We had 10 adults and 1 teenager ranging in age from 13-70. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed including a propane line connected directly to the gas grill which we were not aware of until we arrived. The only concern we had were the narrow steep steps from the parking area to the deck/entry. A bit challenging with luggage and groceries, but we really enjoyed our stay and I would totally recommend this property as it was convenient for our activities of candle making, hiking, horseback riding and driving to Logan and Laurelville. ☺️

The cabin was awesome and had everything we needed for a great stay. Super clean, had extra blankets and we loved the large front porch!

Everything was done with thought, very clean . If i had only one thing i needed was a gate on the back or front steps where steep for the grandfather and old dog. But we made it work. Everything else was perfect

We had a small family get together at Chief Logan cabin. The cabin was large and comfortable, but the walls are paper thin. We also had very very very slow wifi and the hot tub smelled like a sewer system by day 5. If you bring a large group, plan for bathroom crowdedness and no dressers or tables in the bedrooms. It is great for visiting and eating, but not great for quiet time while sleeping. The first person up in the morning will wake everyone up…the floors are loud. Overall, we had a great week.
Bring cell phone hot spots, towels, laundry soap, paper towels and dish soap!

The property was as amazing as advertised! The location was perfect whether you wanted to hang out at Logan Logan, kayak, hike in Hocking Hills, or just relax and play games in the cabin. The o it minor complaint was inconsistent Wi-Fi, otherwise it was a dream!

We loved the lodge. Great property with plenty of beds for everyone. We will book this again. Wi-fi was not working properly, however it was nice to take a break from technology.

We enjoyed the location of this house. We did several nearby hikes, and the drive to others wasn't bad at all. We also liked the fire pit area and that we were far away from other homes. It was nice it had a pool table for our kids too.
However, the home itself has some areas of poor construction and other things in need of repairs that if fixed, would really make it a 5 star property.
The floors squeek in the kitchen pretty bad. The basement bathroom feels like it has no privacy because there is a half inch gap down the entire door even when locked. The basement bathroom shower is configured odd and awkward to enter and use. The stairs to the house and inside the house are only a 2x10 with no overhand so they are about an inch shorter than any normal stair tread and without an overhang you feel like you are going to trip on them. The lower bedrooms have porches to the outside but they have a railing around them that prevents you from leaving the porch. Then there are just odd things like the front door handle is installed backwards, bathroom door knobs are installed sideways and our group would often feel like they got locked into the bathroom, etc.
Overall we felt like we paid top dollar for a place that wasn't really all that great.

We have been making a trip to the hocking hills area for our family Christmas get together for several years.
This is our favorite cabin so far. We introduced three more teenagers to the wonder that is Ash Cave and they loved it. Fans for life I think.
Chief Logan Lodge had everything we needed for an enjoyable family weekend. The hot tub was nice, beds were comfy, bathrooms and showers were nice. We liked that several of the bedrooms had access to the deck. Parking areas had room enough for our vehicles.
We were happy to include our furry family members, thanks for allowing them.

This was just the right spacious, private setting for our group to have a relaxing weekend away. All of the amenities were enjoyed, and it easily accommodated a group of eight.
8.0 / 10.0
The setup of the cabin worked great for our family. Location was great for the activities we planned. Beds were too soft for our liking and the wood floors creaked no matter where you walked so those above and below heard every sound. There were mouse traps in the house and we had to kill one the last night we were there. The coffee pot was filthy when we arrived so had to scrub it before using it. The porch was great and the kids had lots of fun playing out on it. There was a railing you could move in front of the stairs which was great for the kids. All in all it worked well for our trip.

Great Time
My family and I stayed here for the weekend and had a wonderful experience. There were plenty of amenities available to accommodate all of our needs and the property was very clean. We had a great time hanging out in front of the wood fireplace and enjoying the pool table, sauna and hot tub. Great stay!

Chief Logan winter stay
The location of cabin was nice. Not to far from town and park attractions. Shared this cabin with with 3 families of 4. 2 of them having children under 4. All was well until bath time. We picked this cabin as the listing accommodations worked well for us. 5 bedroom 3.5 bath 2 of them being shower tub combos. Not the case!!! Cabin only has one tub and upon our arrival only one shower worked and all sinks had a trickle of water when using them. When a call was placed they assured us prior to our arrival everything was working fine. Maintenance guy was sent, and after being stumped for a while he discovered all the shower heads and bathroom sinks were plugged with iron build up and Had to run to hardware store for replacement parts. I can assure you the iron build up did not happen between cleaning and our arrival. Witch also has me questioning how the showers where even cleaned prior to our stay. Maybe the owner of this cabin should consider a new company to look after his or her property.

