About this house rental
Welcome to the Bass Lake Lodge! Where you will find the beauty of a quiet lake and amenities to make you feel like you are at home.
The Bass Lake Lodge is located on Bass Lake six miles outside of Traverse City. Bass Lake is a small, spring-fed lake that is nestled between Silver Lake and Long Lake. It is a 343 acre all sports lake which offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It also offers beautiful fall colors!
There are five islands on the lake, each one making it more unique. There is a small public beach and boat launch which is located one mile away from the house. The south end of the lake is surrounded by State Lands and an adventure camp, which offers a nice spot for fishing. There is lots of wildlife in, on and around the water; each year we see a pair of loons that nest nearby on the lake. And, the lake is also home to a majestic bald eagle!
Pets are NOT allowed and No Smoking inside the rental.
The Bass Lake Lodge is centrally located; six miles to Traverse City and seven miles to Interlochen. (Interlochen is home to the Interlochen Center for the Arts National Music Camp.)
The Bass Lake Lodge is 1,350 square feet and is filled with knotty pine paneling and tongue and groove boards throughout the home, which gives it a beautiful 'cabin' feeling. It has carpet, limestone and porcelain tile throughout.
There are three bedrooms, one bathroom, a large kitchen and dining area, laundry room and a living room that overlooks the lake, with a beautiful gas fireplace. There is a large deck on the lakeside of the home. Plenty of room to grill (both gas and charcoal grills are provided for your use), eat, read a book, play games and relax.
~ The home boasts a custom kitchen; offering hickory cabinets (filled with everything imaginable to make cooking meals a breeze), all appliances including a full size (with an icemaker and water dispenser) and a dishwasher. The porcelain floor tile accentuates the coordinating countertop and backsplash - which give you lots of room for preparing food.
~ The home has a gas fireplace. *One click of a switch and you can enjoy a cozy fire while viewing the beautiful scenery outdoors through one of the many windows facing the lake.
~ The large (14' x 36') PVC deck overlooks the lake. It is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the AMAZING sunrises on the lake. The stairs are lit for your safety when it is dark outside.
~ To keep the area private; a beautiful row of trees/shrubs exist on the property line..
The home also has a laundry room with commercial size washer and dryer. And, there is also private WIFI at the rental at no extra charge.
The landscape of the home has soft grass and lots of flowers (summertime). A bonfire pit is located near the water and is surrounded by a large concrete patio. (Firewood is provided for your convenience.) There is a 4' x 40' non slip dock with a 8' x 16' patio on the water. The rental includes the use of a row boat, kayaks and paddle board (summertime only). Life jackets are provided for your safety.

This was our third year staying here. House is always comfortable and extremely clean. Owner lives across the street and is happy to help as needed but is not intrusive at all. Communication with her is great. We love swimming and kayaking in the lake, the proximity to Traverse City and performances at Interlochen and dining at small local restaurants. We already have our next stay booked.

House is clean and tidy. One bathroom ok for two. Kitchen well equipped. Beds comfy. Nice porch on lake with table and umbrella. Fire pit and chairs near lake. Seat for 2 on dock. Fishing not great at all from the dock. One bass and one bluegill on spinners. We are both over 65 so rowboat and kayaks were not a good fit but we are canoe people. Ha. Owner very nice and helpful. Neighbors friendly. Day trips every day to dunes, beaches and wine country. Everything we saw was an hour or less away. Very very nice and worth the price. Enjoy! TD

Our first stay at the Lodge and hopefully not our last. We all really enjoyed so much about this cabin. It had all the modern amenities yet the charm of a cabin. The beds were comfortable and the recliners in the living room were so nice to relax and have coffee. The back deck was amazing and we had many meals looking into the lake. We loved the access to the kayaks and paddle board. So many thoughtful details set this place apart. Thank you Jennifer for sharing your place with us.

A great place to stay for vacation. Everything you need is there-just bring you food and clothes and you are ready to relax and enjoy the lake. Husband caught over 100 fish, kayaking was great. You are close to Traverse City, Interlochen, Beulah, & Frankfort. Enjoyed eating out at 2 breweries and eating cherry pie from the Cherry Hut.

It is evident that the owners want the their renters to fall in love with the home as much as they have over the years. The home is very well maintained with cleanliness, detailed accommodations and charm. Excellent communication prior to our stay. Loved the welcome s’more welcome basket:) we would certainly rent again in any season as this home is great for a long relaxing week or a quick weekend getaway. Book with confidence and then relax in the this up north gem.

