Awesome place. Great location overlooking a black sand beach. It was a perfect way to break up our round trip around the island.

We only booked one night, but we wish we could have stayed a week. Loved going to sleep to the sound of surf on the beach and waking up to a perfect sunrise 🌅.

There was nothing to not like about the property. The picture you show is off of the bedroom looking back towards the mountain. The picture that should be shown is the front balcony looking out over Hana Bay.
The only thing we didn't care for was Spring vacation started for kids from the mainland, can you say, it got noisy and maybe the drive from Kahalui to Hana on the Hana Highway.

Three adult women (daughter, mom, and mom's 2nd cousin) visiting Maui for the first time. After researching the east side of Maui we decided to stay in Hana for 6 days. We didn't end up staying the entire time as a rainy weather system hung over that part of the island for several days. The unit could use some updating (the sleeper sofa and the bathroom). It may not be feasible to get new(er) items. The couch was worn and not comfortable. There were enough blankets, pillows, and sheets. The bathroom had a shower only and there wasn't a place to put your clothes, towels, personal toiletries. The bathroom could use some shelving. A nice touch was the large umbrella left in the closet. The unit we stayed in an upstairs unit, had a loft upstairs, it was not used. There was not a ladder or stairs to access the loft. I don't know why that isn't used. The dishwasher was "out of order". Luckily we weren't there more than a few days to make many dirty dishes. The path to the beach was nice. The staff were attentive to our early exit. I would stay there again just for a couple of days not an extended period.

We loved everything about the Hana Kai Resort! The view was our favorite part! We spent every morning on the Lanai watching the sunrise and finished our day listening to the sounds of the waves! The room was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again! Trust me… after a long ride to Hana you’ll love staying here!

Wonderful Rustic feeling BnB!
This property was perfect for us, I especially loved how the kitchen table is out on the covered Lanai so you could enjoy the spectacular ocean views during meals. The sunrise with a coffee over the horizon with wispy clouds as accents was especially gorgeous! It did not have Air Conditioning, but the unit is set up well so the breezes off the ocean keep it cool. Even when it rained hard a couple of times, sitting on the Lanai with a cocktail and a book you did not notice it aside from the soothing sounds.

Hana Highway
This place is beautiful! There is no AC but the cross winds make things comfortable even in the summer. Also, don’t try to check in early the answer will be no.

This property is as advertised, beautiful ocean view, unique open concept that has the wind from the ocean blowing right through the rooms. Well maintained, no need for AC or a TV with this atmosphere.

Very clean!
We loved the venue and would use it again. Had issues getting information and responses from the manager, but otherwise everything was like in the pictures, very clean, bed is extremely comfortable, the lanai is great, the view perfect.

Hana beach place
Nice location although the beach is rocks and not really for swimming. Condo was fine but had a strong sewer smell out on the balcony. Loved the ocean breeze!

Great overnight in Hana
Spending a night in Hana was a great way to break up all there is to see and do on the "Road to Hana" into two days, and Hana Kai was the perfect place in Hana to enjoy this little corner of paradise.

worth it to stay the night
We wanted to do the Pipwai trail and not drive back to Kihei in the same day so we splurged on a night here. The pullout was creaky and not the most comfortable and the unit looks bigger in pics but it was a nice respite. We had 7am tickets at the park and it was amazing to get there first. The road to Kipahula was not great but the hike was nice. Not sure I'd stay here again but there aren't many cheaper options available. Overall it was worth it to really enjoy that amazing side of the island.

peaceful place
we stayed just one night, the unit was nice and clean. a little small but had beautiful views of the beach. the internet service is slow but we have that problem all over Maui. No TV so it is perfect for family time. No A/C but there is a nice ocean breeze. one recommendation, do not forget to take mosquito repellent.

Nice place in Hana.
We stayed two nights. Enjoyed the location and the balcony. We loved the back road to Hana. We made the full Hana loop. Waianapanapa and Haleakala national park were beautiful! The condo was nice. We needed an air conditioner and washer/dryer. They will let you use theirs for $10 a load. The temperature inside the condo was too hot. We had to stay on the balcony to get any air.

We only stayed one night. We had an after hours check in. Our key was ready. The place was clean and beautiful. The sunrise from the balcony was gorgeous.

Serene, Easy to Find, Great Lanai
Drove to Hana from Wailea and didn't want to rush our stay. The location was easy to find and right off the road. It was clean, and offered a great view from the lanai. Staff was super friendly on check in and offered advice on how to find the super close Red Sand Beach (which can be a pain to get to, but was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen). Make sure to make reservations if you want to go to the Black Sand Beach. Not hard to get, but the parking attendants won't let you past without getting one ahead of time. Also Hamoa beach has some of the most beatufiul salt and pepper sand w/ crystal blue waters and is all but 10 minutes away. Definitely a great place to stay for a night or two while your relax in Hana.

Best vacation ever!!!
This location was the icing on the cake for our Hana vacation. Stayed 4 glorious days - adventures along Hana Hwy, experiencing Maui’s pure beauty, relaxing on the island’s prettiest beaches. We watched the sunrise from the lanai each morning while enjoying our island coffee 😍 This property was so clean & comfortable, had everything we needed during our stay, and the staff was exceptionally friendly & gracious. We’ll definitely stay here on our next visit. I 1,000% recommend Hana Kai Maui!!!

View was great just to small
The view was great just to small! I was going out to dinner so I needed to iron some clothes. Sent a message and didn’t get a response back till the next day. They have washers and dryers but never available. They are always used by the same people that work there. I stayed for entire week and not one day they were available.
