About this house rental
Bright and Sunny Oceanfront home. Steps from the beach. Amazing 180 degree ocean views. Our house is a 2 story home situated on a bluff overlooking the island of Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket and Vineyard Sounds. The Town of Falmouth celebrates July 4th with a huge fireworks display which takes place on a floating barge directly in front of our house. The famous' Falmouth Road Race' which attracts runners from around the world can be viewed right from our front yard.
The house has 6 bedrooms, 2 full kitchens, 2 bathrooms each with tub/shower, 2 living rooms, 2 dining areas, balcony, glassed-in sun porch, and patio. We purchased this house over 30 years ago precisely because it had been configured so that it could be used either as a normal 2 story house, albeit with 2 kitchens or as 2 joined but separate fully equipped living areas ( houses) . This of course permitted our immediate family to reside on one level and our in-laws and/or family friends to use the other level simultaneously. The togetherness was and is great but so was and is the ability to retreat to your private space. There is a Washer/Dryer and included on each level is a dishwasher, high speed internet, microwave, and cable television. There is also a patio with a BBQ grill and an outdoor hot and cold water shower for removing all that sand and salt from the beach. The property has the most amazing direct ocean and beach views from almost every room in the house. Parking is available for 4 -5 cars. Steps away from beach-side dining and pubs. 2 minute walk to beach, 3 minute walk from Falmouth Harbor, 3 minute walk from Falmouth Yacht Club. The Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard is just a short 5 minute walk. Bicycle rentals, several parks, baseball park, and basketball court are all located nearby. Short jaunt from Falmouth village center and all of the restaurants, shops and bars. This location is unsurpassed as far as views and proximity to everything needed for an outstanding and truly memorable summer vacation.

We had a great week, lots of laughs, perfect location, walk to beach, island queen, dinner. Beautiful sunsets. Very happy with our trip. Peter was very easy to communicate with.

The location is superb. We enjoyed the very short walk to the beach and had a spectacular view of July 4th fireworks over Falmouth Heights Beach from the 2nd floor deck. Unfortunately, the house is in desperate need of updates inside. The carpeting, beds, and furniture are very old and need to be updated. The appliances in the kitchens have been updated, however, there is limited counter space in the kitchens. Thankfully, there are two kitchens and two living rooms (one set upstairs and one set downstairs), which is very convenient for multiple families. The host was very responsive to our inquiries and very helpful.

Absolutely amazing stay! The house is a classic New Englander cape house, with plenty of room for the 11 of us that stayed there (the two kitchens, two TVs, and lots of outside seating was room enough to stay together or take breaks apart). It's hard to beat the ocean views, but the best part was really the location. You can leave the car behind and walk to within minutes: the beach, Holiday Cycles (to rent bikes and ride to Woods Hole), the Island Queen (to ferry to Martha's Vineyard), Church (St. Thomas Chapel), Black Dog Cafe (for morning coffee, if you don't want to make it yourself upstairs or downstairs in the house), restaurants like Shipwrecked or The Wharf (if you don't want to cook or grill for yourself). Everyone should be able to manage stairs (lots of steps and stairs in the house, which was built in 1912) if you want to get the most out of it (my 84yr old mom is spry but we were nervous when she went up and down to the 2nd floor porch). The beds were comfortable, the internet was flawless, and the hot water worked with everyone constantly showering (the outdoor shower was perfect for beach cleaning). The homeowner was so easy and pleasant to work with. Everyone in the family gave it 5 stars - one of the best family vacation rental yet!

Great location for a large family gathering.
The location can’t be beat, and the house is comfortable for all any size family. It has all amenities needed for an enjoyable stay. Clean and comfortable! Beautiful ocean views and a short walk to the beach. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful week! The views from the property are just amazing. The house had everything we needed. Walk to the beach (no waiting in line or beach sticker), harbor and two great restaurants.

We had a fabulous stay at the house. Everyone found an ideal place for privacy, and the common areas were great for gathering. The house was clean and had plenty of kitchenware. Of course, no review of this house is complete without mentioning the amazing views it affords from several different areas, including a screened porch, upstairs living room and side decks. We did end up appreciating the couple of extra small fans we brought from home, but a/c in the bedrooms was great! This property suited our family vacation needs perfectly!

