Previous renters did not leave until 410pm so cleaners started late. Because they stayed sooo late, there were NOT wagons at the ferry. We were unable to check in until well after 5pm. Disappointing check in

We had a great family vacation here. All as described and very nice location!

My husband, Daughter and I had an amazing couple of days in Robins Rest. The house was charming and was secluded from the crowds which was really nice. It was only a very short distance to the beach and the bay and only a 15 minute walk to town. My 4 year old daughter loved the room with the bunk beds! She thought it was the coolest! We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back next year. The host Kat sent us a detailed procedure and instruction guide a couple days before our check in so we didn't even have to contact her once! Everything was very clearly explained! Thank you Kat for a great stay!

Perfectly located away from the OB crowds, steps from Fire Island’s beautiful beaches, the house provides all the basics for a glorious summer stay — roof deck, grille, outdoor shower, umbrella’d front deck, well-equipped kitchen, ceiling (and plenty of other) fans. Sunsets over the bay, moonrise over the sea.

We had an amazing time. We stayed here last year too. We love Kat's house. It has so many nice features (comfortable beds, a wonderful dining room/kitchen and living room, a deck with great views, a refreshing outdoor shower) and is walkable to town, the beach, and the Shack in Atlantique. There are also beach chairs, umbrellas etc. making it so easy to enjoy the day on the beach. We hope to stay here again. Thanks, Kat!

We loved our time at this cute beach house. Its a short walk to the beach and not very crowded. It’s definitely worth having to walk from ocean beach and sand. The sand wagons were a great help to get groceries from ocean beach. I definitely recommend bringing a flash light if you are going out at night. The house was stocked with kids sand toys and shovels. There’s even a rice cooker! The owner,Kat, checked in with us when we arrived and when there was a weather warning to see how we were doing (which we appreciated.) Overall, we had a great time and woshed we stayed longer.

Great 3 bedroom house with easy access to beach and short walk to restaurants & shops. Lovely elevated deck and outdoor shower. Two wagons available right across from ferry terminal make it easy to transport your luggage to the house. Fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer. Books, puzzles, and games available. We love this house and hope to visit again!

The house delivered on its promise of a lovely roof deck and quiet location away from the bustle of Ocean Beach center and close to a quiet and gorgeous Fire Island beach. Our “hosts” were super helpful and responsive. Ocean breezes, quiet neighbors, sun and sand. 😊

This part of Fire Island is secluded and peaceful, just a charming spot with a very short and easy walk to the beach. The house has all you need, a perfect spot to unwind and watch birds. We especially loved sunset on the Roof deck. We will be looking for an opportunity to return!

Pros
Short walk to the beach
More quiet then Ocean Beach
Have beach to yourself
Cons
Walking through sand can be a chore if you plan to go to OB often
Buggy, seemed worse then OB but I could be wrong
The place is small
Decent walk to any restaurant bar
This place was a good choice for me considering the cost, I was mainly looking to go to the beach, Grill, and go for walks. We were with a couple that had a stroller and they were tortured with the sandy walk but we did not go to town often. Place was clean, great outdoor shower, nice decks.

I spent a week here and am already planning my trip back! You are steps from the beach in a sweet, quiet neighborhood. Being on Robbins Rest means you have total peace and privacy - a great way to spend a relaxing vacation. The house is comfortable and the rooftop deck is delightful in the mornings and evenings. "Downtown" Ocean Beach is only about a 10 minute walk when you feel like hitting the shops and restaurants. The house has just about everything you need - beach chairs, towels, linens. The kitchen has a generous range of pots, pans, and cooking utensils. Kat made check-in clear and easy. The beach carts (wheelbarrows?) they have for you at the ferry dock make all the difference in getting your things out to the house.Bring your bug spray! That's not a comment on the house - that's just the reality of Fire Island. I will definitely be back!
