The only surprises we had in this lovely home were good ones. The beds were very comfortable, the internet was consistent and fast, the pool was reaching 86 Fahrenheit with the solar heating and the water was safe to drink.
Wel will go back again

An amazing villa with Mexican architecture set in a beautiful garden all meticulously kept. Spacious rooms and patios for all of us to gather and to be alone. We loved walking everywhere. It was a very relaxing and easy getaway. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, Very well appointed, and Immaculate! It fit all our needs plus. The location is perfect. The villa, the grounds, the pool, were all fabulous! If your considering Ajijic, this is a must stay place! Thank you to the host.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Casa Mimi. It accommodated all our needs, and was close by to lots of amenities.
The check in process at the property did not go that smoothly. We now know what to do in the future.
Having some instructions available regarding replenishing things like toilet paper and water along with information about garbage days, recycling, etc. would be helpful
We enjoyed our stay there, and hope to be doing it again next year

It’s a testament to the beauty of this city and to Rancho Del Oro that we made two trips here within a 4-month period. It is a true oasis; from the gorgeous gardens and to the relaxing pool and the several terraces to relax upon. The house itself is absolutely stunning. The details like the boveda ceilings and gorgeous brick cupola are spectacular architectural details. The kitchen is beautifully appointed with everything we needed. There’s a cute market within a 5 minute walk we frequented. Overall, an incredibly spacious and relaxing space. A glass of wine in the master jacuzzi at the end of the day is a must 😄
The views from the property of the lake and mountains is absolutely stunning. The staff is very helpful as well!
There are several amazing restaurants within walking distance (we were partial to the Blue Rose, Yves’, D’Shanti, and so many more.) The main square of Ajijic and the Malecon along the lake are a short walk or drive as well.
I can’t close without mentioning it all exists within one the world’s most perfect climates. Average of mid 70s high, low 60s in the evening. 365 days a year. We’re already planning our next trip and can’t wait to get back!

The Casa was more beautiful than the pictures represented.
It was a very relaxing and pleasant stay. The greenery and the birds and the fountain, provided a lush background.
I would only ask that there be more lounge chairs available in the pool area.
I couldn’t believe how fortunate we were to have found this Villa.

We just love Casa Mimi. Everything about it is great. We will definitely return again!

We loved the house and had a great time there. The house was beautiful and clean, inside and out (just as it looks in the pictures). The pool was big, so my sons really enjoyed swimming there. There were so many delicious restaurants in Ajijic, and everything was within 10 minutes or less (driving).

Beautiful property!
We had planned to arrive at the property at around 4 pm. However, due to complications with the airlines, we had to be rerouted and ended up arriving at Mimi’s place after midnight. We stayed in contact with Lalo throughout this ordeal (WhatsApp) and he was very responsive. Because of the late arrival, Lalo planned/gave us instructions to access the house as soon as we arrived, which was great! On our first morning, we walked through the house and the grounds. I want to say that the house and the grounds are beautiful! We noticed some upkeep needed around the pool area and the terraces, which we discussed with Lalo, and he immediately made arrangements to address the issues. Lalo explained that the upkeep needed was caused by the torrential rain the night before. Lalo stopped by the house to make sure we had everything we needed and to let us know that one of the TVs was damaged by the storm—needless to say, we did not have a need to watch TV during our entire stay. We were at Mimi’s place from Thursday to Thursday, and it was wonderful! Words do not give justice to the views from every angle, the peacefulness, the sounds of the birds in the morning – it was exquisite! The property accommodated our family of seven + an eight-month-old comfortably, and we felt at home! During the day, we walked to Ajijic and to the tianguis (Wednesday) and felt safe. Ajijic is a beautiful and friendly town; we loved it! A few suggestions:
1. Include the instructions in the User guide regarding the shower’s hot water (i.e., let the water run for 5-10 minutes)
2. If guests are arriving in the afternoon (depending on the time of the year/the hottest part of the day), open a few windows to allow the house to air out.
3. Ajijic is about 1.5 hrs drive by car to the center of Guadalajara or Tlaquepaque.
4. The third bedroom has a twin daybed with trundle, which is the equivalent of 2 twin beds.
5. The sofa in the office area is the pull-out full-size bed. This bed could use a new mattress. We used a thick comforter to add more cushion, which helped some.
6. For families traveling with an infant, it may be useful to have a portable crib or playpen to accommodate an infant at night.
Overall, the house was amazing, and our family made wonderful memories! Lalo, Monica, and the pool-keeper (we forget his name) were wonderful!
Thanks, Mimi, for checking on us via phone. Again, we are grateful to you and Dennis for allowing our family to stay in your beautiful home!

