About this apartment rental
Carmen is a 22 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She was an award-winning host within just 5 months of opening! To see why, check out the VIDEO of the suite, yard, patio, carport and views! And, you may want to check the reviews before reading further, they will convince you this is the perfect place for you.
Carmen is a resident of Alburqurque and is on site, unlike out-of-state hosts/investors.
Her home is in the fly zone -many days hot air balloons fly over or near by. You literally have a birds eye view of them and, the birds!
The large bedroom has a wall of views - hot air balloons, the Sandia mountains, the Rio Grande valley and the city - twinkling Hollywood views from your bed or patio!
The bed is super comfortable! After the views, it's the #1 thing guests comment on.
Getting around is super easy and fast. All the attractions are within 5 miles. US40 and Rt 66 are 1 mile away and US 25 is 3 miles. The airport and Amtrak are 6 miles away.
We have two fenced yards for your pets to explore - $20 non-refundable pet fee.

The views were beautiful! Every inch of the property shows Carmen's artistic talent! The neighborhood is safe and very quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

We were only here for a day, but we really enjoyed the stay. The apartment was quite nice and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed all the art on the wall, all of which was made by the host. We even bought one! The view from the backyard was beautiful. We met the host, who was very, very friendly. It was great having covered parking for the night. All in all, we really enjoyed our short stay.

We stayed here for six weeks. First of all, Albuquerque had the coldest winter. This did not dampen our stay. We took trips from Taos to White Sands and places in-between. New Mexico excelled in our expectations.
Of course our accommodations weren’t huge, but, let me tell you, the VIEWS out the “one way” windows were excellent. Spectacular views of the Sandia and Manzano
Mountains.
Our hostess was most accommodating.
Improvements in the guest room could include comfortable seating and newer sheets.
The shower is just right. The laundry room/ kitchen is fine.
The refrigerator fine. There is an air fryer and nice toaster oven and a Mr. Coffee.
We were a little taken back reading the reviews on Albuquerque and crime. I have to say we felt perfectly safe in this middle class neighborhood.
When we ventured out we made sure to lock our car and be aware of our surroundings. It is a look over your shoulder kind of a place but don’t let that stop you. Our trip was AMAZING!

Beautiful view, lovely patio area. Small but cozy. Worth it if you need a local cozy spot while you enjoy the rest of the city.

My sister in law and I went to ABQ to help my uncle, and the pictures of this beautiful place don’t do it justice! The views are spectacular! The place is immaculate and adorable with fantastic artwork! It was so peaceful and quiet. Carmen was very responsive to questions and helpful with local info. This is my new favorite place, and I can’t wait to go back!

I could make this a regular one night stay for when I’m in Albuquerque.

This property is in a neighborhood and was great for me traveling alone. It is close to Old Towne and other sites of interest so very convenient. I enjoyed sitting on the patio looking at the mountains. Carmen stopped by and made sure I was doing ok which was very nice.

Nice place. Gladly stay next time I’m in town.

This is a great place to stay in Albuquerque. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood. The house is very cute and clean; it has everything you need to stay for a few days- no stove with burners and oven, but there is a toaster oven and microwave for cooking. Also, there is covered, gated parking.
This house is located at the top of a ridge and is less than two miles from Old Town, close enough to major streets and highways to make getting around Albuquerque easy. It is also walking distance to a beautiful park with trails that go up and down the side of the mountain.
The best part about this house is its back patio with completely unobstructed views of the Rio Grande waterway and Albuquerque valley with the Sandia Mountains in the background- great place for morning coffee and/or evening wine!

The photos don’t do justice to the view of this place. You enter a private driveway, walk a small side of the house path, and then Nirvana, views for days.
Our hostess was absolutely lovely and warm, felt great to have her protection over us. Great spot to stay for a few days for a great getaway.
The space is efficient, clean, and the artwork is such a lovely touch. We felt very welcome and cozy.
Definitely recommend this spot, we will be back.

Amazing view!
Very comfortable.

The property is this very nice, low key, clean little guest room that has everything you need! Nice little kitchen with many appliances to use. Bathroom had a big shower. Very comfortable bed with tv and split unit AC. A view of the city looking east toward of the Sandia and Monzano mountains that is incredible. I have never been in this area of Albuquerque but it is a hidden gem! The city lights last night with the clouds was outstanding. The properties back patio and walking path overlooks the entire south valley from downtown to Isleta Pueblo.

Great property! Huge shower, nice kitchenette, fabulous views, and awesome host! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect for two and they allowed our small dog. Full size washer and dryer.

Everything was just right. Incredible view, easy access to any places of interest and well maintained. Was a wonderful stay. Absolutely would recommend for anyone.

The room was very well set up with all amenities of a home except a stove, but there is a microwave and toaster oven. The bed was comfortable with plenty of extra pillows and blankets, if needed. No odd requirements on the checkout list found in the handy pamphlet in the room & the owner was really easy to chat with. It's nice to stay at places owned by people who love dogs, so (dog owners) let's do our part to keep this as one of our options. =)
.
This property is close to great places to eat (Mariscos Altamar & Sals), gas, coffee, casinos, NM State Fairgrounds only 20 minutes away. I felt safe having my dog with me and the area was clean. Saturday night there was a loud music somewhere over the patio, but was likely a bar or something down there. It did not keep me up though. I got within 10' of a quail on the wall without knowing he was there and turned it time to watch him for a few seconds before he flew off to the lower yard.

