We spent an incredible month in this lovely, well-appointed cottage. It comfortably accommodated two couples for a portion of our stay. The photos and descriptions, as good as they are, just don’t do it justice. Catherine has carefully curated and provisioned every detail for a perfect Provence experience. She provided a wealth of great local information, and was always accessible.
As for the location, La Maisonnette is ideally situated for exploring the Luberon and beyond. We had both a car and e-bikes but used the bikes 90% of the time. The bike ride to and from the house is marvelous. So are the bike rides to Lacoste, Goult, Bonnieux, Gordes, and Roussillon, In our opinion Menerbes is the best of the hilltop villages in the area with plenty of dining there and in nearby Les Beaumettes.
In short, we highly recommend La Maisonnette as an outstanding vacation experience.

Best find for a stay in terms of quality/price, imho by far vs other options in Luberon. Traditional mas, immaculate inside, appears to have just been renovated, clean throughout, crisp new linens, comfy beds, two brand new walk-in travertine-tiled spacious showers on each floor, well-appointed kitchen (large fridge, gas stove, all sorts of utensils glassware etc), 3 powerful A/C units. Built as shepherd auberge leaning to hillside well-shielded from Mistral winds that normally make sitting outside unbearable (but not here though). Wake up greeted by sunrise, and the outside lounging area on the 2nd floor terrace gets plenty of sunshine all a/noon. Located 1 mile/20 min walk through the woods and vineyards from village of Ménerbes, also one of best options to stay in Luberon, pretty central, not as overrun by crowds but not too small so as to have five restaurant options + a weekly mkt on Thursdays. House situated on quiet narrow gravel road where you might not see one car or person pass by the entire day. Owner reached out early on w/advice & assistance. Tip: for bkfst w/best view in town grab a croissant at the village boulangerie and head to Cafe du Progres to enjoy the valley view from balcony. Highly recommend.

Lovely property, 10 minute walk into village and great location for exploring the Luberon area. Small outside seating area but plenty of room for 4 to sit outside to eat.
Great communication from owner.

All in all we enjoyed our stay at the nice and comfortable house in a secluded area very much. Not so easy to reach on a bumpy and narrow road but it's managable, unless a car is coming from the other side. Parking space for bigger car and 3 bicycles rather narrow.
The house is furnished tastefully and has lots of amenities, the bed- and bathrooms spacious with everything you need and more. The patio upstairs very nice with the beautiful and calming look into nature.
A few little things that were not perfect: towels left in the dryer, wet and stinky dishrags in the cleaning cupboard, dripping water faucet in the upstairs bathroom and (may be) a better corkscrew.... But thanks a lot for the welcome basket - that was nice! We had a wonderful time at La Maisonette.

I cannot say enough good things about Catherine and her charming home. I stayed for 2 weeks from March to April to relax, rejuvenate and explore the area.
I've stayed in many, many VRBO homes around the world, including others in southern France, and this had to be one of my most favorite. The setting is sublime, about a 15 minute (beautiful) walk from Menerbes. The home itself has every creature comfort one could want and is tranquil both inside and out. I was there before the plants and trees came into full bloom and can only imagine how much more spectacular it will be!
If you're someone who enjoys peace and quiet and an absolutely charming homebase that's away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. (If you prefer to be in the middle of things or surrounded by people, this isn't the place for you. If you prefer big screen TVs to birdsong, this isn't the place for you.)
The town of Menerbes itself is enchanting and a perfect location for exploring the rest of Provence.
My thanks to Catherine for being such a welcoming and generous host -- the two weeks I spent at La Maisonnette were everything I could have wished for and more.

Provence Holiday
What a great property tucked away on a very private area. It’s a great location to come back to at the end of the day exploring the surrounding area. Great winery’s bar close to the property and the village is breathtaking. Catherine is a great host and very responsive to any needs that may come up. Book this property if you want a place to relax in comfort after a day exploring.

Maisonette
Extremely comfortable home. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces—trellis garden for breakfast and upper terrace for dinner! Lovely decor, obviously carried out with much loving attention to detail. Menerbes is an easy drive to many other villages in the Vaucluse. We spend many enjoyable hours exploring the area!

