This house had a great layout and was well-stocked all around. The ocean views and pool were great. However, the outside condition of the house was poor; the grass needed cutting, general landscaping was needed, and the rails and siding were covered in algae and muck. The latches on the pool gates were also broken. Overall, this home could really use some upgrades and TLC inside, as well, for the price being charged to guests—namely the carpeting. We loved the kitchen with the double dishwashers and refrigerators. The elevator was also nice and came in handy when bringing groceries upstairs.

This vacation included family from 78 years old (in wheelchair)to our great grandson of 2 months & every age inbetween.The home is beautiful and furnished wiith everything & anything you could want. The location is the best, short walk to beach & beautiful views. The pool area was perfect for our assorted ages & one in a wheelchair. We enjoyed many family dinners & lots of seafood so the big table was perfect. I don't normally do negative but I think owners need to know, the floors in kitchen & bathrooms were very dirty. our feet were black just moving in (we always remove shoes inside) so my daughter mopped them all. The large oven did not work. The small one did but it was too small for sheet pans. The bedroom with the crib had dirty sheets on the bed, either caked, dried blood or feces. We changed it. We also found 3 credit cards on the floor beside the bed and turned them in to the rental company. I know you can't do anything about the driveway but I think you need to note on your pictures how steep it is. Not much parking so we had to have 2 trucks park on the main road the whole week. While we loved the home & layout & pool, we would not rent again because of the driveway. Thank you for the elevator, he is a disabled veteran & was able to be a part of everything.

We had a lovely time in the spacious Sea Shellter with the very well-equipped kitchen. The elevator was a life safer with all the luggage and groceries we had for the week. The house could use some TLC and general upkeep. There were vines growing on the deck, algae at the front door, beginning of rot of some decking/porches. We were able to check in earlier than 6:00 pm but the key code did not work. The management company could not get it to work either when they came, they told us they would call back to give us a new code, but we had to call them. They did call the next day to check up on it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in our home away from home and would rent this home again.

It is a very nice home with a great kitchen and great view space from balconies. The location is nicely positioned away from heavy traffic but close to the beach, restaurants, shopping and other islands. It has nice theater, gaming, hot tub and pool features. Our first visit was in 2016 and we have visited another 4 times since. It was a bit "dusty" this visit and it appears tenants have not been as a attentive to the care of the premises on their visits. We are planning another visit.

We always have a great time at Sea Shellter and we had a wonderful time this past month. I do understand it's towards the end of the season and the house could use a deep cleaning. My biggest gripe was there's some delayed maintenance on items, the gate to the pool wouldn't latch and I was worried about our little guy wandering in (broken hinge) and the dryer was not working properly near the end (probably needs to be replaced). Outside of these things we had a really great time and will be looking to come back in the future. Pool was amazing for the kids and they always do a great job keeping the pool and hot tub clean!

Great property. We spent most of the time on the top floor. it would have been nice to use the elevator for groceries and luggage however it was out of order. No biggie. tons of space for everybody to have a spot if you bring kids. Thank you for sharing your property.

Our only complaint would be with the elevator! Was not working, being in our 60’s all the steps with luggage and groceries trucking up 4 flights of stairs was a killer. @ lest they could have docked some money! Or open the pool 🤷♀️ just annoying that this happened. Washer wouldn’t go through a spin cycle. That being said we absolutely loved it! The dinner table sat all of us ❤️

Easy beach access and large comfy rooms. Having two dishwashers and fridges was soo convenient - 4 masters was perfect for us
Huge negative was the elevator not working (when we initially reserved was not mentioned)
Also the stove has quirky issues

Beautiful property. We had 14 people, including 6 kiddos and it provided so much space for everyone to have room. Loved the size of the kitchen and dining area for our large group to cook most nights and serve family style meals. Having the hot tub and pool table were great with the cooler weather. Kitchen was well stocked but could probably use a refresh on some of the stocked pans as some weren't useable. One of the refrigerator panels for water dispensing on the front was in need of repair as it had exposed electrical. But outside of those really minor things it was a great stay!

Sea Shellter is one of the best equipped houses we have ever rented. It is designed so well to give everyone space to enjoy the vacation. We had 8 adults and three little guys 1,2 and 3. The house could use a good fall cleaning after a busy summer of rentals, but was still really nice. Very convenient to walk to the beach and the pool is a great plus too.

House was big enough the kids had their own area downstairs and the adults were able to hang out upstairs on the porches and kitchen area. Each bathroom only had two towels so I would make sure you have extra for the week. Lots of bikes to have fun on and pool area was good as well.

Very Nice House. Well maintained. I loved that all the Master Bedrooms are identical with regard to bathroom, closet and etc. The only problem I would caution potential renters about is that the photograph of the Beach is VERY MISLEADING since it doesn't show the moat that you cannot cross. The Beach Access is at the intersection South of the House. It's 400+ feet as indicated. The photograph which is 'As the Crow Flies' is extremely misleading though. Cannot believe I fell for it.

