About this house rental
Miss Fishers is a charming two bedroom cottage less than five minutes walk from the centre of Port Isaac, where the iconic "Doc Martin" is filmed. This beautifully renovated holiday home boasts super-fast WiFi, a shepherds hut, wood burning stove, fire pit and sumptuous furnishings.
The property comes complete with your very own Shepherd's Hut, where you will discover a few DVDs of Doc Martin episodes and Saving Grace along with a selection of books. There is plenty of seating for everyone to share the space and use it as a Summer House, or, if you need to attend to some work whilst away, it also has a writing desk and wi-fi. If you want to do something more exciting, the iPad in the kitchen is pre-programmed with plenty of local activities to inspire on your Cornish self-catering escape. It contains lots of useful local information for activities and places to eat and visit locally. Try coasteering, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), surfing, kayaking or walks on the stunning coastal path. There is a list of dog friendly beaches and restaurants for our four-legged friends to enjoy too. Relax and soak up the selection of calming music and Fisherman's Friends sea shanties, or alternatively, log into Spotify via the app and play your music through the cottage's bluetooth speaker.
The dogs and children will love the all year round turf in the garden. There are two large patio areas for you to enjoy, but the one around the Shepherd's Hut gets a slightly longer day. On the patio nearest the house you will find an Indian barbecue (you will find some recipes on the iPad) which is perfect for making fresh seafood and delicious local delicacies, as well as toasting marshmallows!

Love Port Isaac and Miss Fishers makes an ideal base for a wonderful Cornish holiday

Beautiful property, very nicely decorated and very clean. Location perfect for exploring Cornwall.
Originally I booked the property to stay in 2020 but due to covid my stay was postponed twice. I was kept fully updated and given the option to re-book at the same price. It was well worth the wait!

Winter break
Really cute bungalow which has been brought up to date cleverly inside. We loved it. Felt like home with the pink Smeg. Showers were good and heating great, stove too as it was New Year. Good position with parking for 2 cars and handy shop.
Would recommend it.

Delightful cottage
Lovely cottage with everything you needed for a comfortable and homely stay

Housekeeping at the property was dreadful and Cornwall hideaways seem to do just what it says on tin
The housekeeping was well below standard, communication with booking agents was poor, place good Cornwall hideaways did just that, I feel sorry for the property owner

Good but could be better
Upon arriving at Miss Fishers found one of the two toilets leaking, which was reported immediately.Someone came out the following day to repair said leak while we were out.Unfortunately the toilet started to leak again, reported again.
Two days later a plumber came and repaired the leak, hidden at the back of the cistern was a beaker obviously to catch the drips of water.......which indicated that the leak was known about but was not rectified !
The password in the information book for the wi fi was incorrect, so another phone call to HQ for the correct password.Given another password but again wi fi said NO......gave up.
The rubbish from the previous occupants was plied high in the bin provided again reported but we had to look at the rubbish all week as it was in full view of the front window.
But not all negativity, the cottage was comfortable with a large fairly well equipped kitchen and good off road parking but for the money paid I would expect perfection.

A lovely place to stay
If you’re looking for a lovely, convenient place to stay and with parking too, this is it. Very close to the lovely village of Port Isaac and with so many places to visit in the area this makes for an ideal place to stay. There’s also a lovely hideaway at the bottom of the garden where I used to sit and read. Ideal for a couple or family of four. We would definitely go back again and hope to some day.

Great stay at Miss Fishers
A lovely small property in a great location. The beaches at Port Isaac and Port Gaverne are only 10 minutes walk and are great for your dog. When we arrived it was very clean and tidy and in great condition. The kitchen was well stocked with all essentials. Having off street parking was great. It was dog friendly with blankets provided to cover the sofa. There was a great Welcome pack waiting for us which got us started, albeit the well stocked Coop is only 2 minutes walk away. We had a problem with blocked drains but customer services were very efficient at sorting this and keeping us informed.
Only dislike was the plastic grass and a couple of suggestions for improvement would be a bigger TV and a second small sofa.
Overall a lovely place and we had a very enjoyable weeks stay.