Provence at its finest!
My wife and I stayed at La Maisonette in Menerbes for a week. It is a beautiful home, with everything one needs for an extended stay. The village of Menerbes makes a great base to explore Provence. The house is as pretty as the pictures show; the kitchen is well stocked and Katherine is a great host. Drinks and dinner on the private deck is particularly romantic. We loved everything about this place and hope some day to come back.

La Maisonette is a perfect provencial house in a perfect neighbourhood.
The house is located in a beautiful area in the outskirts of Menerbes. It is warm, welcoming and fully equipped 2 storey provencial house wrapped in green scenery in the woods. If you are looking for a tranquil farm house with the sound of cicadas in the background in the amazing Luberon region, this is the perfect place. On our arrival, we were happy to find a nice bottle of wine and some tasty treats as we arrived quite late in the evening. Catherine, the owner was very hospitable, but at the same time sensitive to our privacy and very attentive and kind. We highly recommend La Maisonette and looking forward to our next visit. Outstanding Provence home with everything one might want for a stay in a delightful Luberon village
We felt like we were hosted by a most welcoming relative. Catherine’s home, in addition to being spotless and beautifully decorated has everything you will ever need for a most comfortable stay. More kitchen utensils than an average chef would require with all staples included not to mention a well thought out welcome basket of goodies. We absolutely loved this home and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Provence getaway. Thanks Catherine!!

Wonderful Week in Provence!
We had such a lovely stay at La Maisonette. From the start Catherine was delightful and responsive. We had actually booked for the previous year after seeing the terrific reviews, but couldn’t make it due to COVID. We were incredibly grateful for Catherine’s generosity to give us the same dates this year. What a welcome respite it was after this past year and a half!
The house is beautiful. We enjoyed the downstairs and upstairs patios for our nightly apero and cooked lovely dinners in the kitchen from the local farmers’ markets. We loved our daily walks into charming Menerbes, exploring the restaurants, shops and bars.
Thanks you Catherine for sharing your beautiful home. We feel recharged. Now we have to figure out how to to keep that feeling going!

We were welcomed by Corinne and a beautiful fruit basket filled with local fruits and a bottle of local rosé wine.... We loved the decor and cleanliness... So many perfect details! Catherine has thought of everything for this darling vacation home! We had the most excellent stay with fabulous memories at the “Maisonette” and hope to revisit very soon!

Beautiful cottage in the French countryside
The cottage was a perfect place to base our travels around the Luberon countryside! Well stocked with everything you need. The location is about a mile from Menerbes, easy car ride or walk to town. Very comfortable with the a/c or plenty of windows to open for a nice breeze in the evening. Corinne had a beautiful fruit basket and bottle of wine waiting for us to enjoy on the upper terrace or the lower courtyard. We will return! Thank you Corinne!

Wonderful stay
My family's recent stay at the farmhouse was excellent. Both the decor and cleanliness of the home are second to none. Catherine has clearly thought of every amenity a guest might require while staying at the home. The location is wonderful in that you're very close to town, yet nicely situated in the countryside with lovely views from the master bedroom window. We visited almost all the towns in the Lourmarin valley and Menerbes was easily our favorite. Thus, we felt fortunate to call Menerbes our home base while exploring this region of Provence. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Catherine's pre-arrival brochure / instruction booklet were the most in depth and helpful I've ever received when booking a VRBO.

Wonderful to be back at La Maisonette
I always enjoy coming back to this picturesque part of France, and to Catherine's house. It is great to see it available when planning a trip. Very charming and comfortable experience as the previous reviews attest. "Chapeau."

Wonderful property
We had a truly marvelous experience at La Petite Maisonette. It is a charming place, beautifully decorated and outfitted with everything one would need. The location is superb, walking distance to Menerbes and a short drive to other Luberon villages. We would recommend it highly!

Perfect experience
We weren't sure what to expect as it was our first time in Provence but we were blown away by the beauty and comfort of La Maisonette. The surrounding views and proximity of so many lovely day trips made for the perfect stay. Catherine's recommendations came in very handy and her home was the ideal spot to unwind after a busy day, with everything we needed for cooking and pretending that we lived there. The availability of supplies in Ménerbes provided all our needs and was a pleasant stop whether arriving by car on our way back from touring, or walking to the village from La Maisonette for a meal, a happy hour, groceries, or just the view. If we had known what we know now, we would have booked a longer stay as we were not ready to leave when the time came. We shall return!

