About this cabin rental
The Great Escape II can comfortably accommodate up to seventeen guests. The spacious three-story lodge also has a kitchen and dining area that can host a small crowd, three covered decks so that everyone can enjoy the vibrant views and a game room that includes plenty of entertainment options for everyone.
The Great Escape II has five bedrooms—three upstairs, one on the main floor, and one downstairs—each of which has a luxurious king-size bed and a flat-panel TV. Three of the bedrooms have their own fireplace as well; as they warm up the room they’ll add a romantic glow to the luminous wood-planked walls and ceilings. What’s more, three of the bedrooms open directly onto a deck, so you can slip outside to catch the sunrise without waking up the others. There’s a full bathroom for each bedroom as well.
Additional guests can sleep in the living room and the game room: Each has a sofa that opens into a queen-size bed. And there’s a sleeping nook upstairs with a twin bunk bed that the kids will love.
Sleep might be the last thing on everyone’s mind, however, once you see the downstairs home theater and game room. Fifteen people can watch a movie on the home theater’s large screen, in comfortable cinema-style chairs. And the huge game room is chock-full of things to do: There’s a regulation-size pool table, a multi-game arcade, air hockey, pinball, a Golden Tee golf arcade game, and a large-screen flat-panel TV. You’ll never be bored at The Great Escape II! There’s even a pub table, should you prefer to play cards or simply enjoy a quiet chat with a friend.
One flight up is the main floor, home to yet another large flat-screen TV, as well as plenty of leather seating you’ll love sinking into. Even when you’re not watching TV—or warming yourself by the fireplace—the living room is an inviting spot to curl up with your laptop to surf the web or to get lost in a book.
Also on the main floor is the dining area, with a gleaming wood table that seats twelve people in handsome Windsor chairs. Another four people can tuck into their meal at the adjacent breakfast bar. On the other side of the bar is the roomy kitchen. Here you’ll find all the appliances, gadgets, cookware, and tableware you’ll need to feed the whole gang, along with plenty of counter space and elbow room.
Of course, you don’t come to the Smoky Mountains to spend all your time indoors, even if your cabin has all the amenities that The Great Escape II has. The lodge has more than 700 square feet of covered decks from which you can savor the fresh mountain breeze, the sight of the towering trees, and the singing of chickadees in the morning and whip-poor-wills at night. There are plenty of rockers where you can kick back with a book and a drink, as well as a deck swing: The kids will want to take turns on it throughout the day, while at night you and your special someone will relish the romance of swinging in the moonlight. The best seat of all, however, might be in the deck’s hot tub. Especially after a day spent hiking, skiing, or keeping up with the kids at Dollywood, the tub’s steamy jets of water will feel so rejuvenating.
Because The Great Escape II is located in the Gatlinburg Falls Resort, in the summer you’ll have free access to the outdoor pool. What’s more, the resort is close to everything the area has to offer. Downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Museum, thrill rides, an aquarium, shops, restaurants, and more, is only a few minutes away. So is the Great Smoky Mountains National, among numerous other attractions.
Whether you’re looking forward to being on the go or taking it easy, you’re certain to have a wonderful time at The Great Escape II. So book your stay today—after all, you deserve it!

This was a great place to stay and was located just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg.

Check in process was good. Communication with owner/management was difficult and they were slow to respond. Number given was for text only. Kitchen was infested with roaches. This needs to be addressed immediately. Kitchen was not well equipped. No pot holder, not enough silverware, knives were extremely dull, no baking pans, no potato peeler. You get the picture. Cabin was nice and layer out well. Older and well worn in places. The arcade games there are extremely old and the screen was difficult to see. Only 2 pool cues usable. There is no trash can outside so be prepared to haul your own garbage. The grill outside is mounted in the ground like a campground and it’s crooked. 🤷🏼♀️ I would not stay here again, and I would not recommend to anyone.

