About this apartment rental

From now until the end of December we're offering a 15% discount on rental rates for stays of 1 week or more.
Hurricanes Helene and Milton have both hit the island quite hard but this is a community that mobilizes quickly and is able to restore things to normal very quickly. While there may be some shops and restaurants not able to open until the end of the year the beaches are as good as ever, the Boca Grande Club has fared well, our unit was unaffected and much of town will be operational.

Where Is Boca Grande?
Boca Grande (formally known as Gasparilla Island) is located off the southwest coast of Florida, north of Naples and south of Sarasota. It is part of the 'barrier chain' of islands that includes Sanibel and Captiva.

What makes It Special?
Connected to the mainland by a short, tolled ($6) causeway, what makes Boca Grande unique are its miles of beaches and its tranquil, relaxed, Old Florida feel: no highrises, no malls, no traffic lights, no fast food restaurants and no neon signs. The town on the island (whose formal name is Boca Grande) is charming with excellent shopping, galleries and several very good restaurants.

This is a higher end island with some of the highest home prices in Florida. With an average home value of $3.2 Million (about 10x the national average) Boca Grande ranks among some of the most expensive real estate in America.

What Is The Boca Grande Club?
The Boca Grande Club is a gated, 24/7 security monitored, 62-acre private residential community on the Gulf of Mexico side of Gasparilla Island.
Our condo is 1 of almost 300 residences within the Club

What are Its Amenities?
- a very recently renovated 'Upper Deck'/'Clubhouse' restaurant has some of the best food and without question the best view of any dining facility on the island. The restaurant overlooks the Gulf and gets some stunningly beautiful sunsets.
- 2 pools including 1 with poolside lunch and drink service
- an oceanside 'Tiki Bar'
- complimentary beach chaises and umbrellas around the pools and along the beaches
- an immaculate and fully equipped fitness facility
- 8 clay tennis courts with 3 tennis pros 'in-season' offering drills, matches and lessons
- a small retail tennis shop
- a day shower facility to transition into and out of rental units
- towels at the pools and fitness facility
- complimentary use of sea kayaks
- a spacious Library/Quiet Room in the Dunes Chalet building that has books, a TV, comfortable couches and a piano for those times when guests simply prefer a little 'out of the way' quiet time.

What Activities Are Available At The Club And On The Island?
- BEACHES: the 7 miles of beaches on the Gulf side of the island are the stars. It takes 1 minute from our back door to walk over the crossover and onto the beaches. If you turn right when you get there you can walk for an hour uninterrupted. If you turn left at the beach you can walk for more than 3 hours to the other end of the island if you'd like passing the town of Boca Grande along the way.
- SWIMMING: the beaches are safe and comfortable with all sand bottoms for the whole 7 miles
- SHELLING: collecting shells is a popular activity
- TENNIS: the tennis program at the Club is excellent, catering to all ability levels
- WORKOUTS: the fitness facility has a full range of equipment. Personal training is available
- YOGA/PILATES: yoga classes are available at the Club seasonally and in town together with pilates more regularly
- WATER AEROBICS: water aerobics classes are offered at the Club from November to May
- FISHING: fishing is a major activity in the area. Boca Grande is known as the tarpon capital of the world. Back bay fishing is popular year round. Guides and boats are available for each
- GOLF: multiple golf courses with varying challenges can be found just off island
- pickle ball at public courts in town is popular
- BOATING: several marinas in the area offer boats for rent for those adventurous enough to explore. Channels are well marked and excursions to various islands and points on the mainland give a totally different perspective of the beauty of the area.
-BOAT TOURS: organized boat tours are available for island lunches (Cabbage Key) and sunsets
- MASSAGE: massage and spa services are available at several locations
- BICYCLES: can be rented at the Club. Both are excellent ways to explore the island. - GOLF CARTS: cart paths and roads are safe and easily navigable.
- shopping
- FREE MOVIES IN TOWN: the town offers free movies a couple days a week
- CULTURAL EVENTS: there is a very active arts community on the island that offers lectures, shows etc
- SUNBATHING: chaises and umbrellas are provided along the beaches for those who'd simply like to relax, read and bathe in the warmth of the sun