Great Beach Vacation
Although the house is older and could use a few minor upgrades - like more ceiling fans - the terrific ocean view from the porches and the 5-minute walk to Falmouth Heights Beach make it a great family vacation location.

Family Vacation 2022
The property was definitely as described. We had a wonderful week with our entire family celebrating my husband's 60th Birthday. The views of the ocean from the upstairs porch were mesmerizing especially when the moon was full and reflecting off the water. The short walk to the beach was not bad at all....... about 0.2 mile walk. The beach was nice and not too crowded. The property owner, Peter, is awesome and very responsive. When I first booked this trip in the fall of 2021, he reached out to me and we had a nice conversation about the house. During our stay in the house, we had an issue with a leak in the refrigerator water line, which was addressed promptly when we called the Management Company. Peter subsequently reached out to me via email and a personal phone call to follow up on this issue to make sure all was working. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun Cape get away. We will definitely considering going back again!

Beautiful home at The Heights
We searched for quite some time to find the perfect location in Falmouth for our family reunion, can't say enough about this property and the hospitality of the owners. Not only was the location amazing (view, proximity to beach, Main Street, restaurants, parks, etc.), the house had absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, easy, and feeling like we were all at home. Clean and well-stocked, plenty of room for everyone, with great shared spaces throughout the house so no one ever felt like they couldn't find a quiet spot to hang out and enjoy summer at the Cape. The owners were accommodating and responsive, and went the extra mile to make sure our vacation was everything we hoped. Thanks for such a memorable stay, hope to return in 2022!

A Vacation for the Books!
This home was everything it advertised and more. The home was large enough to comfortably fit my entire family and my brother's family as well. The location was perfect with the beach and the ferry in walking distance. We enjoyed our morning walks along the ocean The view of the ocean so beautiful from the deck and porches. Added bonus was my daughter's proposal at sunset on the beach! Peter was the perfect host with information prior to arrival and following up after our stay. Highly recommend!

My family had a really fun trip and stayed here down the street from our extended families down the street. We enjoyed the cozy and spacious home with amazing views and such beautiful weather here. Wonderful place
We recently had our family reunion and this rental was perfect for two families. It was like having two separate houses in one- lots of space and privacy. It was a great location and the views of the ocean were spectacular. I would recommend it.

Close to beach, great for families
Our family of 10 stayed here a couple of weeks ago. The house was very clean and as pictured. The week we were there was in the 80's all week but SO humid! It would have been miserable without the window unit air conditioners, but I would recommend another unit for the downstairs living room and the addition of another fan for the downstairs twin bedroom, as these spaces got really hot. There were times that we all retreated to our bedrooms just to recoup from the heat and humidity! There was more than enough space to spread out, and if you're travelling with two families and want your own space, this one is a good choice -- you'll be in the house together but only feel together as much as you choose. This was a bit of a drawback sometimes too... It's in a great location - just a couple minutes walk from Falmouth Heights beach. The beach itself is a bit rocky at the waterline, but once you get 10 feet out into the water there's a nice sandy bottom. The British Beer Company nearby had great food, and you're a short drive from all the fun shops and restaurants in the center of Falmouth (Cupcake Charlie's, Ben and Bills, Simply DiVine Pizza, and the Pickle Jar were all fantastic!). If I were to suggest some improvements - replace the miniblinds with light-blocking window shades/coverings, so those who don't like to be up with the dawn can sleep in.

Great house, great location!
My family and I stayed here with another family. Having every amenity on both floors was awesome. We could have our privacy when we needed it and it allowed us spend time together when we wanted to. The top deck was great for early morning coffee and the bottom side deck was spectacular in the evenings. It took us the entire week to sit in every area of the house. You also could not pick a better location for the fireworks on the 4th.

