About this apartment rental
Our condo has just been BEAUTIFUllY RENOVATED with all new living room furniture and rugs, new washer and dryer, upgraded flow-thru hot water system, new linens, and new paint throughout.
To give guests peace of mind with the corona virus, our condo is self check in and out - no in person meeting required. All linens are both cleaned and disinfected following CDC guidelines. All hard surfaces are sanitized prior to check in, including doorknobs, remote controls, etc. All staff have reviewed and are following all CDC recommendations and guidelines.
Our condo is right on the Beach - nothing between you and a million-dollar view but 2 palm trees and about 40 feet of sugar white sand. Picture yourself enjoying breakfast on the veranda with this fantastic view of the Caribbean Sea bursting over the near-by reef. This is the ideal place for your next vacation. Our cathedral ceiling Condo offers everything you might wish for - Complete, fully equipped Kitchen with new, granite counter tops, Master Bedroom with Queen Bed and new, rattan furniture, Full Bathroom downstairs, plus our totally relaxing Sleeping loft with two twin beds and it's own half bath for privacy. Condo includes Central Air Conditioning, Free WiFI, new Washer and Drier, comfortable chairs to curl up in with your favorite book. Being high up on the third floor, we have a wonderful view, and a continuous sea breeze wafting through the condo, which we control by opening or closing the sliders in the bedroom (We have never had to turn on the A/C in 15 years). All condos at Sugar beach are NON SMOKING.
We have decided to go organic, so have bought new organic sheets for all of the beds, and are now providing Paya organic bath amenities (shampoo, conditioner, soaps, and lotion) made with organic papaya, sweet orange and lavender.
We now have a two person kayak for the exclusive use of our guests, located on the kayak rack near the beach. Ours has a 313 on the hull. We also provide snorkeling equipment for our guests enjoyment.
Why not consider a two bedroom condo renting for the price of a one bedroom.
The Sugar Beach Resort includes a Free Form Pool in front of an antique sugar mill, 500 foot long sandy Beach, free, lighted tennis courts for the energetic, the use of a computer in the Club Room, free parking, a local bus line that stops right at the resort, and 2 great water-front restaurants, one at either end of the beach.
We are only one and a half miles from Christiansted, the capital of St. Croix. It was built by the Danish in the 1700's, using yellow brick that was brought over from Denmark as ballast in the sailing ships, which would return with Cruzan rum and molasses. It still maintains much of it old charm, including the old fort, weighing house and counting house. The sidewalks are arcaded to shelter from the tropical sun, which adds to the quaintness of the town. Enjoy the board walk along the harbor, marvel at the variety of boats at anchor, and partake of the numerous restaurants and watering holes along the way. Christiansted is noted for its variety of small boutique shops, featuring local, hand crafted jewelry and gifts.
An automobile is certainly a convenience when exploring the island, and we would recommend renting one for at least part of you stay, but we know of many friends who get along just fine with taxis or the local, inexpensive bus system, stopping directly at the resort. However, this bus system, like so many things on the island, is somewhat erratic.

The condo was the most well-stocked we've ever stayed in. Communication was excellent with all check-in procedures shared well in advance. We enjoyed the beach at the condo but also were able to enjoy 5-6 others on the island. You can be anywhere on the island within 30 minutes. This was the "off-season" so we had almost every beach to ourselves. We spent some time at the large, clean, nice pool which we also had to ourselves. The owners and condo hosts shared ideas on what to do and where to visit and eat. We even met a few full-time residents who were very friendly and informative. We would definitely stay again.

We visited here in the middle of our week trip to the islands. The condo was accurately described in the listing. We did not take advantage of the kayaks because we were off doing other stuff, but we did swim in the pool and the kids (17f & 19m) hung out with some other youngsters they met on the beach for a bit. My husband spent much of the evenings just sitting on the balcony watching the water - most likely reflecting back to his time he spent at his grandparents' condo when he was a small child.
The kids liked having separate beds in the loft that also had a 1/2 bath. Meaning that the four of us weren't always queuing up for one toilet.
Having access to a washer was helpful for our trip as we only traveled with carry on luggage.
The hostess helped get us settled in and had incredibly useful suggestions on where to eat and visit while we were on the island. My daughter at one point asked if she could meet the hostess because she sounded like such a sweet person. I was grateful for the advice that was offered.
I would for sure stay here again. I do hope we get to visit again one day. St. Croix was my favorite island of the three we visited.