LA MAISONNETTE REVIEW
VERY CUTE COTTAGE, HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED. GREAT KITCHEN WITH ALL UTENSILS. A/C UNIT BETWEEN KITCHEN AND LOWER BEDROOM IS IN THE WRONG PLACE, NEEDS TO BE IN THE BEDROOM, A/C UNIT WE COULD NOT CONTROL, OTHERWISE WE HAD NO COMPLAINTS.

Home Away From Home!
We thoroughly enjoyed La Maisonnette. This lovely charming stone cottage was such a welcome contrast to our Hong Kong apartment and SF Bay Area house. After a full day of exploring the nearby Luberon towns, we found ourselves enjoying the outdoor patios, taking in the view and admiring the details and warmth of this well built old house. While it had all the modern amenities travelers expect - fully equipped kitchen, well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, AC, towel warmers etc., one could also feel the thoughtfulness of the owner in all the little things it provides (super cleanliness, power converters for different countries, iPhone connectors, seat cushions for patio furniture, guidebooks and maps). We gave the upstair bedroom suite to our teenager daughters and they had a blast. It was good bonding time for them (we assumed) while my wife and I enjoyed French wine in the patio. Our tight itinerary allowed only three nights here but there’s really no better way to experience the way of life in Provence.
Merci Catherine and Corrine for all your help and hospitality!

A perfect week in Provence
La Maisonette was perfect for our week's stay in Provence. Great location, well appointed; we had everything we needed. The weather was terrific and we ate on the outdoor patio a few times. There was lots of information available at the house about places to visit. The Wifi was very reliable. Lots more to see in Provence, so we hope to return in the future.

The Highlight of My Trip!
This little house located just outside of Ménerbes was the highlight of my trip! I absolutely adored the simple yet charming decorations and furnishings. I have found that while visiting other countries, staying in an actual home is better than a hotel. Not only does this little house boast two gorgeous bedrooms complete with bathrooms for each, it also has a washer and dryer and two amazing patio areas. I loved being able to cook breakfast and dinner in the spacious and clean kitchen area. It helped with the cost of my travels and aided in keeping me healthier while abroad. It only takes twenty minutes to walk into the cute town of Ménerbes, and much of what Provence has to offer is available thirty minutes by car. Don't hesitate and grab this beautiful little home while you can. You won't regret drinking wine out on the patio with the beauty of Provence all around you, nor the sun shining through and waking you from the most relaxing sleep you have ever had.

We felt immersed in French culture!
We loved our stay in Menerbes and your well appointed home. The back yard seating area was wonderful. We had cheese and wine there each night and were lucky enough to have cloudless skies filled with stars. Looking forward to your plans for the first floor suite and hope to be back someday soon! Thanks Catherine!

A wonderful private retreat in the French countryside!
We booked this based on the reviews and it actually exceeded our expectations. The highlight is definitely the master suite on the second level, which has a window that opens up to magnificent views of valleys and hillsides as far as the eye can see (it's east-facing, so if you're up early enough and the skies are clear, you can see the sun rise). There's also a peaceful patio for reading and relaxing that can be accessed directly from the master suite.
The kitchen is indeed fully stocked -- and there was a chilled bottle of Domaine de la Citadelle Chatagnier Rose waiting for us when we arrived (which we drank almost immediately while enjoying the upstairs view). We cooked multiple full meals and never had a situation where we couldn't find a utensil or some sort of kitchenware that was needed for the job.
It's almost exactly 1 mile from the foot of the commune of Menerbes. As others have mentioned, it's worth noting that 1) a smaller car is recommended, since the parking space is very tight; and 2) most of the road to the house is so narrow that there is no possible way more than one car can fit. Though other residences nearby were occupied, we were lucky that in four days, we never encountered another car coming toward us (if we *had*, someone would have needed to back up till they got to a driveway or turnoff, of which there were very few).
On back-to-back nights, we walked to the top of the village and sipped drinks on the patio outside of Chez Auzet while enjoying the view. If we ever go back, this is something we'd probably do every night. We also liked the food and the view from Bistrot le 5 at the foot of town.
Also, though I mentioned that other residences were occupied, there are *not* very many on this road, and the area *is* remote. That's not a negative, it's just something to be aware of: If you get at all creeped out by being in a secluded area, this is definitely secluded. You're basically in the middle of the woods.
Anyway, we would definitely stay here again. The house is absolutely lovely and Catherine and Corinne were both incredibly attentive and responsive to emails and phone correspondence. We thank them both for their hospitality!

