About this farm stay rental
ESCAPE THE CROWDS to the Great Outdoors!
Sky Hawk Ridge is place of extraordinary beauty, a 185-acre natural refuge at the gateway to Buffalo River National Park. This spacious vacation home is sited on a high ridge bordering the park, with acres of lawn and groves of stately trees all around. Wide front and back porches afford gorgeous sunrise and sunset views. There’s a small pond in front.
THE LAND
When you stay at Sky Hawk Ridge, you won't stay inside for long. Roam the land and discover the wonders of this beautiful landscape. Enjoy misty morning walks through dew-covered fields. When you walk along Sky Hawk's long ridge, you see layered green hillsides and distant blue ridge lines across the Buffalo River Valley, rolling meadows with sentinel oaks, cattle grazing in lush pastures, deep green woods -- nature's beauty at every turn.
Explore miles of private trails that wind through dense forests and beside crystal streams. Wildlife is everywhere -- deer, turkey, fox, owls, songbirds, and all sorts of woodland creatures. Be dazzled by spring flowers, blue summer skies, rich fall colors, or foggy winter mornings. Sky Hawk Ridge is a nature-lover's paradise all year long.
LOCATION
Sky Hawk is just off US 65 on the north side of the Buffalo River. Restaurants, canoe rentals and river access points at Grinders Ferry, Gilbert and Tyler Bend are less than ten minutes away, but at Sky Hawk you’re secluded and surrounded by natural beauty -- away from it all.
The entrance is on the Gilbert Road (Hwy. 333), just 0.4 mile east of US 65. This cabin is at the end of the road, about 3/4 mile from the entry.
The Sky Hawk property has 3/4 mile of park frontage, and the Buffalo River Trail is just steps from the property corner. The park trail leads a mile or so downhill to a long, wide gravel bar at Shine Eye Bluff -- the perfect spot to picnic, swim, fish or enjoy a lazy afternoon. (Shine Eye is also accessible by road, a five-minute drive.)
ACCOMMODATIONS
Built in 2008, the “Ranch House” has a relaxed, western vibe. Cowhide rugs, western and wildlife art, rustic wood finishes, and stained concrete floors set a laid-back tone. With over 1500 square feet of living area, the home is spacious, warm, and inviting, the perfect gathering place for family and friends. There’s a large, vaulted great room with seating for eight, a long dining table, and four barstools around a central kitchen island. Flanking the great room are two roomy bedroom suites, each with its own bath.
The house is equipped with a washer and dryer, full-size appliances (but no dishwasher), cooking utensils and dishes, central heat and air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a small gas fireplace in the living room for extra warmth on cold nights. It is meticulously maintained and sparkling clean.
There are three other vacation homes at Sky Hawk Ridge. Refer to VRBO listings 2844541, 1468267 and 3613801 for more information. Houses are 500-1,200 feet apart, allowing plenty of separation for everyone's privacy. The land is for all to enjoy, so feel free to discover what lies around the bend.

Very clean, organized, and peaceful stay at Sky Hawk Ranch House. Probably my 5th or 6th stay on this property and will certainly be visiting again. Both the property manager and caretakers (Donna and Ron) are super people to work with.

This property was perfect, but I'd rather not tell you too much about it because I selfishly want it to be available when we go back.
Pros: Quiet. Peaceful. Clean. Spacious. Stocked. River Access.
Cons: Dry County... Nearby food options lack quality

We absolutely LOVE staying at Sky Hawk Ridge! It is the only place we would want to stay when we visit Arkansas. We have been coming here for years. The managers of this property has become friends to us. Mr. Ronnie is amazing! It is like our second home. We are so thankful to have a place like this to stay with our family where we know we are safe and taken care of. Thank you so much for allowing us this experience!

A very quiet, peaceful, relaxing getaway. The wildlife, trails and dark sky were wonderful. Very close to the river. Couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay.

We really enjoyed this property and will be back next time we are in the area.