Good family gathering location
We were a group of 11 adults and 2 young children. We enjoyed having bedrooms on different levels to allow to young children nap times/early bedtime. Common areas/kitchen slightly on the smaller side for the amount of people the cabin can sleep, but surprised that it was not a big deal. Additionally, other reviews mentioned well water taste, but water tasted completely normal. Do note that water pressure/amount of hot water is severely limited at times and especially in the basement bathroom. Rooms/beds are a mixture of sizes and firmness, might consider that when first choosing rooms. Deck space was lovely, we had warm weather during our Christmas stay and it was nice to hang out on the deck some, which would be a huge draw in summer/fall as well.

Gorgeous house
8 of us stayed in the beautiful home..so clean and well stocked. It rained all weekend but we still managed to have a great time. We enjoyed the pool table and hot tub..internet was very spotty or none at all. Only suggestion is the fire pit is in an odd place..should be closer in the huge side yard..stairs were too steep to go up and down very often. I’m sure we’ll be back again. TY!

Very Nice place, Overall good stay
This Cabin was great overall. The outdoor space/deck is huge, we could spend a lot of time outside even when it was raining. The indoor space was a little smaller than the pictures show but was overall very nice. The one thing I would recommend is that people download the google maps snip of the area so they can better get around and bring any movies , music they would like to stream already downloaded. There is no cell phone service (I have Verizon, might be better with other providers) and While there is Wifi, it is tragically slow and you really cant do anything on it. Ultimately the point of the trip was to unplug so this wasn't a huge deal but you forget all of the small conveniences you need data for (especially GPS to get to surrounding places).

Water and sound
The lodge was very beautiful In its rustic setting. Since we had a large group, it accommodated us very well with the number of beds and bathroom which were in pristine shape.
However, we were a little disappointed in the water in showers and sinks. It made it hard to wash hair and dishes. When you move around on the floors they creak a lot. And everyone in the lodge hears every step everyone else takes.
Overall it was a good experience and we would not hesitate to book the place again.

Great stay
A large group of us stayed here and had a great time! Beautiful property! Only small detail I would add to listing is the fact that the stairs leading up to cabin were steep. Just a small issue with the older members of the group.

Needed extra chlorine tabs to refill the hot tub and for large groups an extra skillet for cooking. But all good everyone enjoyed themselves

Gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable cabin!
This log cabin is absolutely awesome. The interior is made of knotty pine and it is beautifully decorated. The beds were surprisingly extremely soft and comfortable. Kitchen is stocked with pretty much anything you would need (but I do recommend bringing paper plates and plastic utensils because there is really only enough for one night’s worth if you have a large group. The cabin is within 15 mins of Old Man’s Cave and even closer to Rock House. Great location and the property on which it is situated was very pretty too.
Only downsides are all the stairs (including the ones to get into the cabin) are very steep, so it would be difficult for anyone with even a slight disability to enter and dangerous for young kids to climb unaccompanied. The water pressure could also be better, but we were still able to shower. It’s well water, so bring bottled because it does not taste good to drink.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

This was the perfect place to enjoy time with a large family. What an amazing trip to HH’s!
We loved this place! It was perfect! Close to all the beautiful sites in Hocking Hills. We also enjoyed the glass blown art shop. Really nice people. I highly recommend! You should offer free two hours early in and free one hour late check out.

Overall ok property but would not go back second time. Heating and cooling was awful. Slept downstairs, it was either super cold or super hot. They had worst bed that we ever slept... shower barely running.. Stayed there before Christmas and was hoping some season decorations to have that cabin feel during Christmas time.

Perfect for a private getaway
My wife, three kids (3/6/8), and my Mother and Father-in-law all stayed here comfortably with plenty of space for all of us to have our own bedrooms. The cabin is spacious and the wrap around deck is HUGE and was a bonus for the kids to run around and get their energy out. The kitchen was a bit small but functional...although it's missing basics like oven mitts, wash rags, towels, etc. We had my wife joining us a day late so it was great that she could bring those from home. I'm giving this property 4 stars only because I thought the kitchen supplies were pretty sparse and the creaking of the floors were so terrible that if anyone got up to use the bathroom it woke the entire house up. You feel bad for walking around the house and making all that noise. We love the fire pit area and did smores one night which was a huge hit. Hocking Hills is a paradise in the middle of Ohio if you love being outdoors and hiking.

Family getaway
Our family of 6 stayed for 2 nights. House was perfect. We spread out and each had our own room. We enjoy the games at the house, used the card table and hot tub often. Kitchen was well stocked. The outside deck was perfect in the evenings. We did a lot of hiking and it was nice to come home to the lodge for meals and to cool off a bit.

The Chief Logan Lodge was cozy and a perfect place for our celebration.
Buffalo Lodging Company was great. The beds in the Chief Logan Lodge had soft foam mattresses which were uncomfortable for some in our group.