The condo is beautiful and well laid out. The view is amazing. I love staying at sugarbeach.
The snorkeling is amazing. The owners are amazing and very easy to communicate with. Thank you

Love this condo and location. Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We loved being able to wake up to the water right outside.

Clean and nice view from 3rd floor condo. Sugar beach was pretty secluded and residents were always friendly and helpful. Location was good and only a short drive to Christiansted. Property owner was quick to respond and address issues.
Condo is listed as two bedrooms but most of our trip we couldn’t use the loft. The roof was leaking overtop one of the twin beds so that had to be addressed on night one. It was too hot up there to sleep without AC or fan going constantly. Power cut off multiple times a day. One day it was out for almost 6 hours. We ended up going out more than we intended bc of it. No flashlights or batteries until a few days into the trip. Thankfully we had cell phones with lights and rented a car so we were able to charge our phones. Bedroom fan sounded like it was going to fall out of the ceiling. Property manager said it needed to be removed and reinstalled.
While on vacation I want the luxury of electricity. I will be staying at a place with a generator next time.

The condo delivered as advertised: Great beach views, calm waters, and living accommodations to support a family of 4.
Owners Richard and Megan provided island and VRBO rental information early which helped make our vacation a dream. Any questions and/or concerns were addressed immediately. The residents we met at the pool and beach were friendly.
I would suggest renting a car to allow you to travel to both ends of the Island.
I look forward to returning to St Croix and staying at Sugar Beach Condo.

Steps away from beautiful beach, convenient to everything and quiet. This is just minutes from Christian stead and sights and dining. Everything is included in the condo you need. Not a fancy place but perfectly functional.

My family , including a 13 and 11 year old loved our stay at 313. It was perfect , clean, comfortable, right on the beach , great pool. We hope to come back soon

Gorgeous views, good accommodations with some very minor exceptions. Overall, condo had everything we needed, and hosts were quick to respond to questions before our trip (no issues/questions arise during our stay that required communication). Much appreciated were the available beach towels and boogie boards. Also available, though we did not use, was snorkeling equipment, kayak, and sand toys. We found the mattress to be hard but all other accommodations were very comfortable. Slightly concerning was our inability to lock the sliding doors to the balcony and in the bedroom but we never felt unsafe. Loved sitting on the balcony each night and listening to the waves. Definitely found a car necessary and glad we had one. Beach is fantastic and well maintained. Very minor beach complaint (no fault of owners or condo complex) regarding horse training/racing that occurred twice during our stay, which was worrisome for our 5-year-old who was playing in the surf. Riders appeared local and came down to beach from condo property to the east. The other owners we encountered at the pool (which was great, too!) and on the beach were incredibly friendly and offered helpful advice. Our son loved the complex cats, who were very sweet and sociable. Restaurant at the complex to the west was unfortunately closed during our stay, but we ate at Le Cuisinier, to the west, and had an incredible meal. Overall, a fantastic stay and we’d highly recommend to others!

I truly enjoyed my stay. Wanted to vaca to kick off my birthday month to just sit back and relax and enjoy the beaches. View from patio is more amazing than this pic depicts it. Absolutely had a wonderful time.
4.7
Love the stay at remtal condo i was able to fish, kayak and swim in the beach with my family without worring about rip currents, The location of sugar beach was over seeing the reef. Which make it convenient no rip tide pulling you out to the sea unlike the rest of the beaches on the island which is open ocean and rocky.

This was a great place to stay. It wasn't fancy, but it had everything we needed. It was nicely decorated and was a comfortable place. Everything worked well, (the AC needed to put out more cool air,) but all-in-all, this was a great place and I would stay there again. The pool was fabulous, and the beach was so nice and so well taken care of by the complex caretakers. Love the stray complex cat that was there again on this visit!

Very clean, easy access and right on the beach as well as a large pool.

