Snuggled on the shore of Caribou lake, this home is surrounded by water on two sides with over 500 ft. of lakeshore. The house combines stunning Scandinavian design with cozy touches to make you feel at home in the woods. The property features a detached sauna house, dock, canoe, kayak, deck, screen porch, and a long sweeping driveway. Located in Lutsen, MN- a short drive from the ski hill and 20 minutes from Grand Marais. The house has heated floors, vaulted ceilings, and sweeping window views from all sides.
This home has comfortable beds and three walk-in showers. It features natural stone, and North woods art from local artists, along with soaring hand-finished columns of cedar, fir, and pine that make the house feel like part of the forest. The floor to ceiling windows (over 75 in all) bring the outside in and showcase the natural beauty of the North Shore. We share the spot with a playful fox, a pair of loons, and other wonderful species of native wildlife. In the summer, the property is scattered with wildflowers and lupine as well as raspberries, blueberries, and thimble berries. We are located on a bend in the lake: paddle left to tour the quiet bay, cattails, and a beaver dam; right will take you out to the largest portions of Caribou lake. A perfect escape for a weekend away or a special occasion.

Our family could not have found a more lovely, peaceful lake home to spend time together . From the moment we walked in we were blown away by the beautiful, clean, sunny spaces filled with so much attention to detail. We had everything we needed and more to cook our meals together, sauna daily , play games, enjoy the trees and lake views , canoe , swim, sauna and simply be together in our favorite Lutsen area of the Northshore. It was so convenient to our visit to Grand Marais, local winery and bike path for runs. The screen porch was a hit with our grandchild and each night we read books out there together . Cheryl & Ann were amazing with communication and so kind . We so appreciate them sharing their home with us. We will be back!

We love staying at the Ann’s cabin. Very peaceful and beautiful. Kitchen has everything you need. Very clean with great beds and linens. Special touch when arriving and having local products provided.

Lots of events took place this weekend while we stayed at the light lake house in Lutsen! My boyfriend and I got engaged, were able to celebrate as a family, share meals, plays games, etc! Come Saturday to go skiing, my fiancé ended up breaking his collarbone on a black diamond at Lutsen mountain. A trip for the books to say the least! We were happy with our stay at this property. It worked well for my family of eight plus four-legged friends. Highly recommend!

This property is STUNNING. I could have stayed a month! Cleanliness was *impeccable*, amenities were amazing, coziness was off the charts! I would go back any time of the year. Kitchen is exceptionally stocked and super fun to cook in with the island, fireplace is in the center of the room adding ambiance to the whole place. The house is suitable for two families with a small ktichenette in the lower level. We had a blast playing ping pong too! 10 out of 10 stars!

This was our third time staying at this property, and once again, it was perfect! Beautiful home in an idyllic setting. The home is spacious and updated. Kitchen is stocked with anything you could need. The sauna felt wonderful after coming back from snowshoeing. We loved it!

Our family came to stay for a long weekend. We spent a couple days skiing together at Lutsen and this was a perfect place to stay. The home is beautiful, clean, cozy, and well appointed. The hosts are fabulous and gave us some great suggestions for what to do in the area. Highly suggest and can’t wait to go back!!

Loved the property! The house was beautiful and full of light! The sunsets were amazing. Fika coffee was about 5 minutes away on 61. Having a great coffee shop in the middle of wilderness is hitting the jackpot when you’re from Chicago!! many attractions are located a short distance from the property. Only negative, the docks were pulled (we visited week of oct 23, so understandable) so fishing was a bit challenging, but we were able to figure it out! We enjoyed our stay and will look forward to visiting again. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It was the perfect space four our girlfriend getaway providing space to be all together but also spread out throughout the house and on the lakefront property. The bedrooms give you a sense that you are almost sleeping in the forest because of the large windows. The bathrooms were also a major highlight with our group. Anne and Cheryl are amazing hosts providing information about the home and suggestions about what to do in the area. We would highly recommend this home.