Miss Fischer’s port izzac
We had a wonderful 4 days at miss fishers! The house was really comfortable and warm , we had mixed weather and loved using the log burner! It was exceptionally clean and the hamper on arrival was a lovely touch! Great position for walking to the village, only thing which would be nice would be some blinds or curtains at the back french window for privacy.

The fantastic Miss Fishers
On arrival central heating & lights on and a lovely welcome basket. Also milk, butter & cheese in the fridge & the bottle of wine was very much appreciated after a long drive. No expense spared with toiletries. The property was wonderful clean and tidy and open plan. The kitchen was beautiful. Just an observation, no blinds or curtains on French windows, would be nice for some privacy. The garden was enclosed for the dog, side gate was not locked, no padlock. Walking distance to the harbour. Fantastic location for eating out in Port isaac, nice stroll back to the property to watch the DVD's Doc Martin. Would definitely stay in Miss Fishers again.

Smart bungalow conversion in prime position in Port Isaac
Looks can be deceptive as from the outside this bungalow looks small. Go inside though and you’ll see what a fine job has been made of converting the interior to open plan living. The bungalow was very comfortable and quiet within walking distance of the centre of Port Isaac. The shepherds hut in the garden although we didn’t use it would be great when the weather’s good especially for kids.

Cosy and comfortable
The house was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. The location was ideal for exploring Port Isaac and the region. I was not so happy about collecting the key seven miles away - I suggest a key in a drop box might be more convenient.

Good location to explore North Cornwall
Good location with two parking spaces, essential in Port Isaac. Well appointed, comfy beds and good quality linens & towels.

A lovely tastfully furnished cottage.
A lovely cottage on the outskirts of Port Isaac with parking for 2 cars which was definitely a plus point when choosing somewhere. The furnishings and décor are to a high standard which made us feel comfortable and at home. The welcome pack items were appreciated (just wish I could have tried the cake but being coeliac I had to pass.) I did inform the company of my dietary requirements but they didn't take note unfortunately.
As a small person I found the double room quite small and very few places to put anything. The shelving had baskets and ornaments and books on them which sort of defeats the purpose of having them there for guests to use?! The ensuite was also small and during our stay the basin was blocked so unusable. It was reported but instead of unblocking the wash basin South West Water came twice and unblocked the main drains which, it turned out, were quite badly blocked!! I hope the basin by now is functioning!
The village is beautiful and the weather was perfect and we watched Doc Martin being filmed on 3 days. The whole reason for going was to see the Fisherman's Friends on the Platt and it was a fabulous sunny evening; a great end to the week sitting eating my gluten free Cornish pasty( yes they are sold in the village!) listening to the fantastic FF with 3000 other people!!

Almost but not quite !
Really enjoyed our stay overall ! Cottage really nice & so well equipped ! Great location also ! However we had an ongoing issue with the toilets & drainage system in general which left us checking out a day early & moving elsewhere , which cost us substantially & was a lot of hassle but the situation was becoming such a problem we felt we had to leave ! I understand that these issues arise however I was extremely disappointed with the attitude I received when I went to return our keys a day early ! I did not get annoyed or rude in any way just explained what had happened! The attitude of the male staff member I dealt with was so poor ! We left without any sincere apology or concern that had we cut our stay short ! This was absolutely nothing to do with expecting any financial return, it was just to do with a very poor staff attitude! For that reason alone I probably would not recommend to anyone!

Wonderful holiday stay
Lovely bungalow, great location short walk from the village, local coop only three doors away.
The bungalow has everything you’d need, only thing which I found annoying was the bathroom fan. It had a thirty minute timer, so if you put the light on in the night, you’d hear the loud fan buzzing for thirty minutes. Which stopped us getting back to sleep. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.

Location,location
This property has a modern kitchen that had everything you could possibly need. It was clean and presentation very good. The big plus is it’s location in Port Isaac with parking, which is near to the local Co-op (Very handy) and walking distance from the harbour and seafront. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