We celebrated our official retirement by booking Dick's and Jane's condo for a 2nd time. The oceanfront location and sunrises just can't be beat. There is nowhere else we would consider staying. We never used the A/C this time either, just opened both sliders and propped open the front door.
The bathroom has been upgraded, new indoor / outdoor furniture and granite countertops. The kitchen has everything that you could possibly need. We really appreciate that there is a washer & dryer in the condo. It's nice to come home with clean clothes in your luggage.
Enjoyed the pool one evening, very refreshing and we were the only people there.
We didn't use the kayak or snorkeling gear, but it's nice to know it was there if we chose to.
This trip we went to Cramer Park (east side), nice beach with shade trees, calm water, swan with sting rays and turtles. Not a lot of people. We also took the short boat ride to Protestant Cay. Recommend renting chairs and an umbrella there.
We ate dinner at Common Cents in Christiansted and had a wonderful, fresh Mahi fish and chips dinner, reasonably priced.
Alisha, the property manager was very helpful and prompt to respond.
Thank you Dick & Jane,
Jim and Sharon

Was our first time to St. Croix. After our week there we really liked the location of the property. 5 minutes from downtown Christiansted. We wanted to stay away from the cruise ships and people, and this spot didn’t disappoint. Plenty of chairs and shade on the beach. The condo had all the amenities we needed, and our two girls loved the loft. Never had to use the AC with the breeze coming through. We would definitely stay here again. Proactive manager helped us with all our questions, and provided suggestions for things to do, places to see and eat.

First, the owners and the concierge (if needed) are fantastic.
We received multiple messages with tips and ideas for our trip and it made everything go super smoothly and we felt very at ease with the procedure of utilizing the rental property.
The location of this condo was fantastic. You are about 6-7 minutes away from downtown Christiansted, which has many great shops, restaurants, and excursion departures. You're also centrally located on the island itself, about 25-30 minutes from either end, both of which offer great things to do.
We absolutely loved the pool area and we did two family dinners at the grill. There is also a clubhouse with a full kitchen if you need it.
The unit itself was perfect for our family of 4. The kids loved the lofted bedroom and having a bathroom up there was very helpful. We couldn't ask for more in regards to the setup of the unit. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens I've ever experienced in a VRBO property.
The beach is pretty nice, but not necessarily the greatest. The "sand" is a bit rocky and you need to get about 20' out from the beach to get to smoother ground under the water. What's really nice though is there is a reef a few hundred yards out and this really helps keep the waters calm. The kids loved playing in the water. The biggest issue was the seaweed that came in. The condo association has a company that comes and cleans it up, but they just couldn't keep up with it a few of the days. This is a known issue in the entire Caribbean right now, so I wouldn't hold it against this property.
Bottom line, if you are traveling with friends and/or family, I can't recommend this place highly enough. The location is great, the pool complex is fantastic, and the beach was a great hangout spot when we weren't exploring all of the other great beaches on the island.
Thank you hosts for providing our family a great place to stay during our wonderful vacation.

We had the most wonderful experience here. We had no issues besides forgetting We actually had to leave! We hope to be back to this centrally located piece of heaven
4.7
we had no hot water for the first five days. Manager contacted plumber but in the end we had cold showers. Owner did give us a small refund.
Islands don’t have many skilled contractors.
4.7
Property was excellent! Location was perfect and the view of the ocean was amazing!
4.7
Great location and easy to get into town and excursions throughout the islands. Owner and property manager were very helpful in providing information when asked about things to do and if any other needs were requested.
4.7
Could not ask for better communication. The property owners and on island management will leave no stone un-turned to make your experience awesome.

