would not return to this villa

the bathrooms were nice and newly renovated

we were told by the property manager that we had exclusive use of the villa as we thought it was one villa. only to be told it’s apartments and we only had the ground flour of two bedrooms, two en-suites and a kitchen. when we arrived the villa is in a beautiful location with monkeys and lizards. but the place was not clean at all, the bedrooms and bathroom were ok. the wardrobe smelled really bad and made the towels smell awful so we had to wash them before using them. the kitchen looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all, after we went shopping we had to deal clean the kitchen before actually settling in. we could deal with the bugs outside but there was constant bugs inside that we had to deal with very often. the kitchen facilities were below basic, they had no utensils to use, pretty poor equipment. when we arrived there was hardly anything that booking says they have, the manager had to fetch a kettle and microwave only because we asked. also had to buy a knife as the one there couldn’t cut anything at all. this is not the place to cook and relax. we also weren’t told that we had to pay cash on leaving the villa luckily we had enough but the manager had 3 days to tell us we needed cash and didn’t. the breakfast we had was okay and a nice gesture, except food not being covered so when we arrived to breakfast there weren’t ants and bugs everywhere.

Super Cosy Villa with Exceptionally Friendly Staff

Within a walking distance to Galle and its attractions, this is a lovely air conditioned waterfront Villa set in a tranquil location. The villa is the last house on the road, giving you absolute peace. The bedrooms are very spacious and well appointed and the balcony overlooking the lagoon treats you to some marvellous sunsets. The rooftop balcony where breakfast is served, gives one a 360° panorama view. A fully equipped kitchen is found in both the villas and for long staying guests, another fully equipped kitchen is also available at rooftop level. Bed linen and towels are absolutely clean and the mattresses are comfy. Good hot and cold water in the bathrooms with good pressure. WiFi worked just fine. As there are only 2 villas each with two bedrooms, one can be assured that the property will never get crowded. To top all that, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. The garden is home to many endemic fruit bearing trees. Ripe mangoes were almost touching the ground hanging from the branches during our stay. We were surprised to see how intact the nature was and the diversity of flora and fauna. We had a few water monitors visiting the garden during our stay. Many kinds of birds too. A lagoon trip in the small boat belonging to the villa is highly recommended. We’ll certainly be returning!

Amazing

The villa is amazing, the host and his family are very friendly. Very beautiful river view. It was a pleasure for us to stay there. The breakfast was very delicious, they always asked us what to prepare for the next day. I strongly recommend Villa Cork. We will definitely go back there next year for at least 1 month.

Very nice place for a family stay.

The Villa is facing to a River and there is a good lawn to taste the nice view. Very calm and quite environment for a holiday. Very nice family who was taking care of us and offered a very good Sri Lankan style breakfast. They have arranged a river safari for us which is remarkable.

A calm place to stay in Galle

Very friendly family who are taking care, breakfast on request earlier than usual. Super clean rooms, patio also terrace for your own use

There was a small misunderstanding what we booked, so we didn't get our 2 bedroom villa, but were accommodated in a villa nearby with separate rooms, but all good

Superb

Location is good. The lake is peaceful and it is a very quiet area. The breakfast is very good and set on the rooftop which is a good spot to eat at in the morning. Put a board near the entrance to the road, otherwise it could be easily missed (Very important!!). The hosts were lovely, and they even got me a gift as my birthday happened to coincide on the day we departed. Definitely recommend staying there.

A Gem in Galle

One of the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The host is very helpful and accommodating. The facilities are more than we expected. The room came with a fully serviceable kitchen and a Balcony big enough to have a Party and Dance Floor. The view is just spectacular, overlooking the lake from the balcony. To top it all for the price it came with a scrumptious Sri Lankan and Continental Breakfast. Only short walk to see the sunset on the horizon and to the shops. The top mark goes the the cleanliness of the sheets,towels,room,bathroom and its surroundings within the compound. This will be our sure accommodation next time we are in Sri Lanka. Super host,super breakfast,super location and Super Price.

There is nothing we did not like. It is faultless.
