To good: The beach is three doors down and not crowded at all - it's amazing! The house easily fits a crowd, which is great when you vacation with teens. The upstairs is open and bright/airy. The views from the upstairs deck are beautiful. We were all generally happy with this house.
The less than perfect: The bathrooms are very small/narrow - my husbands knees literally hit the sink when sitting in the upstairs bathroom but the bathrooms were updated, which was nice. There are a few things that should be addressed which have been left unattended, i.e., mold/mildew on the bedroom curtains in the upstairs bedroom which should be replaced, a stain on an uncovered comforter in the same room, which should have a duvet and there's no light in the outdoor shower, but they weren't show stoppers. The walk between the town and the house is a bit annoying due to the sand path but we knew this in advance and we got our exercise :) It would also be nice to have a few beach chairs included with the rental.
Overall, I would stay there again.

We all had an amazing time. Convenience to the beach was a bonus. Spectacular views of the ocean n the bay. Plenty of space , screen doors were annoying ( but I also live on the beach and understand how beat up everything gets). Would definitely rent this house again.

Large home with multiple level decks which have nice ocean views. Living room and kitchen area are very open with a large dining table, island, and multiple sliders.
Walk is a little long from ocean beach town with some being through sand - but was properly highlighted as such beforehand.
Would recommend a 2nd indoor shower added. There is a heated outdoor shower with some privacy.
All in all, good trip for extended family of 12. Thanks

An expensive and DIRTY Family Vacation
The property was dirty. All 8 beds had sand in them when we arrived indicating the beds were not changed prior to our arrival. Sheets, curtains, etc, were stained, but apparently not clean either. There was green and black mold on curtains, window and refrigerators. The AC in the Master Bedrm did not work, it took 5 days from our arrival to get clean sheets, and one inadequate AC. After the new AC was on for 4 hrs in a 9x13' Master Bdrm, inside temp was 87 with outside temp 89 = inadequate. Tried to use a fan prior to AC arrival fan, but it spewed out dirt and dust, so we took apart the fan and cleaned it. Fire alarm went off every 5 min, the local rep's solution was to remove fire alarms instead of fixing. Many screens were torn or missing, so without AC it was hot. Opening the windows brought many mosquitos. It is also unsafe in that a sliding glass door has no balcony and the drop is 8-10' with only 2 (2x4") rails at least 10" apart to prevent falling. We were very concerned with two of our grandchildren of less than 4 years old. The location of the property is within 200' of the Ocean Beach which was great, but this was the most expensive, yet filthy vacation our family had. Major changes in cleaning and maintenance of the property must be made. Vrbo and Vacasa can not be trusted to provide the product that they advertise.

Not what we expected
I typically do not complain...ever. This property has 2 rooms underneath the house without windows. One of the rooms had a door that wouldn't close, bugs everywhere. The other was so damp the bedding felt wet. No one should ever consider this acceptable for guests. The upstairs had no a/c and that was the kitchen, dining area and living room. No problem, beach town right? Except the screens were ripped enough to walk through. I called to let you know, was told someone would be there the next day. Never happened. So last night bugs all over the walls in the kitchen, of course because the screens can't be closed and in order to breathe the sliders must remain open. The bathroom was better in every frat house I have ever been in during college. That means it was terrible. The only full size bathroom in a house that "houses" so many people was gross in every way. You could not feel clean. Think public shower. I am extremely disappointed and VRBO, I have stayed at multiple properties that you list, this one should not be up to your standards. I am extremely unhappy.

Beautiful Getaway
The house was perfect for a long weekend with friends. Has an amazing location in Robbins Rest with views of the ocean from everywhere in the house.

Great views, needs a little work
Lovely views of the sunrise and sunset. Solid internet. Can accommodate lots of people easily with the many bedrooms and double fridge. The ACs, grill, screen doors and outdoor shower need some TLC. If you have a lot of stuff, the sand walk through the sand to get to the house can be cumbersome. We Ended up hiring a local to help us carry everything.

Steps Away from a quiet and private part of ocean beach!
Nice fire island rental only steps from the very private and quiet section of ocean beach. Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of bath and beach towels. Clean home. Needs some work on the sliders and windows as well as noisy air conditioners in the Bedrooms. I suggest bringing your own beach chairs and umbrellas even though there is a supply of chairs No usable umbrellas. Beware of the walk to the house on sand for 10 minutes. It might be challenging. Once you arrive it’s beautiful. We enjoyed our stay.

