The best hosts and beautiful property

Ajith was the most incredible host. Very attentive and helpful. I was slightly unwell when I got to the property and the whole family made me feel very safe. The property is beautiful and very easy to get to the cricket stadium and dambulla caves.

A gem

had the most amazing stay at the Niduwari Lake Homestay. It was by chance I found myself staying here after getting let down by a hostel- and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked into the beautiful gardens of the homestay, Ajith and his wife provided a first class service. Set just a 5 minute Tuk tuk ride from the bus station, this peaceful property is set in well maintained, stunning gardens right next to a lake. Ajith also has a tuk tuk and took me on a trip to see sunrise at Pidurangula ( all for a price cheaper than other drivers were offering ) and the herbal and medicinal gardens. Ajiths wife also cooks the most delicious food - I had a traditional breakfast, then on the last night ( again for a very reasonable price ) about 6 different local dishes, all of which were great. After all the places I have visited, I have not found better value for money and fantastic service that this property offers. Thank you so much Ajith and family, you have set the bar very high!

A hidden gem by the lake, perfect to visit the beautiful area with the most kind hosts!

We loved our stay here! We felt so welcomed and taken care of by the owner and his family: they were super responsive from days before via Whatsapp, they are very well organized with a tuktuk car and took care of all the transfers we wanted to visit the beautiful surroundings (a super cute local temple, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, the caves etc..), the wife of the owner cooked delicious dinners every night. All these at a very reasonable price. Considering the price of the room we didn't have very high expectations, but we feel this place has been outstanding value for money. The room was very big, quite clean, with hot water and good wifi and a lovely terrace overlooking the garden where we spent most of the time. The included breakfast was everyday different and so tasty! We stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer! Thanks again for the great hospitality!

The only downside of the room was the smell of old and dump, which is unfortunately quite common in the accommodations here in Sri Lanka. We managed to keep the door open while we were on the terrace, (with the mosquito net over the bed) and that helped a lot!

All the facilities were good. the owner is friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and as i expected. the lake is very close to the property and with great garden. Enough spaced in the garden for children to play and walk.

Increíble alojamiento, buena comida, buen precio y trato inmejorable!!!!

Fue una de las mejores noches que hemos pasado en Srilanka, todo muy limpio, silencioso, cerca de la ciudad, el trato por parte del propietario fue muy bueno,le pedimos una cena y fue lo mejor que pudimos hacer, estaba todo muy muy bueno y era abundante, en cuanto al desayuno que estaba incluido en el precio ...una pasada !!!! Además nos llevó a coger un bus hacia Colombo de manera gratuita. Gracias por el trato recibido y por hacernos pasar un día de relax tan bueno.

Peaceful accomodation with a lovely garden area.

This is a beautiful, relaxing property with lovely staff. Everything was very clean, the beds were comfy, and aircon worked well. We had 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners and they were all different. We tried a new fruit and new foods and the meals were very filling. The owner drove us around in his tuk tuk which was helpful as the house is quite far from town, not really walking distance in the heat. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden as there is plenty of places to sit and enjoy the nature and peacefulness.

Best place near Dambulla

Lovely place near the jungle. Best and nicest staff! Breakfast was amazing! Be aware, there are some insects in the room, bc it’s so in the nature. No problem for us. Everything was amazing at this stay. Even serve delicious Sri Lankan Dinner for little money! We loved it.

We came during new year celebration when everything was closed. The owner was welcoming and served us great local food. Rich traditional breakfast was included and was delicious. The house is in the beautiful garden. Location is little bit far from town therefore it is quiet. Cave teple is 40 minutes walk. Owner took us to Sigiryia when no other transport was available.

My stay at Niduwari Lake was excellent. The grounds are gorgeous, the food is delicious, and the family that runs the homestay is extremely sweet. The owner both picked me up in his tuktuk when needed, and took me to the places I wanted to go as well as some personal recommendations, all for a very reasonable price. It's not always easy to come across somebody so welcoming and honest, and I highly recommend asking him to take your around while staying here instead of hiring someone in town. Thank you for everything, and best of luck in the future!

We got upgraded for 2 double beds instead of one. The owner fixed kindly us a late lunch when we arrived at 3pm. With little communication, we could still understand each other well. He has a tuk tuk and dropped our luggage to the bus station for 250 rupees.

The location is a bit far. We had a noisy neighbor and the room were not super well isolated

What a place ! Beautiful garden, and peaceful place to stay with delicious homemade food for breakfast and even diner if asked, Agith was very kind and helpful to us.. he could also drive you wherever you want and show you around. Room super Clean and cosy, you can't be dissapointed. We highly recommand this place !

Easy and comfortable stay in Dambulla

Owner is nice and helpful, he picked me up and drove me to the cave temple, then bus stop for a reasonable price. Beautiful and peaceful house next to lake. A short Tuk Tuk ride from bus station, you can call owner to arrange the pick up from station. Room is spacious and clean overall. The breakfast is fine, too much bread for me though.

Wi-Fi is quite weak and there is no hot water for shower.

Great service, very friendly host, delicious breakfast. The location and garden was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay! I would really recommend staying here if you're in Dambulla.

This place was such a delight!

A wonderful stay indeed. The host was super lovely and kind. He also drove us his comfortable modern tuk tuk to many beautiful spots both hidden gems and the touristy attractions. Everyone in his family warm welcomed us and made us feel at home. The homemade dinner from his wife was amazing! The place was really clean and well taken care of in a peaceful location. Only 2 km to a nice lake on a stroll. We really enjoyed our 3 days there. Two thumbs up!