Beautiful stone house on the hill top to enjoy Provence
We loved staying in this charming stone house, a nice walk to the lovely town of Ménerbes. Perfect spot to explore Provence during the day and then return to watch the sunsets over the mountains. Highly recommended.

Stunning, Peaceful, Charming, Perfect in an Unbeatable Location
This beautiful house exceeded our expectations. If I could give it more stars I would; it's more like a 7 out of 5. I feel lucky that we found it. First, the setting: It is beautifully situated in a lovely area just outside of Menerbes. It's a 2-mile (round-trip) loop to the village and back, past vineyards, olive trees, and breath-taking views. Menerbes itself is a beautiful upscale town that has the feel of being scrubbed clean each morning. It has a great boulangerie (with perfect baguettes and heavenly fig bread) and a convenient small epicerie, among other things.
The house itself is every bit as charming as the pictures indicate. The outside is gorgeous, from the charming iron gate at the entrance to the sun-drenched color palette and the red and pink flowers climbing the stone walls. Everything inside is done with care, thought, and very good taste. It is spacious, and the two rooms and bathrooms are perfect for four people. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom are especially spacious and lovely. Every window in the house looks out onto beauty and peace. Everything is very clean, and the linens are excellent quality. The kitchen is also efficient and well done. The pots, pans, knives, and other amenities (including the washer and dryer) were of very nice quality. We had trouble leaving the house because the outdoor table and sectional sofa off the top master bedroom were so wonderful! We ate in most nights so we could enjoy these features.
The host was very responsive and helpful. There was a helpful binder full of information, house rules, and local suggestions that answered every question we wanted to ask. You can tell this is a person who thinks of everything.
We thought it was well worth the price. We hope to be able to stay here again someday.

Beautiful Provence Home
Catherine's home is so beautiful and comfortable. My husband and I greatly appreciated the attention to detail and quality put into renovating this home. The exposed beams, beautiful flooring, and comfortable bedding gave it a cozy feel. We loved all the flowers around the property and the views from the terrace were gorgeous. La Maisonette truely captures the essenence of Provence and was exactly the type of home I wished to stay in for our family vacation. Thank you Catherine.

We want to go back ASAP!
To be honest, the only review on vrbo I have ever posted was a bad one because my experience was so terrible. With that said, I was very afraid to rent from a place on vrbo again, but I decided to give it one more chance. Thankfully I did!! This place was amazing. It is a nice, private location that is an easy 20-25 minute walk into town. The town was awesome with so much to do, you could literally live at the place for your whole stay and be happy. We ventured out a little to different wine towns which weren't far away at all, but I loved Menerbes so much I could've stayed there the whole week and I would've had a fantastic vacation. The place was in perfect condition. We cooked multiple meals, hung out on both patios, and just enjoyed the whole house. If I could move into this place tomorrow I would, I just wish I knew more french! Thankfully the town of Menerbes speaks very good English so you can easily get around and shop and dine. I have told every single one of my family members they should stay here if they ever decide to go to France, so I will tell you the same thing. You won't be disappointed.

A lovely property within 1.5k of Menerbes. Easy walk to town. Property is well appointed and rooms are very clean and spacious. Menerbes has everything you would expect, charm, views, friendly people. This area is a real joy to visit. Day trips are easy to Gordes, L'Isle sur la Sogue, Avignon, Pont du Gard.

La Maisonnette was everything I had hoped it would be, and more! Catherine was so helpful, and Corinne made the meeting and transfer go smoothly and perfectly. My only regret is that I could not stay longer! Menerbes is a beautiful village, perfectly located to reach all the wonderful villages and wineries Le Luberon is famous for. Merci beaucoup Catherine, I will be back.

Thank you Catherine for sharing this little piece of heaven with us! We spent a week at La Maisonnette - a delightful time in a beautiful little house with an awesome view. We were in France to celebrate our 20th anniversary and could not have asked for a better place on the planet to spend it.

We (my husband and I) spent 3 days at La Maisonette and loved it. After a week of cycling in Provence it was great to have a quiet house with amazing views to relax and spread out in. The house was beautifully decorated in Provençal style, very well equipped and the appliances (including washer and dryer) like new. The welcome was easy as we met in Menerbes and followed the host to the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the 25 minute walk to town. Master bedroom was beautiful. Second bedroom had a queen bed and the window was also the back door. Very nice ensuites for both bedrooms. We would definitely stay at la Maisonette again. Merci!