We really enjoyed the house. The game room and hot tub were fun for all ages. The movie theater did not work, but they were prompt in sending someone to try to fix it. Overall we had a great time and would return.

Friend Trip
We went on a friend trip and booked this lovely cabin! The owners of the property were great and helpful. The property itself wasn’t far from all the action and was super clean. We enjoyed our stay and when we return will be booking again!

Great cabin for couples' weekend away
The cabin was easily accessible and was in a great location close to grocery and package store. The open floorplan for the kitchen, dining and great room was perfect for our group of five couples. We spent a lot of time in that space and had much fun. The kitchen was very well stocked in every aspect. Also stocked well was toilet paper, dish detergent, towels, etc.
We had the same broken items on our visit that were mentioned in a review posted a few weeks before our stay.
When I contacted the property manager, the response was that they had not received a "work order" for those items. In my opinion, the review itself should have initiated a work
order. With that said, several windows in the main living area were stuck open (as had been mentioned in the previous review) and it was found upon investigation as to why it was so cold in the room. Two of our guests worked and were able to get the windows to close and secured them. I also asked if the projector was working (noted to be broken in the previous review) since our visit was over Super Bowl weekend. Here is your work order - the projector does not work! Also, the TV in the main downstairs area did not work because there was no remote and it's not the type that can be controlled without one. There is an opportunity to clean the windows and dust. The return vent has about 1/4 inch of dust overlay where the filter hasn't been changed timely - we didn't notice this until last day but it explained why so dusty. There is a significant coating of dust on the window blinds and furniture as well. This should also be a "work order" if not performed during regular cleaning/maintenance based on the information I'm sharing. There is such a beautiful view from the home and the windows were so dirty.
In the end, we would rent this home again. It was a great space for a large group who enjoys gathering for meals/drinks.

Overall the cabin was very nice. It does need some maintenance to make experience better.
The refrigerator wouldn't close, the theater room projector didn't work and there were no movies, the bedroom door was broken.

Space good, amenities bad
Negative: Hot tub, several of the fireplaces, and the theater room projector did not work. Very misleading of the perks. Downstairs sleeper sofa broke and disgusting, could not use.. Many windows are stuck open, could not get them to close. Property inside and out needs some TLC. Positive: the rooms are big, heat works great, plenty of hot water, roads were very well maintained, as we had a winter storm while we were there. Maintenance technician and property management company were helpful, friendly, and very professional.

It was a good experience. Was able to send in everything I needed easily

spring break
The property needs to have many updates. The washer dryer barely works and is not suitable for a large family. Refrigerator looked like it was super old and dented. No decent pots and pans. The golf game downstairs does not even turn on. There was no place to even take trash from the cabin. We were told down by the pool and there was no dumpster anywhere.

Great but!
We really enjoyed our stay, the location was excellent but a few complaint, the refrigerator wasn't working very well and the freezer wasn't working at all, we had to keep our frozen food in coolers with ice to keep it frozen and food in the refrigerator wasn't kept cold at at all. The hot tub temperature was way to hot. No matter what we set the temp to it was to hot to sit in.

It was a great experience, we saw a bear,a challenge getting from the resort to the main road, all in
Didn't have any problems renting. The shower curtains had mold on them should be changed. Omg the dining room chairs are horrible, they were sticking to our clothes.

Pros: Huge family table. Good sized bedrooms. Ok beds with clean sheets. Bathrooms good. AC worked well. Kids enjoyed a few videos we brought along, in the media room. Appreciated the main floor bedroom/bath for grandparents. Cons: No grassy area at all for kids to be out. Total blacktop area. But Most disappointed with kitchen items. 1st meal we went to set the table - plates especially were gross with dried food on them, including spaghetti noodles & meat sauce! Utensils not much better, nor glassware, cups etc. Ended up washing dishes each meal - dishwasher ran but door to release soap broken. When we left, their dishes never looked so clean! and our grandkids each had dish drying duty - just like camping! Would we book it again? Ahhhh. . .