Lovely light filled home with tremendous views AND water access. Dad loved walking out to the dock countless times during the day to cast a line. We paddled and enjoy the scenery, had great access to SHT spur trail with amazing views and enjoyed so many wonderful activities right from the home base of this cabin. So much to do! The stars are bright and the cabin is fully equipped - sauna, bonfire pit and attention to detail to help keep furry friends happy too. Thank you fo the dog towels and outdoor bowls! I truly ant say enough great things about this wonderful space. Thank you for sharing it with us.

This light-filled cabin was even better than I could have imagined. It is GORGEOUS and has everything that you could possibly want in a property. Everything was sparkling clean. The beds were very comfortable. The woods and lake were peaceful and beautiful. It has table tennis, which kept everyone busy indoors, and a sauna for chilly days. There was great communication from the property manager, who made the entire process feel very easy. Bonus - there is a charger for your electric vehicle!

Beautiful lake front property with a lot of amenities and things to do for entire family. The location strikes the balance by being secluded enough to feel like you are living by yourself in a beautiful part of the country but close enough to visit nearby day trip destinations.

Best place to relax
Beautiful home and beautiful property! Very private and relaxing. The sauna was wonderful and looking out on the lake was just the kind of vacation we needed. Owners were very easy to communicate with and provided lots of information before we arrived. We will be returning!

Idyllic home on Caribou Lake
This property is first rate! A beautiful and private setting, perfect for cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, stargazing, or just relaxing by the fire on a wintry day. Property owners were extremely welcoming and readily available to answer questions. Wish we could have given 10 stars - that's how great it is!

Winter Getaway
My fiance and I had a wonderful stay in the North Woods. Check-in was smooth and easy. The lake house was clean and just as pictured. Communication from Ann was superb. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again in the summer.

Snowshoeing weekend
This was our second time renting this property for a winter getaway on the north shore. The home is beautiful and spacious with a fully stocked kitchen. It is close to our favorite snowshoeing trails. The hosts responded quickly to any questions we had. We had a fantastic time!

Family Holiday Ski Trip
Location was great for getting to Lutsen Ski Hill. The the sauna was perfect after skiing all day. Kitchen was well equipped for making family meals. The large chair in front of the amazing fireplace never sat empty and even my teenage kids took turns snuggling with me.
Ping Pong was the game of choice when we weren’t watching football.
Bathrooms were beautiful as was the whole house. Loved the light airiness. Plus it was CLEAN (which is sometimes not the case in a place that allows dogs).
Overall my family was so glad to return to this house vs the other ski in/outs.

Fantastic Family Fun
Our family of 6 (2 parents and 4 children 18+) loved this gem! We enjoyed spending time together, playing games, taking in the surrounding areas and eating meals sitting down as a family (a rare treat these days!). Would definitely stay again and we are going to try to stay there in the summer to experience another season!

Amazing! Highly suggest
The house was gorgeous, as was the location on Caribou Lake. The host was very sweet and their communication was outstanding. They went above and beyond in welcoming our family. I would highly suggest this property for those looking for a relaxing getaway on the North Shore. You will not be disappointed. Near many of the local attractions, yet tucked in to feel private and off the grid.

We are so very grateful to have stayed at this picture perfect home. The memories we leave with are so precious to us!! Ann was an absolutely perfect host!! Great communication and area recommendations. She treated us like her family!!The home itself is magnificent with beautiful views from every room, making you feel that you are living outdoors. The amazing sunrise and sunsets. The brilliant stars at night reflecting on the water! Magic! Our family was so comfortable there with plenty of space. A great fully stocked kitchen. Grills, both gas and charcoal. A HUGE lower level living area that gave our oldest son, wife and newborn baby privacy. Our sons enjoyed the sauna and chatting on the screened in porch. There is a huge floating platform for your use on this beautiful, clear lake. The canoe was also a huge hit!! The deck, the dock, the fire pit! Fantastic! I could go on and on!There is so much exploring to do in this area, but honestly, we just enjoyed being at the property.Our family has traveled extensively and I can tell you this is perhaps the most memorable place we have ever stayed!! Highly recommend!! We hope to make going there a tradition for our family! Thank you Ann!!!