This property was perfect for our first trip away from our baby. We stayed 3 nights and all 3 were great! Guests being comfortable is thoroughly consider from the new furniture in the living room and outdoor furniture, all way to how soft the bedding sheets were! We truly felt in an “up north” cottage with all the decorations as well! There are board games too, which we are super thankful for since we brewed ourselves out going to all the breweries by Saturday! Enjoyed a nice fire, and wonderful views off the lake. We will definitely be back!

As a bad day at the lake. This place was adorable. Everything was as it looks in the site. Accommodations were clean and welcoming. The host was awesome even letting us know the house was clean and we could check in early. The welcome note and treats that she left were also a welcome surprise. This house is so well stocked with everything you could possibly need and if you can’t find it, you probably didn’t need it anyway.

Jennifer was a great host! The cabin was fully loaded with just about everything you could need. I wish I would've known about this place earlier in the summer, we probably would've spent a week or longer! The cabin itself was cozy with plenty of places to relax and the beds were also really comfortable.Too much to do in a single weekend, You wont be disappointed! This trip was a great way to end summer! Thank you for a pleasant and relaxing stay!

Bass Lake lodge was a very restful and convenient location to explore the traverse city and sleepy b
The location is excellent if you want to explore the traverse city area and sleepy bear dunes with a more relaxing stay than what traverse city offers. The lake is so serene and quiet. We swam, paddle boarded and kayaked and roasted marshmallows by the fire each night. Popping into TC for dinner was a breeze. We didn’t want to leave. The cottage was easy, clean and well stocked. We would definitely stay here again if we return to the area. Neighbors were all lovely- full of advise and assistance. The owners clearly takes pride in the property and are super with assistance and communication.

Magical!
A very well-maintained family lake home with a beautiful back deck, expansive yard, and the gorgeous lake all in your backyard. The kids LOVED kayaking and exploring the wildlife. The lake is so calm and easy to navigate, spotted many fish as well. The home has everything you need, including classic Disney movies that my kids loved during a rainy day. Perfect place to stay to visit Traverse City, be in nature and enjoy water activities, and still 15-20 minutes from downtown. Jennifer is a wonderful host!

Tranquility
We were hoping for a relaxing place to come home to after visiting the sites in and around Traverse City and the Bass Lake Lodge absolutely delivered this & then some!! First, the host Jennifer was absolutely thrilled about that amazing - from the moment we booked the Lodge to even after we left - she answered r questions about the lodge w/i a day of us asking & when we arrived we had some local treats waiting for us. Plus, she called us after we left to let us know we left a few items there & she would b happy to mail them to us. :-). This is a fully renovated lake cabin that her grandfather originally built & we could tell Jennifer takes pride in keeping it super clean & in shape for weary travelers to enjoy and appreciate. The bedrooms & and beds r super comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet - it’s so relaxing to just hear the birds chirping in the morning - heaven! An added plus it that it is reasonably priced for the area. What’s not to love?

Perfect Spot!
We have been coming to Traverse city for more than 20 years. We always rent a house on a lake. Of all the houses we have rented, this is by far the best!! The owners are so thoughtful, thinking of everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable. Lots of nice updates while still keeping the charm of the original cottage. We had a great week there, good fishing, beautiful sunrises and of course the haunting call of the loons. Far enough out to feel you are away from town but a quick drive into traverse city Interlochen and more. We will be back!

Week at bass lake lodge, 2021
Cottage was very clean including the deck, kayaks, dock, etc.. Thoughtful tough to provide smores upon arrival! No shortage of kitchen utensils. Air conditioning was exceptional especially on an 85F plus week. Kids caught many evening fish off the dock and loved the swimming, kayaks, and paddle board.

Fantastic vacation with great accommodations!
We just got back from a week's stay at the Bass Lake Lodge and it was just what we all needed. We met Jennifer shortly after checking in, she was friendly and so very helpful. Also a big thanks to her husband Patrick for assisting with a trolling motor. The home was lovely, fully stocked kitchen (nicely renovated) for all your cooking needs, renovated bathroom and comfy beds! The best part I would say is the 4 kayaks! The whole family got to go out on trips together at the same time, that was very special. Nothing but good things to say. Don't hesitate for a minute to choose the Bass Lake Lodge. Thank you Jennifer and Patrick!

Just as described
Very clean and has great organizational touches that are often absent from vacation rentals, like a bin for returnable cans and bottles. Jennifer was a great host, responsive to communications and even dropped off a muffin tin that I requested. 10/10 would stay again.