Big & Spacious, but an Under-Stocked Kitchen & Neglected Maintenance.
When we arrived with our party of 16, ready to unpack and eat some dinner, we found the kitchen with just a handful of plates and glasses, a broken coffee pot, and only a few small sauce pans for cooking. The property management company was quick to respond to our needs, but their solution was to drop off boxes of new items for us to unpack, peel the stickers, wash, and get ready to use. We spent at least two hours of our vacation unpacking utensils and dishes for the kitchen.
The rest of the weekend, simple maintenance neglect left us with an overall frustrating stay. More than one smoke detector began beeping from low batteries. Bees had burrowed through the wall and were flying in the basement. The theater room was missing instructions and was difficult to actually use. A shower door was off it's tracks and fell off. All tolerable things, but also very easily avoidable if the owner maintained the property proactively.
We will not stay here again.

False advertising
No internet as advertised
Only a couple of channels on tv
No volume in theater
No amenities (soap, toilet paper) wrong sheets on bed that would not stay on, light bulb out in stairway, carpet turned feet and socks black. Advertised pinball machine but was not one there. Did not recieve help for issues when called in.

M/D Getaway
The property had spectacular views of the near by mountains. The house was perfect for our get way. However, the place did show signs of wear & tear. The kitchen was ill equipped for preparing in-house meals. The bathrooms had some mold on the sliding glass doors and there were signs of insect infestation. The dining table was not sufficient for the 13 occupants to be seated comfortably for the meals consumed in the house. The internet description suggested there was sufficient space for 17 people; however, I believe that would make the accommodations very cramped. The renting and check out were handled very efficiently which helped to make the experience one we will never forget. I would consider another rental at a future date. Thank you for providing a beautiful setting for our M/D Getaway.

Don’t leave any value at the cabin you can get stolen!
Some one, use the door code and enter in the house and stolen 1000,00 from my chest dower on the last night of our stay. We did the police report at the night that happened and we left early next morning. When we called the office to communicate and talk to the manager she say she didn’t know anything and ask us for time so she could find out who else had the code for the door. It’s been more than a week she never called us back. The experience we had at the G.S. II wasn’t good first we had problems to get in the house with our code so someone else over the phone gave us a new one, the water heater wasn’t warming up the water they get that fixed after three days we didn’t have more internet they said was gonna take more than three days to get fixed and the last night we got stolen. So a bad experience!!! Be careful don’t leave any value at the cabin or don’t leave your cabin alone.

Pretty nice place. Could definitely use some upgrades.
Overall nice place. However, one of the main reasons we chose this cabin was theater room. Poor quality TV that wouldn’t play blue-ray cds we brought. You can only watch cds, no cable service in theater. Very poor quality cookware and skillets for breakfast making. One mixing bowl only. We enjoyed the large kitchen table and plenty of parking for our cars.. Each bedroom has king bed and private bath. They could definitely use upgrades!l living area furniture is nice enough, but pretty worn. Very large decks with pretty views. Cabins are very close together and you have no privacy.

Old photos
The photos on line are from when the place was new. Could have done a better job cleaning. We found trash in the theater, popcorn bags, beer cans, Dixie cups, spilt stuff on the walls. Dirty dishes in the kitchen. Great location fairly close to everything we wanted to do.

