About this house rental
Steep yourself in the warm and peaceful surroundings of our spacious 2 bedroom, 3 bath home just steps for the beautiful Yachats River. Heron House is a welcoming haven for your romantic getaways, family vacations, reunions or retreats. We can accommodate additional occupants if they are age 5 or younger. The interior features natural wood beams and cathedral ceilings, skylights, Kashmir rugs, lush towels, and colorful comforters. If you are traveling with small children, we have a high chair and pack and play for you! We take pride in providing our guests with a clean, well furnished and environmentally friendly vacation home.
Enjoy our neighborhood heated pool which is open seasonally June 29 - Labor Day. Year round Tennis courts and playground area available near the pool in addition to a fire pit for roasting smores.
About Pets: Dogs are welcome at Heron House. However our insurance policy does not cover the following breeds: Akita, Chow, American Staffordshire Terrior, Presa Canario Pit Bull, Rottweiller, Doberman. Also, dogs must remain on leash anytime outdoors.
Please note: This home is dog friendly with a two dog maximum. A $100.00 fee applies. While we welcome your dogs, we do not allow them to be on furniture or bedding. Please let us know if you have questions about this policy.

This is one of the best appointed homes we have ever stayed in. True “home kitchen” with every appliance needed and in perfect working order. And that is true for every single one of the rooms in this home.

Overall, a nice place to stay. Short walk into town. The listing should be updated: really just a 1 bedroom house with dedicated walls. The other bedroom is loft style that is not as private as some people would want, especially if a large group of people are staying. Very quiet and comfortable. A bit dated style wise if that’s important to you. I would recommend this listing to my family and friends.

The Heron House served as the perfect homelike base for our holiday get together with two generations of friends and family. This was my second stay in this charming we’ll appointed cabin on the Yachats River and it won’t be my last.
I have only one suggestion to improve convenience and perhaps safety. Most of the electrical sockets in the original part of the cabin are worn and in need of replacements. It was often tricky to charge phones etc and we found it necessary to prop charger receptacle in place to keep them plugged in.

We have stayed here many times and appreciate so many things about Heron House -- the cozy feeling, the well-equipped kitchen, the proximity to the Yachats River, the swimming pool, and the quick walk to the beach. We look forward to visiting many more times.

Great sleeping options for our party of 8. Kids slept in bay window beds and adults had the bedrooms. Great layout, 3 bathrooms was very nice. Close to town, river and bay. Would stay here again

Wé had a fantastic stay at Heron House. The house was extremely comfortable for two families with teenagers. We had plenty of room to spread out, but the common space was ample, also. Thank you!

We loved our stay. The house was like staying with your hippy aunt, in a good way. BUT the hot tub and swimming pool were inaccessible. The building where they were housed was locked. These amenities should be removed from your listing.

Cute, cozy space for a family gathering with a lot of flex space. Appreciated all the extras like conditioner, lotion, fire starter, etc.

Great family spot
We enjoyed our stay over the Thanksgiving holiday. Kitchen and oven were a bit on the small side, but the overall house was spacious and had a large family room upstairs in addition to the downstairs living room.
Location was also within walking distance of town and the 804 trail. Would stay here again!

Wildlife Central
I love staying at Quiet Waters, and Heron House was a great spot. We always see a good variety of birds along the river, as well as the occasional otter. Having a snuggly house with a fireplace to return to after our outdoor adventures was lovely.

River front house?
While billed as river front & located next to the water, you could hardly even see the river because it was so grown up along the perimeter of the river. That made great difficulty in trying to fish. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay. The house was fine & the weather was beautiful.

Very nice property, relaxing and fit us ages 83,79, 5&7!!
Nice clean property, well stocked, loved the wood throughout the house, reminded us of homes and cabins where we grew up in Upper Michigan! Only thing was a bit confusing was finding the house, found the garage parking number right away though so didn't take long. Thanks for sharing wonderful home with us!!

Just the best!
We had a fabulous stay at Heron House. The neighborhood was quiet and serene with a beautiful setting along the Yachats River. The house was fully equipped with comfortable beds (the coziest couch), excellent Wifi (a must for my work-cation) and while Verizon cell service was por, we could make calls and text over the internet. Can’t wait to return!