Tell Us About This 2BD/2BA Beachfront Condo:
- it is a ground floor unit so easily accessible from both the front (the parking lot) and the back (the ocean)
- it is a corner unit so it's quiet with more sunlight
- it is in one of 12 buildings on the property with only 2 floors and 8 units per floor so very little neighbor activity
- it is totally renovated
- it is west facing with spectacular views and sunsets over Florida's Gulf of Mexico
- it is very close to the ocean, so sitting in the back porch (called a lanai) you hear the sounds of the waves, the smells of the sea, the shimmering of the palm trees and vegetation and the antics of the wildlife (birds, turtles, lizards etc.)
- there is a communal Weber gas BBQ
- there is a golf cart charging station at the front of the building

Features include:
- king beds in both bedrooms
- large walk-in glass showers in both bathrooms
- high speed, secure internet
- TV's in both the living room and the guest bedroom
- accessible thermostat and several ceiling fans to control the indoor environment
- a fully equipped kitchen
- a washer dryer
- a west facing open air lanai comfortable for during the day reading or end of day drinks watching the sun set.
- and below the lanai a west facing deck at the back for those who want to sun away from the pools and the beaches

The VRBO Reviews Are Outstanding:
We don't chase Reviews but over the many years that we have rented we have been very fortunate to have had guests who have voluntarily submitted them.
There are 84. We have a 10/10 rating which VRBO has deemed 'exceptional'.
For many years we also had a 1 BD/1BA at the Club. Based on 87 Reviews we had the same 10/10 'exceptional' rating.
We work hard to ensure the best possible guest experience.
We would encourage you to read through a few.

What 'Extras' Do We Provide?
- we provide all paper products in the condo (toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, Kleenex etc), all cleaning products (including dish soap, dishwasher soap, laundry detergent, jet dry, bar soap in the shower and Softsoap at the 5 sinks) and garbage bags, dryer sheets and coffee filters. So unless you have some strong brand preferences, there is no need for you to buy any of these things when you shop for your stay.
- we send guests Club & Island Recommendations to help familiarize them with what activities and facilities are available at both the Club and on the island.
- we send guests a 'How To Use Our Condo' booklet that explains how to connect to WiFi, how to use the appliances and motorized blinds, where to find medical care 'on island' if needed, how to make reservations at the Club dining room, how to use the TV, how to connect to guest streaming accounts on Netflix, Amazon Prime etc, how to use Amazon's voice activated assistant 'Alexa', etc.
- we provide a 'Welcome' Package that includes a bottle of wine (typically a Kendall Jackson Chardonnay), a container of nuts (typically Emerald) and a bag of Starbucks French Roast coffee. Travel days can be long and tiring and in those instances where we've received some sort of 'welcome package' in our travels, we've really appreciated them.

Our Preferences & Restrictions :
- we have a 1 week minimum stay between Nov 1 and April 30 and a 4 day minimum stay between May 1 and Oct 31.
- we have a 2 person maximum on the unit but if the stay is 1 week or more we're OK with an occasional 3rd person such as an adult daughter, adult son or friend staying for a night or two. Ideal for couples who'd like a little more space (1350 sq ft).
- for 1 week or greater stays, we prefer weekend to weekend bookings which we find best suit most peoples vacation schedules
- the unit has a lot of light colored fabrics, light colored walls and doors, glass table tops etc and so is not particularly suitable for young kids. Nothing against kids (we have our own) but we just think putting them into this environment would be unfair to both them, their parents and to us.
- the beauty of the island and the amenities of the Club speak for themselves.
- and finally, just a reminder that this is a no smoking, no pet and no 'part of a group' property.
Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely condo. Beautifully decorated and every amenity provided. Breathtaking views of the ocean from the screened porch and a very short walk to a beautiful beach. The owner was so helpful with providing recommendations on dining, shopping and island sites. Communication with him was easy and pleasant. We are already thinking of planning our next trip at this lovely unit.

We thought the pictures were amazing, but the rental was even more beautiful in person. Great communication from the owners. We loved every part of our anniversary trip in this little part of paradise. Will definitely come back again. One of our best vacations ever and definitely probably our most favorite rental we have ever stayed in.

My wife and I have been to numerous beach locations over the years, but this location and property is among the best-if not THE best! The condo was right on the beach, so access to and from the beach was easy. The condo itself was immaculate. Details were not ignored, right down to the well equipped kitchen. Even the knives were sharp! We enjoyed sitting on the lanai, and the furniture there was luxurious. The whole stay was at least as good as advertised, even better. Would recommend highly!