Loved our visit to St. Croix! The condo complex is right on the beach and the maintenance people sweep up the sea weed and rake the shells so the beach is nice to walk on. If swimming on any of the beaches, I would bring water shoes. Since the beaches are natural they have lots of dead brain coral, huge shells, etc that can cut your feet. If you like shell hunting this is the place to be. The view is amazing from the room and of course from a lounge chair on the beach. Chairs were alsways available durong our stay. The pool was a large free form shape and deserted while we were there. We had a great time swimming here one day. The water temp for pool and ocean was great. The condo was very well equipped for cooking. Had brand new living room furniture and rugs for our stay and a brand new blender. The only issues you might have are if you need someone to stay upstairs. The A/C unit is not upstairs. You can bring the fan up there and use that or put it in the living room to push the air upstairs. We might have been able to use the window method, but my husband hurt his back coming there and he slept up there. The other thing is the internet. If you need to do business, you probably need to go to a coffee shop or somewhere. We had Verizon which is not a preferred carrier there. Satellite TV was in and out and no streaming was available for Netflix, etc. for our stay (might work other times). No worries for us as we can do this back home. Did go to see a movie and it was a great theater with very reasonable prices. Bedrooms are well appointed and they have some snorkle equipment with fins that are adjustable. Neighbors are very friendly in the complex as well as the whole island. Don't miss snorkeling at the Fredericksted pier. Breakfast at Polly's there was great, also. Christiansted had brunch at Caroline's, also very nice. Some days you can ride on a small boat to the island resort. Though we didn't do it, seemed like a fun activity. Went to Buck Island with Llewellyn tours, but the water was too rough to get in the water due to the Christmas winds. Still enjoyed the sail! Worth a drive to East End. Topography is much like St. John's there. Lovely views. You can drive to Point Udall look out at the very end of the island. We rented a small compact with whimpy tires and shocks. Would get heavier duty tires if doing again. Island has lots of pot wholes! Just part of the experience. 😁

The condo wasn't very clean..cobwebs,dirty floors and shower. This is our 2nd time staying at this property definitely different than our first trip. The beach and the warm weather will keep us coming back...but at a different VRBO.
4.7
This property is centrally located near Christiansted and is located right on sugar beach. The owner was excellent communicating instructions for our stay, as well as recommended sights, restaurants, etc. The upstairs loft area with two twin beds was perfect for my daughter and her friend.
4.7
The location was perfect. Central to everything. We enjoyed exploring the island.
4.7
Perfect location, very close to Christiansted and about 30 minutes to Fredricksted side of the island. Unit was clean and had everything we needed for cooking, doing laundry and gear for our adventures. The bed was very comfortable and that's a big plus when your away from home. Great property, pool area was clean and there were a lot of amenities. Say "Hi"to R.C.(the resident outside cat) when you get there. He's adorable and super friendly! We did not use the loft area, as there was only 2 of us, but it would have been great for an extra couple or 2 kids. Alicia was great, she communicated with us throughout the trip for any reason, even if you have questions about places to eat. Totally appreciate her feedback. Dick & Jane, thank you again for sharing your little slice of paradise with us. Can't wait to come back.

Wonderful resort right on the beach. Loved the size of the resort and the pool area. Great location, but a car is advised versus walking. The condo was very nice and the ocean breeze refreshing. The hosts were very information. Unfortunately I had to leave half way through my stay, but I would return again in the future.

We had a great week in St Croix and enjoyed our stay at the condo. The location on Sugar Beach is perfect for lounging close to home, doing some snorkeling and trips out in the kayak. It's also an easy drive into Christiansted. The condo was comfortable and had everything we needed, but it could use some updating. We had an issue with the A/C but the property manager and owner were immediately attentive. We would definitely go back.

I have stayed in over 10 properties in St Croix and here is my good/bad: Good:
1- Location ( Sugar Beach is centrally located) 2- Cleanliness ( unit was very clean and relatively updated) 3- Value ( price was good compared to other units) 4- Canoe ( the use of the canoe was a huge plus) Bad: 1- Loft ( this is a 1 bedroom with a loft and it gets hot at night). We were a family of 4 with 2 adult boys and they had a hard time sleeping . This would be great for 2 people as the breeze in the main level was amazing. 2- WIFI ( this unit only has a Hot Spot and the signal is weak). This is only an issue if you need wifi for work like we did otherwise its suppose to be vacation. 3- Supplies ( there was no toilet paper or dishwashing liquid). Not a huge deal as we bought stuff at the local market but most other units have these things available.

It is right on the beach. 10-30 mini tees from other awesome beaches, bars, restaurants.
Great experience!

The view from the deck is breathtaking. The beach is so nice and the restaurant next door is very good. We got a good description of where to find the key and got in without any problems. Also some good advice on what to see and more info was found in the apartment. It was a 25 minutes walk from Christiansted and 10 minutes to a nice supermarket. The apartment is just like on the pictures, the kitchen is well equipped, but the fridge was not clean, we had to remove crumbs and egg shelves. Unfortunately the internet is very poor, but I think that it not unusual on this Island. The pool area was nice and everybody in and around the building were really friendly and helpful

We had a wonderful stay.