Week of tranquility
The house is very spacious with comfy furniture, lovely patios, and a variety of sitting areas where you can enjoy a book with the beautiful lake Chapala and mountains in the back ground. The kitchen is well designed and fun to prepare food in. The pool and garden areas are super pretty and relaxing!
The property manager was attentive, friendly and very helpful. Two suggestions: the larger bedroom downstairs would benefit from curtains for privacy, and the patio furniture by the pool is showing their age. Apart from that everything was super pleasant and we are looking forward to another stay.

Rancho Del Oro is a beautiful home with a great location and plenty of privacy. The pool and was just fabulous and views amazing. Exceedingly clean. Highly recommend.

Clean and well managed
City lost water for a few days but the property manager was able to get a water truck delivered the next day and 3 days later. Solar water heaters did not work well enough and propane water heater would not stay lit so we did not have hot water for the entire week. Everything else was very nice and the hot water should work most of the year.

Lovely Property
After an exhausting 34 hour travel experience we were really looking forward to checking in to our rental. The communication with the property manager was not the best and we waited on the street for several hours until a neighbor took pity on us and let us in to rest on their couch. We were finally able to contact the manage and were given the code to get in. The housekeeper that came the next day took the time to show us all the workings of the house and answer all our questions.
Once inside we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful garden and lovely patios. The house is expansive and beautifully decorated. The rooms have comfy beds and nice sheets. The bathrooms are large and filled with big fluffy towels.
We enjoyed our stay very much but feel as though the property manager could do a better job of maintaining the property. Checking on burned out lightbulbs, the cleanliness of the pool and filling up the drinking water. These are small things that all should have all been done before check-in, especially given the fact that we arrived a day and a half late. There really is no excuse for these things not being done in advance.
One more thing potential renters should know about is the deferred maintenance on the roof. It is causing extensive damage to the ceiling in one of the bedrooms and bathroom. It didn't bother me in the slightest but if you are sensitive to mold it is something to be aware of. On the whole this is a very nicely located beautiful hose to stay in and I would definitely rent again.

Magical Ajijic
This property is stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only issue we ran into was check-in. We arrived in town at 4 pm and did not get into the house until after 6 pm. That was a frustrating way to begin the trip, but it was all uphill from there. The house is amazing and clean as a whistle. We could spend all day out on the patio! We will definitely be back.

Loved it!
We had a fabulous time at Casa Mimi; the house and setting are spectacular, Eduardo and Monica were so helpful and kind, and Mimi herself called to check in on us after a bad storm. The house is situated perfectly for friends and family, lots of space to spread out and beautiful views from every turn. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful home
Instructions need to be updated. Wifi information was not for current modems or current passwords. Our reservation had been mistakenly canceled which we learned day before by contacting the Host. Thus roof repairs were scheduled which was ok but solar hot water heater was disconnected due to roof repair and so relied on hot water tanks and so ran out of hot water quickly.

I fell in love with this Villa, You will too.
It's a lovely property that is very well taken care of. I enjoyed walking around the garden and watching the sunrise. Thunderstorms take on a certain importance when in the master suite. I highly recommend it. I felt comfortable from the first day. Everything worked, and the keys and doors were easy to work out. Monica and Eduardo are there for you, and being close to Ajijic is a huge bonus. Huge.

Another lovely visit!
One again this year we enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Mimi’s lovely home! The gardens looked better than ever and the entire home was in beautiful shape! I think this marked our 7 th trip to Mimi’s and I can honestly say that we have never been disappointed with the experience. The only drawback this year was our early departure due to Covid 19. Hopefully all will be well in lovely Ajijic and we can look forward to our return next February and March!

