A lifetime of family memories will be made when you choose Brief Respite for your Deep Creek vacation. This lakefront chalet is close to the water's edge and within minutes of numerous area attractions.
Once inside you will find that modern furnishings grace the bright and airy Great Room, however, it is the spectacular lake views that will keep you in awe! A huge stone wood fireplace brings promises of snowy nights cuddled up and bonding with loved ones. A large 46" flat screen TV and a library of DVDs will keep everyone entertained.
The remodeled kitchen showcases gorgeous granite countertops and modern stainless steel appliances. Fully stocked, you have everything you need to make your family's favorite meals. Dine around the dining table and enjoy the lake views or take your meal outside and barbeque on the charcoal grill. Evenings and early mornings are best spent hanging out on the expansive wraparound deck where you can watch lake activities come to life.
A few steps up, you will find your Primary Suite which features a King bed, an oversized jetted tub, separate shower, a 32" flat screen TV and stunning lake views. On this upper level you will also find two more beautifully decorated bedrooms with Queen Sized beds. A full bath with a shower stall only is also on this level.
The lower level Family Room is a warm and cozy area to hang out as you watch your favorite shows on the 42" TV. The adjacent game room is kept comfortable with a gas fireplace and the skylight and big windows allow the sunlight to perfectly filter inside. Playing on the air hockey table will be a favorite activity for all to enjoy. A pub table also makes this a fun hangout area for you and your guests.

Our family vacation was a blast at Deep Creek Lake. There is so much to do being on the lake! Brief Respite was perfect for all ages. The house is well stocked and very functional. The views were amazing. I highly recommend this vacation spot and this house for a multigenerational family vacation.

Deep Creek-Friendly Getaway
The home was spacious and well-updated with a perfect lakeside setting. Would definitely stay again. Only negatives, which kept me from rating the Cleanliness score a 5, was the dishwasher had some mold in it which needs addressed and garbage disposal did not work which was a little smelly.

Family Vacation
We booked this property for 2020 but due to covid we weren't able to travel. The property managers allowed us to move the reservation to the same week this year. The property was comfortable for 9 adults and one baby. It's right on the lake for those that want to fish. There's plenty to do in the area. The aviary at the Deep Creek Lake Discovery Center is great to learn about birds of prey.

We LOVED our stay! The house was perfect for multiple families with kids. The property has everything you need from the kitchen to the outdoor entertainment. Great location as well. We were tucked away in a relaxing environment.

College graduation gift
The pictures of the house dont do justice how beautiful the house is. The house is very homey and clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with any cooking possibilities. They even have a crockpot, wire sticks for making stores and barbecue utensils. You only need to bring the food and seasonings you need. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub at nights. We enjoyed our bubble baths in the jacuzzi. We love making smores and cooking hotdogs in the fire pit. They have both gas and charcoal grill. We used the latter which we really enjoyed cooking burgers. We love the easy access to the lake. Although we're only a family of 5, I think 2 families can comfortably stay here. It is a home away from home. We can't wait to come back.

Beautiful House and Location
This beautiful home accommodated our Large family (4 adults 4 young children) perfectly. We enjoyed snowy winter weather by sledding with the kids on the gentle slope along side the house and quickly warmed up by sitting in front 1 of 3 fireplaces (1 gas, 2 wood). In the evening we also enjoyed a warm dip in the hot tub while the snow came down.

Great layout, average details
This is a great layout for 2 families. The location is great, about 15 minutes to Wisp and right on the lake. The lake was frozen and it was very cool to see the snowmobiles and ice-fishermen. The view of the snowy trees and lake from the house is gorgeous. With a few upgrades, this house could really be A+. It has really cheap polyester comforters on the beds, stained pillow covers (not the cases), dull knives, mismatched dishes, etc. The internet is terrible, and the land line doesn't work (they tell you to use it to call and check in/out). But overall, I would recommend.

Home away from home !
The house is amazing. Cozy, comfortable, has the all amenities you need and more. Each room is spacious enough for you at night. The hot tub, fire pit and grilling area and all set up perfectly. Not one thing I would change. Definitely going to come back !

Great location and amenities
We had a fantastic time at Brief Respite. The house is recently renovated. The kitchen is fully stocked. There are a nice assortment of games and movies. Plenty of seating inside and out for our two families. Convenient access to the lake and to town.

A Beautiful Weekend in Deep Creek at Brief Respite
The house and location were both beautiful! My friends and I had an amazing time and I really wished that we could stay longer.
The views were gorgeous (especially from the hot tub), the check-in and check-out processes were easy, and the house was clean and comfortable. We had a few small issues and were disappointed that the air hockey table didn't work. However, maintenance was very responsive and came out the next morning. While it was not fixable, he was kind and helpful. The customer service rep I spoke with afterwards was a bit rude, but we got lucky with nice weather all weekend, so it wasn't a major loss.
Overall, we loved Brief Respite and I would definitely like to come back! I'm already looking at schedules for 2020-2021 to see when I can plan another trip.

Great Vacation!
We loved this house! The location was great and the house was roomy. It was so nice being on the lake and we were convenient to many places. Only two issues added some inconvenience....the hot tub stopped working, but we got same day service and it was fixed.....the internet and wifi connection was spotty at best.

Our family enjoyed this home. It's the perfect size, has a nice "game" area in the basement for the kiddos, and with 4 bathrooms, is great for a crowd. While it's on the lake, you do have to walk down the steps to the dock which was perfect with kids. The dock is on a quiet enough part of the lake that is ideal for swimming and kayaking without worrying too much about other boaters. The location is also nice - quiet neighborhood great for walks and bike rides but still only 10 mins to McHenry. It's also just a couple of miles from the state park and discovery center which are good options. The basement master was very musty and was hard to be in even after being aired out. We made due though, but just a head's up in case anyone is very sensitive to that sort of thing.

The property was very nice and worked well for our family. Its location was very convenient for what we wanted to do. We had slight plumbing problem and it was fixed very quickly by the plumber - things happen and I make this as a positive comment. The only negative was the dish washer - the door did not close easily, the top shelf for the glasses would come off the channel, and some things would be dirty upon completion. Other than that, everything was very good.

Came to Brief Respite with a group of friends for a weekend of skiing, snowboarding, hiking and just lounging around and the house was perfect. The kitchen was well stocked and we prepared a couple meals there. We also enjoyed sitting around the wood fireplace in the great room upstairs. Great trip and a great home!
