Beautiful scenery. Very spacious. The one thing I would suggest is having a small refrigerator downstairs and maybe consider connecting those downstairs rooms to the upper part of the house. We had some of oir family in the 2 rooms downstairs and they had to walk out of the main house to get to thosth

We had a wonderful time. The property was everything we expected and more. Nothing was missing, everything was clean and ready for us. The pool was amazing. We had a great time with a multigenerational group of family and friends.
There were so many things to do nearby, we will need to return to complete it all.
The host Yvonne was very easy to communicate with and responsive.
We loved our stay and hope to be back.
Thank you!

We rented this house for two weeks for a family trip - two seniors, two adults, one child. The house is fine. The basement consists of two bedrooms and a bathroom, and is not connected to the upstairs. To get upstairs to the kitchen/living/dining areas, you have to use the staircase on the outside of the house. The setting is lovely, literally staying in the rain forest. The pool is wonderful. The wraparound balcony is also nice to enjoy. It rains a lot, which we were ready for. The no-see-um bugs are vicious. Use bug spray liberally.
We found the beds extremely uncomfortable. I added some blankets with a top sheet to sleep on. This helped a bit. Blackout curtains, which were not present, should be there. The light shines in very early. The neighborhood is off the main drag, which is nice AND takes a little bit of time to get to. The kitchen is fine.
The main concern that we had was that the power went out at 8pm on night 8. At 9am the next morning, we contacted the host, deciding to cancel the remainder of our trip. My dad and husband sleep with CPAP machines and didn’t get any sleep, and an entire refrigerator worth of food was wasted. Yvonne allowed us to cancel, and refunded us for the remaining 6 nights. She said that power outages are normal for PR, especially after the 2017 hurricanes, but every other house on the street had power. If outages are normal, I question the decision to not get a generator or solar panels so that electricity stays on for guests.

Our stay at Villa el Yunque exceeded all our expectations. The villa was even more beautiful than the pictures could show. The rooms were nicely appointed and very comfortable. They were very spacious and the high ceilings made them very elegant. The kitchen was well equipped and the grill that was out on the porch was a welcome option. The living spaces had plenty of seating options and very easily accommodated our party of seven people. One of the many things that we enjoyed about the house was the gorgeous covered porch that wrapped around three sides of the house. We spend the majority of our time out there. The porch had several options of tables to enjoy meals at. There was plenty of comfortable seating where you could relax and enjoy the splendid views. The pool area and yard are beautifully landscaped. At night the pool area is especialy pretty. Since the house is so close to the El Yunque Rainforest each evening we were serenaded by the Coquis. These wonderful little frogs help make the area bug free.
Last but not least the owners of this beautiful home were very helpful during our stay and we can’t thank them enough!!!

We had a great time until the refrigerator went completely out to be honest. It wasn’t working that well when we got there, it started leaking and then went out called Yvonne and she replied back at a reasonable time other than that the property is wonderful. The pool is great and everything you need is right there and also not to mention it’s close to all the outdoor activities can’t wait to stay again

This property was so accommodating for the ten of us and very spacious. The wraparound decks were so awesome. Such a pretty view no matter where you sat. Close to town and places to visit. The owners were quick to answer our questions within minutes! This was our first VRBO and it was a grand adventure!!!

A lovely and clean house in a quite neighborhood. We loved eating outside in the huge balcony and listening to the coqui in the evening. It’s close enough to San Juan to do day trips. The pillows are pretty flat but we just stacked them. We really enjoyed this house and would stay here again

This is our second year staying at what we lovingly call “casita”. It is THE BEST. The house makes vacation so relaxing. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are comfortable, the town is adorable. It’s in the middle of so many destination spots. Yvonne was very responsive both before and during our stay. I can’t say enough good things!

We loved our stay. The house was beautiful. We were first concerned that the two bedrooms down stairs were not accessible from the upstairs but that concern quickly faded because the property was so secured comfort quickly set in.
There was 9 people in our party and everyone of us loved the house. We hated to leave. We will be staying here again.

