Quaint old style Florida home. Enjoy watching boats, birds and dolphins . Perfect spot for gorgeous sunsets. Close to shops and a few minutes from walking trails/preserve.

A very nice home to relax and fish, either off the dock in the back yard or at any of the nearby areas.

We very much enjoyed this property. Jeff was a super host and, though we did not need much from him, he was available, and gave us a lot of information about things to do and places to eat in the area. For us, the best thing about The Cut House was its location. We loved watching pelicans, dolphins and boats. Many afternoons we were there sitting on the boardwalk enjoying the wildlife and my husband did some fishing, as well. The home was built in 1954 and had some really interesting mid-century features. We had a lot of fun in the area as well. We spent nearly every day walking in the trails at Emerson Point. There are a variety of grocery stores close. Shopping in Ellenton just about five miles from The Cut House.

The Cut House was wonderful! We loved the location, it was easy to get to many places that were nearby including Sarasota and St. Pete. You cannot beat the view in the back yard! The owner Jeff was also great!! We really hope to go back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cut House. It's on a quiet dead end street with water surrounding the property. We have been looking for an "old school Florida house" for a while and have found it. If you're looking for a "beach cottage" this is it! It's convenient to shopping and gas stations that have ethonal free gas for your boat. The house is comfortable and open. The separate bedroom and bath were perfect for our teenage grandchildren. All of us enjoyed our stay and want to go back. Thank you Jeff and Hope for sharing this piece of paradise!

You cannot beat the view from the Cut House! My mom spent all of her time on the patio or dock watching the boats and enjoying the water view. You also can’t beat the character of the house. The Cut House is conveniently located near several beaches within a 15-30 minute drive. There are some amazing restaurants close by as well. Jeff was very helpful and checked in with us during our stay. Will be staying here again!

This was our second year staying at this property. The location is amazing and the house is very charming. The host is always available and promptly answers questions.

The location was awesome. The owner was great and very helpful with areas to catch bait and where to eat. He also gave us some fish.
The house was over all fine. It is an old Florida home and is not fancy at all so if you are looking for that then this isn’t it. However what we were looking for was a 3 bedroom and 2 bath together. The third bedroom is across the carport. I did not realize that until after I booked and read the reviews in detail. So then I thought ok not that big of a deal we are all adults but wished they explained that in the description. However, when we got there we found out the 2nd bathroom isn’t with the 3rd bedroom… it’a also separate and accessible from the carport. It was ok… a complete bathroom but it did have mosquitoes so we ended up not really using it after showering once with mosquitoes.
This house is at then of a dead end street which we felt was awesome. It’s almost zero traffic and pretty quiet. There is parking for a boat trailer and extra car or so which is wonderful.
There is a sea wall and dock that runs across the entire back. That’s nice if you bring a boat or want to fish off the dock. If you want to swim or even get in and out of a kayak/canoe then that could be difficult if tide is low. We didn’t see a ladder to help with that but maybe there is one available in storage not sure. Also swimming may not be a great idea as the current running through the cut seemed to be pretty strong. Definitely should be an experienced swimmer if you do.
We will probably return at some point because like I said the location is awesome. And we haven’t found anything perfect so all in all this was very close to being our “go to” spot.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cut House over Christmas. Lots of beautiful boats going by and a lovely backyard to sit and read or entertain. We did use their quirky 3rd bedroom/bath which is a separate building across carport for overnight guests. Owner gets back to yo quickly and offers solutions for questions.

The location was perfect. Far enough away from the hustle of daily life but close enough to get to beach quickly. The views from the home were amazing.

Very interesting house, a bit like stepping back to the 50’s/60’s. Spent most of our time in back watching the sun rise, sun sets, and boat movement through the cut. Very relaxing.

My family and I have stayed at many resorts and rentals in the Tampa bay area for weekend getaways. The Cut house is by far the most enjoyable stay we have had. The owner Jeff, is very helpful and responsive with any questions that you have.As soon as you walk in the home, you feel like you have been taken back to an era gone by. The pictures don't justify the roominess of the home. While the home is wonderful, the true appeal of the Cut house is the outdoor space. We were able to dock our boat on the huge dock. Spacious yard with enough room for the kids to play, and chase all the creatures. This stay was the first of many that we will be booking at the Cut house!

My wife and I just wanted a place to escape for a long weekend. Boaters would really like this place, but we don’t fit that bill. We just wanted a quiet place with a decent kitchen where we wouldn’t have to see anyone but each other. There’s a state park with some good running and hiking trials 1.5 miles away. There’s a gas grill on property. Bed was comfortable.