A great stay.
We really enjoyed the stay. Our kids said numerous times. We could live here. The location was great for many places close by. The instructions were easy to follow for checkin and checkout. We did find some things that had been put away by others unclean and we wished the TVs were more up-to-date as we were not able to connect some of our devices and streaming abilities. However, we were quite busy and kept plenty busy without those usual diversions.

Very quiet neighborhood, easy walk to the beach (we used the trail by the basketball court). One of the best stocked kitchens and it was nice having treats and doggie bags.

Perfect, Peaceful Getaway
If you like quiet and laid back, out of the bustle of the tourist towns, this is the perfect. place! Loved the cabin village along the river. LOTS of room and places to sleep even though it only has 2 'official' bedrooms. Lots of space for everyone. Perfect location to explore Cape Perpetua Park and the dunes of Florence.

Cozy cabin by the river
Our stay here was so enjoyable. The house had everything we needed and we thought the beds were comfortable. Our children enjoyed the window beds and playing games in the upstairs loft. Peaceful view of the river and easy access to Cape Perpetua and Yachats.

Quiet Stay in Beautiful Surroundings
Enjoyed a quiet birthday celebration for our 2 year old. The grounds were just gorgeous. Waking up in the mornings to see the breathtakingly serene riverfront just outside the huge windows was almost unreal. Our toddler loved "hiking" the little trails thated down to the river itself and watching leaves float on the calm water.
The house was a littler dirtier than I am used to -- although, my husband does describe me as a "clean-freak" --probably due to dogs being welcome. The bathrooms were well cleaned, though.
The house is big and easily accommodated 2 separate families (5 people, including a toddler.) As another reviewer stated, the loft area is quite loud for anyone staying up there. The sounds in the living room below are heard as easily as though you are right there.
The community was very friendly with lots of hand-waving and smiles as we walked through with our little one.
Over all, this was such a wonderful house and I hope to stay again. It was just the place we were hoping for. Thank you, Nikki!

Quiet and spacious
We had a lovely time staying in this large cabin by the water. Had everything we needed and more. Lots of space for family to spread out. Nice walking path along the river to the Yachats bay. Would absolutely rent again!

Quaint and quirky
Fun house with lots of space for our family of four. Sadly was stuck inside due to wildfires and couldn’t experience the joys of the river and ocean. Had a power outage and eventually was able to find a plug in phone and candles. Well equipped for just about everything. Thanks.

Close to town with nature around
There’s a full kitchen, spacious house, and a small outdoor space. The place is close to town and to a river if you like short walks in the morning. There was plenty of room for more guests but 6 is the sweet spot I think. The only thing that wasn’t mentioned in the listing is that cooking crab indoors is not allowed. Make sure you bring an outdoor burner and pot if you plant to do that here. Would recommend!

Great home base for coastal Oregon vacation
We loved how quiet the neighborhood was and it was an easy walk to the beach, which we did a few times a day. The kitchen is quite small and old but was adequate for us. It might not be great for a large group, however. There are 3 separate sleeping areas but 2 of them are lofts so consider if that works for you when booking. It was fine for us, but sounds travel easily in there and when one person was up and around everyone would hear it. Overall a great experience. The neighbor next door was so sweet. It was a pleasure to get tips from him on good local places to see. The homes here are VERY close together and the yard is more like a shared common area so again something for potential renters to consider whether or not it will meet their needs. We did not explore the town much at all, but instead took advantage of all that nature has to offer, due to Covid. But there was so much to do we couldn’t have had a nicer vacation.

Great grandkid getaway
The location is perfect: easy walk to town and the beach but quiet with a lovely ambiance. The grandkids loved having the Yachats River in the backyard. They discovered a (vaguely unauthorized) path to the beach that avoided crossing the highway. The house has great separation of spaces. While the grandkids watched movies (of which there were many to choose from), Grandma and Grandpa could sip wine on the back deck or snuggle in the upstairs den. Yachats is our favorite beach getaway and we will come to Heron House whenever we can get it. Interestingly, the grandkids were most excited about the pool, but they had so much fun exploring they never used it!
