Clean room, nice host

Clean room right across the beach and 10’ driving from Le Morne Brabant peak trailhead. Host is very nice and makes good food for dinner and breakfast.

Noisy and lousy rip off. Avoid!

Nothing.

It is a misrepresentation of what is on the photo (bed and linen look absolutely nothing like that). It is on a really noisy road and the dogs bark all night. They don’t seem to get it that the whole point of a bed for the night is to get a good nights rest. I had none of that. There was also no hot water. Really? This place is a cheat and although budget don’t let that fool you. it is a complete rip off. Cockroaches were some of the biggest seen since my last stay in Durban!

Nice GOOD EDUCATED , friendly people with neat accomodation ,a good place to stay

location is good ,near the beach but are spoiled by the dirty ruinous house on the premises next to them.

the only problem that i experienced was the fact that their was hardly any hot water in my shower because of lact of presure. I reported it twice, but nothing was done about it and the other shower that was offered to me in another room also did not had hot water.

AMAZING local experience! Your one stop shop for all Mauritius has to offer .

It's a hidden gem in Le Morne where you will truly have the local experience and a Home away from Home. I booked for one night and extended as Sooreka ( the guestlady) took such good care of me I didn't have to think of anything , tours, food, experiences, you name it - Sooreka took care of it all.

A great place to stay!

I really had a great time staying in JN Sunflower. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip! They are so accomodating ang caring. They told me a lot of tips to get around Mauritius. Local experience at its finest! *PS Thank you for the extra care when I got sick. Your ginger tea was the best! Hope to be back with friends.

Perfect location with a charming host.

Located in the village of Le Morne makes it accessible by bus and little shops, and of course very near Le Morne Brabant itself! Located right across the water, with a charming and helpful host. Thank you!

Make sure to get precise directions from host to find it easily as "Sunflower" is not written on the outside of the property.

Must stay, backpackers friendly!

The family was an absolute delight. Helped arrange my stay, had interesting conversations and truly cared for their guests. What might seem like small intentions like a traditional cup of tea when sick or take you see a sunset did not go unnoticed.

Le Morne is a quiet small village. But just to meet these lovely people makes the stay completely worth it.

Ideal budget place in Le Morne.

Good location in Le Morne with easy access to transport. Good facilities. Clean and friendly couple running the place.

Superb

I had a lovely time at Sunflower Residence and enjoyed the stay with the family away from the tourist crowds. Everyone here was so helpful with organizing, traveling advices, and there was a daily, freshly cooked dinner :) If you want to experience the country and local culture, this is your place to stay!

Very poor

It was very close to the beach.

We were not welcomed by the owner which isn’t a must but it felt kind of weird. Then the first right room on the ground floor (where we stayed) was sadly completely wet. It was a dark room with no real window to the outside. The sealing was full of water leaks. It smelled like mold in there and everything we had was completely wet after seconds being in there. After sleeping there two nights we couldn’t take it anymore and left. I don’t really know how the other rooms look like, but this one is a real health risk. Constantly breathing in Mold isn’t really a health pushing thing. Also the Refrigerator and the kitchen both sadly were kind of dirty. The refrigerator smelled really bad and there were many dirty spores inside. We stopped after two days and just moved on. The owner came at our Departure and told us we could get another room. She seemed kind of understanding the problem and that’s the only thing why this review isn’t as bad as it possibly should be. Personally I think the owners know about the mold and that this one is not the only room in this condition. Still renting these rooms and therefor charging so much for it is just a complete scam.

Exceptional

We really enjoyed our stay! We had clean, nice room with own bathroom and shared kitchen, livingroom and terrace. Wifi works well and hot water is running. The owner is extremely friendly, kind and hospitable, cooks great food and makes sure everything is well and rooms are clean. Thank you!