Great house!!
This house was perfect for our group! Clean, stocked with plenty of towels/necessities, and even had extra air mattresses. It’s also minutes away from the beach which we loved. Would definitely stay here again

What a beach!!
This location is amazing. Steps away from a beautiful ocean beach with relatively few people. The strip of Fire Island called Robbin’s Rest is surrounded by National Seashore - this gives a buffer from the crowds, and all the rules and regulations of nearby Ocean Beach.
The walk from the ferry is about 20 min - last 7 min a little rough walking through soft sand with all of our things. A local grocery in Ocean Beach delivers - not cheap but convenient.
The house is not pristine - it’s a well used beach house. The lay-out is great. Nice common/dining areas, porch with nice furniture, lots of bedrooms. We had 10 people - I think 16 would have felt crowded. The bathrooms could use updating. Only 1 shower indoors - the outdoor shower is functional but feels damp and enclosed. Kitchen is well equipped. The air conditioning window units were NOISY.
There’s a good supply of beach chairs, umbrellas, and some toys in a small shed below the house.
Upon arrival, there were problems with the cleaning - we called Vacasa and they remedied most of the issues.

Large beach house
I loved how close this house was to the beach, but did not love how far away it is from the town. I did not even realize ocean beach went out this far. It is definitely a good 20 minute walk from the ferry, and 10 minutes of that is through the sand.
Great views of the water from the kitchen. Multiple decks to enjoy. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of sheets, towels, pillows.

Beware
This review took me a while to write bc I had to try and be nice, but after careful thought, I should really warn others. Firstly, there is a long walk in deep sand to get to the home. This was no where disclosed in the description and became a nightmare with filled coolers, strollers, children and a wheelchair/handicap. Check in was at 4 and when we arrived, the cleaning service seemed to have just begun. The house was broken and not working. From the empty hot tub, broken sauna, lifted and weathered wood stairs, grill, and washer/dryer. My mother almost broke her neck on a lifted stair trying to get up. The kitchen is infested with ants and we lost quite a bit of food due to them taking over. The setup of the house is a little weird with the kitchen at the top. The bedrooms in the basement had mice and was very dark and dingy. The location is very close to the beach and that was nice. Overall we tried to make the best of it, but definitely NOT a place for kids or older family members who can’t walk or climb stairs, etc..

Unfortunate stay
This house was obviously much loved 20 years ago, but it hasn't aged well. We've stayed in lots of Fire Island homes over the years, this one is unusually decrepit. Rotting steps, damp, mildewed rooms, bare wires dangling from outlets where the fixtures were ripped off. Even the smoke detectors had been ripped out of the ceilings. The half-rotted remains of a hot tub, light switches everywhere but few hooked up to anything. Planters filled with dirt and cigarette butts, garbage abandoned by the front area, construction refuse clogging the undercroft.
The most disappointing area was the downstairs (or "murder basement" as we dubbed it) - This claims it's an 8 bedroom house. It is not - it's a 6 bedroom house, but they've walled off parts of the storage area and put bedframes on the bare concrete floor in one area (and some kind of rotting carpet stuff in the other). The beds were soaking wet and stank, wires looping everywhere. We are familiar with the eccentricities of Fire Island guest sheds and add-on rooms, so believe me when I say this was terrifying. The people who were supposed to sleep there ended up on the couches upstairs.
There were four blow up mattresses for them to use too, but all of them but one broken or missing parts.
This was someone's dream home once - there's a height chart drawn in a doorframe where someone had measured their kids as they grew up. It starts at 2003, which means the house was last painted sometime before then. Might be alright for a small group of college or high-school kids (DEFINITELY not safe for children) - but the paperwork said there was a very strict 30-plus age limit on it, so.
Anyway, you can can see the ocean out the side windows. The internet worked well. The blue couches upstairs had probably been bought within the last 5 years, which is good because they became beds. None of us were brave enough to try the washer/dryer or sauna.
I takes a lot of guts to rent a junker in this kind of condition - we all left a day early rather than endure an extra night here. We'd booked 3 and only used 2.

NIGHTMARE! BAIT AND SWITCH...
NIGHTMARE! BAIT AND SWITCH - Getting to this house requires a 200 yard walk across hot deep sand, this was not disclosed until AFTER our booking. The house was loaded with ANTS, was overly weathered and dingy, and had broken floorboards and screens. Far from a paradise, especially for a young family. Sign at the beach said ‘NO LIFEGUARDS ON DUTY, SWIMMING PROHIBITED’. Very upsetting on so many levels, and VRBO did nothing to make this right!

DISASTER
this property is a disaster. First off you need to walk four blocks through the sand to get here. The stairs leading up to the deck feel like they are going to fall off the house. One of the steps is completly broken you could out your foot straight through it. The house has ants everywhere it is not clean. There is garbage piled up around the bin in te front that animals have opened. The showers are dirty with old bars of saop and half used travel toiletries. On top of all this vacasa who runs this property changed the pricing and fees after i told them i was having difficulty getting the three different credit cards i tried to book. Stay away from this home