Great place with all the ammenities!
We had a great time staying here for a week this past November. The place is great. We enjoyed everything from the spacious rooms and plentiful decks to the beautifully landscaped grounds and heated pool. The full sized kitchen was a definite plus as we did end up making several meals and happy hour snacks there. The location was perfect in order to absorb the local culture as well as nearby activities and all of that great food. The temperature was very enjoyable 76-80 all week. I would definitely consider going back. We even made a couple of friends!

another perfect visit!
We have been so lucky to spend February and March these past years at Mimi's lovely home. Her property is so well cared for that it is always freshly painted and upgraded when needed. It is perfectly located in a quiet part of town with a beautiful, very private garden and pool. Her manager Veronica does an amazing job staying on top of all the details and is always quick to respond to any concerns. We love going back each year and we are greeted as family by Mimi's wonderful staff! I cannot say enough good things about this amazing place. Five stars all the way! Thank you Mimi for sharing it with us! Sue and Dave

Lovely home in Ajijic with great views of Lake Chapala
.My husband and I spent 2 weeks in this beautiful house surrounded by lovely
gardens and with great views of Lake Chapala. It was only a 10-15 min.
walk to the centre of town and the Malecon (boardwalk) along the shore
of the lake and a short bus ride to the Walmart where we could shop for
groceries. The kitchen at the house was very well equipped and there was
a gas barbeque which we used often when we decided to eat in.
The house was furnished tastefully, the master bedroom large and comfortable and the shower provided constant hot water - sometimes
a problem in Mexico as we have discovered in the past.
The only 'con' I have is that there is no heating system in the house and
the mornings and evenings, especially in January when we were there were
very cold. There are 5 fireplaces in the house but apparently none of them
are in working order. It is no doubt not a problem later in the spring but
spending an evening at the house would be made much more comfortable
with the addition of a few heaters or converting the living room fireplace
to a gas one so that one could watch television without wearing a down
parka.
Just one more thing - the bed linens and copious fluffy towels were great
but the bed pillows could use an upgrade to perhaps the 'down alternative'
kind.
Although we never met her, Veronica the house manager, was extremely helpful with any questions we had and Juan, the gardener and his wife
were so sweet and took great care of the gardens. Monica, the maid,
did a great job keeping us organized and it was fun to practice our limited
Spanish with her.
Just a suggestion for giving information to newcomers who arrive late afternoon as we did - directions to a small grocery store where one can buy
basics for the following morning and recommendations for a restaurant within walking distance, both of which we discovered after a conversation with our taxi driver. Veronica's young stand-in was very sweet but
not very informative.
We would love to return to 34 Nazas and all that it has to offer but
perhaps in springtime.

Week in Paradice
The property was great, very clean, all the kitchen stuff u ever need, the pool was a tremendous bonus. The gardens were very well kept and the fruit trees were stupendous.
Overall our family had a great time at Rancho del Oro. Mimi the owner called a couple of times to make sure everything was ok.
We would definitely come back again next year.

This casa will exceed your expectations.
If you read all of the 100+ glowing reviews of Nazas #34 you know that every superlative imaginable has been used to describe the casa, the grounds, the staff and the owner. Well, this place deserves every bit of the praise. My wife and I stayed for a month and hated to leave. You will not be disappointed.

No hot water, no person to greet us and explain things
The house and grounds were fantastic. The ability to rent van for the week was a wonderful deal. The main problem was that there was no dependable hot water. Getting ready to go out to dinner (the restaurants were very, very good and inexpensive) and having to get ready in a cold shower was a problem. We were told there would be a person there to greet us and that never happened. The house keeper was to come twice a week but she came only one time. The gardener was there every day and he insured the grounds were in perfect condition. There was so much that was wonderful (the pool delightful) but the person who was to explain things to us never showed. That and no hot water was a huge problem. I would give the house, pool and yard an A+ and the issues mentioned above a grade of D-.