This place did not disappoint. Close to the Buffalo River, immaculate, and an idyllic location. There are several homes on the property, but it still felt like we had the place to ourselves. Very peaceful and a great place to unplug. There are several trails to explore as well. Everyone had a great time and we will be back!

We had a wonderful time here! Very peaceful. We enjoyed many hikes, both on and off the property, and beautiful views of the river. Hope to come back and visit in the Summer. We brought our dog and he loved being able to run freely! He doesn’t get to do that at home in the city. Will most certainly revisit.

We wanted to explore the Buffalo River and surrounding area with our teenage daughters. The cabin was a very convenient location if you want to float the Buffalo River. It was a 7 minute drive to the outfitter we got our kayak rental from. We also had a great time exploring the hiking trails on the property with our girls and our dog. The views from the back porch swing were amazing and we had some fun family horseshoe games throughout our stay.

Exceptional. Complete privacy - beautiful property. It is your own park to explore with trails that border Buffalo River property. Owners fantastic to work with. Simply wonderful. Calming. Stars. Fire.

Property is exactly as described. Hosts provided everything you would need to enjoy your stay. House was exceptionally clean and the property was well maintained.
Do your research on the near by trails if you plan on bringing your four legged kids, some of the trails did not allow dogs. Regardless would stay again, just because of the house and how quiet the surrounding area is.
Thanks

I threw this trip together kinda last minute when my son’s school scheduled a few days for an early fall break. My family is originally from the area so it’s always nice to come back and reconnect.
This trip I had criteria to plan for- I needed a place that permitted my two dogs and had Satellite TV/Internet service (Red River Rivalry game). We also wanted to be within driving distance to Table Rock, Branson and Mountain Home for planned day trips.
Our stay was perfect, the sprawling property with trails to explore was a bonus. The last day drinking coffee on the porch we saw a whitetail buck chasing a group of does across the field. The cabin and accommodations were as advertised and very comfortable. The owners and care takers are great hosts so we will be coming back and definitely give the property a five star rating.

We have stayed at Sky Hawk on multiple occasions and just love it! It is this special little piece of the world filled with calm and fun. It is our dogs favorite place too! The house is always well taken care of and clean. The property managers are very responsive and have always addressed any questions quickly. We look forward to coming back year after year.

Sky Hawk is the best place to stay on the Buffalo National River. We've been coming to the Buffalo for years, and Sky Hawk is the cleanest, most secluded, most beautiful property out there. Thank you to Donna and her team for the accomodations

We look forward to our stay here every year. This is our 4th year to stay at Sky Hawk Ridge. We rent 2 cabins and are excited to be able to rent more since we have a big group that floats. Donna and Ron are the best! Can't say enough great things about the cabins, property, hospitality, location, view, etc etc!

We loved the simplicity of our stay. Beautiful location. Easy to get to and from other cabins that friends were staying in but still private enough! Donna was very responsive to any questions we had! Would definitely go back

My family loved this cabin! The space was perfect for us and the kitchen was very functional. The trails were lovely, we hiked or biked every day. This is a dreamy part of the world and a lovely place to enjoy it.
There is a great access to picnic on the river right down the road.
I highly recommend taking the time to drive to Leslie, Ar for fresh bread, shops and local treats. It’s a great town.

We have stayed at this property multiple times and enjoyed it immensely. Great location away from the masses. Walking trails, outdoor fire pit, reading, or just porch sitting. Good times!

We absolutely loved this beautiful cabin, its amenities and features, the outdoor spaces, and its location. We balanced our time between exploring the property itself, relaxing around the firepit or on the porches and heading into nearby areas including Blanchard Caverns and the cute town of Leslie. The cabin was beautifully furnished and appointed. Things were included that are rarely at a rented property, like ziplock bags or laundry detergent. Communication was easy and responsive. We definitely want to come back!

Sky Hawk is a special place. Serene, wild, but central to fascinating features/hikes. Planning our next trip!