Didn't work for our group!!!
May work for you if you are not going to stay long, and if you are not going to do much cooking. It may also work for you if you don't get the bedroom that has the shower that drips 24/7 and the ceiling fan sounds like its getting ready to fly off the pole at any time. Our the bedroom that the shower doors seem to be replaced or they soon will be falling off. Not to leave out the dust all over the place... We did call maintenance/housekeeping due to some of these issues. The really nice maintenance man come and fixed the ceiling fun but the fix only last a couple of hours. One of the beds had NO cover on it called the day of check-in and left a message, called back the next morning @8:45. Housekeeping came at 9:45 with the blanket/bedding. Sofa the living room VERY dated and uncomfortable. Stayed at this cabin 7 years ago and it was bad then and it has not been replaced. Speaking of replaced ALL the remaining POTS and PANS need to be replaced. May I also suggest getting large bowls and a good set of knives that cut. Updates to the bedding, mattresses ,sofa, and kitchen supply would make this a 5 star cabin. One more thing theater needs to be updated to HDMI. I did ask the 2 housekeeping ladies if they could give the place a good dusting before the next guest arrived, but they said they don't do the dusting. Invest in a vacuum that has extension to get in the high places and the dust on the plants in the kitchen is awful. Hope this helps the owner so this they will keep the property profitable. Not to seem to bad, thanks for the extra bath tissue.

Mostly Liked It
We were very thankful to stay at The Great Escape. For the most part, it was a very nice stay. Everyone had their own private space. The game room was very nice, and it was actually fun to play the arcade games, and many fun games of pool. The Appliances in the Kitchen worked, and the Hot Tub was nice. However, there are some minor criticisms. (1) The Kitchen is quite small to accommodate so many people. The property says it can sleep 17, but we only had 10, yet it was difficult to have more than one person in the kitchen at any time, and the Refrigerator certainly cannot provide enough room for that many for a week. (2) No dust pan. We had to regularly use a paper plate to sweep up any crumbs. (3) Could not find a book with instructions on how to work the Projector in the movie room. (4) Light at top of stairs leading to third floor was out. (5) Upstairs bedroom, top right above the dinning room has a fan that makes a horrible noise. Lamp in same room not working. (6) The fireplace in the upstairs bedroom on the left was not working. (7) There are no hot pads in the kitchen. (8) Although we were thankful to have a washer and dryer, it was very, very small and the doors to the washer and dryer do not stay closed. (9) No Trash Removal. Having to take the garbage down to the dumpsters each day was a bit of an inconvenience, especially since I was accosted by a bear one night. Thankfully, he was more interested in the garbage than me and I was quick enough to get behind my car. It was a good scare. (But, it provided a great conversation piece, and the rest of my family wanted to go down to the dumpsters each night at dusk to see if they could see any bears!) As I said, for the most part we enjoyed our stay, but these small problems were things we felt could have been noticed and corrected before our arrival. (Obviously, not the bear problem) Not wanting to be too negative, so we will end on a positive note. Thank you for letting us stay and for the view.

Beautiful property. Lots of room. Needs cleaning
I would stay here again & hope for a better cleaning service. The property was not properly cleaned or checked after the previous guest. I called the maintenance company & they sent some one out. The hot tub needed water, the shower door fell, trash was found, balconies were covered in dirt, and it needed a deep cleaning. Some of the beds should be replaced as well. Still had a wonderful trip. The home fit our large family.

Nice place to stay for a larger group
Overall the amenities were good. Very nice accommodations with plenty of room for 4 families. If I had one criticism, it would be the kitchenware for cooking. The pots, pans, and utensils were very cheap and made it a struggle cooking for our large group. Other than that, we had a very nice time.

Looks Can Be Deciving!
Place looks great. Has a lot of space. That's where it ends. The place was wiped clean but you can tell how dirty it really was. Counters with dried stuff on them. Water & beer bottles on balconies as well as on the ground around cabin. Dust cacked on things like I have never seen before! The dryer broke first night there and even after calling at 9am it wasn't even looked at till 11pm. Not to mention it was a small stackable unit and did not even spin the clothes dry. Lights burnt out. The silverware was dirty and the pots are almost not usable from dried food and falling apart. For the price of this place I was not impressed at all and neither was the rest of my family I brought up there after 9 adults had to clean for almost two hours after walking in the door upon arrival on first day. I would be embarrassed if the company I had taking care of my property worked like that.