This property had all that I need for a brieg stay vacay. Carmen was very responsive and allowed my dogs to have full access of the spacious backyard. Living in Abq, I wasn't sure what to expect with the neighborhood but was pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was. Views are beautiful and secured parking was a bonus.

Huge picture window wall looking over all of Albuquerque! Got to see hot air balloon 🎈 flying by. Private parking and great host made everything comfortable 👍 enjoyable experience 🌈✅

We took a road trip to pick up our son in AZ and stayed here a couple nights on our way. Cozy place, very good location. Great and attentive host. Enjoyed our stay!

This was the perfect stop on our cross-country trip. Beautiful view for us & the fenced, landscaped tiered-terrace gave our pup plenty of room to stretch his legs. Super clean & everything we needed for our overnight stay. Carmen was great & we would definitely stay here again.

This place was spotless and our host was so nice!

This was a great over night stay. The manager was super fast in response. Pretty close to all the restaurants and attractions. It was very comfortable and private. The day time and night time view amazing! The vrbo was very clean and had everything you need.
4.8
Really enjoyed the views! Hot air balloons flew right by us! Tried some great pubs and restaurants. We checked out the trails near Rio Grande and the Piedras Petroglyphs Monuments (very close to a residential area)
Perfect place if you don’t plan to cook a lot but there is a microwave and air fryer for warming/cooking if needed. And a refrigerator/freezer for food storage. Very cute, clean and colorful place, great city and Mountain View’s and comfy bed. Keep in mind, you’re connected to a main house, but they’re quiet and keep to themselves. Perfect place for my husband, me and our small dog! Thanks Carmen!

We had a lovely two night stay at Carmen’s place while visiting Albuquerque. Although the room is connected to the main part of the house where they live, it has its own entrance and still felt private. The views are great and Carmen is quite the talented artist!

This place gave us the creeps
Don’t know where to start so I’ll start at the beginning. We booked this property almost 4 months in advance. On February 6, 2022 we reserved and instant full payment was taken for this property. We also sent a long introduction of ourselves, to the host telling her about us. Red flag number one, there was NO response to our reservation or our introduction of ourselves to the host. No response for almost 4 months. Then a message with check-in information from the host, about seven days before checking in which would’ve been June 5, 2022. VRBO Recommends that host communicate with people within 24 hours. Another Red flag, all of the house rules that we encountered. House rules are fine but some of these cross the line into misrepresenting your listing. In her (host) only message to us before checking included please remove your shoes upon entering and place them on mat by the door. I thought maybe they just put down brand new carpeting. Not the case, when we walked in the floor is all tiled. So the fact that we had to take our shoes off and put back on about 50 times just bringing in our luggage didn’t make sense. It is listed as having a kitchenette.. so we thought great before arriving we picked up eggs to make the next morning for breakfast. Then we find out there is no stove or hot plate. So you cannot cook anything in a pan. I know it said there was a convection oven but also the word kitchenette leads you to think you might be able to cook some eggs. We had to throw our eggs out. Listed having Washer and dryer when you arrive you find out it’s by donation $. Also listed having Wi-Fi. We did not know only if you have 5G capability. Another red flag.. and this is a quote from her house rules” you are welcome to eat in your room. Afterwards please scrape the dishes and place the trash bag and dirty dishes in the basket under the coffee pot. Then just place the basket on your patio table and will dispose of the trash and we’ll wash your dishes for you!” This gave us the creeps, we thought of no reason for this other than bugs. What really gave us the creeps was sitting out on the patio.. the view is beautiful.. But not the view of the living room with a Old man in a lounge chair in shorts, watching TV and looking at us through large patio doors attached to this rental. Be aware you have no privacy on the patio. Also there were multiple locked doors that lead into our rental. Very very uncomfortable.!

We really enjoyed our stay. Host was there to greet and answer any questions. We took a drive to Sandia Crest it was beautiful. Our 6 year old Labradoodle enjoyed the yard and not having to be tied up. The morning we left we saw some balloons flying so it was cool to see
Thanks for letting us stay with you

Great stay
This is the spot! Beautiful view of the city and mountains from the back yard. Perfect location if you’re looking to go see the Petroglyphs. 10/10 will book again if we come back to town.

Wonderful property
We had a fantastic one night stay. The property is gorgeous and very comfortable. The view from the backyard overlookimg the city is gorgeous. Enjoy the sunrise and the sunset if you stay here!
The instructions from Carmen were great, so check in/out is very simple.
The only potential challenge for longer term stays is that the kitchenette does not have a sink. Nonetheless, Carmen offers to clean dishes.
Thank you Carmen for the wonderful stay!

This is a well-run VRBO that offers everything promised and more! The only negative is the mattress comfort, and this is because we are in our 70's probably. A coffee machine and free coffee to brew is a real plus! Emmie the resident Great Dane is a real sweetheart, too. A good, comfortable stay!

I had picked this home because all the reviews were wonderful. As soon as we opened the door there was an overwhelming smell of dog/cat urine and it was unacceptable. if you are going to allow pets then you should either have tile or some sort of vinyl flooring instead of carpeting. The pillows were made of some sort of plastic that "crunched" every time you moved your head. My husband sweated so bad from the pillow that he woke up with a rash on his face. We would have been better off sleeping in our vehicle. Needless to say, our 2 night stay turned into a oe night stay. We left in the morning and went to Gallup, NM where we got a hotel room for the second night that we were supposed to stay in Alburqueque.
