This property was beyond remote. The drive there was on unpaved roads with switchbacks and potholes with no lighting at all. The home itself was ok but poor lighting, no garbage pail. Overall disappointing

This is our second time staying at this location. We really enjoy it and it works well for our family. Cabin was clean and after spending a full day at the lake its a perfect place to come "home" too. The only thing I will say is it would be nice to have a little more comfortable furniture on the outdoor deck. Also a more inviting dining table outside. Alot of the outdoor furniture could use a good refreshing

The house was almost perfect. The view was beautiful and the privacy was nice. The water smelled so bad (rotten eggs) we left a little early. There were cobwebs all over and mouse poop was in the dresser drawers in the master bedroom. The pool table is broken and the keurig is ancient. Aside from that, it was very nice. The 90’s decor and vhs tapes gave it a vintage vibe, which we liked. I would recommend this rental after a deep cleaning and water treatment.

Our Experience
We spoke with Sandra about our concerns with cleanliness and having the home unoccupied for a long period. She was very accepting of our feedback. She said she planned to address our issues and we decided not to publish our concerns. We did want to let people know that the road into the house is about a mile and a half. That seems short until you try to travel the road. We had to drive so slow that it took us 10 minutes to get to the house on the VERY rough road. We had a bike rack on the back that bounced around on the pot holes and caused our car to dint in. It will need a professional to get the problem fixed so that it is smooth again. Drive very slow to prevent any damage to your vehicle.
Sandra's part of the road is ok but steep. We did need our all-wheel drive.
This house is great for someone wanting to get away and not travel off-site. It is secluded and quite.

Great get away
We stayed for the weekend over our daughter’s graduation. It was great to have a weekend disconnected from the world and focus on each other. Even though it rained all weekend and we didn’t get to enjoy Raystown, it was a great trip and place.

Nice and remote
Six of us had a nice weekend riding trails in Raystown. About 10 minutes from the trailhead and boat launch. Nice and remote place. Nice to hang on the deck with no one around. Bear in mind there is no Wi-Fi and no cell reception.

Peaceful and cozy
We loved our stay here. It was rainy so the pool table was a plus! Kitchen very well equipped. The views? Amazing!
The cabin was sparkly clean… except for some trace that a mouse was there at some point, I guess it is expected when you are in the wild.
We really enjoyed our stay and will love to be back.

It’s a cool little property, very customized with a great outdoor deck. Clearly owned by a handy person. Just desperately needs WiFi.

Beautiful scenery
The location of the cabin was perfect for what we were wanting. We didn’t have plans to venture out much, other than to see Raystown Lake, which was 5 minutes away. Even though it’s so close to a campground, it felt very secluded and was quiet and peaceful.
The driveway was a little challenging, and we felt it should probably have been mentioned in the listing or in the email communications. We have an SUV, and spun tires all the way up, on dry ground. We had family visiting for dinner, and they all had the same issue. We definitely would never stay here in the winter! The view from the cabin may have made up for the tricky driveway though. Absolutely beautiful!
The inside of the cabin was a tad musty smelling, and could use a better cleaning. Lots of bugs…both dead and alive, and cob webs. Since there wasn’t a pool or hot tub, the kids were looking forward to sitting in the jetted tub, but changed their mind when they saw all the spiders in it. We realize it’s a mountain cabin and not a 5 star hotel, but we’ve stayed in a lot of cabins…a few cleaner, a few a little more “rustic”. It’s hard to know what they’ll be like just by the pictures. We’ve been to ones that we chose to not stay in once we arrived because they were so bad. This one wasn’t that bad. I think we were just expecting it to be cleaner, since we were told we couldn’t check in an hour early because the cleaning lady needed the full 5 hours to clean between the previous guests checking out and our checkin time.
We have a family of 5, and ran out of paper towels and toilet paper being there for 2 nights. Usually rentals have that stuff stocked somewhere, but we had to go to a local store to get more. We were aware that we had to bring our own linens, so that wasn’t an issue for us.
Some of the rugs could use non-slip grips underneath. We had to pick the rugs up because we kept slipping on them, and our 2 yr old actually ended up breaking his finger. Luckily it wasn’t a more serious injury, since there’s no phone service or WiFi. I suggest writing down the key code before you get there. Since we had no internet access we had to call the property manager to get our key code when we got there. It took a few tries to get the call to go through.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The craftsmanship of the cabin was really cool. Layout a little confusing at first, and trying to figure out light switches was quite comical! The woodwork is beautiful though, and loved the bird feeder.

Awesome experience
My brothers and I rented this cabin for an extended weekend getaway. It was awesome from start to finish. The cabin was immaculate. You can see the owners really take care of this property. Perfect location. Close to Huntingdon and a number of boat launches. The pool table was a lot of fun. We loved it. Will definitely be back.

Secluded on the mountain, aptly named mountain rendezvous
Nice property, secluded in the woods. Had some heating issues first night, but then it was fine as it may have taken longer to heat through electric. One bathroom is a bit of hassle, other than that enjoyed our stay

Great Stay
The stay was amazing and the view from the side porch was amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. She was very prompt in her responses when I messaged her. Only thing I would say was the person who cleaned left crumbs on the dining table, didn’t fully sweep nor clean the bathroom fully so we did. But other than that it wasn’t anything that was a big deal that we didn’t handle. It was extremely peaceful and serene and just what we were looking for. Thanks again for letting us stay at the mountain rendezvous. God bless!

Great cabin!
The cabin was great! Beautiful scenery and there weren't any other cabins or neighbors that you could see. Quiet and just very relaxing. You do have to walk down to the fire pit but that didn't bother us. Cabin was cute and clean. Would definitely return!

Hidden gem! We loved it overall. Cell service was really limited for AT&T—-one bar only if on porch swing:) it didn’t bother anyone but my teenager 😂

In the Mountain but Close to Lake
The cabin was nice, clean and fit our needs (4 adults). Secluded but yet only a short drive to the Lake, 15-20 minutes to Rideout & Hawn's Overlooks. Well worth the drive for sure! We used the gas grill for two dinners; it worked well and was located conveniently to the kitchen. Plenty of hot water for showers though not a whole lot of pressure. The bathroom could be updated. The shower doors should be replaced as they came out of the track several times and, ultimately, we couldn't get one of them back in. Thank goodness it was on our last night. We did notify the caretaker so she could address this prior to the next guests' arrival. A second bathroom, even just a powder room, would be handy. Kitchen was very well stocked, even a wok! A/Cs worked well. We ran the living room unit for our entire stay and it never failed to cool. Well lit exterior which is nice if you arrive late. Might suggest some improvements to the path down to the fire pit. A railing all the way down and more actual steps would help. Too bad the fire pit can't be up closer to the cabin. Overall we were happy with the cabin and will recommend it to others. We enjoyed our stay!

Amazing property!
Six of us moms went for a weekend getaway. The property was amazing! The pictures online at great, but do the place no justice. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you should need. The owner is great with responding to any questions, almost immediately.
Fire pit area is beautiful. Just don’t forget your firewood.
