This restored 1925 villa features classic adobe design, genuine plaster walls and vigas ceilings, and three porches, all with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. The interior is bright and happy, illuminated by lots of natural light flooding in through large windows with beautiful views of the natural New Mexican landscape that surrounds the home. You'll love watching your favorite movies and shows on the flatscreen cable TV while warming yourself next to a hot fire in the fireplace on those frosty winter nights. And summer guests can enjoy al fresco meals outside on the patio table. Speaking of meals, the full kitchen is open and, well, gorgeous! Lovely cookware hangs from a pot and pan rack suspended over ample counter space, sure to inspire even the most demanding chefs. This home also features individual room heaters and plenty of sleeping accommodations for up to four guests, plus 1,360-square-feet of living space, so everyone will have plenty of elbow room and privacy during their stay. Late afternoon winds from approaching summer storms blow at the home’s chimes creating soothing sounds and the temperature may drop making for a lovely, cool evening on one of the three porches. Not to mention, magpies, ravens, and hummingbirds abound in the area to accompany you during your stay.
WHAT’S NEARBY
This area still retains its past agricultural and more rural charm. Yet, it is only a two mile walk to Taos Plaza and John Dunn Shops where you will find unique boutiques, creative art, restaurants for dining, and a Farmers Market on Saturdays in the summer for purchasing meat, fish, and veggies for grilling at The Birdhouse. Naturally, there are lots of outdoor activities to take advantage of right next door such as snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, and whitewater rafting. Shoppers will love visiting Taos Plaza, just two miles north, to find unique boutiques, eateries, and works by local artisans to enjoy. Taos Ski Valley is 40-minutes northeast with amazing ski slopes to shred with friends. You'll also be just over 10 miles from Taos Regional Airport.

The setting was wonderful -- mountain views from two lovely sitting areas. The historic adobe home was so charming and inviting. Absolutely will return.

The house is beautiful, so much charm. It's been unseasonably hot in Taos and the house doesn't have air conditioning. One person in our group has asthma and even with the coolers and fans on, had a hard time breathing. So, unfortunately we had to leave after the first night.

The house is really great and the location is great. The listing is not accurate regarding the fireplace which is why we booked the place. Vacasa was not great at the follow up with this and it was never addressed. That said, if you don't care about a fireplace the house really is super cozy and has everything you need. The backyard is wonderful.

The view. Location.

The house was fully furnished and so comfortable. We had a couple snow days while visiting and it was lovely to cozy up on the couch with the fireplace going. The house has a kick ass selection of DVDs, and we were able to find some more at a thrift store down the road! We used the really nice blender for margaritas one night. Someone in a comment below complained about the wind chimes. I personally loved them. There was one night where we were watching a movie and they were a bit much, so I took them off the hook and set them on the bench for the evening. No reason for complaint! The beds and pillows were really good quality and comfortable. Overall, this house was cozy, clean, accommodating, convenient to town, and peaceful. The decor was charming. With the snowstorm surprising us; this house and its accommodations really made this spring break vacation so cheerful and snuggly.

I can’t say enough about my stay in The Birdhouse. Upon arrival it was super clean and soaps and linens all provided. The kitchen is beautiful and fully stocked.
The master bedroom is amazing. Gas fireplace and sitting room with views of the mountains.
We did have a mouse sighting, which is totally expected when your staying in a rural area, which was handled by the property manager immediately. We never saw another after.
If you’re looking for a place close to Taos Plaza, but want a rural feel with beautiful views, this is your place. We will be back.

This was a very cute, clean home! It was close to everything we wanted..

We had higher than usual temperatures and the house was very hot. Brought our own fans. Found mice in small bedroom 3 times. No grill or outside umbrella for table. Bought our own umbrella. Silverware and dishes were not cleaned well. We enjoyed fishing and rafting despite the heat.

I really loved the location, the decor and the patio and courtyard. The location was easy to find and very spacious. Unfortunately we arrived in a rather wet and cool weather pattern and we were not as warm as we would have liked. Still a great place.

We had a wonderful time in Taos, and the Birdhouse was very nice. Aside from a few dirty dishes in the cabinets, the house appeared to be pretty clean when we arrived.

Gorgeous place to relax and unwind. Close to everything. Had a bit of trouble with access, but both the national and regional folks were quick to assist and super nice.

Dream Home Away From Home
We truly loved this little getaway! We traveled from OKC and was blown away by all the charm and beauty of this house! Heating was not an issue at all! In fact my kids said they were too warm at one point in time. This house was sooooo unique and amazing, my kids didn't want to leave! They were also very mindful of the space and helped keep it beautiful! Kiddos loved the outdoor space (including all the pinecones and the amazing Mountain Views!) Loved it and hope to come back in the near future!

Cute place, but cold
Great space and plenty of room. Everything was clean and put together. Had a couple issues with heating. The radiators all did not work, so they had a few space heaters. This caused the breaker to trip multiple times. Also had an issue where we did not have hot water for the first night. Apparently the pilot light had gone out on the water heater

We had a girls getaway to this property, and had a wonderful time! The place was just as listed and was very comfortable, quiet and a great location! We will return!

Cute place but had quite a few issues
First of all, the decorating was very homey and well done. We had 3 adults getting away for a girls' weekend. The location on a quiet street near the town was very restful. I took the master bedroom. The bed was comfortable, however this room is near the large, load heater in the kitchen that makes clunking noises every time it turns on during the night. There was no hot water when we went to take showers the first night. It turns out guests are instructed to turn the heater to low when they leave. It would be nice if management turned heat up before next set of guests arrive. The worst part was my friend's single bed. She pulled back the blankets to discover a glob of hair. The sheets on her bed were also very worn and heavily pilled. We had to search for clean bedding and found a ripped sheet. There were only 2 drinking glasses for 3 people, If you are hoping for a dishwasher, there is not one. Only one bath towel per person. We ran out of Kleenex because the box was almost empty and no spare had been left. There is only 1 bar of soap provided for all guests, so bring your own if you don't want to share bar soap. There is a Keurig, but only 2 pods of coffee were provided for 3 people for 2 days, so bring your own.

Cute place, great location.
Beautifully decorated, clean, with everything you need for a short or long term stay. Do be aware that the check out instructions include turning down the water heater. We were not aware of this on check in so our first showers were cold. Did not take away from our very enjoyable stay.

Amazing tranquil retreat
If you have never stayed in an adobe home, this is your chance. This home is spectacularly furnished and has all the amenities you could want in your home away from home. I loved staying here and want to come back soon!

The pictures were spot on for this property. The art, the resources for figuring out where I wanted to spend my time in Taos were all wonderful. Everything was clean and well-organized. It was in the upper 80's when I was there, but with the fans the property provided, it was comfortable.I did have some hiccups with the property management when trying to get in, but those were remedied relatively quickly.

Great House in Taos
The house was very neat and clean. It is very close to town but has a very tranquil feeling. We visited during a heat wave. Still, with open windows and turning on fans, the house was very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and walking into town past all of the prairie dogs. It was a very pleasant place for a family of four on vacation.

The Birdhouse : Feb 25-27
Really enjoyed the proximity of the house to TAos Ski Valley! The house was a great get away! However, not having a lit pilot left boiling water to compensate for cold showers and the need to crank portable heaters. This added a rustic feel to the cabin retreat getaway. Overall really enjoyed the stay.

Great property for families
We really enjoyed our stay. The place was well-equipped with everything we needed. Very clean and well-maintained; felt safe Covid-wise. Could use an extra mobile heater, because the back bedroom is kind of cold. Elliott was a great manager and handled everything efficiently and effectively. Would definitely return!!