Another Perfect Vacation
After spending our 6th wonderful winter at Mimi's home I can only say that it just gets better! As I have said in past reviews, Mimi is always improving and maintaining this lovely property! (This year the wifi and TV service were greatly enhanced and the stone walkways were streamlined and extra stairs were removed.) It is such a quiet and peaceful garden and yet close enough to great restaurants and to downtown Ajijic. Life is always relaxing here and any concerns, big or small are always immediately resolved by Mimi's wonderful manager Veronica, who cares for this home as if it were her own! Visiting this beautiful spot is the highlight of our year! We look forward to coming back in 2019!
Thank you from Sue and Dave

Another wonderful stay in Ajijic
Loved our two weeks in this beautiful home. As return guests, we appreciated the upgrades made to the lighting and loved the new bannister leading to the master bedroom. Thank you Mimi for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.

Extraordinary! We will be back!
Words can't do justice to describe this Casa! As a world traveler, I must say this was by far one of the best vacations. My only regret is that it was too short! Casa Rio Nazas #34 is ideally located in Ajijic with incredible views from every room. We enjoyed the garden with its' many fruit trees and singing birds. The local staff are wonderful - Veronica, the property manager was extremely helpful in responding to questions and giving us a lay of the land. Juan, the gardener is a delight and does an excellent job of maintaining the gardens (not to mention, he is a great teacher as well!). As foodies, we loved the kitchen where we prepared many meals and then enjoyed eating on the various terraces. This is a slice of heaven on earth! Highly recommend! Mimi - thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We will be back. Muchas Gracias, Nancy

Paradise in Ajijic!
Words cannot describe adequately enough how wonderful this villa is. Charming, relaxing, flora-fabulous, high end, fully appointed... We felt like we were staying in a 5 star resort that we had all to ourselves. Thank you Mimi for sharing your beautiful home and the ability to experience Lakeside and all it's wonders!

Heaven!
Mimi's Ajijic home is absolutely stunning! This is our third visit and again no regrets. We invited two friends to stay with us who also very much enjoyed their stay. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The property is very spacious, nicely decorated, and has a lovely garden/pool area. Lots of songbirds !
Through Veronica, Mimi's property manager, we hired a cook (Consuelo) to prepare our breakfasts and a driver (Dago) to take us to Herradura Tequila (Amatitan) for a private tour and to Zapopan for a late lunch at one of my favorite restaurants .
Truly we had a great time relaxing and enjoying Mimi's home!
Many thanks Mimi!!!

Beautiful property and views in a great location!
The house is truly beautiful, large and tastefully furnished. It was perfect for us to have what are essentially two master suites. The various terraces were perfect for beginning and ending your days. There are mosquitoes, but they didn't seem to bother us. The birds and foliage were great to enjoy. We all slept comfortably except for a couple of nights dogs barked way too much. Veronica was very helpful arranging transportation to and from the airport in Guadalajara which is on average a 45" drive. We were a little surprised by the traffic from Guadalajara coming into Ajijic on Sat. and leaving on Ajijic on Sunday! We enjoyed the house, the scenery, the weather and the people! Thank you for sharing your home, Mimi!

Absolutely fabulous!
My wife and I just returned from an 8 day stay at Casa Mimi. The pictures cannot even describe this wonderful house. As soon as we walked through the front door our stress level seemed to dropped to zero. We knew right then it was going to be a great vacation. Through the week we caught ourselves looking at each other in amazement at how beautiful, calm and peaceful it was here. The grounds were kept immaculate every day by Juan and his wife Rachael. Monika, the housekeeper, kept the house spotless. The pool was also maintained. Many thanks to Veronica and Antonio for all their help too!
We brought some blowup air floats with us.They proved to be a great addition for added reading and relaxing while in the pool.
Ajijic is a magical little town! We rented a car from Mimi and went to breakfast and dinner a few times. We also enjoyed just being at the house and cooked a few meals there as well. There is a Walmart a few miles away so we made a few trips to stock up on things.
I could go on and on but, This place is a must stay place!!
We loved it! We will for sure be back!
Thank you Mimi and your staff for a fabulous 30th Wedding Anniversary Celebration!

This was our second visit to Mimi's beautiful villa. Our group ranged in ages from 21 to 78, everyone loved the house and Ajijic. The gardens continues to be spectacular, the house is spacious and very clean. We love the gourmet kitchen. With all the amazing food in the markets, we cooked delicious meals almost every night. I would recommend this rental to anyone who wants a peaceful Mexican holiday.
