We had a very nice stay in Searsport, ME. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do, and host Rick provided multiple suggestions--such as where to get the best fresh lobster and well as local museums, restaurants, best coffeehouses, state parks, and a local indoor farmer's market--that really made our stay special.
The unit is quite large and the kitchen was well equipped for the light cooking we did. We especially appreciated the nut crackers and piques, which were a big help when we had dinner at Youngs Lobster Pound in Belfast.
The only reason we marked the "Overall Rating" as a 4 rather than a 5 is because the building is very old and the ground floor unit has a strong musty smell. Once we were inside for a few minutes, we got used to the odor but it kind of hit us each time we entered the building. Also, we are not large people, but we found the king-sized bed to be very uncomfortable. It either needs more support down the middle or the mattress/box springs need replacing. Finally, our only other nit is that the listing mentions a flat screen TV and while one does exist, it's a Roku TV, not cable or satellite TV. We don't have a Roku account so we don't really know how that service works, but the Olympics were going on during our stay and we were unable to watch much of it.
Overall, however, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Vrbo.

The whole place was clean, airy, and well stocked. I appreciated the little extras like disposable razors (because, of course, I forgot mine) and a wooden shower seat. The outside is beautifully kept with flower boxes, trellis, and potted plants. The night sky is perfect for viewing here, too, because there's no light pollution whatsoever.
If you're a night owl like me, though, bring a sleep mask because the bedroom doors are glass and the living room gets a lot of mornjng light. Generally it's a very quiet area so sleeping in is no problem.
And therein was my only problem with my stay. A few days in I was woken to powertools being used on the other side of the wall. The host was in the process of adding to the building, which I didn't know about and he wasn't aware would be loud at all. Host was very helpful, though, pausing the work right away, and immediately refunded my stay for the affected days and offered to find me other accommodation. That turned this into just a bump in my vacation. I understand these things happen, but the way he handled it made me happy to stay for the rest of my time and still rave about my time there.
Also note that I was traveling with my Shiba Inu and he loved this place! Very peaceful and quiet with lots of trails to walk nearby. This was my first time staying with him away from home and it was the perfect choice.

Beautiful place, Great location
Only problem was a very poor internet connection which faded in and out (signal strength) and very slow feed rate

There was confusion as to which one it was but eventually got straightened out. Enjoyed the downstairs much better..it would have been nice to have dish soap to clean up with..other than that good location for what we were doing.

So comfortable & relaxing. Perfect location to see everything in the area. We loved our stay in Searsport.

The unit is in the back of a house off highway 1 a miles south of Sealsport. The driveway is hard to recognize, particuarly at night. There is ample space in the unit including a large kitchen/eat in breakfast room, a living room and a separate bedroom. The bathroom is behind the bedroom and also large. Hot water was available. The bathroom door wouldn't stay closed without a stopper and there were areas in need of cleaning. Overall a comfortable place, but not fancy.

Location was great you can go up and down the coast. Getting in and out of the shower is difficult for older people it is very high step possible accident. Wife says it is very musky in the apartment she burnt candles and air fresheners. We liked the deck but had to go buy gas for the grille this didn't seem right to us. We had a great vacation though loved Maine and like I said location was central for going both ways along the coast.

The property was centrally located for doing things up and down the coast. It was comfortable and I had everything I needed to relax after exploring all day!

Property was as described. Nicely appointed kitchen. Perfect size for 2. The location was great for seeing some of the central coastal towns and an easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. A bit of road noise , but on the outskirts of the city, which was nice. Would definitely stay again. Owners were quick to respond if needed.

Centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Nice property and very clean apartment. I would recommend it very highly

Very sufficient and comfortable. Wonderful king bed that was very close to ours so that we slept well. Since this is right on Route 1, there was a lot of traffic noise but it was not a show stopper for us. We could not figure out the tv since we do not have cable ourselves. Some instructions would have been useful but again that did not really bother us. Overall, this was an excellent stay and we appreciated staying here.

We enjoyed our stay. The property is located on a Main Street, but the traffic did not effect the charm of the cottage. It was true to the description. Two recommendations would be to add screens to the windows, so you can enjoy the lovely Maine air and a dresser in the bedroom for those who stay for any length of time.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The kitchen was well equiped and the place had a nice deck with grill. It is a short 1/2 block walk to a lovely farm stand and a quick drive to numerous state parks with scenic vistas and numerous villages. Our only issue was with the cleanliness of the carpets when we arrived (quite a bit of dog hair from the previous occupant which triggered my wife's asthma), but the owners were able to rectify within 48 hours.

The apartment was spacious and well-furnished with a private deck. There was plenty of room for the dogs, and it’s close to parks for walking/hiking as well as near a sandy beach that welcomes dogs.

The owners are very responsive both while renting the property and responding to any questions while we were there. The apartment is well equipped, especially the kitchen which was most appreciated. Very comfortable bed. It is within easy driving or biking distance of Belfast and not too far from Bar Harbor. We had spent time in Bar Harbor prior to staying in Waldo county and it was nice to escape the other tourist and be able to enjoy mid coast Maine. The lack of natural lighting was missed but the porch is very comfortable.

Our stay at Brenda and Mike’s was absolutely phenomenal. We spent an entire week here and from the first moment we walked in, it felt like home.
The place is just minutes away from Belfast, which is right in the middle of Maine coastline, which gives you options to venture out north or south easily ..
Cottage has everything you will need for your stay away. It is very quite, exceptionally clean. It also has a patio and a little grill.
We loved every minute here and highly recommend it to anyone desiring an escape from a busy city life.

My bf and I and our two dogs stayed here for 7 days in June and we absolutely loved it! Well equipped spot and especially kitchen, very homey feeling, great location to visit coastal towns, bar harbor/Acadia, etc. we loved the close town of Belfast and great local walking paths.
The spot itself does run rather chilly, which is not an issue but just a heads up bring some cozy slippers! There were some flies as someone mentioned in other reviews when we got there, but if you open the windows to let them out and close again, they went away within the first few hours, totally just an older building thing which were familiar with!
Otherwise the place was great, communicative hosts, tidy place, cozy bed!

Just what we needed not to big nor to small love the kitchen area. Had a good laugh in the bathroom, I'm 5 2 and the mirror was a tad bit high could just see my nose on up. But that I could deal. Overall I would go back to the place for r and r.

Administration for booking unavailable via phone or email, multiple attempts by me to speak with customer service were unable to reach. I never stayed at this property, but Owners were very helpful and responsive.

Brenda was very accommodating and the apartment had that rustic feel my wife and I love. The location of the apartment was for us to commute to Bangor and Acadia National Park! Belfast is a great little town! Would definitely stay at Brenda’s again!
2.0 / 5.0
The apartment was good size and comfortable for 2 people. There were modern appliances in the kitchen and the bed was comfy. Keep in mind it is an old farmhouse; there were quirky things like light switches for the living room and bedroom located in the bathroom, also lots of house flies as it was the change of season from summer to fall and they were all coming in from somewhere. Cleanliness could be improved, but again, it's an old farmhouse. Not too much of interest located nearby but a great base for exploring all along mid-coast Maine including Acadia National Park. Lots of beautiful spots for kayaking and fishing.