Need a 6th Star to rate this property!
If there were more than five stars... I'd use them!
Had a wonderful time at this property. If you have a large family and are looking for an Upper Cape vacation destination, stop right now and book this property! My wife and I stayed here with our adult children and our grandchildren. It's a great Falmouth Heights location with wonderful views and super-close beach access. Everyone enjoyed the beach and we even found some great shells and sea glass after a storm.
The house has all the amenities of home and plenty of space for everyone to spread out. With two kitchens and an outdoor grill, we had ample opportunity for everyone to enjoy the meals of their choice. The outdoor patio area is very comfortable for grilling/dining. The two upstairs decks provide great getaways where you can enjoy sun or shade, along with great views. We had the grandkids sleep downstairs and the adults used the upstairs dining/living room area for evening games and conversation.
Very convenient walk to the Ocean Queen ferry which takes you Martha's Vineyard. On the rainy days, we took the grandkids to Woods Hole Aquarium and the Cape Cod Children's Museum. Both were only short drives away. In the evening, our kids enjoyed a short Uber ride to downtown Falmouth to take in some night life while we watched the grandkids. Honestly, this is a great location with easy access to everything. Book it, you'll enjoy it!
Many thanks Peter and Lillette! We'll certainly stay here again!

Excellent
Our stay at This home was lovely. The views from the upper level
Living area and porch are incredible. This home has lots of space for a big group inside and also a nice patio area for outdoor dining.
Absolutely loved watching the town of Falmouth Fourth of July fireworks that are set off from a barge in the Vineyard Sound which is directly across the street. If you rent this spot, you will not be disappointed!

Great spot for large family vacation
Our family just spent this past week at this spacious and accommodating home with a beautiful view of the ocean. The home was close to the beach, restaraunts, shining sea bike trail, Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard and the downtown shops. This home is a great place for a family vacation

Lovely home overlooking the ocean
Absolutely lovely. We had 2 families and the house was more than enough to accommodate us all.
My favorite part of the home was the small porch overlooking the ocean- best spot for coffee in the morning!
Beds were comfy and the kitchens were well equipped.
We biked the entire Shining Sea Bikeway- what a great ride!

Fantastic for family vacation!
We had a wonderful vacation here and would definitely come back if we have the chance! The house is well appointed and comfortable with 180 degree water views. The owner was responsive and helpful. The description/pictures on VRBO and the other review are accurate and reliable. We cooked a few meals on the barbecue which turned out great and were very happy that there was a thermometer reading on the bbq lid...........helping us cook to perfection, and also an extra propane tank, which was very thoughtful of the owners. The queen beds (two of the bedrooms) had very deep new mattresses which were really comfortable. We brought all of our own bedding and towels, but were surprised to find that each bed already had a mattress pad on it and there were lots of standard pillows we could have used. Each bedroom had a room air conditioner unit, which we used at night. It was nice to know that two small washers and dryers were available, though we only made use of the dryers to dry up the towels as we packed up to leave. The WiFi was nice to have, once we figured out how to turn it on. We didn't spend time watching TV, as the magnificent views of the Sound kept us entertained!
We were happy with the short walk to the Falmouth Heights Beach. We also drove to Old Silver Beach for variety and wind surfing..........and remembered why walking to the beach is so great after being hit up for $20 for parking, and learning that public parking is difficult to find, as many of the lots at beaches are for residents only. Having never been to Cape Cod (as adults) before, we were pleasantly surprised to find the town of Falmouth and its Main Street so quaint, with nice restaurants and shops. Also happy to find the Windfall Market, a short drive away, was a very nice grocery store with everything we could want including prepared foods/salads, good produce (the corn was fantastic) and general items. Our kids (in their 20s) and my husband and I all thought it was a perfect place for our family vacation!

Great Location
1st time renter from VRBO and I couldn't be happier. We rented this property for family vacation(4 generations) and it was perfect for us. The property sits right across the street from the water with spectacular views of Nantucket Sound and Martha's Vineyard. It is just a very short walk to the beach, the ferry to Martha's Vineyard , and 2 restauraunts. The owner was very helpful answering my questions. We had a minor problem with a blown fuse. We called the property manager and they were right out to fix it.
We went with my elderly parents and they loved the sunporch overlooking the Sound.
This is truly a beautiful spot which I would love to visit again someday.
