About this cottage rental
This casita is located on a quiet one block dead end street just three blocks from the Plaza. It has a living / dining room combination. The dining table seats four and looks out at the rear courtyard garden. The living room area has a loveseat sofa sleeper with all bedding available. Good gel foam mattress. There is a wood burning kiva fireplace in the corner of the living room. Fragrant cedar firewood is provided for guests. Screened operable windows throughout the casita provide nice ventilation in summer. Each of the three exterior doors are screened. The living room and bedroom have ceiling fans. Enjoy a mountain view from the front living room window and a garden view from the dining area. The well equipped kitchen has everything you might need for meals at home. The tiled counter tops are just plain fun! The full bathroom with tub/shower combination is also newly tiled and well equipped. There is a queen bedroom with good reading lights, dresser and closet space with robes provided. This casita has total privacy since it is surrounded by a tall stucco wall. The courtyard is landscaped with in ground plants and also big ceramic pots with seasonal color. Large trees shade this area nicely in the summer and the shade structure provides long season outdoor living. The patio has table and chairs and a BBQ. There is also a cushioned bench under an elm tree for relaxing. A large number of my whimsical recycled garden art pieces are displayed throughout the courtyard. As with all my properties Casa Verde is dog friendly and when the front gate is closed your dog has a nice outdoor space. I provide dog sheets for sofa and bed as well as mutt mitts for clean up. I do charge $10 per dog per night which may be left behind at departure.
Casa Verde is part of a compound. Each of the three units may be rented separately of course or the entire compound may be rented and will sleep up to twelve guests.
There is off street parking for each unit. On the property is also a laundry room for guest use.
This downtown compound was featured on the 2017 Taos Home & Garden Tour. On a Saturday in August 500 tour goers had a chance to check out my style. A fun day indeed!
If Casa Verde is booked for your dates please look at Casa Azul on the same property Vrbo 797997.

Stopping in Taos for a few days, coming back to Texas from Colorado. Casa Verde very close to town square and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Home in quiet neighborhood and nicely decorated. We came with our 2 pups and home had a fenced in yard with a covered back porch. Melissa provided sheets for couch and bed to protect from pups.

Melissa’s Casa is beautiful. The accommodations provide an ideal indoor/outdoor experience. We loved her decor. We walked all around the Taos Plaza. We did day trips out to the Taos Pueblo and Earthships as well as Red River.
We had an amazing trip.
Thanks for sharing your place.

The property manager was amazing to work with and this place is super cute and in a great location… We actually loved it. The only feedback I would have is it needs some pretty updated cleaning. There was lots of dust, bunnies spiderwebs hair on the floor… But I would definitely stay there again it just needs to be cleaned.

Walking distance to town, clean we both wished there was better more comfortable furniture in the main room it was just a loveseat to sit on for the 2 of us unless you wanted to sit at the dinning room table. Bedroom and bathroom was nice

The property was super well located - close to town or to get out of town. Liked the casa - nothing fancy, just simple decor. Price was right. Worked for my husband and I for a quick Denver getaway!

This VRBO was adequate but nothing special. Location was convenient but the neighborhood was not great.
We were not able to use the TV because we did not have the codes.

Great place to stay in Taos! Cute, spacious property; short walk to town. We enjoyed eating breakfast outside each morning on the covered, private patio.

VERY clean. But not too fancy. Tile and wood floors, easy to wipe up spills. Great bed, heated Mattress pad. Fully stocked with housewares. The outside was full of great yard art. Just super. I'll stay again if I get the opportunity.

We enjoyed our brief stay in Taos. Casa Verde is in a quiet neighborhood, and is an easy, 7-10 min walk to Taos Plaza. Our casita had a private gated front yard and fenced backyard. The backyard has a pergola and shade tree, with seating, a grill, a very lovely place to sit and read on a hot or even a rainy day (we had both while we were there). While we ate out all our meals, the kitchen seemed well appointed with utensils and cooking gear. We love New Mexican food and Melissa recommended a neighborhood restaurant, Ateca Mexican Grill for dinner. It's about a 7 min walk from the casita and was excellent, authentic, family place, open Sat and Sun. We actually ate there both nights, on their outdoor patio. There are also breakfast places that are within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again.

The casita was wonderfully decorated and very charming. We loved having coffee on the covered patio in the mornings. The lack of air conditioning made the days somewhat uncomfortable but it cooled off at night and sleeping was no problem.
When we checked in there was an issue but we contacted Melissa who responded quickly to resolve the problem. She couldn’t have been more helpful. If we ever return to Taos we would stay here again but during a cooler month.

We stayed 2 nights at Casa Verde to explore Taos. The casita is walking distance to Taos Plaza and driving distance to explore the Rio Grande and wineries nearby. Melissa was easy to work with and the casita was dog friendly, perfect for my husband, me, and our 2 dogs. Clean, comfortable, and all the amenities we needed for our stay. Highly recommended!

My friend and I loved the spacious casita, front and back yard and entryway. It's a lovely short walk to the plaza and shops. Melissa has added fun, funky, unusual art objects and has an artistic eye that makes it a very enjoyable experience. She's also a responsive host and everything went smoothly.

Our casita was clean, cozy, and filled with interesting art. It was part of in a small compound but felt very private thanks to the walled in yard and patio. Great for our dog and for relaxing at the end of the day. Very convenient to downtown. We would stay again.

Property was great for us (myself and adult daughter). Walking distance to lots of shopping and activities. It was cold (temps in the 20s and 30s), but the unit was warm and cozy. We will return for a longer visit in the summer/fall.
