About this house rental
This is a unique little guest room detached from main house which is our other listing. At approximately 140 square feet this room is cozy, but comfortably set up for an overnight or two (or more depending on your needs). Queen sized bed, TV with wifi to stream music or movies, microwave, fridge, coffee and tea set up . Bluetooth speaker in guest unit for your use. This unit has a half bathroom (NO SHOWER OR TUB). If guests need access to shower or laundry, we may be able to arrange this if the main house is available. There is also a laundromat/shower facility a few blocks from downtown for $5. Small covered patio out the front door offers beautiful views of open space to the east and views of discovery ski hill to the south. New fire pit area and privacy fence added this fall. Many unique touches to the room including fold down desk and reclaimed wood. This unit can be rented with our other listing (Philipsburg Hilltop Getaway) for a discounted price ($45/night vs $55/night) .
We recognize that many of you may have little ones. The cottage is small but there is room for a pack and play or sleeping pad on the floor (we have both, just ask). Please feel free to inquire if you are travelling with a child and we will do our best to host you (just know it might be a bit tight).
Please note: cottage is accessed off of alley and attached to the garage behind the main house.
This is a pet free rental due to size and to keep rental and cleaning costs down. Rental is small, so if you need to store gear, bikes or extra belongings during your stay, just ask and we can get you access to the garage.
WINTER CAUTION: Please note Philipsburg roads are not the best. This unit is accessed via a slightly uphill dirt alley. We will do our best to have alley plowed and sanded. If alley is icy or difficult to navigate, we have an alternate parking spot in front of main house on Sutter. Just park as far to left of front of main house facing the fence (so house guests still have room for 1-2 cars). Fence slides open offering a walking path to the cottage. Cottage is attached to east side of garage. Open gate to access covered area off cottage. You will need to walk through the yard (about 80 feet) if you park out front. Also, for safety reasons, please use shovel and ice melt (provided) around cottage as needed during your stay. Thank you! And sorry about the inconvenience.

My husband and I were in Philipsburg for the night over the weekend. This rental was a great location for the event and an easy walk downtown if you don't mind a little incline. The neighborhood was very quiet. It would be nice to take advantage of the outside space for a longer trip. We'd stay again!

The property was so cute, and was conveniently located to all attractions in the town. It was very affordable and perfect for our one night stay.

My granddaughter and I went to Philipsburg for sapphire mining. I found this cute little cottage for way cheaper than a hotel room. It’s small and quaint. Great for us. Connie was very straight forward about the size of the space. She included great directions. Always responded when I had a question. It was so peaceful. Exactly what I expected.

Cute little space with a super comfy bed. We enjoyed the view and the town of Philipsburg. No a/c, but lots of fans!

Property was set up nicely for a simple no frills limited amenities place. Listing said so but still a shower would be a nice addition, just make bathroom bigger by building into garage. Add a screen door to keep bugs out fresh air in. Only issue was VRBO details - property access, WiFi information was old information. I had to find the email communication from property owner to get update on secured access & WiFi information. All in all cute and close to town and beautiful views.

The cabin was very nice. It had a great location & view.

Loved the quiet peaceful setting but just a couple blocks from the charming town.
Connie Thought of everything, even
OFF MOSQUITO SPRAY plus Citro guard candle to keep mosquitoes away outside, thank you!
Fire pit and stargazing was unforgettable. I even watched a shooting star or meteor with a red and blue tail for several seconds! Would love to stay there again.
PS Excellent friendly communication throughout the entire process of booking the cabin to directions to find it and unlock the door.

Was in town for a curling tournament. Rental was very cozy, clean and had everything I needed. It isn't real big inside. Would have been fun to have a fire outside if I had time. I got by without a shower, but the instructions said accomodations could be made.
I would recommend to others.

We booked for one night and I accidentally picked the day after I had intended. The Host contacted me and corrected my mistake and was ready to host us. It is a small space but perfect for 2! Please note: the listing says no shower. There is a sink and toilet. Not a problem for us, but some people may not be comfortable with this. We loved exploring the town-shopping, dining and mining sapphires! Would stay here again.

Perfect size for one, cozy and comfortable, nicely decorated, aka not too fussy. Welcome details like coffee and creamer in the fridge, info notebook with everything you need to know about the place, SUPER comfy bed and bedding. Even feet away from the main hoise, it feels very private. Connie was quick to respond to questions.
Note: if you have a hard time walking uphill (or in the winter), be aware it is a little steep coming back from town on foot.

The cottage is cute and clean, we were there for a short overnight stay, it was really hot outdoors, we would have enjoyed air conditioning, but the fan helped. We would use this property again.

Host never gave us access to the place and we couldn't contact them. Ended up having to go back home and our weekend plans were completely ruined!

Better than I expected. Was staying for 2 days and had everything I needed. Nice quaint place just a hill decent/climb from downtown. Didn’t get a chance to use the firepit, but was cool that it was there. Owner was very good at letting me know things and attentive. Would definitely stay again!

Propert as advertised and met our needs for a stay in the heart of Philipsburg. Enjoyed access to streaming channels and deer outside the unit in the morning.

Not sure we will come back.
We were told there was creamer and coffee. However we did not find the French press as stated in the guest book. I also felt I was misled not realizing there was no shower. Everything was quite dusty including cobwebs on the wall.

Quaint and convenient
We loved this little cottage. It's super basic, but exactly as represented. If you're looking for something with a shower/bath, you might want to grab something else. BUT, this was darling and exactly what we expected.
Close to downtown and easy to get in and out. Would definitely stay again.