For the first time in the 20 yrs we have been coming to the Outer Banks, the entire family was in agreement that we would rent the same property next summer. And this decision was made on Day 2 of our stay.The kitchen is dream - commercial grade stove top, ovens and range hood. Well appointed with pots and pans in decent condition - plenty of utensils along with 2 fridges, 2 sinks and 2 dishwashers make this ideal for a bigger family.Kids were a big fan of the pool, and the beach access is an easy walk. 2nd floor outdoor shower is genius - close to bedrooms on 2nd floor.Only negative(s): Beach house needs to be equipped with keyless entry to avoid having to travel all the way to milepost 2 to pick up a key. On top of the management office being over 15 miles away from the rental, very few rentals managed by this company were ready on time. The management office was literally overflowing with customers trying to get into properties that should have been ready, but were not.Keyless entry would at least eliminate the need to stop at their office both on the way in, and the way out. Since we can now exit the Outer Banks through Manteo, traveling to the rental office is highly inconvenient, as well as quite stressful due to the poor service.

We had a great time at Sea Shellter! It was a great layout and very comfortable for all of us. The door off of each bedroom to the deck was a great bonus and the media space on the first floor was very cozy.The kitchen was well stocked and it was nice to have the owner's manuals handy for reference for the appliances and the TV and DVD player. There were plenty of dishes, serving dishes and silverware. The cookware was fine but could be updated. The refrigerators in the kitchen were the first ones we have had in any rental that got cold very quickly and stayed cold, that was great and the ice makers kept up to!The beach access and the lifeguard right there are fantastic. The walk is probably a minute and the ramp up the dune is so nice for those who have mobility issues. The beach cart and chairs in the garage made our time by the ocean even more relaxing, one less thing to worry about. All in all, this was a great trip. Beach Realty was very responsive to the one call we made about a broken wrung on the pool ladder and it was repaired the next day. They called us to make sure things were going well, which was a nice touch. It was clear this home is well cared for given the attention to detail and the maintenance of it which was easy to see.

WOW!
This house was exactly what we were looking for. There were 13 of us and nobody was cramped for space. Each couple and individual family had there own bathroom and bedroom. Short walk to the beach. We spent a lot of time in the house due to the weather and never once felt crowded. Would recommended this house 10 out of 10 times.

We were a family of 10, 4 generations, ages 2 to 81 and this house was absolutely perfect for us? We have probably rented 20 different houses over the years and this one was, by far, the most well equipped and well maintained house. You can really tell the owners put money back into the place by the updates. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to spend the most amazing week at their house.

Amazing Home, Wonderful Experience
This house was immaculate and well kept. Our group of 12 (7 adults and 5 kids) fit perfectly. We had great communication between property management as well when we needed the pool checked out. I've already told friends and family about this property and the next time we're in OBX, we will definitely stay here.

We have been coming to the Outer Banks for about 25 years. We try new areas and different homes often. This home needs updating.
The Good. The pool was fantastic, and the heater worked perfectly. The Decks offered amazing views of the sunset and sunrises. Easy access to the beach and a turtle pond close by was a favorite for the kids.
The Bad. (1)The elevator was a gamble every time you got in it. Would get stuck in between floors and would inch down very slowly. This was a constant issue, even after a technician came out to look at the unit. (2) The house needs a deep cleaning. We understand that turning a big house in between rentals that its not going to be perfectly clean. Stains on the couch, ants in the kitchen, dirt on the floors. (3) The furniture is due to be replaced. The living room couch is awful, stains and uncomfortable. The beds are hard and cruel. (4) AC unit had to be replaced during our stay. They were very responsive and the unit was replaced the next day. (5) smell of very strong gas from the kitchen on second to last day of our stay. Was told that it was a signal that the gas needed to be filled. The day we left the gas smell was unbearable from the kitchen. (6) lastly the very steep incline on the driveway is not ideal. Half the driveway is unusable.
We had a fantastic trip despite the house conditions. We definitely would not stay at this house again.
The Good. The pool was fantastic, and the heater worked perfectly. The Decks offered amazing views of the sunset and sunrises. Easy access to the beach and a turtle pond close by was a favorite for the kids.
The Bad. (1)The elevator was a gamble every time you got in it. Would get stuck in between floors and would inch down very slowly. This was a constant issue, even after a technician came out to look at the unit. (2) The house needs a deep cleaning. We understand that turning a big house in between rentals that its not going to be perfectly clean. Stains on the couch, ants in the kitchen, dirt on the floors. (3) The furniture is due to be replaced. The living room couch is awful, stains and uncomfortable. The beds are hard and cruel. (4) AC unit had to be replaced during our stay. They were very responsive and the unit was replaced the next day. (5) smell of very strong gas from the kitchen on second to last day of our stay. Was told that it was a signal that the gas needed to be filled. The day we left the gas smell was unbearable from the kitchen. (6) lastly the very steep incline on the driveway is not ideal. Half the driveway is unusable.
We had a fantastic trip despite the house conditions. We definitely would not stay at this house again.