This cute and comfortable property is unlike any other vacation rental I have experienced -- and there have been quite a few. As has been said by other reviewers, it is truly an established home, lovingly cared for by an owner who appreciates quality, surrounds herself with it, and enjoys sharing it with like-minded guests. Its location is a bit more removed from Menerbes than anticipated, but the charm of its rural character and "oneness" with its quiet environs quickly came to be regarded as an advantage, the perfect counterpoint to long days of exploring neighboring villages and "must see" attractions in Provence.
Ours was a party of two couples. La Maisonette provided just the right balance of togetherness and privacy in its two bedrooms, each with full en suite bath, and its central common areas. As an avid cook, I was especially appreciative of the comprehensive inventory of first-quality kitchen equipment and serving dishes. Nothing abbreviated or cheap here. And when was the last time you found a top-of-the-line Rowenta iron and ironing board in a vacation rental?
Throughout the booking process and the actual stay, Catherine, the owner, was "present". No detail seemed unconsidered -- a reassuring factor when traveling unknown territory, as we were. There are only two minor items I can suggest that might improve the guests' stay: 1) a more comfortable sofa in the living room and 2) detailed maps of the immediate area with points of day-to-day practical interest like locations of grocery stores (including hours of operation and distance from house) and trash drops.
Thank you, Catherine, for a too-short but amazing stay in your wonderfully inviting home. I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who wants a taste of "living like a local" in a central and convenient Luberon location!

We spent five days at La Maisonette. It is a charming place, very true to the pictures. Only a short walk from the village of Menerbes and easy driving distance to the other perched villages in the Luberon. Highly recommend it!

Catherine has created a well-equipped, tranquil home where she has thought of many items for travelers that often are missing from other rentals. The rental is extremely well laid out for 2 couples or for a family of 4. The master bedroom is a floor above the main level and spacious with an ensuite bath with modern components that work extremely well. The second bedroom is in a private suite behind the modern kitchen (which showcases all modern up to date appliances and extras such as scissors, wine opener, assorted kitchen tools, pots, pans, coffee maker, hot water pot, lovely white dishes, regular and wine glasses, a knife box, bread board and many other thoughtful inclusions not found in other rentals. There is a counter with stools for a quick cup of tea, a breakfast, or for serving a buffet. )
The second bedroom suite includes two beds which can be separated if desired for sleeping purposes, a nice shower/ sink room with shelving, a stool for sitting in front of the sink which is topped with a mirror and a great light for applying make-up or shaving. There is a separate toilet room. The bedroom has a spacious closet and luggage racks, a chest, and a door to the outside.
The beds in both the master and the second bedroom are firm and the pillows plump and comfortable. All beds are dressed out in fresh and comfortable linen.
There is a great laundry room off the kitchen complete with modern washer and dryer and laundry detergent and cleaning materials and brooms.
The dining table is in a common room with a living, sitting area and s fireplace.
Outside under an arbor is a table and chairs for those fine days one finds in Provence.
In sum, this house is, in the best sense of the phrase truly a home away from home. There is even a drawer in the kitchen with plugs to accommodate various plug types for electrical appliances. But, don't forget, France has 220 volt current.
Catherine is an owner who wants her guests to be comfortable and happy. She is uniquely responsive and provides a 52 page guide to the house (which has Blu-Ray/DVDs player, TV, and Wi-Fi) and to restaurants, postal service, medical service, places to visit and distances, restaurants (including in surrounding towns), means of transportation methods, tourist offices in multiple cities, museums and art galleries, pottery shops, and gardens in the locality.
She has obviously spent much time to ensure her guests easy access to enjoy and learn about this area of Provence.

Menerbes is a terrific small hilltop village well situated in the heart of Provence.
We stayed 5 nights and could not have been more pleased with our choice.
The apartment was wonderful, and perfect for two couples. Well equipped, clean, great beds and charming.
Highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Provence
We did many day trips throughout the region. You will want a car to get around this wonderful area.

La Maisonette is in the outskirts of Menerbes, in a very quiet and beautiful location. The house has every comfort and lovely appointments. I warmly recommend the house and village as a specially good place to visit.