Fabulous Tropical Getaway
We had an amazing time at this property. The location could not be better for visiting El Yunque and it is minutes to ziplining, two adventure parks, horseback riding and justva short hop to beaches. The town of Palmer is welcoming and boasts several nice shops and restaurants. The property itself is very well maintained and had lots of space for our family. We swam in the huge pool daily and thoroughly enjoyed coffee and coctails on the wraparound porch. We absolutely fell in love with Puerto Rico and the rain forest during our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful stay
We stayed here for about 7 days and never ran out of things to do! We loved the rooms and the pool. I would say go to the grocery store before you get here! The fridge doesn’t stay too cold so maybe get Oatmilk instead of cows milk.

Great location, fantastic view
Our family had a great Spring break. The villa is on the outskirts of the rainforest. Loved everything about the location of the house. Drive for 10 minutes, you can find yourself in the middle of the rainforest, cooling in one of the streams. Going to beach also takes less than 10 minutes. We loved crystal clear water of Luquillo beach.
Pool was OK. Had a problem with the pump but the owner sent someone to fix the problem.
The view from the balcony is amazing.
Night time is a symphony that we are truly amazed.
Neighbor’s rooster made us laugh. He is small but mighty with the sound. It was part of the adventure.

Perfect location in PR
We woke up to amazing jungle views every morning; great property very close to the rainforest and just a short ride from amazing beaches. We traveled with 4 children from 6 to 17 and they all loved the experience. Just a note: we did not have guides but did amazing hikes at El Yunque (you might need reservations depending on the season, $2/vehicle). We took advantage of the recommendations of Yvonne to which beaches to visit and the 30 minute hike from Seven Seas was our favorite, make sure you won't miss that. There were some roosters (or forest birds??) that were pretty loud at night and early morning, but we did not mind waking up to the amazing views and sounds. Also, you get used to it after a while :-) Great stay, we would love to come back!

Not what I expected
The house is spacious and clean however the pool was not clean and was covered in algea. We lost the first day and a half of the pool waiting for the pool guy to come take care of it. It is set on a timer for the filter so you won't be able to swim during the day as the pool will be dirty. You have to wait until the filter kicks on which is sometime in the late afternoon and the day is pretty much over. The home is in a quiet area and the sounds of nature are beautiful. The pool was a disappointment as it was one of the things we looked for so the kids could enjoy time during the day. The home needs some TLC.

Beautiful house in a great location
We( 4 adults and 5 teenagers) stayed in this beautiful house for 5 nights. It was perfect for us. The kids loved it and were in the pool everyday. It's close to San Juan and the airport, near the beach, rain forest and other activities. The view of El Yunque from the porch is amazing.
In addition, the kitchen is well-equipped. There was enough furniture and room for all 9 of us. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing but convenient location out of San Juan. It's especially good for kids.

Pictures does not do this place Justice!
One of the best getaways I’ve had with my family in Puerto Rico! What you see is beauty in the pictures, but being there in person is breath taking! Loved it, spacious for my family of 7 and my sis in-laws family of 3. Close to great food and beaches. All bedrooms had AC, living room and kitchen did not but was still perfect. It has everything you need, I would definitely recommend!! 5 stars not enough! Thank you!

Beautiful Jungle Estate
Absolutely loved our stay here. This is an amazing location, pretty much in the jungle. We loved the pool, especially in the evening when the jungle noises start! And... Just about as close to El Yunque as you can get.
The home had everything that we needed. Lots of dishes, plenty of places to sit and relax, all of the amenities that we could need. There was plenty of secure parking for the two cars that we had. Beds were comfortable. The rooms cool down nicely at night thanks to the great AC. And the whole place was VERY clean. There are cameras outside, but not facing the home. We felt secure, and had all the privacy that we wanted.
The Host was wonderful. Very helpful and responsive. We will stay here again, and for longer next time.
TIPS
- We are from the United States and often worry about water quality when we travel. We drank the tap water here and it was great!
- In a rain forest you probably don't want to sit out on a balcony at night with lights on. All of the jungle critters like to come explore.
- When visiting El Yunque you should probably download the offline version of google maps before leaving. Don't want to make a wrong turn coming home (and end up 1 hour to the east! unless you like exploring like we did! LOL)
