with all of the small details that made our stay so wonderful. You literally could bring your clothes and food and have everything else you need provided in the rental.
The home was also in good proximity to restaurants, the fishing pier, the aquarium, fireworks, and the boardwalk.
We’ve already discussed coming back next summer. Thanks for such a wonderful stay in your home.

We had an absolute blast at this beach house. It was so nice and refreshing to stay at a beach house that was fully stocked with beach toys, books, games and even towels. It was also the cleanest place I’ve stayed at on Vrbo so far. The owner was so responsive and great to communicate with. We would definitely stay again. The only con was that the beach had a bit of a steep incline, but that would be the case with all of Carolina Beach and not a reflection on this property at all.

This property exceeded expectations in practically every way. The unit has been meticulously maintained and was very clean and equipped for our stay. The location is perfect for a family or group who wishes to be on the beach without being in the beach crowds. Kitchen was beyond well equipped, beds were comfortable and all necessary beach/pool equipment was provided. The owners were great to communicate with, responded to questions or needs quickly and were a pleasure to work with.

This was the perfect beach house for our 3 families. It was great to have two oceanfront, king sized bedrooms, two queens with canal views, and a bunk room. This place is stocked with plenty of beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, a SUP, sunshade, sand toys, and beach buggy! We had a couple of cool, windy days and were able to hang out at the pool because it was protected from the wind. Our last day was a washout but there were plenty of board games and cards to keep us entertained. Highly recommend!

beautiful home on the beach. we had a great visit (siblings and spouses) Average age 72. Great place and easy access. The elevator came in super handy for groceries and bags. Walkway to the beach was very easy. And several went in the pool and said it was great. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us.

No, but pretty darn close! I am almost at a loss for words. The house was clean and absolutely beautiful! I definitely over packed! It was so family friendly with all the stuff included from puzzles in the kids room to beach toys! Even the outlets were covered which I really appreciated!! The hosts were also amazing. If I had a question it was answered immediately! We had such a wonderful time and the house and the hosts truly made our vacation, i would go back here in a heart beat!

This property was even nicer than expected. The duplex is in a wonderful, walkable location and the views from the house and decks are spectacular. There were 10 of us and there was plenty of room to gather in the bright yet cozy main floor. The pool was very clean and kept at a nice temperature....many nice restaurants near by and many laughs shared and memories made. The owner Melinda was very welcoming and easy to reach and communicate with. Overall a wonderful 4 days!

We so enjoyed our stay at this property! The owners are so accommodating and communicate promptly. There are baby items that really helped so that we didn't have to transport a crib or high chair. I brought my college team down to Wilmington and what an amazing house. It fit 13 of us comfortably and had literally everything we could possibly need to enjoy our stay. We travel quite a bit and stay in these type rentals, and this was one of the best experiences based on location, the home itself was amazing, and shout out to the owners who communicated so well with us and checked in on us to see if we needed anything. This is a beatiful home that was perfect for our family needs. The beach access was a great amenity! I would recommend for a summer vacation! We tried the fall so we could have beach and pool, however the heat pump was not working! The property owners were very prompt in responding to our request. They did their very best to get the pool heated with no luck. We were very sad that we had to cut our stay short due to Ian .
